  • IMovie 2013 Share failed, video render error -60

I am sharing to the new theatre and I got this response.

I had this problem too, but then I tried this
    1) Go to "System Preferences"
    2) Open "Energy Saver"
    3) Remove the tick from "Put hard disks to sleep when possible"
I came to that solution, because I realized that the resulting video files had almost the same size, their difference was tiny. And I always started the video rendering and left my Mac for a while. But once I kept on doing something else after starting the rendering and then the reulting video file was bigger.
I hope this works for all of you!

  • What is video rendering error: -50

When trying to "Share" my movie in iMovie 10.0.1 I receive the following error.
The share operation "File" has failed
    Video rendering error: -50
This occurs no matter how I try to share it (Theater, itunes, file, etc.) or output resolution. Does anyone know what this means or more importantly how to fix it?

You are not the only one with this problem. Seems like a bug in iMovie.

  • Video Rendering Error -50

When ever I try to share my video off of iMovie it says "The share operation has failed, video rendering error -50" I have tried to search up on how to fix this and have found nothing. I am using the latest software update and have iMovie updated. Also I am using Quicktime player which is also up to date. But also even though it says it has failed it puts a 15 second version of my clip on my desktop (only the first 15 seconds of the video) I am not sure if it has to do with any of my settings but I can still not find to how to fix this.

same problem, don't know how to solve it...

  • Since Maverick update, when I try to share a video I get Error 1 frame. I have duplicated the project, I have deleted all rendered files. I have tried it several times and always gives me a different frame.

Since Maverick update, when I try to share a video I get Error 1 and a frame number. I have duplicated the project and tried to share. I have deleted all rendered files and then render again. I deleted all rendered and then tried to share it before rendering. Nothing works. I shared the project a couple of weeks ago and was fine. I only changed a small clip and can't share to burn a dvd.

    What software version? What computer?
Trash preferences. Switch off background rendering. Trash project and event render files. Do not render. Export. Do not do anything on the computer during export. Make sure App Nap is switched off in the Finder.

  • New project to DVD works fine, but sharing to a Blu ray fails, with a error message "video rendering error 60."  What is that and how do I fix it?

getting an error message "video rendering error 60" when burning a new final cut pro project to Blu ray.  Burning to regular DVD works fine.  I have burned many other projects successfully to blu ray.  What is this message and how do I fix it?

If this same timeline can be exported to other file formats and can be shared successfully to DVD, possibly it's the longer render time in the Blu Ray processing that is the problem. In the Finder in Applications, right click Final Cut Pro dot app, choose Get Info and verify that Prevent App Nap is checked. If it isn't, check it and try again.

  • Can't share video- video rendering error:-50

How do I share the video?
It won't save to a file, export to YouTube, email or any other options.
    What do I do?

Hmmm. how awesome. Since when did Mac OS start to throw unfriendly messages at the user?
To the point I did have a clip, that did not want to play/integrate. It was playing OK on my SD card, but once I copied it to the internal SSD QuickTime wouldn't open it. After a dozen copy-overs it started to open from the internal drive too. And in iMovie I could view it with no problem. As a matter of fact in iMovie I can view the whole composition qust fine from the start till the end. So why wouldn't it be able to export this?
Also, as a suggestion - rather than showing "-50" I could have been notified that "XYZ" file is corrupt(and it'd be great to know in which way...) and would have saved me a whole lot of time and frustration.

  • I get error -50 every time I try to "share" my video. What can I do?

I have tried sharing my video in different formats, but none work. Also, the error message keeps coming up every 5 minutes,.

“The share operation "Title" has failed.
    Video rendering error: -50”
I cannot download videos to youtube from iMac. Can anyone help?
I have two accounts in youtube and they both work fine from my PCs.

  • Cannot share any Video from FCPX 10.1.4

I cannot export / share any of my videos with FCPX 10.1.4
I seem to be having the infinite background render / Backup issues that people were experiencing in 10.1.3
The Video gets to about 70% of the way through rendering and the the share fails. I was rendering videos 3 days ago, with the same machine and version of FCPX with no issues. I have restarted the computer and ran CleanMyMac2 with no success. I have used the default share options as well as custom ones I have made. Tried to use H264, ProRes and Compressor without any luck...
My Machine is 2013 Mac Pro 3.5GHz 6core, 1TB PCIE HDD, 64GB RAM, Dual D700 cards. Yosemite 10.10.1
Thanks for any help you can offer...

First, CleanMyMac is very dangerous.  I've gotten paid very handsomely for restoring 5 Macs over the past few years due to those types of programs totally trashing folks data.  Get rid of it now!
Now, I assume you're talking about Sharing (or Exporting), and not Rendering.  Rendering is what you do in a Timeline to get smoother playback.  Sharing (exporting) is what you do when you write out a new QT file of your Timeline.
So, download two free apps from Digital Rebellion (dot com), FCS Remover and Preference Manager.  Use Preference Manager first to quickly and safely trash your FCPX preferences.  In fact, trash them for Motion and Compressor, too, while you're at it, just to be safe.  Then delete all render files in your Projects and Events.  Run Disk Utility to repair all drives.  Finally, verify that your system drive and your media drive both have at least 15% of their total capacity left as free space.
If you do all of that, and it still won't export, I'd run FCS Remover to totally uninstall all three pro apps.  Launch the App Store, in the Purchased section, reinstall all three from scratch, see if that helps.
The part where you get 70% done and it stops, leads me to suspect bad render files.  So I'd trash the render files first.  Select the Project in the Browser, then go to File > Delete Generated Project Files.  Then delete your render files.

  • Share fails

trying to use iMovie 10.0.1 and share the resulting work as a file. Keep getting "Share failed" because of video rendering error -50. I can see the movie in its entirety in my theater (even though that share also was tagged as failing). So, anybody have any idea?

If the volume's formatted as FAT32, it can't hold files which are 4GB or larger regardless of how much free space it has.
