Share in Elements 9

I recently installed Elements 9 and also have Elements 8, as well as Lightroom 3. First, had trouble with where images got saved (which is now resolved) but have tried to share an image using e-mail attachments, or share to flickr, facebook, etc. and I'm getting the same message..."Loading the Elements Organizer". After many seconds of this screen, nothing else happens. I've logged in so this isn't the problem. Thanks.

It’s much better to use Lightroom for sharing.
In the Library module click on Publish Services and choose Facebook, Flickr, Smugmug etc.
Right click on one of those tabs and choose Set Up.
Once you have entered your ID and password for each service you can drag images from Lightroom folders and then simply hit the publish button.
There are known issues with emailing from PSE9 and PSE8 using Windows 7 which Adobe have not still not patched. I’m sure they think all us suckers will simply upgrade to PSE10!

CAN'T ACCESS SHARE ON ELEMENTS 10

Earlier I was blocked from using my Elements 10 so I ugraded to Elements 11 which I hired a treck person to install. After several tries to access the share part of the program he went to HELP and after many changes to my e mail address he did get it to work with a new g mail address.
I thought this might fix my 10 elements but it did not. When I go to sign in it will not connect and I can not even cancel it. I have to shut the program down or turn off my computer and restart. HELP
I had a case #Code FFF59BD7821CE88BD33F7B46F81A43 just now when I went to apply this to my new request it said the case is closed. HELP

You can't sign in with PSE 10 because there's nothing to sign in to. Photoshop.com is gone, and you should have received several emails about your photos getting moved to adobe revel. However, revel doesn't integrate with PSE the way photoshop.com did (except in PSE 11). Sign out, stop syncing, and stop using the welcome screen to start PSE (make a direct shortcut/dock icon for the actual editor and/or organizer program file(s).
Unfortunately, if you had a photoshop.com account, your contact book was stored there and that's gone, too.

Kodak easy share and Elements 11 and photo retouching questions

I have kodak easyshare on my pc. That's where i store all my photos. Can I use Elements 11 without interfereing with my kodak software ? I like to transfere my photos from my digital camera right to my kodak softwear. Can I still keep doing that and only transfere the ones I want to correct onto elements 11 ?. Will elements 11 take away oily skin from photos and make them look fresh and non oily ? I like the glamour shot look without everyone having an oily face. Thanks.

When you copy photos from your camera through any software (Kodak, Elements, Lightroom, Windows OS import, etc.) a physical copy is created on your storage media (wherever you configured the software to copy photos to).
When you install Photoshop Elements, you also get Photoshop Elements Organizer. Organizer serves as a virtual library of all the pictures and videos that are available to your computer. You can choose which photos are included in Organizer, by choosing only those pictures you would like to import. From the Organizer application, you can view your assets, and then modify, enhance, or alter them accordingly in Photoshop Element Editor (photos) or Premiere Elements (for videos, requires separate purchase).
To answer your questions:
Can I use Elements 11 without interfereing with my kodak software ? [Ivan David] Yes!
Can I still keep doing that and only transfere the ones I want to correct onto elements 11 ? [Ivan David] Yes, absolutely. Choose and import only the photos you want in Photoshop Elements Organizer.
Will elements 11 take away oily skin from photos and make them look fresh and non oily ? [Ivan David] This. I believe, might be possible, but might require some skills. There is no straightforward way of doing this in Photoshop Elements 11 yet.

Can I share PS Elements 13 with another computer?

I recently purchase PS Elements 13 as a download to my computer only. My wife now wants her own PS. Does she have to purchase another download or can I transfer mine to her laptop?

Yes you can install it on two machines in the same household. Just make sure to use the same email address to "sign in" so that Adobe servers knows that it is in the same household.

Pictures are too large to share

I jsut received this photoshop program as a christmas gift and just was able ot finally figure out how to edit an image. I now wanted to save it and share it on facebook but it is telling me I can't because the file size is too large. How do I save it or compress it smaller so I can share it on facebook or send it as an email? Help please

If you wish to do this for bulk of files use File->Process Multiple Files option and resize in one go all your images. Make sure you do not overwrite your originals in case you do need to keep them.
Also when you share via Elements Organizer it also gives option to share in specific size.

Could you please check , if you have any antivirus then disable it and then try again.

Looking for a Programmer to Create A YouTube "Embed" Plug In

Hello everyone,
I am Looking for a Programmer to Create An Acrobat Pro "Embed" Plug In based on the free YouTube API.
The purpose of this is to be able to easily embed YouTube Video's within Acrobat documents so that It can stream the content into the PDF file.
Many have suggested to download the content and embed it, but doing so will violate the user agreement with YouTube plus it would increase the size of the PDF file consideribly.
If there are any Programmers out there that would be interested in taking this project on please let me know. I believe there is a real need for this tool which people would really like to have.
The programming goals for the project would be as follows:

- Educational Institutions that want to create lesson materials with Web Content.
- Business's that wish to share media elements from the web within PDF presentations.

Since I only found the plug in yesterday I've only played with it a little bit.
First thoughts:
It works. It's easy to set up. I followed the instructions and I had a link working to our promotional video on youtube in only a couple of minutes.
Things I found:
I am using layers extensively in my pdf and wanted the plug in window to show up on only one layer. However as I mentioned before it doesn't do that so my workaround was to change the settings in the video to play in a floating window. However the plugin window is still visible if you do this, so my workaround was to reduce it to essentially a dot on the page and hide it on something pale grey! I created a button in InDesign and used that to fire the video.
Security stuff:
Obviously the pop up windows are somewhat frustrating but I see no way to get around them without doing what Joel suggested in his other blogs, which given the amount of users receiving my pdf and their varying competence levels with computers is not really an option. My workaround for that was to include a note explaining what to expect and do when they did show up.
For the future:
See if Adobe would make this an option in InDesign and usable within it's layers section. That would be awesome. I haven't had a chance to check out the addin Joel mentioned that might help with this in Acrobat. Have you?

Bootpd not giving IP address to a PS/3

My home network is generally served by a Linux box running dhcpd and acting as a firewall and NAT router to the greater internet. However, I have an A/V closet with some equipment in it, which I'd like to wirelessly bridge to this network. On the network side, there's some old netgear 802.11b wireless router that I've had in bridge mode for several years, and which seems to work reasonably well.
In the A/V closet, there are three items of interest: An Intel Mac Mini running Mac OS X 10.4.9, a TiVo Series 3 DVR, and a Sony PS/3 game console. These are connected together using wired Ethernet through a desktop GigE hub/switch. If I run a big wire across the house from this switch to my main network, everything works fine; all components get IP off the Linux dhcpd.
Now, I disconnect the wire, make the Mac connect to the network wirelessly. This works; I can surf the web and whatnot. I then turn on Internet Sharing on the Mac, and share the wired interface out to the general network. Here's where the problems start.
The TiVo can send a DHCP request, and the Mac bootpd will respond with an answer, and the TiVo can get to the internet, so routing through the Mac works. However, the PS/3 does not get an IP from the Mac. Looking at the system.log for messages from bootpd, I see the requests coming on from the PS/3, but bootpd doesn't answer. There is no error of any sort in the log, just the lines with requests, and no answer.
I've also looked at the traffic with tcpdump, and it seems to confirm the hypothesis: for some reason, DHCP requests by the PS/3 are ignored, while requests from the TiVo work fine. I don't think it's a problem with the PS/3 itself, because it works with dhcpd on Linux, and it also works with a large variety of wireless routers in the world (just search the web to get this confirmed).
What may be causing this, and what can I do to fix it?

What is your primary program Photoshop Elements 12 or Premiere Elements 12? Each is a standalone program with its own Elements Organizer 12. But when they are both on the same computer, they share the Elements Organizer 12 catalog.
Because of the NAS nature of your question, if it can be answered in a user to user forum, the best place may be in the Adobe Photoshop Elements Forum.

The Adobe document on moving the Elements Organizer catalog does not get into NAS and the type of situation that you are in.

FLASH and Co only via download?

hi friends
mostly I use my computer with my premiere elements 13 offline.
but when I try to make exports for the internet on this maschine,( my private website where I will show my hollidayvideos) I cant do th exports/publishings cause premiere
needs to go online. did I make mistakes while installing it? why cant export/publish -for example flash- in offline mode?
my idea was to take the footage from the camera, edit it, export it to my harddisk, and when I am back home, than I will load it up the my website. seems to be a nogo?
hope that there is a solution. if it is a feature, that premiere elements doesnt have all options and can only do the job when online with ADOBE, then I realy have a problem.
but I cant beleive that, ADOBE must tell this prior to sell to the customer if the product doesnt work in offline mode with all features.

and next time when I go to holliday maybe I take another option with my camera.I was so proud that this little thing does that realy good looking fullHDs, so I filmed the two months in Portuagal in this format.
and -by the way- the Toshiba TV of my doughter also doesnt play the clips from the cam!!
my Samsung and our Computers does!
and it realy lookes great 1920x1080 60p!
the sound from the cam is unusable, on the Algarve Cliffs there was a strong wind - I do the sound on my computer, ..

I see the menue-point to publish to an private website. I thought this would give me a file which I can upload with my upüload-tool for my website later and first check it offline.
but I cant export/publish or whatever, cause the prog always wants to connect to ADOBE.and -sometimes I am in my mobilhome or at home and there it collides with my firewall.it doesnt connect to youtube, ist ADOBE - I can see this!
I have lost the game, yes I was missinterpreting but now I am much more clever..;-)
so I must realy look for another software?
and: if a company says that their software supports AC3 - I must be aware and ask what they meanandif they say that they will support YOUTUBE publishing, than this might be that first ADOBE wants to see the clip.otherwise I dont unerstand why the connection doesnt direct to YOUTUBE but to ADOBE!
what ever I try the connection is always to ADOBE, everytime! (tried several times..and I can watch what the program does!) this is NOT a first time activation, looks like that they want give away the codec.
for 5.1 (AAC) your first help was sufficient, I could made the mp4 with a 6-channel AAC, but cant mix the channels in PREMIERE.
and I make the sound in channelorder for AC3 5.1, the channel with AAC are in different order as you know.so I cant use it....
its stripping down my too high expectations, PREMIERE Elements is just for cutting off the unwanted parts of a clip or doing some transitions or assemble some takes together - thats all.
this weekend I start testing VirtualDub and the other freeware programs. and I will write to see how VEGAS works.VirtualDub does cooperate with AFTEN - my AC3 encoder, anyway I am very sceptical, and there should be a programm called DIRECTOR anything, I have to search for this..they say it supports AC3 (hahaha) and exports for internet use...(LOL)

Multiple Application Systems

Hi, everybody!
I'm developing an ERP application on Designer 6i r4, made of
multiple modules (e.g., "Global", "Sales", "Financial" etc.).
Some elements of each module (e.g., "Business Functions") need
to be available for use in the other ones.
1. What is the best structure to do that?
- A single Application System for the ERP, with children Folders
for each module?
- An Application System for the ERP, with children Application
Systems for each module?
- Other structure?
2. Do I need to perform some special operation to "share" the
elements with the modules?

here are more details for the procedure mentioned above:
Datafiles of transport requests are in most SAP-Installations located in /usr/sap/trans/data. They are named R<# of transport request>.<SID>
The cofiles are in most SAP-Installtions located in /usr/sap/trans/cofiles. They are named K<# of transport request>.<SID>
Do NOT change the names of the files. We've discovered that it's safer to zip those files, as some virus scanners in email-servers may scramble the files.
Locate the files in the appropriate directory of the target system and go to the import-queue using STMS.
Chose Extras / Other requests / Add to add the request to the queue (note: you must use the request number of the source-system e.g. <SID>K900123)
When you start the import, choose option "Overwrite Objects in unconfirmed Repairs", when you want existing objects to be overridden.

I don't seem to be doing so well here even on replying. I was answering via my email. Anyway, yes, all are jpg files.
I did try the edit you suggested as well and to no avail.
It has worked previously on an intermittent basis. There are no factors which point to one thing being causative rather it is more
the luck of the draw.
I have manually turned off all firewalls. Rebooted the computer several times and the individual program as well. I have sent fewer
pix and smaller albums, however, nothing has worked,

Universe design for SAP BPC (MSAS cube)

During the designing of a Universe on top of a MSAS cube there is the moment I may select Dimensions & Hierarchies. Here there are ID's of my model, e.g. Accounts-Lev1, Time-Lev1, etc.
How do I get to see the descriptions of the levels in the Universe Designer?

In some way is true what you think, is important to put effort and intelligence in design very well the Bex query also the BW solution.
But the effort is not only there, you can improve that with a good Universe creating MDX Measures, changing the BW names (Dimensions and measures) for other more comprehensives for the users, change and reorder the classes and dimensions to be more close to user concept, create new hierarchies and others.
Don't forget that the Universe is a semantic layer to hide complexity and is useful for:
- Map complex data into familiar business terms such as products, customers, and sales.
- Enable simple, intuitive, and self-guided data analysis.
- Guarantee single version of the truth (identical results) no matter what tool is used)
Some tips are:
You do not need a BE query for every report and you do not need a Universe for every existing BE query
Focus the implementation strategy on limiting the number of Bex queries and Universes that share common elements
Build a small set of Bex queries focusing on sharing common elements in a small number of Universes
Understand that primarily the WebI Query Panel definition influences how much data is retrieved from BW, and not the BE query design or the WebI Report layout, In some situations extremely large queries and universes can adversely affect performance
Removing / Hide Unnecessary u201CL00u201D Objects
Removing / Hide Unused or Redundant Detail Objects
Remove all prefixes « Lxx ». Copy the initial name in the Description of the object
Rename the attributes (Detail objects) when necessary : remove the suffixes when no Business signification
Optimizing Detail Object Syntax
