Shake Floating licence Server?

Hi Guys,
I remember working at a company a few years ago (back in Shake 2.5 - 3.5) and the licencing was controlled by 'Shake Floating Licence Server" software that ran from the company's server
The company had 4 licences that could be run at one time - on any machine in the building i think
Any one know if something like this still exists for Shake 4.1?

Yes you could up till 4.0 but 4.1 doesn't even use a serial or license anymore.

How do I point my RDS 2012 R2 server to pick up the RDS licences from a dedicated RDS Licence server

I have configured a dedicated server 2012 R2 box to be the RDS licence server for the Domain.
When I use the Review configuration option, I get 2 green tick circles which indicate to me that all is well. However, when I built a separate RDS Server 2012 R2 box, this server does not seem to be picking up a licence.
Can anyone help?

Floating Licence

Does Adobe Acrobat offer any type of floating licence? We are trying to incorporate digital signatures that can only be done in reader if the pdf is saved in Acrobat with the "extend features in adobe reader" function turned on. We don't/aren't going to buy multiple seats of Acrobat just for one function so there must be another way to do this. Any help would be greatly appriciated.

No they don't. Acrobat and all other desktop products are licensed to an individual user and installed/activated on a single computer (with the option of a single copy on a home computer used by the same person).

Can Photoshop Elements Use Floating Licence?

Hello,
We would like to know the following:
1. Can we acquire Photoshop Elements (PSE) 11 instead of PSE12?
2. Can we install instead of 1 licence per PC is to set up network as floating licence? For example if we acquire 6 licences, instead of installing only to six PC, the license can be floating so more PC can access the software, but only 6 can work at given time. This is to maximize license use.
3. Where can I talk for live support?
I am currently located at Philippines (national capital region).

You really need to be speaking directly to Adobe about this (this is a user to user forum) but generally
You can still get PSE11 from third party vendors but not Adobe.
To PSE11 I believe the licence only allows installation on two computers at any one time, and only one of which can be used at any one time.
PSE12 uses a new 'sign-in' authorisation method. You can actually install the software on as many PC's as you have, but only two can ever be signed in at any one time and therefore usable. Note though that even with two signed in the licence only allows for one to be in use at any one time.
I doubt your network suggestion will work. Elements is really designed to be run on a standalone PC by a user with administrative rights.

Users have to enter licence server name after server reboot

Hi all,
After every reboot of their server, every users of my customer have to enter the licence server name to be able to connect to SAP. Any idea why it's happening ? Is their a file where the name of the server is saved which could be deleted ?

did you change the IP address?
did you change any hardware piece in the server?
In the client you can find a file called b1-current-user.xml in Application Data\SAP\SAP Business One folder.
Open this file, and if it corrupted delete it. SBO will create another with the right configuration.

Error: IP Address or Server Name for the Licences Server

I am getting this error after installing SAP Server and after that the client. But the Error keep Comming back:

Connection to Licence Server fails - not authenticated

System:
SAP B1 2007A PL42
SAP Client, SAP Server and SAP Service Manager are running on my local computer.
Service Manager and Licenze Server are running.
Try to login as manger to a client database in SAP B1.
The login fails with error message "Connection to Licence Server is not authenticated" ("Verbindung zu Lizenz Server ist nicht authentifiziert!").
Login to other client databases installed in the same system without any problem.

Does the database name contain a '&' sign? If it does, could you please try restoring the database with a name that does not contain the '&' sign.
When the database name is forwarded to the licence service in an XML format and there are certain characters which are not allowed to be in an XML: > < & ' " \
The database name must not include such characters and this is what causes the error message you are receiving.
In order to solve this issue, please follow the steps below:
1. Detach DB, check datafile.mdf and logfile_log.log for special signs. If necessary rename.
2. Attach it again. Make sure no special sign e.g. like "&" are used for the name of DB as well

Licence server - enter valid password

Hello Experts,
I wanted to upgrade my 9.0 version to 9.1 version. But When I enter the B1SiteUser password to start upgrading, I am getting this error : "Could not connect to licence server; enter valid password."
For your information:
In Turkey Localization, you should do this step (c:\Program Files (x86)\SAP\SAP Business One ServerTools\System Landscape Directory\apache- tomcat-6.0.35\bin\) and rename the tomcat6w.exe to SLDw.exe) and add "-Duser.country=US -Duser.language=en".
I also changed "the current language for the non-unicode programs" from Turkish to English in Region and Language set-ups of Windows.
But no luck.

I have same problem with B1 9.1, Version for Hana, but I cannot apply the workaround of San Xu on linux server.
I try a clean installation of 9.1 servertools on linux server, but on windows server, when I run the Upgrade.exe for the databases, the error appears: "Could not connect to licence server; enter valid password".
I've the italian localization.
Can someone help me?

8.8 Connection with licence Server failed

Hi Experts,
   I upgraded my database with version 8.8 . I also got the new licences for it and i imported it too at server.
Now when i try to get connect with the server it will give the error that' connection with licence server failed'. I tried with the server name and with server ip in licence server selection but it did'nt help me .

This following solution to use in the resolving of your problem is from SAP note :
   1. First locate the IP address as follows:
         1. Select "START"
         2. Choose "Run" and type in "command" in the "Open" field
         3. A black window appears
         4. Wait until the command "C:\>" is visible
         5. Write the word "PING" and then type in the Server name and press "Enter" and the line with your IP Address appears (it says "Reply from IP ADDRESS").

Connection to licence server not authenticated

Hello,
I have made a backup of a SBO database in SQL Server 2000 and restored this over an existing database in SQL Server 2005. Made a backup of this one and then opened SBO and updated the administration.
Unfortunately I get the system message (after entering username and password) once updated: Connection to licence server not authenticated
The administration from the client is in SBO2005A SP01 PL41 and mine is SBO2007A.
How can I get around this. The other administrations I can access..

You could not use a 2005 client on a 2007 Server
Or Upgrade 2005 Patch 41 to 2007

Best practice for licence server for RDS Farm & Certificate errors

Hello,
I am in the process of creating an RDS farm using Server 2008 R2. I have three Session Hosts and a Connection Broker.
I have a set of 10 user CALs available and also another 20 on our current RDS server which will need migrating once we go live with the farm.
I understand the User CALs need to be installed on another Server 2008 R2 and I am wondering what is best practice. We are running on an entirely virtual environment and it would be simple enough to create another server and install the CALs on there.
The only issue with that is that I would need to create a replica of this new machine for DR purposes, but this would take up valuable space which may not be necessary.
We are planning on creating replicas of one of the Session hosts and the broker for DR, so I am guessing I would need to install some CALs on the Session Host which is going to be replicated.
There are a few options and I am just wondering what is the best way to go about things.
Also, as an aside, I am getting an annoying certificate error each time I log a test user onto the RDS farm - I think this is because I am using the DNS alias of the RDS Farm to log on. Is there an easy way to get around this, other than the 'Do not show
this message again'. I have been doing some research and the world of Certificates is very confusing!!

Hi Caroline,
Firstly for your License related issue, you can perform the step on any VM or can create the new VM as replica for RDSH server also. But please be sure that you have installed RD License server on it, activate it and then install RDS CAL on it. But be safe
if possible don’t install RD License server with RDCB, please make that out of it as little away. As you can also install RD License server with AD or make replica of that and install RDL on that.

What’s the specified certificate error which you are receiving?
If you're going to allow users to connect externally and they will not be part of your domain, you would need to deploy certificates from a public CA. In meantime you can refer blog for getting insight for certificate case.

How to change licence Server

Hi everybody,
I can't connect with local databases. When I turn on the SBO it appears if i want to connect with SQL 2005 or 2008 and the servers, but my local server doesn't appear.
I've tried to remove all servers from Service Manager ang it appears the same
If I add only my locast server, doesn't appear.
Which is the problem. Which is the solution?

PXE Imaging & Licence Server Comms

Hi Guys,
long time forum reader, but first time poster - therefore please overlook the low post count.
We have a ZCM 10.3.3 setup, and i'm struggling to acheive Imaging connection.
Due to a lack of IP addresses in our ZCM subnet (DMZ) we have created a private LAN for commissioning new devices.
A router has been put in place to forward ICMP requests from the Imaging Satellite on the Private LAN to the ZCM Servers on the DMZ subnet, but im still getting comms errors.
From reading these forums, i see TID: 7004082 is very similar - but i'm hoping there will be a solution to my slightly different scenario.
Basically "office politics" means that our only communications from the Private LAN to the DMZ are ICMP requests (as we discovered early on that the Zen Satellites will not promote to imaging servers unless they can Ping the ZCM Primary Servers).
I have checked the novell-pbserv & prebootpoilcy logs etc (on the Imaging Satellite within the Private LAN), and see that after obtaining a DHCP request the client device (to be imaged) contacts the Preboot policy service, then exits.
The logs say "Failed to connect to ZCM Server (IP) at port 443, error code 7
What network requests are the clients trying to send through to the DMZ? and is it possible to configure them to look at the Imaging Satellite on the Private LAN, rather than go across to the DMZ, as due to the politics mentioned above, i don't think we will be able to make any further network changes.
I have looked at the conf files in the preboot folder on the Imaging Satellite but the only changes i have tried (and still failed with) is changing the HTTP server IP (novell-zenimgweb.conf) from the Primary server to the IP of the imaging satellite.
Any help would be appreciated!

Licence Server Selection Problem

Hi I am using B1 Version 8.8 PL 15.
I have admin rights in my system even though unable to access services in service manager.
and every time i have to enter license manager details (IP or Name(localhost)) whenever logging into the database .
I try to change permission for many folders & files but nothing resolved my issue.
and it was working fine till last week.

Thanks for your suggestion your assumption is right.
Some of the registry files has been corrupted during previous login and that is too while loading SAP B1.
So its deletes some of the values in User Authorisation profiles in registry.
Thats how i lost my Admin Rights & that reflected in Licence Manager Also.
So i created new user profiles in network now its working more than fine

Connection to Licence Server Failed

Hi There,
I installed SAP B1 2005A SP01 PL22 on a vista machine succesfully but I am now unable to connect to the License Server. When I switch off the Firewall on the License Server I can connect succesfully, but unfortunately I am not allowed to switch off the firewall for other security reasons. My question now is; What do I need to add to the exeptions in Firewall settings to allow the connection to the License server? I have added the port 300000 but that doesnt do the trick. SAP B1 is in the exeptions and so is Server Manager. Does anyone know if there is a specific exeption I need to add for this? Any Help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi There,
The Firewall definately has an effect with this issue, because when I switch it off it works but when its on it doesnt. The port I added is in fact 30000. But doesnt work. Also, it doesnt have anything to do with Vista, because when I connect my XP machine I have exactly the same problem when connecting. What does SQL Browser have to do with this issue? It is started though, but doesnt have any affect.
