Share folio with someone in China

Hello,
I've made a folio in Belgium, which I am now trying to share with some one in China, via the Adobe Content Viewer.
When they log in in the Content Viewer, they get no download invitation, nothing at all.
I've allready tried loggin in at my end (on 2 different iPads), with his (chinese) log-in and password, and it works fine then. I do get the invitation right away.
Has any of you heard of Chinese blocking (censorship) of the Content viewer, like with Facebook or twitter?
Is there a work-around, or  is there something else that can go wrong?
Kind regards
Vanessa

We had the same problem and asked to Adobe. See Adobe's answer below:
The delivery of folio files into China requires that the DPS Apps be compiled differently to allow for folio files to be delivered from a CDN service provided by a company called ChinaCache instead of Akamai who handles our file delivery rest of world. We believe that Adobe's use of ChinaCache coupled with the restrictions I detailed below will allow Adobe to successfully serve content into mainland China.  The restrictions that I am about to outline are intended to keep the service running and available adhering to Chinese law and to reflect the significantly higher cost to Adobe that ChinaCache incurs compared to Akamai.  The restrictions for DPS delivery into China are:
Any company delivering into China needs to both sign a DPS agreement and the addendum (attached) which details these restrictions
We limit file sizes delivered into China at 250MB.  This restriction is directly related to cost via ChinaCache
For every publication delivered into China (aka Vogue, Allure, Cosmo etc.), the customer must present to Adobe a General Administration of Press and Publication ("GAPP").  (GAPP licenses are not provided to foreign owned corporations.  They are only provided to joint ventures or Chinese entities.)  Beyond detailing this restriction, Adobe should not be in any way providing legal guidance to customers.
Agree that Adobe is not liable or responsible for interruptions/delays in service etc.

  • Sharing Folio With Someone Via Email.

I'm new to DPS, and I'm creating a sample folio in order to see how it works.  The problem I'm having is that
the Folio articles themselves do not show up, i.e. no words and images as I see in InDesign.
Below is a description of what I did and what I see.
I created two articles and put them in one folio.  The very first thing I really want to learn how to do is how to share this with someone, especially someone like a potential employer, who may or may not have their own DPS or Adobe account.
So, I understand that in the Folio Builder there is a dropdown menu
on the top right corner of that window where you can select Share, and then enter in someone's email address.
I sent it to myself as a test, incidentally another email address than the one I have used to log into Adobe for my DPS use.
When I get the email, it contains a link.  The wording is like: MYNAME has shared the SAMPLENAME folio with you.
The email also has this line: To accept the invitation or access the folio in the Folio Producer web client, click on the link above.
So, when I click on it, it goes to a page on this domain: https://digitalpublishing.acrobat.com, and
then loads this page with Digital Publishing Suite at the top.  A row of drop down menus and buttons, including a button named "Open."
Then it shows my SAMPLENAME folio in a row.
If I select the name of my folio, and click the "Open" button, it goes to a new page, with
Digital Folio Producer: Editor at the top, with SAMPLENAME next to it.  Then it has a row
of buttons and a slider for Thumbnail size. Below that are two drop down menus with
the names of my articles, SAMPLEARTICLE1 and SAMPLEARTICLE2.  Those dropdown
menus contain the options: Copy to...; Delete...; Lock; Rename...
I do not see my actual articles, words and images.  I do not see how to open these up.  I cannot find anywhere on the
internet, including in Adobe video tutorials, if anyone else has had this problem, or how to solve it.  Can anyone please help?

Bob, thanks again for responding.  I have to say though that I still need more clarification, or perhaps this is something that Adobe is not doing correctly.  In other words, can you pass this along up the chain, so that it is fixed, so that a team of engineers comes up with a better solution?  I'm talking about the regular sharing, not the "social sharing," which is beyond me as I don't have a pro or enterprise DPS subscription.
I need to understand exactly how I'm supposed to share a folio with someone.  I suppose that of the two evils, requiring an H.R. person to have InDesign with DPS installed on their computer versus having an iPad where they can download the free Adobe Content Viewer, then the ACV app is the lesser of two evils.
Can you please break it down into steps.
Such as 1.  Once having created a folio that I want to share I tell the person I want to share it with----go to
this web page: https://digitalpublishing.acrobat.com/welcome.html, create an account.  Then, tell me the
email address you used to create the account.  Then, download the Adobe Content Viewer on your ipad.
    Then, sign into that account.
    2. I select "Share" from the dropdown menu of the folio builder, and type in the email address they used to
register with Adobe's DPS page, and perhaps include a message and send it.
    3. The recipient sees the email, and then DOESN'T click on the links inside the email.  They just understand----or I tell them----that they should ignore the link------and go to their app, where they will see an update button, and then
they update it and it downloads the Folio I've been wanting to share with them.
    Is this correct?
If this is correct, why is it not spelled out this way anywhere on the site, or in the tutorial video?
And also, if this is correct, does this not seem crazy?
What is the point of the email being sent, which has links in it, if the links are not to be clicked?
Why can I NOT------just as an example off the top of my head----export a Folio in a format that can be
read by a standalone Adobe Content Viewer, that any person can download from an Adobe page?
Like the way an SWF file can be exported from Flash, and then played by a email recipient via a
standalone Flash Player.  Yes, you either have to send them a standalone Flash player, or they
need to download it themselves, but I don't think they have to register to do it.  And they don't
need to sign in within Flashplayer.
First of all, asking a recipient to download and register their own Adobe ID (let's assume they are not a
graphic designer) is bad enough.  But then, in order to share it with them, I send them an email with links
    that don't work as expected.
    I've got an idea.
Let's say that some people you want them to see the Folio on their ipad, not be able to
edit it, just view it such as with the Adobe Content Viewer app.  And there are other people where you want
them to be able to edit it in Folio Producer at this domain: https://digitalpublishing.acrobat.com
How about there are two different actions in InDesign to take for these two very different scenarios?
Are you telling me there is one method that enables both of these outcomes?  This same email that's generated
is for these two separate purposes?
Even the method for viewing the shared Folio which is to sign in, within Folio Builder which is within InDesign, doesn't require going to the email.  The email seems to be sent just as an acknowledgment that you enabled this Folio to be
shared with a particular person (identified by their email address).
In other words, if you just want someone to take a look at it, and they have Folio Builder and thus Desktop Content Viewer, the "Share" action could enable sharing on the Adobe website, but an email doesn't actually need to get sent to the person with whom it's being shared.  The links in the email will just confuse them.
So, the https://digitalpublishing.acrobat.com page, found through the link in the email is strictly for editing it the Folio outside of InDesign--------but you cannot view it in your browser.  In other words, if you don't have InDesign, then you
can edit in your desktop browser, and you can view it on your iPad, but you cannot edit it on your iPad, or view it in your desktop browser.  Is this correct?
I think something needs to be done, this process doesn't seem elegant.  And there needs to be more clear explanation of this process outside the forum.

  • I have created a .m4v file from iPhoto and would like to share it with someone else knowing that the file is quiet large (86 Mo), i used to share file with mobileme, how Can I do that with iCloud ? or another way....

How recently did you switch?  If it's less than 60 days, then Verizon simply reinstates your previous account.  The fact that you were on the EDGE plan and mailed the devices back, and they apparently are somewhere in the system, could cause complications, and it might just work out that you just go back on the same plan and they set you up with the same devices.  I'm not sure how it will go - but since you are still being billed for the devices...

How do friends and family view my photos?
Friends and family with iCloud accounts can view your photos in the Photos app on any device using iOS 6 or later; on a Mac in iPhoto 9.4 or Aperture 3.4 or later; on a Windows PC with Windows Vista or later and iCloud Control Panel 2.0 or later installed; or on a second generation or later Apple TV with software version 5.1 or later installed. They can also view your photos on the web if you enable Public Website in the settings or options for your Shared Photo Stream. Learn more about inviting people to view your shared photo streams.

  • Still possible to share folio with an iPad to view, without publishing?

    Hi,
Is it still possible to share a folio from the folio builder panel in InDesign, so that it can be downloaded to one device (iPad) for viewing/testing or is this info out of date? Do I really have to go through all the IOS developer certs and purchasing one single serial number hoopla just to view on a single iPad?
    Any info gratefully appreciated.
    Thanks.

What would lead you to believe that this has changed?

  • Share Folio with Twitter

We deaktivated Sharing with Twitter in our APP (DPS App Builder / Social Sharing).
But in the Folio there is still the Button "Twitter" avaliable.
Not like the Pinterest Button – it its correctly shown greyed.

The Social sharing with twitter never was hooked in the APP Builder.
    Here are the screens…

  • Share Screen with someone with Multiple Monitors.

I have one 24" monitor. My Brother has three 24" monitors. When I share his screen I get all three. TOO SMALL on my monitor. Is there a setting on either side we can set so I only see center or Main monitor

Bumping this back up. Is there any new insight here? I really need this to work! I have two screens at work but only one on my PowerBook. I'd like to be able to actually see one screen at a time when I'm sharing.
And just to be clear, I mean in iChat, not in the Finder's Screen Sharing feature.
    Thanks!

  • If I create a document in pages 5.5 can I share it with someone who is running the previous version?

I have upgraded to Yosemite and to Pages 5.5.  Now, it appears that every time I edit a Pages document using my new 5.5 version, that document cannot be opened by any of my colleagues who have not yet updated their OS and Pages software.  Is this correct?  If so, is there any way to save it as the previous version?

A file format that is perpetually churned and incompatible with everything else?
You do realise Apple is going to keep on doing this to you?
All for something that is essentially crippled.

  • HT4942 Is there a way to share an iWork document with someone else?

Not with icloud.  You can email it to them or use some other sharing service like Dropbox.

  • Share photos with Apple TV

Trying to share some photos from the new Photos OS X app through my Apple TV (3rd gen).  With iPhotos, I used to just use the photo stream, but now Photo Stream is no longer available with Photos (at least I can't find it if it does exist).
I can select a "shared album", but I would like to create a shared album, just for the Apple TV and no one else.  Currently to create a shared album, you need to share it with "someone" in contacts, or am I missing something fundemental?
    Help would be appreciated
    THX

I was able to finally get photos shared to my Apple TV (3rd gen) by creating a shared album and leaving the invite box open.  All I did was name the album and then click Create.  Photos then creates a little cloud called "Activity" and a folder called "Photos" in the sidebar under "Shared" that shows the photos you have added.
Now the odd thing is that I added about 50 photos to that album....and now it's up to 272 photos!  I have not added more, it's growing on it's own!?!  Not sure what it's doing really, but it's getting bigger as I type!  It's now over 300!  It's....IT'S ALIVE!!!!
But I still don't see Photos in iTunes to be shared via Home Sharing.  Am I doing something wrong?
    Create a shared album
Select the photos and video clips you want to share.
Click the Share button in the toolbar and choose iCloud Photo Sharing, then click New Shared Album.
Type a name for the shared album, then type the email addresses of the people you want to share the album with.
Not really sure why Apple changed this, I personally don't want my photos on the cloud.  This seems like a huge step backwards to me.

  • How do I share desktop with Lion user?

So prior to installing Mountain Lion, I provided tech support to my mom by sharing her desktop via iChat. Now though, I can't figure out how to share her desktop. I'm using Mountain Lion, she still has Lion. So she doesn't have Messages and I don't have iChat. I can't even send her a text message, because Messages says she's not registered with iMessage. All the documentation I can find about sharing desktops on Mountain Lion says that you can share desktops with someone else on your same network, but I can't find anything about sharing desktops over the internet like we used to do with iChat. If I can avoid walking her through installing a VNC client, I would really like that.

    Hi Wade,
You seem to be describing an @me.com name that you used for iChat and was a MobileMe and now is an iCloud name.
This "Account" should be active in Mail, Contacts and Calendars for Messages
    Uploaded with Skitch!
As far as the AIm Servers are concerned the @mac.com name and the @me.con iCloud Name  are in fact separate AIM Screen Names.
If your Buddies are in the @mac.com Buddy List they will not appear in the @me.com name you have linked it to at Apple.
That is to say If I had an @mac.com and an @Me.com name  AIM would see them as separate Screen Names.
    One stage further:-
    ralphjohnsr (AIM registered name)
    [email protected]
    [email protected]
    are three separate AIM "Accounts"
(They are also three separate Buddies if you were adding them to Your Buddy list - although only one of them is real)
You said your mother does not have Messages.
Only Messages can send iMessages  (The Apple iD you have set up for this may or may not be an iCloud ID)
    iChat cannot accept iMessages.
If she has iOS 5.x.x on her iPhone (depending on the level of technology you have managed to get her to embrace) then you could send her iMessages that way.
    SO...
Your Message > Preferences > Accounts  should list the iMessages "Account" and those iChat ones you had
    Uploaded with Skitch!
An iCloud name that is the iMessages Account name may also need to be added as an "AIM" iChat type Account.
If the Jabber ID is only used at work and is not going to be used then you can untick the Messages item next to it in System Preferences > Mail, Contacts and Calendars or Untick the "Enable this Account" in Messages > Preferences > Accounts.

I am designing a DPS single edition publication for a client. Is there a way for me to share the unpublished folio with the client if they do not have an Adobe Creative Cloud account or an Adobe ID? If they just need to signup for an Adobe ID, what else do I (or they) need to do so that they are able to signin to the Adobe Content Viewer and see the unpublished folio?

They need an iPad, the Adobe Content Viewer and a free Adobe ID.
You share the folio via the folio builder panel to that ID.
That's it. When the client signs into the Content Viewer the folio will
    be available for download.
