Shake on iMacG5

Will shake 4.1 run on an iMac G5 with the older non intel processor?
iMac G5   Mac OS X (10.4.2)

I actually am pretty sure that shake will work on an iMac G5 with 2.0ghz. I was wondering this because I am using the shake 4 tryout version and nothing will correctly import into shake. All the nodes are red and show no image. In the command line at the bottom it says "node is in error." What is the problem and how do I fix it?

If you have a tool, try removing the battery cover and chech out. Some times the camera pin may have been misplaced. If so, you can fix it yourself.

  • How can I get Shake to show up in Launchpad?

I have Shake 4.1 installed on my Mid-2009 MBP, and I have Lion installed. (just to head off all the nonsensical responses- yes, Shake is installed and is working perfectly, never mind how it's still there after the Lion upgrade). Anyway, the shkqtv and shkv flipbook apps show up just fine in Launchpad, yet the Shake app itself isn't on any of my Launchpad pages. How can I get the Shake app to join its compatriots in Launchpad? I've tried the Launchpad-Control applet for the Sysprefs pane, but Shake doesn't show up there, either. Thanks in advance for your help!

I have the same problem.  Does anyone have an answer?

It worked fine until I charged the phone this evening. After that suddenly I'm facing this. Please can anyone help me to recover this issue? pls!

This is covered in the basics section.
    A restore loses nothing.
A restore does.  If you are using the iphone as designed, then everything should be on your computer.

  • Can't Turn Of "shake to shuffle"!!!! iTouch 2G iOS 4.2.1

I feel I have a very unique problem, I can't turn off the Shake to Shuffle mode (I'm going to call it S2S.) Before you say it, I know HOW to turn it off, but it won't actually let me. Actually, I can't change any of the settings in the "music" tab under settings. I change it and play around with other settings, then check back before exiting the settings app and it's the way I set it up. However, after I exit out of the settings and then immediately go back in, everything under the "music" tab is set back to default.
I've tried everything short of a full restore, simply because I JUST put my music on and I don't wanna go through that again! lol I've done the power+home button reset several times and tried to see if there were software updates, etc. Nothings worked!
Usually wouldn't be a big deal, but it always shuffles during my favorite songs. Also, the music player has been randomly stopping in the middle of a song. Not pausing, but stopping, as in there is no "now playing" but it happens on something like song 50 out of 1500, so its not like it was the end of the album...
    Any help for either problem?

had to reset it and set up as new ipod. lost music, but it works fine now.

  • I dropped my iphone 4s and the screen quickly went to stripes then to black. After pressing buttons the next day, the phone works, but the charge was totally depleted and the screen shakes. Is there a fix for this?

I dropped my iphone 4s (it had an otterbox-thick case on it at the time of drop) last night and the screen quickly went to different colored stripes then to black. The phone wouldn't work. This morning, I was pressing all the buttons I could-at the same time and the phone turned on with the battery completely depleted. At the time of the drop the phone had 98% charge. I plugged the phone in and began charging, however, the screen shakes. Is there a fix for the shaking of the screen? The phone works otherwise. Unfortunately, I don't have warranty on it and have only had the phone since November.

Obviously your phone was damaged by the fall. Take it in for evaluation, servicing and/or replacement at an Apple store or authorized service provider.
Since it is out of warranty you will, most likely, have to pay.

    Hi,
I'm having a problem with the stabilization all of a sudden. I did an analyze. The amount of shake isn't terrible but it's there. There are no squiggly lines in the clip I'm trying to stabilize. As you can see in the screenshot that it allows me to click the "Smooth clip motion" but the slider is not there for zoom. Any ideas why this is happening all of a sudden? It happens on all clips in this event. The entire event was analyzed after importing.

What program are you using for this editing?

  • IPod Touch shake to shuflle not completely turned off

    *The Problem:*
On my 8GB iPod Touch, there seems to be shuffle bug, which occurs with both OS 3.1.3 and iOS 4.0.
Shake to shuffle seems to often shuffle, even when Shake-to-Shuffle is turned off in "Settings".
*The way the manual says it should work:*
When I let a playlist (or album) play to completion, and keep the Touch completely still, then after it goes to sleep (in 1 minute), I can hit the Home button once to wake up the music player (but not unlock the Touch), then double-click Home to get the music player controls on-screen, and finally hit the Play icon to restart the same playlist (or album) which had last played.
    *The way it actually works:*
However, even with Shake-to-Shuffle turned Off in Settings, if the iPod is shaken for a few seconds after it goes to sleep, then most of the time (but not always) when I hit the Home button once to wake up the music player (without unlocking), then double-click Home to get the music player controls, and finally hit the Play icon, then some random album will generally (but not always) be played.
If I then put the Touch to sleep, hold it perfectly still, hit the Home button once to wake it up, then double-click Home to get the music player controls, and then hit the Play icon, the original playlist will begin as expected.
    *Apparent problem:*
It seems that when the Touch is asleep, it erroneously picks up motion, and then thinks it should shuffle (even though Shake-to-Shuffle is turned Off) when the Home button is used to restore the music player controls, (while the Touch is otherwise still asleep and is not being unlocked).
I've tested two different 8GB Touch units, and they both exhibit the same problem, wherein the last played playlist (or album) is not being played after shaking the Touch while it is asleep.
    *Any Suggestions or Solutions?*
Has anybody else seen this problem? Or know a solution?
    Thanks...

    1. Check settings > Music > Shake to shuffle ON
    2. If IPOD is locked, double click home button. When the controls appear, shake rapidly.
    3. If not locked, you should be in the music app.

  • My iMacG5 will only boot to white screen, gray apple and spinning gear. Help?

My iMacG5 will only boot to white screen, gray apple and spinning gear. Help?
Also not totally sure if it's an Intel based computer, but that's what I recall. Any way to check, since I can't get to About This Mac window?
It's running on OSX Leopard 10.5.4
First symptom = running slowly - then it kind of froze with color wheel spinning - thought a forced shut down would help - help power button til off, then white screen, gray apple and spinning gear.
    Have tried...
    1. Turn off the computer by choosing Shut Down from the Apple menu, or by holding the power button until the computer turns off.
    2. Unplug all cables from the computer, including the power cord.
    3. Wait 10 seconds.
    4. Plug in the power cord while simultaneously pressing and holding the power button on the back of the computer.
    5. Let go of the power button.
    6. Press the power button once more to start up your iMac.
Then try booting from your install disc again.
    - No change
    And...
Booting From An OS X Installer Disc
      1. Insert OS X Installer Disc into the optical drive.
      2. Restart the computer.
      3. Immediately after the chime press and hold down the "C" key.
      4. Release the key when the spinning gear below the dark gray Apple logo
          appears.
      5. Wait for installer to finish loading.
    - The fan just got louder.
    Thanks for your help.

You need to do an Erase and Install or an Archive and Install depending on whether the hard drive is OK or needs to be reformatted.
Start by booting from your Leopard DVD. The rest is just following directions.
How to Perform an Archive and Install
An Archive and Install will NOT erase your hard drive, but you must have sufficient free space for a second OS X installation which could be from 3-9 GBs depending upon the version of OS X and selected installation options. The free space requirement is over and above normal free space requirements which should be at least 6-10 GBs. Read all the linked references carefully before proceeding.
    1. Be sure to use Disk Utility first to repair the disk before performing the Archive and Install.
Repairing the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Installer menu (Utilities menu for Tiger, Leopard or Snow Leopard.) After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer. Now restart normally.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
    2. Do not proceed with an Archive and Install if DU reports errors it cannot fix. In that case use Disk Warrior and/or TechTool Pro to repair the hard drive. If neither can repair the drive, then you will have to erase the drive and reinstall from scratch.
    3. Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When you reach the screen to select a destination drive click once on the destination drive then click on the Option button. Select the Archive and Install option. You have an option to preserve users and network preferences. Only select this option if you are sure you have no corrupted files in your user accounts. Otherwise leave this option unchecked. Click on the OK button and continue with the OS X Installation.
    4. Upon completion of the Archive and Install you will have a Previous System Folder in the root directory. You should retain the PSF until you are sure you do not need to manually transfer any items from the PSF to your newly installed system.
    5. After moving any items you want to keep from the PSF you should delete it. You can back it up if you prefer, but you must delete it from the hard drive.
    6. You can now download a Combo Updater directly from Apple's download site to update your new system to the desired version as well as install any security or other updates. You can also do this using Software Update.

  • My iPhone 5s rattles internally when I shake it. (it's not the home button)

I've only had my iPhone 5s for 2 days but I just noticed that when I shake it, there is a rattling sound coming from inside the phone. I've done some research on this and found similar complaints from other people who also said their 5s rattles, but the big difference between their complaints and mine is that the majority of other people's complaints is that their iPhone 5s rattles from the Home button which seems to be accepted as a normal thing, while my iPhone 5s' Home button does NOT rattle when I shake it, and the source of the rattling sound is internal, behind the screen. It sounds like some small piece got dislodged and is now moving around freely when I shake it. It also seems to come from somewhere near the top half of my phone, not the bottom.
Obviously I'm a bit concerned about this, especially since this is a product by Apple, which is not known for shoddy build quality (yes, even despite that their products are assembled in China, Apple still tends to have good build quality).
I'm not overly OCD, but when things rattle it bothers me because 1. It's simply annoying and 2. It's only normal to assume that something may have broken inside and now I have doubts whether my brand new iPhone 5s is even working at 100% or not.
Does anyone else have the same problem I have? Please don't reply with Home button issues as I've stated clearly that my issue is NOT coming from the Home button but rather elsewhere, internally. If you are knowledgeable about my situation please let me know what the problem is and how I can resolve it, thanks!
If it matters at all my 5s is the gold one with 32GB.

It will be the camera, the lens need a moveable bit so it can autofocus.
It was like that on the iphone 4S too.
Some rattle louder than others but its nothing to worry about and Apple won't change it as a brand new one will also rattle.

  • Shake reduction in Photoshop CC (2014) is 20 to 50 times slower than in Photoshop CC

I asked the same question earlier and got no good answer.
I have replaced my graphics card and software several times and it had made no difference. I even removed my graphics card and it made no difference.  I went from an HD 7750 to a Firepro V3900 to a GeForce 430 to no graphics card at all - each time removing all traces of previous graphics software per manufacturers instructions.  No matter what, Photoshop CC (2014) takes minutes (or never completes) to do the same action that Photoshop CC does in under 5 seconds.  Have removed and reinstalled Creative Cloud app and all Abobe apps - still no change.

Perhaps to avoid any ambiguity, we should get a bit more specific.  I say this because given a particular blur trace, the filter will commence pre-processing the image before you hit OK.  How about we all try the Shake Reduction function on the very same image with both Photoshop CC 14.x and Photoshop CC (2014).
Here's a test image to try it with:  http://Noel.ProDigitalSoftware.com/ForumPosts/ElTeide.jpg
Here's a controlled way to test:
Set either your status indicator (at the bottom-left of your work area) or your Info panel to read out the Timing of operations.
Start Filter - Sharpen - Shake Reduction.
Allow the blur estimation process to complete, then press [ OK ].
Edit - Undo (or press Control-Z)
Now press Control-F to repeat the filter from start to finish without the UI.
Read the time it took to complete from the status or info panel.
Do steps 4,5,6 several times and note the SHORTEST time.
Time to complete the Control-F operation:
    Photoshop CC 14.x:  20.4 seconds
    Photoshop CC (2014):  22.1 seconds
I found kind of the opposite of JJ above...  For me it seemed kind of like Ps 2014 used a bit less CPU time overall...
