Share contact with yahoo email

Has anyone noticed that when using the "Share Contact" function to email a vCard to someone doesn't work correctly when sending from a Yahoo! account?
With my Gmail account, the email includes the .vcf file and can easily be added to any contacts application.
But when sent from a Yahoo! account, two
tags are added before and after the vCard text and it is not included in the email as an importable file, but instead pasted as text in the email.
Anyone know how to Share Contacts from a Yahoo! account?

I have traced this issue the the server used by the pre-installed Yahoo! email client on the iPhone. I set up the same email account as a POP manually and sent a vCard with success. Switched back to the Yahoo! pre-installed settings and the garbled failure returns. I have contacted Yahoo and my case has been escalated.

  • Share contact via yahoo email not working

Hi, When I try to share a contact via email using my yahoo email account it always come through to whomever I send it to but it somes through jarbled up and unreadable. I can send/share the same contact or multiple contacts using my exchange email account or my gmail account and it send the contact with no troubles and it can be viewd by whoever get's it. But when trying to send it over yahoo email it just doesn't work.Has anyone else noticed this problem or know of any fix?
I have deleted the yahoo account, reset all network settings, force restart the iphone and readded the yahoo acount, nothing worked still exact same trouble.
    Thanks

Apparantly this is also happening when trying to share location via the Mapps application as it also attaches a .VCF file to the email. yahoo is not letting this pass intact. Same trouble but my exchange work account will send it and my gmail will send it also. This must be a yahoo issue. I don't know what else I can try.

  • How do I share contacts with other users on my network

How do I share contacts with other family members?

Click on the Sharing button in Contacts. Several options:
You can also select a bunch of contacts and Export them as vCards. Deliver them to the Family members via disk, thumb drive, email, Airdrop, etc.
If you mean "share" as in Calendar sharing, then that is not possible.

  • How can I share contacts with Android users via the "share contact" button via messaging or otherwise

Appologies in advance if this has been asked before.
I have an iPhone 5/iOS 6. My friend(s) use Android phones. At times, they request a contact I have, but every time I select "Share Contact" via the button in my iPhone's Contact list, either as an Email or Message, they recieve an unusable file format - in other words, it just doesn't get to them. If I manually copy and paste the fields into a txt, they will get the info. Is there an app, or something I need to do differently to be able to share contacts with Android users via the "Share Contact" button in iOS?
    Thanks,
    Nathan

Shouldn't be an issue here, as the iPhone shares the contact info in standard vCard format.

    Hey joshuafromisr,
If you resintall iTunes, it should fix the issue. The following document will go over how to remove iTunes fully and then reinstall. Depending on what version of Windows you're running you'll either follow the directions here:

  • Adding an attachment unsuccessfulw with yahoo email

When trying to add an attachment using Firefox with yahoo email, it usually is unsuccessful. It works successfully with IE. The file browse window appears, I then select a file to attach and then the file browse window disappears (as expected) and nothing gets attached to the email. You are suppose to be an attachment in progress appear in the bottom of the screen, and then an indicator the file is attached.

You should see the attachment as an icon in the mail. Tap on it to download.  you can also hold your finger down on it and see what options it offers you.
What kind of attachment is it? If it's some sort of document then the viewer in the ipad should allow you to view it.  Other kinds of attachments may not be able to be opened. All depends on what it is.

An alert pops up and asks if I want to merge my contacts with Yahoo.
If I merge, will it add duplicates, if there are some?
    I don't want duplicates.
If it will add duplicates, how do I tell yahoo to quit asking me if I want to merge.

  • Can I share contacts with a MacBook running 10.6.8

I have recently completed a pretty thorough equipment refresh, but I have one older MacBook running 10.6.8 (which is too old to upgrade to 10.8.2) that I'd like to keep in use.
So far so good, except that I can't find a way to share contacts with this from my machine. Is there a workaround that would allow me to sync this machine with contacts on an iPhone 5 or MacBook Pro (10.8.2)?

I might have been too fast on the solved. I did call Apple. As equipped I can't run Lion on the MacBook. But they said that if I upgraded the RAM, the Macbook would even run 10.8.2. The RAM upgrade costs about the same as the Lion upgrade so the cost is the same to me.
Will follow up with another "solved my question" after the installation completes successfully.

  • Outlook 2013 Can't share contacts with a user

    Hi,
I can generate the sharing invitation email. When opened on the recipient's side it says," This sharing message not valid.   All action buttons have been disabled."
    (Sender not verified) - People
    Microsoft Exchange Contacts
I have been able to share these contacts successfully with other users.
I have deleted and recreated the recipient's profile.
Also, on the senders side, even though I have set all permissions to publisher, it shows the message rights going out as reviewer. Don't know if that helps.
    Any help is appreciated.

    Hello,
In order to understand the issue more deeply, I would like to clarify the following questions:
    1. Is the recipient who has the problem an external user?
    2. Does the issue continue if we share contacts from a different sender to the same recipient?
    3. Is there any info in the application log in Event Viewer if we reproduce this issue?
Meanwhile, we may try to logon to OWA and then open the message from there to see if it will generate any error message.
Please let me know the result.
    Thanks,

  • Problem with Yahoo email on Q10

I've had my Q10 since June and haven't had a problem receiving and sending email.  I have 3 different email accounts on it; one is a Yahoo account.
Yesterday I started having trouble with my Yahoo email.  I replied to a message and it showed that it went but the person never received it.  I did test messages to my other account and now the email is not going at all.
I have deleted and reinstalled the account several times and have tried the validation tool.
    This is very frustrating!
    Any suggestions?
    Thank you!

Using the email validation tool, did you get any errors?
When you install the Yahoo account to your Q10, it accepts your email address and password and sets up the account?

  • Problems With Yahoo Email

I've had problems with my yahoo email account since I got my iPhone about a month ago. Looking through the threads on this support forum, it appears that these problems are shared with other people using Yahoo email with the iPhone. It seems there are three main problems:
    1. _*Push Email Doesn't Work*_: Despite the fact that push email with yahoo has been advertised as a selling point for the iPhone, it doesn't work reliably. Sometimes it works and you're notified immediately when a new email arrives, and sometimes it doesn't work and a new email won't show up until you go in and manually check for new messages.
    2. _*Emails Don't Send*_: You compose a message, hit send, you hear the sent message sound, but it doesn't get sent. It doesn't show up in the sent messages folder and the recipient doesn't receive the message. This happens to me about once a day, and the solution appears to be to delete the yahoo email account and then recreate it. After this, sending emails will work again, but only for a certain amount of time and then it stops.
    3. *_Emails Get Deleted_*: This is the worst problem of all. This has happened to me about half a dozen times in the month I've had my iPhone. I go to check my mail, the messages are there, but after it retrieves messages, some of the emails immediately disappear. They're gone for good. They're not in the trash or on the server.
In this forum, there are several threads dealing with each of these issues, and several hundred posts from users saying they are experiencing the same problems. There also appears to be no solution to any of these problems. In fact, neither Apple nor Yahoo have even acknowledged that these problems exist.
I finally decided to abandon my Yahoo email account. I waited for the 1.1.2 upgrade to see if that would solve the problems, but it appears not. I'm now using another IMAP account on my iPhone and I sent messages to all my contacts telling them to use this new account from now on. My advice to anyone using the iPhone is to not use Yahoo email account. There's just way too much frustration and it seems Apple and Yahoo are not even working on a solution.

I agree with Ifan and the Yahoo people. I think it has to do with the Iphone more than the Yahoo network. Since when I sent my mail, sometimes I don't even see the 'sent" mail in my outbox locally. Which really means it never left my Iphone. Secondly, I noticed sometimes when I go to the Safari settings and delete the history, cookies and cache, I could send again. Thirdly, since mail sends and sometimes doesn't, it means it CAN send. Just that your Iphone varied in its settings. Well, there's only a few things that fluntuates in your iPhone, connection, software update and memory. I think
the memory, and more specifically the cache whether DNS or Safari cache need deleting regularly.
    Here's my hit-all-the-notes approach:
-first sync everything with your computer as back up
-go to mail setting in your iphone, delete your yahoo account
-important : on itunes under the Iphone "info" tab, uncheck "sync with mail server"
-RESTORE your iphone. Now you have the latest updated software
    -sync your info again
-re-setup yahoo mail (make sure you have yahoo mail Plus / pro)
-turn off Wi-Fi settings on the phone
-set up your mail options so that you are doing everything locally
-have a habit of deleting emails (also from trash) as you go, since they are on your server already
-turn off your phone every night you go to bed, and after each time you turned Wi-Fi and off
-clear history, cache and cookies under Safari settings after prolonged use
-when you hit send, do not leave that window right way, wait for a minute
Good luck and let me know if it works.
    Hope it helps.

  • IPhone 5 no longer receive emails, but can still send emails with yahoo email account. Any ideas to fix?

iPhone 5 with iOS 8.1.2 stopped receiving mail yesterday. Have yahoo email account. Can still send emails. Have turned device off/on. Have done the dual off/on thing using top button and menu button.   Issue seems to be only with main inbox, as sub folders are receiving mail. Other Apple device is not having issues like this, just on iPhone.

Your issue is with the Yahoo email account which is notoriously bad.
you can try deleting and reinstalling the email account.
If that doesn't fix it try the yahoo email app.

  • Can I connect more than one iCloud account at the same time to share contacts with s.o.

Is it possible to use/connect 2 or more iCloud accounts with my iOs device in order to share my contacts with somebody (Account 1) and still have another addressbook for contacts that should not be shared (account 2)?
The other person should be able to connect to Account 1 too.

No, you can only connect to one iCloud account.

  • Print problem with Yahoo email

Ever since upgrading to Safari Version 7.0.1 (9537.73.11), I have had several different problems with printing emails.  For the time being, let me ask here about only my AT&T Yahoo mail.
Here is the description of the problem in Yahoo.  When I pull down the “Actions” menu to “Print Message,” I get this dialog box:
                      Print Error
There was a problem printing, most likely caused by a pop-up blocker. Please click Try Again.
    Try Again
So I click the button labeled “Try Again,” and Safari opens the email in a new window with a “Print” tool in the upper left corner.
I click the “Print” tool.  With multi-page emails, I like printing on both sides.  I choose either,
    Print Two-sided, or
Print either odd or even pages.
With the former option Safari prints one page of the email and stalls.  With the latter Safari prints the whole series of selected pages and stalls.  My printer (HP LaserJet Professional P1102w) refuses to print any more pages.  I have to go into my printer’s application and stop the print job.  Then I have to turn off the printer, wait a while for the machine to re-set, and turn it back on.  Then I can print the remaining page or pages.
That’s inefficient. Is there some remedy to get Safari to print emails in Yahoo straight through?

Problems like that with Firefox printing look like they are fixed in Firefox 4.

  • A problem with Yahoo Email (not iPhones fault)?

Will Yahoo fix their email problem soon? I like having the "push" feature (when it works!)
I have 3 email accounts set up on my iPhone. Yahoo, Gmail, and my Road Runner. I sent all 3 an email from my work computer (via my work email). In a matter of 2 minutes the Gmail & Road Runner email showed up on my iPhone (must have been close to the 15 minute check for email time). The Yahoo is still missing in action.
As I'm typing this email... a test email I sent 1 hour 5 minutes ago finally showed up in my Yahoo account.
Also, I signed onto hotmail, gmail, and yahoo all on my computer. I sent an email to my work email... the Gmail and Hotmail arrived at my work inbox in less than 2 minutes. Still waiting (been 45 minutes) for the Yahoo email to show up. Again, these emails originated via my computer (not iPhone), and there is still a problem with my Yahoo. My computer is a PC running win XP PRO (if that matters)

I am having the same problem. You have to log into your Yahoo.com webmail everyday and send an email to anyone. You will be asked to enter some anti-spam security letters and numbers. Do this only once each day before you use your iPhone mail.app and it should work. I am angry at both Apple and Yahoo for letting this happen. Apple has an obligation to make the mail.app work (push mail) with any IMAP account, not just Yahoo's. Hpoefully in the next software update. For now, I have to check my IMAP and POP mail either manually or at a set interval.
