Share for iTunes 7 is broken. Authorize Required.

After upgradeing to iTunes 7, none of my co-workers can share music. Everyone who is still on iTunes 6, can share just fine (even with iTunes 7 people),
but those using iTunes 7 can not listen to anyone's music who is also on iTunes 7. They, instead, get a message "would you like to Authorize this Computer" and they have to enter the password of the person they want to listen to.
There is an option to set a password for people to listen to your music, but noone has that turned on.
The only difference is iTunes 7 over iTunes 6.
Why is this?

Thanks, but ****, I got as far as reading 10.3.9 or later, thought that 10.4 IS later, read that 10.4.10 was only required for the iPhone, and let software update install it. I'm surprised it did it if it can't run on this OS. Do you know if there's any way I can install an older version? I have 7.1.1 (I think) with me, and I wouldn't mind installing that. I pretty much HAVE to install something, as this is a machine at work, and I'm very reluctant to upgrade the OS without authority...

I can't seem to share all my music for Family Share - in particular CD's that have been imported into my account don't appear to be available. My computer does not meet the requirements for iTunes 7.7

Okay, so I think all these problems that I'm having are because my new computer does not meet the requirements for iTunes 7.7.

I checked my system and I have:
1. 1.60 GHz instead of 2GHz
2. 511 MB RAM instead of 512 MB RAM
I have no idea how to check MB for video RAM or MHz. Since it's not shown in system I'm assuming that this computer doesn't have any.
The system requirements compared to mine are just off by a bit, but could this still be the problem?
Also, could I use an older version of iTunes that will work with my system & could you please post the link for the download.

One of you needs to use a separate Apple ID for iCloud, FaceTime & iMessage.
The Apple ID needs to be a verified email address. Once you have an email address, that can be verified, go here & create the ID:

Then on one of the phones, turn off Contacts, Calendars, etc. for iCloud. You'll be prompted to keep the data or delete it from the phone, then turn off iMessage, FaceTime & delete the iCloud account...Settings>iCloud...scroll down...delete account. Then, setup iCloud using the new Apple ID, turn on iMessage & Facetime.
This will have no affect on the ID you both share for iTunes content, & you can continue to do so.

You need to set up a separate iCloud account for each person that does not want to share their iCloud data. If you share an iCloud account with someone, any data you both sync with the shared account is merged, and you end up with each other's data on your device(s). Yes, I was referring to the iTunes ID not needing to be the same as the ID used for iCloud. In order to set up an Apple ID your children will need to have a valid email address that can be verified by Apple. Apple requires this so they have a way of contacting the owner if there is a problem with the account, such as when you may need to reset the password on the account. When you set up the ID, Apple will send a verification email to this email account and you will need to click on the verificating link in the email to complete the process. If they don't currently have an email account you can just set one up with gmail or another free email hosting service. They don't have to use the account but you will need it to set up the ID.

No it's not stealing. They have an allowance that you can share with so many computers/devices. You'll have to authorize her computer to play/use anything bought on your acct. You can do this under the Store menu at top when iTunes is open on her computer.
As far as getting it all on her computer....I think but I am not sure (because I don't use the feature) but I think if you turn on Home Sharing in iTunes it may copy the music to her computer. I don't know maybe it just streams it. If nothing else you can sign into your acct on her computer and download it all to her computer from the cloud. Not sure exactly how to go about that, I haven't had to do that yet. I wonder if once you authorize her computer and then set it up for automatic downloads (under Edit>Preferences>Store) if everything would download. Sorry I'm not much help on that.

I'm having this same problem as well and cannot advance--very irritating. All of the information is filled out correctly and I've editted my AppleID information online separately as well to get around this issue, but no luck...

You don't. If you want to have the administrator application installed on two systems, you will need to purchase a second 10-client copy of ARD.

FYI: iTunes account (used to make purchases) is not the same as iTunes library (iTunes on your computer with music, movies, etc.).

You can but you will not be able to limit what she syncs.
I would like to avoid 'checking' and 'unchecking' individual songs every time one of us tries to synch our ipods to the library.
I don't recommend using (only) the checkmarks to select what to sync.
Each of you can create your own playlists then sync only those playlists.
Then add/delete from your own playlists to change iPod content.
The only time I uncheck items is if I rarely/never want to sync them to anything, such as Christmas music or old audiobooks.
I suggest you each have your own computer login account. Then everyone has their own contacts, calendars, and everything else.
You and your husband can share an iTunes library and let your daughter have her own.
