Sh voice port summary output meaning
Hello,
Can anyone explain to me the output meaning for each voice port result, such as admin up or down, or oper dorm or up or status and what does xcc-voice and efxs mean?
Thanks,

Channel 1 on the T1 is in admin state of up and not connected to a call or ringing. "Show isdn status" is best to check if the T1 is up, and this command is good to check what channels are currently in use on the T1.

Hi guys,
can somebody explain what is meant by "on-hook" and "off-hook" in this output? This seems confusing, because I knew these On-hook and Off-hook states are for telephones. The router is essentially a telephone on an FXO port. It's the customer-owned equipment attached to the analog loop from the carrier. On-hook is indicating the loop is idle or not in use. Off-hook indicates that the loop is electrically open by the router or something else attached to it.

Unable to configure voice ports on cisco2811
I have configured the Voice Gateway and calls are working internally.
I recently installed a WIC-1B-S/T-V3 card to prepare to getting outside line access.
To try a set of Dial-Peer and put the port command , but I have been rejected.
I've confirmed that IOS Version, compatibility of WIC,PVDM is installed.
How do I get my WIC card to work?
The following is a show command.

Interpreting show tfo connection summary output
In the output from the 'show tfo connection summary output' command there are 3 sections :
- Optimized Connection List
- Auto-Discovery Connection List
- Pass-Through Connections
The 'Pass-Through Connections' section is fairly self-evident, but what is the difference between entries in the 'Auto-Discovery Connection List' and the 'Optimized Connection List' sections ?
Also, I have some output that I am having difficulty interpreting :
Auto-Discovery Connection List
E: Established, S: Syn, A: Ack, F: Fin, R: Reset
s: sent, r: received, O: Options, P: Passthrough
Local-IP:Port Remote-IP:Port Conn-Type Orig-St Term-St
10.250.216.5:4050 10.250.195.3:27903 Int. Server SAsO UNU
10.250.195.7:443 10.250.216.5:27655 Ext. Server SAsO SAr
What are do the 'Int. Server' and 'Ext. Server' types mean under the column 'Conn-Type' ?
What are 'Orig-st' and 'Term-st'abbreviations for ? Original state/terminated state ??
Finally, what does the UNU under the Term-st column mean ?
Apologies for the many questions, but I can't find any answers in the Cisco config or command ref guides...
Thanks
Nigel.
Thanks
Nigel.Nigel,
The optimized connection list shows connections that are established and being optimized. The auto-discovery connection list shows connections that are still in the auto-discovery phase (i.e. the 3-way setup handshake has not completed).
The designation 'Int. Server' or 'Ext. Server' indicates whether the connection is sourced/destined from/to an internal process (such as WAFS, telnet, etc.) or an external host.
'Orig-st' and 'Term-st' are as you described them.
UNU = unknown.

No non-linear under voice-port to reslove hissing on NM-HDV
Hello.
I have a trouble with 2MFT on NM-HDV.
I can hear hissing on call.
So, i had configured no non-linear under voice-port, then i can't hear any hissing.
Instead, I can hear echo on call.
How can i fix it?
Regard,
john.Hell Venky.
Thnak you for your helping.
I tried to configure based on the web site what did you told me.
But i couldn't success it to resolve echo issue.
The voice gate have 12.4(1a) on Cisco 2851.
So the solution to reslove echo doesn't fit in my case.
As i mentioned, normally i can hear noise each i talk another persion. If i stop the conversation i can't hear noise. but i started to talk again, i can hear noise each time.
Thus i tried to disable "no non-linear" parameter, i can hear echo instead noise.
So i should choice if i can hear noise or echo.
And also, i tried to change input gain and output attenuation from -6 to 14, but the each still can hear.
out voip network toplolog is below.
NEC Digital Phone---NEC PBX---Gateway---(cat6500---MSPP(WAN Area)---cat6500)---Gateway---NEC Digital Phone.
If i make a call using Normal Phone (INot Digital Phone), I can't hear noise. Whenever i can hear noise with NEC Digital Phone.
Here is the option on cisco 2851 with 12.4
2851(config-voiceport)#?

AS5300 - Voice Port Configuration Problem
Hi guys,
I'm trying to configure a E1 PRI 8 Port Module on a AS5300 (IOS: 12.3(18)) but after I configured the controller, I can't find the voice ports. if I do a sh voice port summ there are no voice ports listed.
The controller is showing up in sh controllers e1 0.
Also under the dial-peer there is no port command..
Anybody has had this issue before?
Thanks.

Fax Blocked Voice Port (FXS)
hi,
an outgoing fax call blocked my voice port. it stays in a busy state for days... shut and no shut doesn't put the voice port in a dorm state again, only a reload will correct it... is there any solution instead reloading the c2800?
many thanksDino -
If you are running IOS 12.4, This seems to be attributed, possibly, to a known bug with the FXS port:

I'm trying to configure the voice-ports on a 2800 router with a 4 port FXO VIC and when I issue the voice-port command it only shows ports 50-50 so I use
voice-port 50/0/1 and it comes back with invalid input at marker and it points to the 50.

Lights on the FXO card are lit up but I do not have any cables plugged into them, am I missing something?
ThanksI'm guessing this is the info on the pvdm2?

What is the main difference between IVR session and Voice port ?
If we need 4 port for Voicemail and Auto-Attendant, we had configured 4 port of IVR session and 4 port of Voice port .
Is that correct, or only Voice port enough ?I found that shortly after my post, no change. I shut/no shut and I even reloaded the CME. Other ideas?

My customer has CUWL licensing and has (16) Unity(7.1) Voice Ports licensed today. Customer wants to add more Voice Ports, is this done thru the PUT tool or do I need a special part number, checked the Ordering guide, and went thru the Dynamic configurator but did not see any ordering options.
I assume it is done thru the PUT tool.My first guess, unless you just didn't mention the licensing portion of this downgrade, would be just that...Licensing:
License Files and MAC Addresses
Each license file (except for the demonstration license file) is registered to the MAC address of the network interface card (NIC) on the Cisco Unity Connection server. The license file for one server cannot be used on a second server (for example, because you want to replace the Connection server). You must obtain a replacement license file that is registered to the MAC address on the second server.
The license file can be registered to only one MAC address. If the Connection server has a dual NIC, you must either configure it for network fault tolerance, which assigns one MAC address to both NICs, or disable one of the NICs and use the MAC address for the other NIC.
When you order a license file for a dual NIC that has been configured for network fault tolerance, specify the virtual MAC address that applies to both NICs rather than the physical MAC address for either of the NICs. The license file is registered to the virtual MAC address, so the license will continue to be valid even if one of the NICs fails.
You'll need to contact [email protected] (or TAC, I suppose) and request a new license. You should be able to get a temporary license that will get the system up and running until the permanent license is issued.

Cisco 3640 cant configure voice-ports
I've an cisco 3640 with a VWIC-2MFT-E1 network module. Can anybody tell me why i cant configure any voice-port? without able to configure voice-port, i cant assign any port for my "dial-peer voice xx pots". Anybody has any solution?
what im trying to do is sending voice data traffic to 192.168.10.1
controller E1 1/0
framing NO-CRC4
clock source line primary
channel-group 0 timeslots 1-31
interface Serial1/0:0
bandwidth 2048
ip address 192.168.10.2 255.255.255.252
ip mtu 300
encapsulation ppp
no ip route-cache
no fair-queue
no cdp enable
dial-peer voice 777 pots
destination-pattern 77T
no digit-strip
direct-inward-dial
forward-digits allI've only got this from my controller E1
Vertigo(config-controller)#?
Controller configuration commands:
channel-group Specify the timeslots to channel-group mapping for an
interface
clock Specify the clock source for a DS1 link
default Set a command to its defaults
description Controller specific description
detect Enable detection of loopback request
exit Exit from controller configuration mode
framing Specify the type of Framing on a E1 link
guard-timer Guard timer (0-20) for xcsp calls - timer duration and
accept/reject on expiry
help Description of the interactive help system
line-termination Specify the line termination for E1
linecode Specify the line encoding method for a E1 link
loopback Put the entire E1 line into loopback
mode Configure the controller mode
no Negate a command or set its defaults
shutdown Shut down a E1 link (send Blue Alarm)
tdm-group Configure DS0 group for TDM
Do i need DSP for the voice-ports? Please guide me on what more module i need to get. Thanks!!

How do I stop the nidaq32.dll driving ports as outputs when it initialises?
I am using Visual Basic V6 (SP4) and the NI DIO24 card.
I am using V6.9 of the NI drivers.
In my VB project I include a Reference to NIDAQ32.DLL.
When the application runs (and the DLL is loaded and initialised) the card drives the ports as outputs and sets them high until my code is able to set the ports to the desired state. This has the effect of momentarily giving a high signal to anything attached to the card when my software starts up.
How do I prevent this from happening? Each time the DIO-24 resets, the lines are set to Input and pulled either high or low, based on a jumper setting. If you need the lines to be low on boot up, change the pull up jumper to the Low position.
If you have a configuration that requires some lines to be high and some to be low on start up, Chapter 3 of the Dio-24 User Manual (www.ni.com/manuals) shows how to do this.

Purpose of local-alerting under voice-port?
Hello;
During a recent migration I noticed a "local-alerting" command under a couple voice-port configurations:
voice-port 2/1:23
local-alerting
I did not enter the command in myself, and I checked with the other engineers and all are positive they did not enter the command.
These were found under T1 PRI circuit configs and only showed up under a few (2 or 3) from a set of about 12 total circuits on 2 seperate gateways.
I tried researching this command, and it is not under any command reference doc I looked through, google was of no help as well, it does not even come up as a listed command when entering "?" under voice-port......
Is any one familiar with this command?
What does it do?
Are there any reference documents or links?
Would it be possible for it to automatically appear after certain events? (no one recalls entering this in)
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you. This command only makes sense when local bypass of DSP is used, In which case to use DSP to generate local bypass ringback. it's a hidden command, that's probably why you don't see it in the command reference or any document avaialble.

SRST advice.translation-profile on voice-port drops after router reboot.
I have MGCP gateways that configured as SRST gateways too.
I have translation from internal numbers and vice verse then I use in config.
Here is the final result:
<b>
voice-port 0/0/0:15
translation-profile incoming 1
translation-profile outgoing 2
</b>
this translations work when gateway come in SRST fallback mode.
But
<b>
translation-profile incoming 1
translation-profile outgoing 2
</b>
configs drop from voice-port 0/0/0:15 when I have router rebootYou probably are using the 'ccm-manager config-server' command to download the MGCP config on registration. This is fine for basic operation, but part of the operation is that it will delete any existing voice configs. Therefore the voice port will be deleleted and this takes the translation profile along with it.
If your configuration is static and there are no changes being made on he CUCM gateway config, the easiest solution is to remove the 'ccm-manager config-server' command. Once you do this the other commands on the voice port will survive the reload since the router will no longer delete and then re-add the voice port.
If you do need the config download, you can use Embedded Event Manager (EEM) to re-add the translation profiles on the voice port after a reload. We would need a copy of your configuration to confirm the interface details to re-apply the configs against. If you want to try this option, paste your config into this posting. -
How many digital voice ports can Cisco 3663 support ?
How many digital voice ports can Cisco 3662 support ?
They said "Medium complexity Codecs: 360 (E1)/288 (T1) and High-complexity Codecs: 180 (E1)/144 (T1) "in Cisco 3660 voice gateway data sheet .
But another document said you just configured 4E1 on a Cisco 3660 router .
Which one is true ?Hi,
There are some other issue except physically accepted number of voice port.
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/routers/ps259/products_data_sheet09186a00800921ed.html
page will give you better idea. Even though you can install many voice ports into a router , there is other limits you encounter.
Bets Regards
