Shall I buy iPad Air 2?

Now I have an iPad Mini 1 with 16Gb and you can feel it slow when you are working with heavy documents or editing some that requires power so I want to use my iPad at university but I don't know if I should continue with iPad Mini or upgrade to iPad Air 2 128Gb...
What do you think I should do?

The ipad air 2 flies like he wind compared to the ipad mini.  Here are the benchmarks.
http://www.primatelabs.com/blog/2013/11/ipad-mini-benchmarks/
There are two sets of charts.  The first is running one processor.  The second is for running all three processors.  Whether or not an app can take max advantage of all three processors depends on how the app is written.

Even good when compared to the MacBook Air.

Welcome to the US!  I think you can just take your ID card to the Apple store or shop online : http://store.apple.com/us/browse/campaigns/education_pricing
the site has all the info for eligibility and available items for purchase -- I think you can type in your school to see if on list of approved schools. I think the ID checking is rather benign. discounts are modest from what I recall.

  • I to buy iPad Air , can i use Microsoft Office on it ?

Hi, i am considering to buy the new iPad Air , although it all for my work purpose , i wanted to know can i use the Microsoft Office the same way i use on my Macbook ?  please help me with the suggestions .

Microsoft haven't yet released an app version of their office programs, but there are apps that support word, excel, and powerpoint documents on an iPad.
The options include Apple's Pages app for Word documents, Numbers for Excel spreadsheets and Keynote for Powerpoint. And from third-parties apps such as Documents To Go ('premium' version) and QuickOffice Pro HD.

  • HT1766 If I buy iPad air do I have to go with one SIM card or can I have any sim any time

If I buy a new iPad air can I use any sim or do I have one locked to the iPad

Depends on how you buy the iPad.
Most iPads are unlocked so any sim card from any carrier can be used with them.  But some Carriers offer subsidized iPads which are locked to the carrier that sells them and as such can only take a sim card from said carrier.
If you buy the iPad from an Apple store for full price it should be unlocked for use with any compatible GSM sim card.

  • Can I buy iPad air in japan for use in Indonesia?

Can I buy an iPad air in japan for use in Indonesia?

The forums are littered with people asking similar questions but the answer is always that you should not consider only the technical implications of doing so.
Will it work? Probably, but you may not be able to take full advantage of the LTE connectivity because the LTE frequencies differ by both country and operator. The iPad would default back to 3G speeds. Secondly, an iPad Air bought in Japan is warranted ONLY in Japan. If something goes wrong, you will need to physically get it back there for service or replacement under warranty.
It's very likely worth waiting (if it's not yet available) or spending the extra money to buy it in Indonesia but the choice is ultimately yours.

  • Buying iPad Air from Dubai

I am thinking of buying an iPad Air 32 GB Wifi+Cellular from Dubai. However I will be mostly using it in Bahrain or Singapore or India.
I need to know two things in this context:
    1. Is the warranty (international?) applicable in the above mentioned countries?
    2. Does the iPad Air in UAE come without FaceTime / iCloud? I couldn't see any reference to this on the Apple UAE Store though.
(I will be surprised if it doesnt have, because whatever iPads/iPhones that I have seen in Bahrain do come with FaceTime (including mine) and they are all imported from UAE!)
    Thanks in advance

Thanks, I will prefer not to take a chance.
    | also have an option to purchase from HK. I know iPads are sold with FaceTime there, but are iPads locked to carrier? Because like I said, I will be using it in other countries and need an LTE unlocked version.

  • HT4572 If I buy iPad Air with a carrier and cancel it can I use other abroad?

I'm from Bulgaria and my question is can I buy an iPad Air cellular with one of the proposed carriers can I disable it and use other in my country? If i buy it from Amazon do I have to look for unlocked one?

Apple Australia are selling the iPhone 3G for A$719, the iPhone 3Gs 16 GB for A$879, the iPhone 3Gs 32 GB for A$1040. No contract. After allowing for tax differences, at the moment these are around $100 more expensive than USA prices (Apple tend to set and keep prices relative to the date the item was released, regardless of further changes in exchange rates). This is about A$500 more than an equivalent iPod Touch, so you are paying a premium.
I am also contemplating buying a replacement iPhone without a phone contract, as most of the time I do not need to use the amount of call time required by a contract. I can already change my data package on a month to month basis. My use pattern is generally a couple of months with no real need for a phone, followed by slightly less than a month of intensive data use, usually in remote areas. Also my partner really, really wants to grab my existing iPhone to replace the iPod Touch she grabbed earlier. The extra iPhone facilities really do give it a decent edge over the iPod. In particular, the always present camera proved way more handy than I ever expected. So I am being encouraged to upgrade.
Still unknown is whether I can change SIM cards on an ad hoc basis. All major Australian phone companies sell iPhones (except most have stock shortages). Some carriers are only workable in major cities (but have cheap pre paid cards). Others are really expensive, but work well in country areas. Being able to run multiple appropriate SIM cards on different carriers would be really helpful.

  • Buying iPad Air 2 4g in U.S.

I found answers to this question in a 2012 topic... just to make sure:
If I buy an iPad Air2 with cellular in the U.S. can I use it here in UK?
    thanks!

    Greetings smboss,
With the announcement of the iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3, it is not surprising that you may have questions surrounding pre-ordering or our trade-in offer! With multiple iPads to trade-in and of course looking to get the best deal on your next big purchase, I am glad you have reached out to us for clarification on what you should expect when you visit the store.
With the Trade Up to iPad promotion, it is my understanding that your trade-in value would be based on what you intend on purchasing. If you are intending on purchasing the iPad Air 2, you should receive a $200 gift card and $50 coupon for each of your qualifying trade-ins. If you were to choose to purchase the iPad mini 3, you would receive a $175 gift card and a $25 coupon for qualifying trade-ins. Please keep in mind that there is a limit of 2 trade-ins per person.
That being said, I am not sure you would be able to combine these coupons and gift cards from the two trade-ins to put towards the purchase of one iPad Air 2. I am reaching out to the appropriate teams to research this further, and will contact you when I have more information to share.
In the meantime, I greatly appreciate your patience! If you should have any questions, please let me know.
    Respectfully,

  • To buy or not to buy ipad air

Not exactly a "user" question.  I am new to this and didn't know how to post to the category I wanted.
Anyway, Have never had a tablet.  Am considering the ipad air.  Have seen lots of discussion about freezing and crashing.  Has this problem been fixed yet.  If not, is there a particular touter that solves the problem, or a particular set up that fixes things.  I like the air, however am worried about this wifi problem.  I don't think the Samsung Galaxy 10 or the Nexus 10 has this crashing problem.
Help me to get this air and not have crashing and freezing problems.
    Thanks

The reason you see far more reports about iPads crashing is that they are more popular. Yes, iPads crash (rarely). So do Samsung tablets, Nokia Tablets, Mac computers, Windowns computers. I've had an iPad Air for a couple of months now. It has worked perfectly. I don't recall it ever crashing and I don't do anything special to keep it from doing so.

  • Can I return my iPad air

I Just bought iPad air on 3/10/2013. Then I saw the iPad air 2  opened. I really want to buy iPad Air 2 more than iPad air. How can I return my iPad air to ipad air2.

    No.
Apple does not do or accepts trade-ins for cash toward new Apple products. Apple isn't like a car dealer.
You will have to sell your current iPad on your own and use the financial proceeds toward the purchase of a new iPad.

  • Are iPad Air and iPad Mini Retina both "SIM unlocked" in US? Can I use SIM cards sold in other countries?

I'm planning to buy iPad Air and iPad Mini Retina during my trip to US.
    Are they both "SIM unlocked"?
Can I use SIM cards sold in other countries?
Do I need any treatment or/and application when purchase?

If you are not concerned about LTE bands (which will be more diverse and hit-or-miss) the only ones that will matter are these...
    3G: UMTS/HSPA/HSPA+/DC-HSDPA (850, 900, 1700/2100, 1900, 2100 MHz)
    2G: GSM/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz)
This covers almost all the 2G and 3G standards. You will most likely be ok on 3G and in edge cases, at an absolute minimum you will have EDGE speeds since both US and EU frequencies are covered - blech :-)
