Sh ip cache flow command in Nexus

is there a similar command to the  sh ip cache flow in Nexus?
Thanks..
_Greg...

Hi Greg
Try
sh hardware flow ip
Below you can find the documentation about netflow on nexus:

Can anybody explain the logic behind this,
    Regards,

    Hi,
some kind of an asymmetric routing probably in your network.
I.e., the  10.57.55.11 source is using a different path to reach the destination 10.64.2.191 than your router would choose for routing back.
Do you see any returning traffic in your flow cache?
If not, the real returning traffic is not routed via this particular router, i.e., taking a completely different path.
    Best regards,

The export command was a new feature added in the 4.2(1)SP1(3) version of code. Your 1010 is one rev lower.
You'll need to upgrade the code on the 1010 to the latest code to get the export command.
The upgrade is pretty straight forward. Just download the code and follow the upgrade guide.

  • Echo commands on Nexus OS

    Hi,
When I enter any commands on my N5k's, I see echos of the full command, date/time stamp, and OS version:

  • Netflow and IP route-cache flow on a serial Int?

Hi, i was wondring if turning the ip route-cache on a serial Int connecting to a T1 line to the ISP is having adverse affect on the router or not assuming more processing power.
is there a collector by Cisco thatcan be downloaded for free and use to collect the flow?
Can CiscoWorks LMS be used "or VMS" to collect the netflow information?
Thanks very much for your help/feedback.
    Thx,
    Masood

    Masood,
Cisco have produced an excellent white paper on netflow performance - try searching for "NetFlow Performance Analysis".
Also, in the netflow section on Cisco's web site there is an extensive list of both commercial and freeware netflow applications. (You can't use CiscoWorks though.)

  • Iip web-cache redirect command problem

    Hello,
There is sample in : http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/lan/c3550/12112cea/3550scg/swwccp.htm
Fast Ethernet interfaces 0/2 to 0/5 are connected to the clients and they are configure as :ip wccp web-cache redirect in .And Fast Ethernet interface 0/1 is connected to the cache engine and it does not configure as : ip wccp web-cache redirect out.
    in : http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/software/ios121/121cgcr/fun_c/fcprt3/fcd305.htm
The sample in this doc is configure as :ip wccp web-cache redirect out.
I want to know the different of :ip wccp web-cahe redirect out and ip wccp web-cache redirect in. And in which condition I shall use ip wccp web-cache redirect out and in which condition I shall use ip wccp web-cache redirect in ?

    Sir,
The ip web-cache redirect in command is only a new addition in the late 12.1 and 12.2 train of IOS. Both commands do the same thing except the redirect in is on the interface where client sourced traffic enters the router and the redirect out is on the interface interface of the router. You do no use both at the same time.
My preference is for redirect in as the router does not need to route the packet because wccp picks the packet up on the incomming interface.
    Cheers
    Phil

  • Ip route cache-flow Vs ip flow ingress Vs ip flow egress

  • Netflow command and interface

    Hi,
I have a few simple questions regarding netflow. Would anyone please clarify them for me?
    1. I usually configured netflow with "ip route-cache flow" command. Anyway, I have seen articles mentioning "ip flow ingress" and "ip flow egress" commands. What is different exactly i.e. ip route-cache flow and ip flow ingress|egress? Which one should be used?
    2. I understand netflow needs to be configured on every interface to export completely netflow data. Is it correct?
    3. If there are 2 physical and 2 logical i.e. tunnel interfaces, how many/which interfaces should netflow be configured? Are only physical interfaces enough?
Please let me know if I misunderstand anything.
    Thank you very much,
    Nitass

    AFAIK:
    1. "ip route-cache flow" is deprecated starting in 12.2(18)SXD. See this URL for other IOS trains: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/ios/netflow/command/reference/nf_01.html#wp1049320
    2. It's generally correct, due to the unidirectional nature of NetFlow records. Otherwise, you run the risks such as only seeing one direction of a given "conversation".
    3. My understanding was NetFlow cache could only be enabled on layer-3 interfaces. However, on the catalyst 6000s (and sup720?), you can get layer-2 bridged traffic between hosts in the same VLAN, using the following config:
    ip flow ingress layer2-switched vlan
    ip flow export layer2-switched vlan
Then, there's this recent thread that makes it sound promising that layer-2 ports could become NetFlow-enabled, though it's not clear (to me) how it works out in practice:
    https://supportforums.cisco.com/message/678612#678612
So YMMV. The best bet is to actually attempt configuring it. Odds are the physical interfaces won't accept the "ip route-cache flow" or "ip flow ingress/egress" config.

  • Cisco Prime Infrastructure 1.3 - Assurance reporting

We have Assurance license and we are exporting netflow and pretty much everything is working fine. Traffic is seen, recognized by protocol, DSCP, source/destination IPs, etc.
Now, the question is, can dashlet present data that is less than one hour?
For example, you select Serial interface on MPLS router and it will show you IP addresses that used most amount of bandwidth in last hour, but it would be much better if we could chose much less amount of time (like 5 minutes or lower), because in case of temporary congestion it won’t give exact information who is using most of the traffic. We would like to see who is currently consuming most of the bandwitdth.
Or is there any other way to get info for interface level (or device) who’s using most and what type of traffic (something similar to show ip cache flow command on the router).

Under the "Detailed Dashboards" pages, you can customise the Time Frame in there.  Default is past hour but you can specify smaller and/or more specific time periods as necessary... I've checked that this works ok in CPI 1.3 for both the "Interface" and the "End User Experience" tabs.

  • Netflow Configuration Guide

I am trying to provide a guide on how to configure interfaces on Cisco routers to get the correct netflow sent to the CA Technologies NetQos product. Below is what I have so far, but there are so many veriables it is hard to make this a simple document. Can anyone provied some input on what I could do to clean this up?
Information that produced the directions below:
“ip route-cache flow” is collecting inbound netflow only, so to get the entire picture on what is coming in and out of a particular interface, this command needs to be added to all interfaces that receive traffic that may exit the interface to be monitored. Is this the correct approach?
For the IOS that added the “ip flow egress” command, is the “ip route-cache flow” command still used to get inbound flow information? I am confused on that.
Is there a case where the “ip flow ingress” is the only command that can be used? If so what is the recommended configuration?
    Interface Commands:
Cisco interface commands to be used are dependent on the router model, IOS level and commands supported. The following guidelines should help you to identify which commands to use. If the commands are allowed on the sub-interface, using them at this level will reduce the amount of traffic sent to the netflwo collector.
If your IOS level is below 12.4(2)T or 12.2(18)SXD and the ip route-cache flow is the only command available. Use this command on primary interfaces only (if you are trying to monitor a sub-interface, place the command on the primary interface for this sub-interface. It will apply to all sub-interfaces.) Add this command to all primary interfaces on the router that have incoming traffic that will exit on the interface to be monitored.
! Replace {#} with interface name
    Interface [#]
    ip route-cache flow
If your IOS level is 12.3 T and the “ip flow egress” command is the only command available, use this command ????????
If your IOS level is 12.4(2)T or 12.2(18)SXD or higher and the “ip flow egress” and “ip flow ingress” commands are both available, use both of these commands on the primary or sub-interface but not both.
! Replace {#} with interface or sub-interface name
    Interface [#]
    ip flow egress
    ip flow ingress

If your question is on when to export ingress Vs. egress flows.  Plixer has blogged extensively on this topic.  For example, lovemytool.com has a great post that will give you the cli syntax.

  • NetFlow

I have 6509 with a fiber attached 3750 attached that I want to monitor the bandwidth usage. I have read through the NetFlow and found it will do this and is supported by the 6509 but not the 3750. Does NetFlow need to be supported by the devices on both ends of the network link you are testing?

Thanks for responding to my question.
On my 6509 I have IP routing enabled but when I go to the fiber interface that the 3750 is attached to there is no "ip route-cache flow" command.
When I am on that interface and I do a "ip ?" it show the commands RSVP, RTP and VRF as the only options available.
Is there something else I need to do to get "route-cache flow" to work?
My 6509 is at Version 12.1(22)E2.
    Thanks
    Ken

  • Egress NetFlow on 7600

Is "ip flow egress" supported on this platform? Is it possible to collect bidir stats if Netflow configured as follows:
    interface vlan ...
    ip flow ingress
    ip flow egress

Rather, it depends on the version of the IOS you're running:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/ios/netflow/command/reference/nf_01.html#wp1012951
" If your router is running Cisco IOS release 12.2(14)S or a later release, or Cisco IOS Release 12.2(15)T or a later release, NetFlow accounting might be enabled through the use of the ip flow ingress command instead of the ip route-cache flow command.
    12.3(11)T
    The egress keyword was added."
Unless there's new advances, I don't think you can apply both "ingress" and "egress" on the same interface. NetFlow is based on unidirectional flow records.

  • NETFLOW ON SWITCHES?

    Guys,
    I have a C3560 (C3560-HBOOT-M) Version 12.2(25r)SE1, RELEASE SOFTWARE
    MODEL  WS-C3560G-24TS-S
Would it be possibel to configure netflow on this device.
I don't see any ip route-cache flow command.
    Looking forward to your answers.
    Nik

Netflow is not suported on Catalyst 3560 switches. Cisco doesn't document it very well as far as I've seen.
Think of Netflow as primarily a router technology. While most switches also route, the access switches (such as 3560 series) don't have the support for Netflow built into them. 4500 and 6500 series switches handle it via add-on to the low end supervisors (i.e. NFFC for some 4500 supervisors) or high end supervisors (such as Sup-720 in 6500's)

  • Ip flow-cache timeout active 2

Good afternoon.  On my 1841 when i enter the "ip flow-cache timeout active 2" command it accepts this command with no errors.  But when i look at my running-config this does not list.
I did the same thing on my 2811's and 3745 and it shows up in the running-config.
Should I assume if it doesnt' show up in my config file than it is not applied?
How can I verify that it is or isn't?
    Thanks...

Use the show commands "sh ip cache flow" and "sh ip flow export" to verify the NetFlow configurations. If the output of show command shows the active flow timeout to be 2, it has been applied.
