Share in FCP 7 to Youtube 1920?

In FCP 7 when I export via Share, Youtube, my 1920x1080 timeline comes out as 1280x720...any way to alter this to take advantage of new Youtube full HD res? How to make SHARING function for youtube in FCP 7 go to full HD 1920 not just 1280x720?
thanks
K

ok, it was only a matter of time. I doubt I'll bother with it. Our viewer are primarily corporate and they won't have the better viewing systems.
The Share is really just a combination of compression and uploading. You can create one of those yourself in Compressor and tweak the "heck" out of it. Just add the upload as a secondary process.
here's what Elgato is using and it's easy to create your own presets:
YouTube HD Video:
H.264 Main Profile, 5 Mbps max., 1280×720 max., 30 fps max. Audio: AAC-LC, stereo, 128 Kbps, 48 kHz.
Note: If the source movie is larger than 1280×720 it will be scaled to fit within 1280×720 preserving aspect ratio. Resolution is maintained if 1280×720 or smaller. Frame rate is maintained when 30 fps and smaller.

  • How to use Compressor for FCP X to YouTube

I just downloaded "Compressor 4" and find it's interface a lot more complex than FCP X. All I want to do is send my video to "YouTube".
The last video I uploaded to "YouTube" was a 1.25 hour HD video, using FCP X's Share to QT 7. It took 17 hours to upload this QT file to YouTube. I would like to upload the next 1.25 hour HD video at a lower resolution. I can't afford to ty up my only computer for so long.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    David

The Compressor preset for video sharing defaults to 720p and a bit rate 8 Mbs. If your orginal footage is 720, that's what I'd stay with. Actually, I might even bump up the bit rate; You Tubes just going to recompress and you might as well give them more to work with than less. If you started with 1080P, I would not scale it down.
I'm not sure I understand what happened with your 17 hour upload…specifically, how you came to share your video to QT7. I normally export from either FCX or FCP7 as QT movie self-contained, bring that into Compressor and encode for eb downoad using one of trhe h.264 presets as a start. If I re-size, I use frame controls. If I need to de-interlace, I also use frame controls. If I don't need to do either, or need filters, I let Compressor figure pretty much figure it out. I've never uploaded a movie aslong as yours. but if I did, I woud expect it to take under 2 hours…maybe.
Perhaps there was soething going on with at You Tube's end.

  • Exporting FCP Video to Youtube Sub-Channel

I want to export my FCP project to my youtube main channel but it got uploaded to my gmail youtube account instead.
I already uploaded over 20 videos on my main youtube account through Final Cut Pro but this is the first time it happened where it got sent to my Gmail youtube channel.
To get a better illustration, I sent a screenshot link:
    http://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx166/tobywchu/Screen%20Shot%202015-02-02%20a t%205.00.53%20PM.png
As you can see, I have 143 subs on my main youtube account so you know why I do not want the video to be uploaded  here on my gmail account with no subs or any content at all.
I also tried sending the project to compressor but I keep getting a quicktime error 2045. I also don't know what that is because this is also the first time I got the error. I had no problem compressing all my FCP projects in the past.
I was hoping if anyone can help me with this. Thank you!

I found out that exporting FCP to a different channel under the same gmail account was something you can adjust on youtube, apparently the problem wasn't on FCP to begin with.
However, for the failed compressor export, I haven't found a fix yet mainly because the forums have a different problem: plug-ins. Which I don't have.
The only additional detail I can give is that I deleted all my FCP events and projects back in Jan 1 to start fresh. I just recently added a brand new event folder so I'm not sure if that's the root of the problem. Did FCP reset something to trigger that quicktime error 2045 problem that keeps on occurring?

  • APE 7 best file format to share for later upload to YouTube?

i capture on a Canon FS11 in standard definition widescreen PAL an use adobe premiere elements 7.  i generally trim clips and put a title on, maybe adjust the sound level before uploading to YouTube.
Occasionally I have internet connection problems when sharing from APE7 (eg due to slow or intermittent wifi) and it hangs.  Or i edit clips when out and about say on a train and have no reliable upload at all.
So I would rather share clips to save on my hard drive and then upload to youtube manually later when hooked up to a stable wired commection.
What is the best format/settings to save/share to my hard drive that will achieve best qaulity when uploaded to youtube and converted there.  I am aware there is a trade off between quality and file size and i should like to find the best compromise with a smallish file size.
thanks for your help in advance

  • FCP 5.1 / YouTube Size Question

    Hi,
I have recently been doing work at my university on FCP 5.1 and I want to export the videos at the best quality possible for upload to YouTube - but I also want decent quality ones to put on my website.
What are the general sizes of a 5 min video exported? I usually get large (1GB) file sizes; is that about normal?
As for exporting the video for website, I've tried many settings but cannot seem to consistently get good quality AND small file sizes. Sometimes it works, and other times it's terrible.
All of the footage is DV captured, and in 16:9 format.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am still learning a lot about FCP (I'm usually an audio guy!).
    Thanks.
[Edit; I have searched for FCP 5, and read some of the YouTube search hits ; but a lot of them are talking about highest quality etc which I did not feel was applicable to this topic.]

if I send that to someone, will it automatically be viewed in the proper dimensions?
Yes. You have to save it in that state, then it will display with the correct aspect ratio.
For YouTube videos - are they generally very large file sizes?
There's no fixed rule to what folks upload -some will post stuff shot with their phone cam for instance. You can post most common formats so long as it is not more than 2GB and 10 minutes long.
The last one I put up was a 900MB, 3.5 minute, 16:9 DV file. It fills the YouTube screen and looks good.

  • File disappears when trying to export with "share" in FCP X...

I have FCP 10.1.3 running on a macbook pro running 10.9.4; attached to an external 8 tb drive with over 6 tb of free space.
When I try to export a project using "share," the file will start to save to my destination, but then just disappear at exactly the 50% mark. I've shared previous versions of the same file with no problem, and I have enough space to hold the file. I've tried restarting the app and the computer; I tried saving to an external drive and to my hard drive; the file will simply disappear from either destination at 50%.

This is weird. Before we proceed with other possible tests, did you try this with just one project, or with other as well? If just this one, create a new library, a new small test project and export that. Does it work? If it does, then the problem may me in the specific project or library.
    A few other ideas:
    1) Delete application preferences (almost always the first thing to try, as corrupt preferences have been known to cause strange malfunctions). Hold down the command and option keys while starting the application and confirm the deletion of preferences when asked.
Note: deleting preferences does not delete the application nor your media and libraries
    2) Open the Console application (it is in /Applications/Utilities) and look for messages that appear around the time the export fails.
    3) Try running the program from a pristine new user account and see if it exports correctly a small project there

  • Does share create as good a YouTube HD video as export methods?

There is a lot of information on the web about the "best" way to export from iMovie to upload HD to YouTube (not using the built in share method).
    Example:
    http://blog.davidglover.org/2009/03/creating-hd-video-with-imovie-09.html
Do these methods create a better YouTube HD video than the Share YouTube HD built into iMovie? If no, why are there so many various methods not using the built in share?

  • Share from FCP X to Podcast Producer Problem

    Hello,
I have a strange (what I think is strange) problem.  I can Share to Podcast Producer from iMovie and I believe QuickTime but I cannot do it in FCPX.  It lets me set it up and connect to the server but the Publish button is never highlighted.  I don't get any errors or any other indication that something is wrong.  Is there a permission or other setting that needs to be turned on to allow FCPX to do this?
    Thanks,
    Todd

Apparently nobody else has ever had this problem or there are no suggestions for what the problem could be?

  • Share to YouTube: yellow triangle "1 warning" - Russ H, please help again

This is my third call for help regarding FCPX 10.0.9 with OSX 10.9. Russ H has kindly solved my previous problems. I am new to FCP so have the novice's usual questions and problems.
First I could not "share" at all. Russ suggested that I deactivate auto rendering, start a new project, and copy the old one into the new timeline. It worked nicely while "sharing" into a DVD. Great.
However. when I tried for more and wished to "share" the 40' project to YouTube, first I got - as nearly everybody else, judging by this discussion :-) -  the famous "QuickTime error -50". I promptly responded by preventing App Nap, and ... I got (during the next "share") a yellow triange with "1 warning" on the "share" screen. As the result of all my experiences, I tried everything together, including the first workaround with a new project. No result. Now, I keep the App Nap deactivated all the time.
Is there any hope, at least a method to find out what and where is the clip/frame with "1 warning" ? Or is it something else ?
P.s.1.  I am new to FCPX but have incidents of a long but not continous history of editing on "IBM compatibles" with accelerators like Canopus Raptor, starting with Adobe Premiere 5.5 and 6. Those unforgettable edits and projects were punctuated by a crash (or more) a day and equally continous frustrations. About 6-7 years ago, after a pause, I had a few peaceful and satisfactory years with Adobe Premiere Elements 9 on a fast Sony VAIO laptop. Now I have an iMac (27', 2.93 GHz, i7, 12 Gb), FCPX and ...the same frustrations as 20+ years ago. My life is interesting again !
P.s.2. Yesterday, I had the 10.9.1 update installed to my OSX. No change.
    Regards-
    Kris

    Russ,
I do have a few expanded frozen frames (I read about them as a potential problem) and more than just minimal edition of audio, including several "narration/voice overs" done outdoors with a camcorder and then imported. All material has been colour balanced and several clips have been stabilised. The rest was just cut and paste.
I hope it might help. Many thanks -
    Kris
P.s. The yellow triangle shows on the YouTube share window only. Not on the DVD one.

  • Share presets for youtube share option

Hi all, I´ve done a search over the net and haven´t found anything.
Does anyone know which presets applys share when you choose youtube option?
I´m working with some footage recorded with a contour 1080 hd cam which is 1280x720 60fps native, done a video file with this preset and uploaded to vimeo but I really don´t like very much the result, doesn´t seem to behave well fast screen changes and movement on old computers (even with hd off enabled on vimeo)

What did you set as the Premiere Elements 11 project preset? See what it says under Edit Menu/Project Settings/General and there for Editing Mode, Timebase, and Frame Size. I suspect it is 1080i.
I am almost certain that you are operating from a 1920 x 1080 16:9 @ 29.97 interlaced frames per second project, but without confirmation on that not 100% sure.
Assuming that you are at those settings and you are not seeing any black borders in the Edit Mode Monitor,  then
    Publish+Share
    Online
    YouTube
with the Presets = High Definition Video for YouTube 1920 x 1080.
    Think about
Also, when after I choose the Preset, I get the Google form in which to insert my Username and Password. This is not the same as the Username and Password I have to sign in to YouTube. I thought a YouTube form would pop up.
Since this is an upload to YouTube, I would think you would use your YouTube ID and Password. The way that I have set this up for myself is to have YouTube, Google, and GMail all linked. That takes care of everything. So, see what happens with just your YouTube ID and Password and then we can decide what next on that. (I am assuming that you have separate ID and Password for Google and YouTube).
    As for
since my video is in Spanish with all the metadata I will insert in Spanish too (title, description, tags), will YouTube accept that? I registered with YouTube in English. Will I have to reregister in Spanish?
Not sure about that. I doubt it, but not sure. From what I have read, say your video is in English, in the upload process you can add tags for other languages such as Spanish, French, etc. I will give that a try and see what that looks like.

  • Uploading YouTube videos/urls into Cisco Show and Share

We've just purchased the DMM 5.2 and the Show and Share appliance to host internal company videos but there are some YouTube videos out there that we want to pull into our Show and Share system as well. How can we do this? I've tried every possible combination of youtube url and embedded url that is out there, at least nothing that I've tried has worked thus far. I'm able to pull in other internal URLs of different videos (wmv format) without any trouble. Is this an issue with YouTube or perhaps with flv formatted video that YouTube uses (which should work according to the manual).
I know this is a new product, but is there anyone that can help?
    Thank you in advance,
    Chris

    Chris,
The YouTube videos are typically Flash content.
The key here is that you need to download the Flash content
yourself and then Upload to the Show and Share.
Use the DIRECT URL of the Flash Content on YouTube to download
the FLV to you Personal device.  After file successfully download, simply
upload the file to Show and Share.
    For example:
Cisco Show and Share Flash Demo

    * this link is the actual Dashboard URL not the video link

    * Actual URL of Video Content
    ========================================================
FOR THOSE THAT ARE USING OSX & SAFARI:
    ======================================
If you need to download FLASH Content for TESTING in your DMS Solution, You
can download Flash Videos from YouTube.
Note: The Video Quality is NOT HD or even SD...  it is ID (Internet Definition)
Also, the downloaded file will be a .flv Flash File.
    1. Open a Video on YouTube, Google Video etc.
    2. Press "Alt+Cmd(Apple-Key)+A" - A window opens named "Activity".
    3. Select the ".flv" file (looking on filesize helps) and press "Cmd(Apple-Key)+C" to copy.
Paste with "Cmd(Apple-Key)+V" the URL to your Adress Bar and press Enter.
    4. If you need a different video format such as MPEG, WMV, or SWF; you will need to convert
the downloaded ".flv" file with VisualHub or VLC
If this answers your question, Please take time to mark this

  • Re-use of .264 and .ac3 created by compressor or fcp-share

    Good Morning from Belgium
    Here is my question
How do I reburn a blu-ray without having to reencode in compressor or using "share" in fcp. In other words, how to re-use the .264 and .ac3 files created in a previous burning session ? I have tried Toast 9 but get 2 files (one with audio, one with video) .
Can I safely delete those huge files if it is not possible to use them later with any software ?
    Hope you can help
    Michel

I can put a movie in Compressor, add the video and audio presets and then select "Create BD/AVCHD Disc" in the Job Action menu but that will only create one disc.
My idea was to save the .264 and .ac3 files so that I could burn another disc at a later date.
I can do this with Toast but there is no way I can use those files in Compressor again (that I know about).
What exactly did you mean by burn it from a disk image?
I can do that in Toast but I don't know how to do it with Compressor.
