Shape fill colour preview

Hi ,
I have been searching around the setting and the net and no luck , wondering how to turn off fill clour preview of a vector shape before the path is closed .
I am in Photoshop CC.

I am drawing irregular vector shapes with fill colour . However , i do not want the fill colour to be previewed before it closed.
In CS6 , i pressed 1 to make opactity 10% to draw first and 0 to resume solid colour .
But when i just installed CC , i was amazed that the the path has not solid fill colour previewd before i closed the path/shaped . The thing is today when i was trying to draw again , the fill colour preview appeared again . So, i guess there might be a setting to toggle the preview.

Resetting the default shape fill to follow the selected forgeround colour - Bug?

Hi guys,
Clean install CS6 - When i choose a shape layer and draw a shape it fills to the colour of my selected foreground colour. This is the way i mostly work.
However i have found if you set the colour fill for the shape layer in the top horizontal context menu, it then will not allow me to revert to my original method of working. I simply cant find a way to use the current foreground colour as a default fill for shapes anymore.
can anyone help me?

nope.
Basically, the default functionality is FG for shape fill. So say, if i toggle using x it will alteratively create black and white shapes.
If, however i set the colour here (at any time).......
......... it loses that initial functionality and i simply cannot get back to the original behaviour.
I have tried this on 3 colleages machines.

How can I make PDF forms filled in Preview show correctly in Acrobat?

Dears list members, there is a known issue with PDF forms filled in Preview: the fields do not show properly in Adobe Acrobat. How can this issue be solved? On the internet, I found two basic solutions: (a) to flatten the document by printing it as a PDF and (b) to use a costum-made script. Is there an official correction for this bug that does not involve installing suspicious scripts? Thanks!

Changing fill colour for partly transparent images

Does anyone know how to change the fill colour used for partly transparent images? I have a bunch of PNGs that I made for use as clip art, which I imported into iPhoto (that way I can use the media browser with Pages and Keynote).
Unfortunately, the images (which are black) are shown on top of a black rectangle both in iPhoto and the media browser. I've tried changing the background colour to both gray and black, but the 'fill' colour stays black.

There's no way to change it if you want to keep the transparency for use in other applications or web pages.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.

Flatten transparency Fill colour feathering?

Basically the way I normally filled colours was either make live paint, OR flatten stransparency on my strokes, and to use the paint bucket. I have mostly used teh flatten transparency way to paint, but this tiem when I try to change the colour of my fills, it creates a feather/halo of some sort around my line art and fill colour. When I colour i only use fills, so I dont get added edges to my stroke. I have taken a screen shot of what it is doing.
Is it normal to have white edges around dark on dark colours?

Is this a CYMK-document and your strokes are 100% K?
Then it's just a screen display issue, will be OK in print (at least when trapping is handled correctly). If you need to eliminate the pixel border around the black strokes for use on screen you'll have to use rich black (but you'll be in RGB-mode in that case anyway).

Filled colour as a variable? and setting layer to not block the content underneath?

I wonder if it's possible to take the filled colour (filled with myColor.setRGB(0x993366); like a colouring style) and set the colour filled to be a value of a variable in an if statement? if yes, anyone know how to do it?
and is it possible to set a layer's content so that it does not block any button underneath it? I'm trying use that movie as a mask but I do not want it to block any activity underneath it. or is it better to use the myMovieClip .setMask ( maskMovieClip )(I don't really know how to use this) I only need the masking to appear when a specific button is pressed. Hope my english isn't too confusing. Thanks.

Yes. If you check the documentation for the Color class you will see there is a getRGB() method which returns the value set by the setRGB() method. However it doesn't tell you what color something is, it tells you what color transform has been assigned to that object. So if you make a movie of a red square and you do this:
var myColor:Color=new Color(myClip);
trace(myColor.getRGB()); // traces "0"
Which could either mean it has been tranformed to black or that it has no transform (which is the case here.)
What you are seems more complicated than it probably needs to be. What are you actually trying to do? How are these clips having their transforms assigned? What does it mean that they are a certain color.
As for the layer thing. I have no idea what you are talking about.
BTW, here is something you didn't ask for. Using the on(event) type handler coding went out of style with the introduction of Flash 6 in 2002. It is a very inefficient way to code and is very difficult to maintian because you have to look through all your items to find the code. Most folks these days put the code on the timeline where it is all in one place and easier to maintain. Here is a great article about it:

Render Fill Colour on SVG Dial Sweep at Runtime

Hi all,
Thank you for taking the time to review this post.
I have been evaluating the various Dial charts in ApEX v3.0.1 and feel that the SVG 'Dial - Sweep' chart best meets my needs. I would like the fill colour to be determined at runtime depending on whether the returned value is above or below a set 'high' value.
As an example,
SELECT <x> value, -- if below 80 then fill is red, else fill is green
100 maximum_value,
0 low_value,
80 high_value
FROM dual;
As the comment states if the returned value is below the stated high value (80%) I want the sweep to be filled in Red (#FF0000) and for other values (>= 80%) to be filled in Green.
I see that there are CSS entries that could potentially be manipulated:
#dial{stroke:#336699;stroke-width:2px;fill:#ff0000;fill-opacity:.5;}
#dial.alert{fill:#ff0000;fill-opacity:.5;}
I just am unsure as to how to change the fill colours of these dynamically at runtime dependant on the result from my SQL Query source.
Is anyone able to offer some guidance and examples please?

Just wondering if anyone is able to offer any examples or suggestions to this post.
I have a workaround which is to create two Charts, each with a different colour scheme and Conditional Display logic (Exists) on each Chart that determines whether the returned value is greater (or less) than the stated high value (80% in my example).
As I am displaying 6 Charts on this page, there is a huge performance overhead in running 12 Conditional Display logic SQL Statements plus the actual Chart SQL Statement.
I'm wondering whether I can utilise any of the standard Attribute features, such as "Onload Javascript".
Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with Javascript so I'm not sure if (or how) I can reference the SQL Statement Value for comparison with the stated high value, or whether I can use it to change the CSS entries - #dial{stroke:#336699;stroke-width:2px;fill:#ff0000;fill-opacity:.5;} and #dial.alert{fill:#ff0000;fill-opacity:.5;}
As I say, any examples or suggestions greatly appreciated :-)

LR5 Fill mode preview in Library module is not sharp

Hi,
I just discovered, that when in Library module, and viewing my photos in Fill mode, it is not sharp. It is in fact so blurry, that it is unusable. Not sure I remember it correctly, but it happened also during the tethered shooting and viewing image on secondary monitor.
Interesting thing is, that once in a Develop module, Fill mode preview is sharp. I tried different settings re preview in Catalog Settings and Preferences, but no success.
I would like to know, if other users are experiencing anything like that too? Googling I found several such problems described in the past. I wonder, why this apparent bug was not fixed ages ago ...

Hi, so I did so, no change. Now let's not talk about the difference between Develop and Library modules, but about Library module itself. Why all other previews, e.g. 1:4, 1:2, 1:1 are sharp, Fit mode is sharp, but Fill mode is not? Is there any internal difference to how Fill mode works? I insert the photo here for you to see the difference:

Numbers v5 Setting custom fill colours

With the loss of the top bar cell and font options the new sidebar inpsector contains a more limited range of standard Colour Fill colours, and most are very strong colours. I would like to use the slightly wider range of colours offered in the previous version of Numbers. Is there any way of adding a few custom colours to this selection. I have set some custom colours in the separate colours dialogue box, but prefer not to have to have this open all the time when the Inspector in open all the time as well
This is also a problem in Pages v5

Hi Emily,
Bring up the Colour window (shift command c).
Step 1. Create a colour (I can't get an arrow or number 1 on top of this screen shot).
Step 2. Your colour will appear as shown by Arrow 2.
Step 3. Drag the colour to the custom palette shown by Arrow 3.
Step 4. Drag from the custom palette to a table cell.
As a test, I Quit Numbers and relaunched. The custom colour was still in the custom palette.

Simple shape fill question

Ok ... i've been using photoshop since 1.0, and this has to be an elementary question - i'm just blanked.
I drew a shape with the pen tool, closed it by clicking on the starting node.
But the fill is "outside" the shape and not "inside".
I've never seen this happen before ...i've drawn literally thousands of shapes (tracing images etc as you would in illustrator or other vector-drawing programs).... what gives? how do i get the shape fill "inside" the shape and not "outside"?

Changing a frame's fill colour

I should produce small text boxes containing reverse text (white letters in black boxes). How and where do I apply black colour to a frame's fill colour?

Select the frame, then in the Swatches panel click the fill color icon in the upper left corner (same icon is in the Toolbox and the Color panel), then choose your fill color.

Problem changing fill colour after image trace?

I am using illustrator cc 2014 to trace a jpeg image. After tracing I want to change the colour of the resulting image. The default colour after tracing is black but the image fill colour is showing as a question mark and when I go to change the colour the whole artboard turns grey no matter what colour I choose. I know the document is in CMYK. Does any one know whats going on here?

Hi I'm still having trouble with this here are a couple of images of the before and after.

There are two problems with this, first is that its gone grey (I'm definitely in CMKY mode) and second is it did not fill the image in the way I had intended.
What am I doing wrong?

Finding cells by content en replace stroke & fill colour

I have generated in InDesign CS3 a catalogue with hundreds of tables.
unfortunatly there was a mistake or two in building the tables. In a way I need to replace a stroke colour from a cell and also a fill colour.
So my question is if there is a way in InDeisgn CS3 for automatically...
searching in a document for table cells with "text colour Black_EN" AND "fill colour Black_EN" and change that particular cell stroke colour in Black_EN
searching in a document for table cells with "text colour Black_EN" AND "fill colour Black" and change that particular cell fill colour in Black_EN
Can someone help me with a usable script? I'm a newie to scripting so any help is usefull!

Aaahh .. the old adage of one picture equalling a thousand words. In this case, the words are rather long, as the image is >280K.
O-kay. You have lots of tables, possibly some with bad colors, but the text is always the correct color. How does this sound: you click inside any table, and the script checks the current text color (*). Then it sets all strokes to that color, and the fill of every cell with a 50% fill pattern. It means you can select a table, run the script, select the next, run the script, etc. until done (or utterly bored, whatever comes first).
(*) Actually, the text color of the first character in the top left cell. I hope that's not a problem.
The script is fairly indifferent to your selection: anywhere inside, in the text, or with a cell, row, column or even the entire table selected is no problem.
