Share atomation refnum between vis

Hello,
I'm woring in a library (llb) to handle a multimeter with IVI-COM driver, but i have some issues because i want to have different vi files according with the action required by the user (Init, DCv measurement, ACV measurement, etc.).
I have tried to set an Automation Refnum as a global variable, a Functional Global Variable with the input/output as Automation Refnum and an Action Engine with the Automation Refnum - Open Automation - Initialize methid inside in the default case but i still have the same error message when i run my application that use the vis inside the llb:
"An input parameter is invalid. For example if the input is a path, the path might contain a character not allowed by the OS such as ? or @."
I set some probes in the reference lines and even the value of the references is the same, it seems to me that the object of the dmm driver were closed by the first vi called (Init).
Any help would be great, thank you.

Hello Angel;
Instead of using a global variable, I believe it is easier to use a simple indicator and then pass the refference from one VI to the Next as in the following image
I even added some descriptive images and changed some constants to controls so that you can modify some parameters while running your program
Could you try this out? I reattached the library.
Cheers

unless i'm missing something, i think you got mixed up, this is easy google for walk throughs
i'm assuming this is the new 3tb tc AC or 'tower' shape, if so, its wifi will run circles around your at&t device
unplug the at&t box for a minute and plug it back in
factory reset your tc - unplug it, hold down reset and keep holding while you plug it back in - only release reset when amber light flashes in 10-20s
connect the tc to your at&t box via eth in the wan port, wait 1 minute, open airport utility look in 'other wifi devices' to setup the tc
create a new wifi network (give it a different name than your at&t one) and put the tc in bridge mode (it may do this automatically for you, but you should double check) under the 'network' tab
login to your at&t router and disable wifi on it
add new clients to the new wifi network, and point your Macs to the time machine for backups

Oops, I forgot a step between 7 and 8 ... before syncing the iPhone I need to explicitly send the document back to iTunes on the iPhone, or the changes won't come over at all ...
and then one more thing ... Numbers on iOS does NOT recognize a number of key features of the OSX app, such as conditional formatting ... so after editing my document on iOS and syncing it back to OSX on my Mac, all of those settings are lost (no more conditional formatting, have to do it all over again)
What am I doing wrong ?

  • How can I share a folder between two users on the same mac?

    Hi all,
I would like to share a folder between multiple users on the same macbook without having to transfer the folder to the Public/Shared folder.
Is there not a way, using the the folders shared permissions, to allow shared folders from one user to be visible and usable by another user on the same mac without having to move the folder to a designated shared location?
    Regards,
    Caleb

No, you just need to do it once and that's it. Anything that is in the Shared folder is accessible by all user accounts within the same Mac.

Can you give me an example of such a blog. I suspect you may have mis-understood what they were saying but if you can provide a link, I'll look at it.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Yes, even though they have their own IDs for the iTunes Store, if everyone uses the same ID for home sharing, you can share the content.

  • TS4001 How can I share Safari bookmarks between two iCloud accounts using IOS 7 and Mavericks?

Before iOS 7 and Mavericks, we were able to share Safari bookmarks between all of our devices.  My wife had the primary iCloud account which was setup to share bookmarks, contacts, calendars and reminders.  A secondary iCloud account was setup on my phone for only my email.  Each phone had our private email accounts segregated and we shared all the bookmarks, contacts, calendars and reminders.  When I saved a bookmark on my phone, I could see it later on our iMac or iPad.  Now only my wife can sync bookmarks between her phone and the iMac or iPad.  This *****!!  This worked beautifully before we upgraded to the latest versions of OS & iOS.  Is there a work around or a new way to set things up?  I don't want to be stuck reading Safari on my phone when I have a 24" iMac sitting in the living room.  I don't want to see all of my wife's email on my phone either.  Do we need three iCloud accounts now?  One main for sharing and two separate accounts for only email?  Need help!  Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks.

    David,
Thanks for the reply.  That's how I set it up originally.  Although the new iOS 7 update lost some functionality.  I found the following on the TUAW website.  The Safari Bookmarks and Find My Phone options have been removed from the secondary iCloud accounts options.  This is the problem.  Everything worked great before we updated.  I guess "new way" consolidates the iCloud accounts better with Maverick?  Now I will have extra documents on my phone that I don't need.  We will both have to share the same iCloud storage and backup space too.  Have to try it out and see how it works. Thanks.

  • How can I share a folder between two users on the same iMac?

I have an iMac with 2 user accounts and I want to share a folder between them. I have gone on to system preferences>sharing and turned on file sharing. I have also got the 'Get Info' thing up, selected 'Shared Folder' and added the other user to the read and write permissions...it just doesn't show up on the other desktop (the folder is on my desktop, I would have expected to see it on the other desktop...?)
    Any ideas?

  • Share a library between two users on the same mac?

It is possible to share a library between two users on the same mac?

It's doable. As it's been pointed out Aperture has no provisions for file locking so you can't have two users accessing the library at the same time. This includes having one user having the library open only for browsing. Aperture doesn't have a +Read Only+ mode, when it opens the library, even if you make no changes to any images, the library will be written to.
This also means you can't have one user open the library and then stop using Aperture but still have the library open and then have another copy of Aperture open on the library.
Of course if you have two copies of Aperture running even they are on different libraries you'll be in violation of the license and you'll have bigger problems to worry about then a toasted library.

  • Can I share my ipod between my work PC and my home Mac?

I have an iPod mini that i routinely sync with my mac at home. I just started a new job and am foced to use a PC in my office (Windows XP Pro). I want to connect the iPod to my PC and play music off of it, sync contacts, etc.
I installed iTunes on the PC and tried to connect my iPod to it but was greeted by a dialog box saying I would have to reformat the iPod to have it work with the windows box.
This completely defeats my goal of sharing the iPod between the PC and my home mac! I do not want to loose any of the info off the ipod which syncs regularly with my home mac.
I've read a few posts here that suggest it is impossible to share the ipod between the windows and mac... this sounds incredible to me though - if true, a tremendous oversight on Apple's part, especially as they try to move to being more and more integrated with the PC world.
Any tricks out there that might help?
    Thanks!

I took the plunge and reformatted the iPod mini using the windows ipod software. (This erased everything on the ipod)
I next set up the ipod with itunes for windows on my work pc and made it sync my favorite podcasts. I took the iPod home and plugged it in to my mac - it was recognized perfectly by the mac. Using the mac, I set the ipod up to sync contacts from address book and then loaded up about 3 gigs of music.
Now I take the ipod back and forth each day - it continues to sync podcasts at work via the pc and contacts at home via the mac... I can manage the music on the ipod manunally using either the mac or the pc... at work i can listen to music on the ipod through itunes and some JBL speakers I hooked up to the pc. The only thing I can't do is sync contacts via the ipod between outlook (pc) and address book (mac), but I can live with that.
The moral of the story - if you want to share the ipod between a pc and mac, it's easy to do so - but you must first format the ipod with the windows version of the ipod software. Then it 'plays nice' with both platforms.
Hope this helps anyone else out there with similar problems... elsewhere I've heard complaints about trying to get contacts out of address book and into microsoft outlook - turns out you can select a bunch of contacts in address book, hold down the option key while dragging them into a folder and they each get copied as individual vcards - then you can import them into outlook.

  • Trying to share iTunes libraries between two users on one iMac

Ok, so I have two users on my iMac, but I want to share iTunes libraries between the two (so that both have the same music, movies, apps...), but for some reason I can't! So first I tried turning on iTunes while holding option key so that I can open my Library from my user that i'm trying to grab the music and everything else from. But for some reason it said that I didn't have the permissions to (which both ARE admin). So then I went to the Preferences on iTunes and tried to change the directories from where to grab the media from, but it wouldn't let me access my other users music folder, it siad again that I didn't have permissions for this. I'm really fed up, please help me.

Chris, thanks for the reply.  Are you telling me that I should move the iTunes folder itself, and not merely the iTunes Media folder, as instructed by the KB article?  At this point, I'd be willing to try just about anything, but the KB article specifically states:
Important: Do not move the iTunes folder, the iTunes Library file or the iTunes Library.xml file.
As I stated above, I did exactly what the KB article said to, which is to move the iTunes Media folder (called iTunes Music on my iMac, since the library has been around since pre-iTunes 8 or so) to /Users/Shared, and then go into iTunes Prefs for each user, and under the advanced tab, choose the location of the library for each user.  I know that this method does NOT share iTunes library (.itl or .xml, or the other associated files), and doing what you suggest would, but I'm curious if that would cause any problems.
And yes, like I said in the OP, I did check/change all file permissions on that folder appropriately.
Thanks again for the help!  Please let me know if I'm reading your suggestion right!

  • Share iTunes Library between OSX and Win7 Bootcamp

I've done quite a bit of research on this but I still haven't found a solution that does what I require.
Basically my setup is a SSD & HDD in my MBP. I have OSX and Win7 (Bootcamp) on the SSD and the NTFS HDD is a shared file storage drive for both Windows and OS. I have my iTunes library located on this drive and I want to be able to share the library between the OSs. I also want changes e.g. additions deletions made in windows to be reflected in OSX and vice versa.
Technically this is possible and does in fact work if I point iTunes to the .itl file but the problem is that when I open iTunes after switching OSs it must go through a very lengthy library update which can take 30-60mins in some cases before I can use it. Obviously this is not a good solution so I'm wondering if there are any workarounds to accomplishing this?
For example can I duplicate the .itl file and have one for win and one for OSX and still have the libraries stay in sync?

Just for your info, Vista ***** whatever you try to do. I'm stuck with Vista on a pre-installed laptop. All experience I have from Vista is bad, don't buy Vista or a computer with preinstalled Vista if you can avoid it.
We have three computers in a home network, one Macbook Pro, one PC with Windows XP, and the Vista laptop. All are using iTunes-8, downloaded and installed last week.
Sharing iTunes libraries using the option to share libraries on a local network works fine between Mac and Windows-XP. The sharing also works fine between the XP and the Vista PC.
But the Vista PC can't access the Mac iTunes library. When trying to open the Mac library, iTunes on the Vista computer says something like "Fetching library info from...". It's the same problem when trying to access the Vista library from the Mac.
We had a similar problem when trying to access shared folders on the local network. Thanks to a tip on this forum how to tweak the Vista registry, the shared folder problem was solved.
I'm think some registry setting in Vista might solve iTunes shared library problems. Maybe some Windows freak knows how to patch the registry to solve this issue.
Otherwise the solution is to trash Vista, and install Windows-XP.

  • How to share security context between different application ?

    Hi all,
I have two applications(ADF faces + BC, JDev 10.1.3.1) deployed into OAS 10.1.3.1.
    The two applications are :
    1) SalesApp -> main menu page = SalesMenu.jspx
    2) ReportApp -> main menu page = ReportMenu.jspx
I want implement security using CustomLogin.
    The question is :
How can I share security context between the applications ?
What I mean is, from SalesMenu.jspx there is one menu item to jump into ReportMenu.jspx, and I want user no need to Login again, Login is once and the user is recognized in the two apps. How to achieve that ?
    Thank you for your help,
    xtanto

    Xtanto,
actually you can't if these are separate J2EE application deployments. The session is not shared and thus the authentication is lost. I heard that OracleAs is planning to implement a feature that allows you to share the session and thus a context between two J2EE deployments. I am not 100 % sure this is the case and will check with OC4J Product Management

You cannot merge two separate libraries across user accounts. Photos does not have the function of merging different Photos.library files. If you have Aperture then you can merge the two before migrating over to Photos.
