Shape Hints and Disappearing Animation

Question

I'm trying to animate the letter "O" using shape tweens to create a "drawn" look, tracing the letter clockwise, starting and ending at the same point.
Unfortunately shape hints are not cooperating; any time that I use them, they make the tween animation disappear. Without them, the animation looks awkward.
Anyone have an idea of why this is happening?

you'll probably need to break that into, at least, 2 tweens.  see if you can get what you want tweening the animation of the right half only (of what you're now trying to tween).  once that's done to your satisfaction, use a different layer to tween the left half or just copy the right tween and transform it into the left tween.
