Share folder by using ISCSI

I installed ISCSI target in my server and ISCSI initiator in my client machine. I create a virtual disk and share it.But, now i want to share some files/folders through ISCSI target to my client machines.Is it possible?..Kindly revert back..

Based on your description, I understand that you want to share files/folders from Windows Server to client
computer via iSCSI virtual disk. If anything I misunderstand, please don’t hesitate to let me know.
Henrik had provided the correct suggestion. On current situation, please refer to following steps and check
if can help you to achieve the target. (In my lab environment, set up one server and one client computer for this test.)
Create the new iSCSI virtual disk via NEW iSCSI Virtual Disk Wizard on the server. When
Specify access servers via the wizard, please add both client computer and Windows Server as iSCSI initiators. Then complete the wizard.
Connect to the target via iSCSI Initiator on the server. Then open Disk Management, navigate to the virtual disk and assign a drive letter to the disk. Then you will be
able to add files/folders to the iSCSI virtual disk on the server.
Please logon client computer and connect to the target via iSCSI Initiator. Then assign drive letter to the virtual disk via Disk Management. Then you will be able to see
files/folders which you add to the iSCSI virtual disk on the server.

I was wondering whether it had anything to do with the network I was using. The router I am using can't access the internet and I am using the basic 192.168.1.X setup with 255.255.255.0 as the mask.
My computer has an ip of 192.168.1.2 and the xbox has an ip of 192.168.1.3. However, I am still unable to ping the xbox or even see it show up in the network. I did notice that whenever I am using another router that is connected to the internet, I can see other windows based computers in the network tab in thunar under "windows network"
Also, I do have a username and password associated with the samba setup.. so I assume maybe that has something do with it. I checked the permissions of the share folder and it was root:root with read and write permissions. I know samba is working fairly well.. but for whatever reason I can't get the xbox to connect even while it is on the same local network.

Use following steps to import apple mail to outlook:
Choose Mailbox->Export Mailbox, or choose Export Mailbox from the Action pop-up menu
Choose a folder or create a new folder where you want to store the exported mailbox.
Outlook for Mac: Choose File->Import Mailboxes. Select the mail application you want to import messages from.
If it does not work then you should use third party apple mail to pst applications. You can easily search in Google about these applications.

Sharer folder issue between two directly connected PC

Dear All, I have an issue regarding folder sharing. need your help to resolve this. the scenario is
two PC's are connected directly to share a folder, to open *.mdb file of a accounting software. this problem start when I moved windows XP PC's and installed windows 7 64 bit PC's. there is no compatibility issue as I run the same software on other
locations
PC A (192.168.1.200) has that *.mdb file and PC B (192.168.1.100) has to open this file through a network.
when I configured the folder share and network setting, all done well and PC B can connect with PC A and that software work well. After two days, when we start the software at PC B, its not responding when it try's to open that database file.
while analyzing, I found out that PC B can open the share folder of PC A but when open the desired database folder explore starts not responding and need to quit it by force. I also tried to share another folder of PC A but results are same.
PC A run the software with out any problem.
It seems like network issue, so I check the cable with cable tester, found it good, than I check the connectivity by ping command, it giving me <1ms time. but still change the connectors.
the hard part is that, this share folder issue arises 3-4 days a week and 2-3 days it works well, and this is happening from last 28 days. I mean, one day we start the the PC B and use the software via network, the next day we start the PC B and we don't
able to use the software,..strange.
I also change the cable connection from cross to straight as both new PC's have gigabit Ethernet but results are same.
I already contact with software company, as per them its network issue as we can use the software on local PC (PC A) and there is no error messages popup.
please help me out in this regard.

Hi,
Firstly, we need to identify is this file sharing or netowrking problem. If you can access to the shared folder and modify its files which locate at PC B through PC A, it indicates file sharing works with no problem.
After that, we need to check if its networking or software itself problem when reading the .mdb file.
Put the .mdb file at PC A, then using the software open it for test. If no problem, we need to use Process Monitor to capture the access trace of the software process, we should be able to find some clues.

Steps to save a Query/Report as Excel file in Share folder

Hi,
I have a requirement where i need to schedule a BI report automatically on a daily basis and save it in a Sharepoint folder as a excel file. I have gone through the Forums but didnt get a clear idea on how to proceed this with. I read about RSCRM_BAPI transaction but i hope we need to do this manually to save the file each time. Also, in Broadcaster there are options only to send Email & save in Portal.
So, if anybody have idea on saving a Query/Report as excel file in a Share folder automatically, kindly help me in suggesting the steps to do this activity.

1. Create Three Floders in AL11 i.e. in Apllication Server. Eg Name it F1, F2 and F3.
2. First dump the .csv files into F1. (Name xyz.csv).
3. Then using UNIX/WINDOWS (depends on your OS) script , first check the file is there are not in F1, if yes then rename the file with date and time or date and transfer the files from F1 to F2 i.e xyz06032010.csv.
4. Then Create a small ABAP program to check the file in F2, if it is there then Trigger the Event, and using that event you execute teh PC.
5. Then using UNIX/WINDOWS (depends on your OS) script , transfer the files from F2 to F3 i.e xyz06032010.csv
6. Next day morning F1 and F2 are empty and F3 is having the backup files.
So use this method, I used the similar logic and it is working fine.
Timinings are importent i.e what time you need to dump the fule in F1 and what time you need to run UNIX/WINDOWS (depends on your OS) script , transfer the files from F1 to F2 and what time UNIX/WINDOWS (depends on your OS) script , transfer the files from F2 to F3.
OR

3. Then load the data using InfoPackage, through PC.
4. At the end of the load Attach a simple Program to Move the xyz.csv file from F1 to F2.

Else you can use simple one or two lines of UNIX/WINDOWS (depends on your OS) script to move the file from F1 to F2 , once you load is over.
While moving the file from F1 to F2 you can append the date at the end of the file and then move to F2, it is use full for future reference.

File adapter(receiver) to generate file in remote windows share folder?

Hello gurus,
1.Is that possible, to use the file adapter(NFS) to generate a file in a remote windows share folder?
How can i specify the target directory field?
2.Another question, when i specify the target directory like rootFolder/subFolder, then the file is generated in the folder
/usr/sap/XID/DVEBMGS00/j2ee/cluster/server0/rootFolder/subFolder.
Why did it put my path as sub-folder of /usr/sap/XID/DVEBMGS00/j2ee/cluster/server0?
Can i put it in another place? or even start from the root?

This is possible only, when your PI system is installed on Windows OS also.

The same way as you access it from your Windows Explorer.

Because this is the working directory of the Adapter Engine

How to set share folder for mac 8.6 in windows

I know how to set share folder for mac 8.6 in windows xp. I installed the NetBIOS. But i still can not found windows share file in mac 8.6. Need to install 'DAVE'?

I need to create a CM repository which should be available in the share folder so that all can see the reposiroty and the documents inside it.
I have created the CM repository and also tried changing the Root directory and etc but no success.

Hi Ramalakshmi,
you are using a CM Repository in FSDB Mode. Am I right? If so, check the following:
1. Did you configure your Network Path? The specified user should have full access to the resource.
2. Did you configure the Root Directory? Note: The Root Directory in your Repository Manager mustn't point to the same directory of your network path!!
3. Did you configure the Root Directory for Versions? Note: The Root Directory for Versions mustn't be a subfolder of your Root Directory!! Must point to a folder which contains the subfolders "versions, workingresources, workspaces, wastebasket"!
4. Persistence Mode must be set to "FSDB"
5. Windows Landscape System must be the same as your Network Path.

SCCM Task Sequence Fail to Connect Share Folder on SCCM server

those days we have an task sequence issue- can't connect to share folder on the SCCM server
Enviroment
in our network, we have DHCP server, DC server, DNS server. we are trying to bring up an new server to boot from the SCCM server. we have two VLAN in our environment. VLAN 54 and VLAN 200.
the DHCP/DC/SCCM/DNS are all running on VLAN200
Issue
we have those steps in this task sequence
Installing OS
setup windows and configuration manager
connect to an share folder to SCCM(run some sicrpts)
run the scripts
install the sqlserver
1. when the VM running on VLAN 200, no issue on all the task list, we can access the share folder on SCCM server.
and task sequence run ran success.
2. but when VM running on VLAN 54, issue came. when the task sequence run into the [Setup Operation System]/[Connect to network folder]. this step can't get the share folder to sccm server.
then the task sequcne was quit, so we logined to vm have a look. run the ipconfig/all. no IP address get from DHCP server.
but when we run the command ipconfig/renew on this VM, then we can get the IP address from DHCP server.
we have tried an alternative solution like below.
add an step ipconfig/renew before connect to share folder, then the task sequence can connect to share folder, but when the task run into last step- install the SQL from package.
unfortunately, we came cross another issue.

so we suspect there may something to do with network, but the network team said there is no issue on their side. so what i can go to research, how can i fiind the root cause or how to confirm it is an network issue. do you guys have any idea on this issue?

The error means RPC server unavailable. TS needs to invoke Execution Manager by RPC. This may be caused by the issue of RPC starting. I suggest you check the RPC service availability first. Another try is to add a restart computer step before installing
SQL. If still no avail, add a Delay "cmd.exe /c timeout /t 900".
Regarding the connecting network share issue, seems the network services has not been initializing or ready. Another possibility is the DHCP time out. Check the Event log and this may give you some clues of why the network is not ready or DHCP cannot get
IP address. Network Monitor can also be used to monitor the IP helper when the Client try to send DHCP request after reboot.

[solved] virtual box share folder unable to mount

I am having vista and using virtual box installed arch linux as the guest.
I have installed the base system from archlinus iso
I created a shared folder called prem
When I tried to mount share folder through I get the following
mount -t vboxsf prem /mnt/vbox
mount: unknown filesystem type 'vboxsf'
I found that I have to install guest additions
I clicked on the devices - install guest additions
I didnt found any file at /media/cdrom/VBoxLinuxAdditions-x86.run
How to install VBoxLinuxAdditions-x86.run where is the file located.
Or in arch linus should I install something to make share folder work

After installing the Guest Additions, you can use the Shared Folders Functionality. To access them, you have to define at least one in the VM settings. Open the VM Settings and go to Shared Folders. You can define them there. Click on the Add button and browse for a folder you want to share. Make sure that the name of the share doesn't contain any illegal characters like white spaces. Keep the name as simple as possible. In this howto, I will use the name share.
Now that you have defined a SF, it's time to mount it. Boot the Guest and open a terminal. Create a folder where you will mount it on. E.g. in your home folder. I will use ~/host for the mount point.
Now mount it with the following command:

sudo mount -t vboxsf share ~/host
Note that with this, the default mount options are used and all files are owned by root. This can be changed by adding some mount options. Options are passed on with the -o parameter. You can use multiple options with one parameter, seperate the values with a comma. See the man page of mount for more info on which options you can use. The User Manual also notes the options compatible with the Shared Folders. To mount the SF so that you are the owner of the files, use this command:

If you want to have it mount automatically upon each boot, put the mount command in /etc/rc.local (Debian based distro's), or whatever script is run at the end of the boot process. The Shared Folders service should mount them automatically, but that doesn't always happen.
Using /etc/fstab has little effect, because that file is processed before the SF module is loaded and will fail to mount the share. Sometimes, the share does get mounted because the GA check for it when they are loaded upon boot, but it's very flaky, meaning it doesn't work most of the time. You're better of with the first option.

Upload file to windows share folder running on unix

Hi, I am having requirement to upload the files into windows share folder, It works fine If I run the application on windows, but we moved the application to UNIX, so right now the client has to upload the files to windows shareholder , server is running on the UNIX,
as I am using the simple File file = new File(//share/shareholder),
so the problem is once we move to UNIX, how can I handle ., any example will really helpful.

Vendor file on FTP folder. Current prg is designed to pick frm share folder

As per the agreement, Vendor will place the file on FTP folder. Currently program is designed to pick the file from the share folder. Make the changes to the program to pick the file directly from the FTP folder.

Hi ,
It is possible to pick the file from the FTP site using login credentials. Please check standard program RSFTP002 , on giving the crdentials of the user and concerned command to be executed on the FTP(example dir command to look list of files in a directory of the FTP site).
The standard program will use function modules to connect and execute commands on FTP site.
SAP will support only FTP not secured FTP. Please make sure of this before you work on.

Fail to Forward Email from a Share Folder

Hi all,
We are using GroupWise 703HP2 and our WebAccess server is running 703HP3. We just discover that, after reported by a user recently, when you're using WebAccess and browse into a share folder (from another user), when you're reading the email, there's no "Forward" option for you.
If you back to the list of emails of that share folder, right-click, you can then select "Forward". However, after you type in anything (or even leave it blank) and press "Send". An error message pops up - "Your message did not send." and the message will not be sent out.
Strangely, if we switch back using the GroupWise client, we can forward emails inside the same share folder without any problem.
Is it a bug or a limited of WebAccess?
