Share memory on MSI Z77MA-G45 an 3570k

Hi all,
I have a MSI Z77MA-G45 mobo and a i5-3570k CPU. I use the integrated graphics.
On the mobo's spec page says that the maximum share memory is 1760MB. I can only set 256MB in the BIOS. Is there something else that I need to change to get more memory available?
On the system I also have installed 2x4GB of Corsair Vengeance memory.

Intel uses DVMT for VGA memory.
You can set a fixed value (up to 256MB) and set the DVMT to maximum if you want.
That should make the system assign up to 1760 MB if needed.
It is dynamic so it only assigns the memory it actually needs.

  • MSI Z77MA-G45 LGA 1155 Intel Motherboard z77 please help me

So i just got my MSI Z77MA-G45 LGA 1155 Intel Motherboard z77  slotted it all together all seemed fine untill it wouldn't recognize my hard drive. I currently dont have a dvd drive at the moment so i put all the files of the win7 and msi drivers on the same 8gb stick. When i search for storage intel and see compatible drivers it sees one in RAID which i install but nothing else seems to happen. Ive been in bios and switched it from ahci raid and ide, that ahci etc one and Raid appear to be the same out come ie no harddrive visable. IDE doesnt even load it gets to starting windows logo then black screen and yes a i checked the harddrive is on the bottom sata1. Is my motherboard just defective or is there anything else to try. Sorry i have no other computer to use other than my laptop hopefully get a dvd drive soon (in the post) and hopefully a ssd to see if its the harddrive but i dont think that will make much difference. Cheers for any advise

So now everything seems to be working fine, but when you are in windows, if you leave the computer at idle it crashes?
For now, go into uefi bios and hit f6 for optimized defaults.
    Hit f10 save and exit.
Once you have entered the os, open cpuz and post screen shots of the spd tabs of each memory stick installed and the memory tab. (You can open multiple instances of cpuz and take 1 screen shot.)

  • MSI Z77MA-G45 limited Bios settings

    Hi everyone,
I recently got a new motherboard for my 3770K, an MSI Z77MA-G45 and updated the Bios to Version 1.9.
I am a bit frustrated with this board because it doesn't provide some essential settings for overclocking:
    - Cannot set the Turbo multipliers, it only allows to change the base frequency ones
    - It won't let me specify custom Vcore voltages. It only allows me to select between a few offset values (+0.02, +0.04, +0.06)
Are the above limitations normal for the CPU+Board+BiosVersion combination?
I have seen on the web others with exactly the same board or the Z77A-G45, that provide lots of extra settings.
Is there an option in the Bios that would unlock extra settings ?
FYI, "Adjust CPU ratio in OS" is disabled.
    Thank you!

As mentioned, use the keyboard arrow keys to highlight the setting, then use the keyboard's 'numbers pad' + or - keys to change the value.

  • Works: MSI Z77MA-G45 Motherboard

Just dropping a note to say that the MSI Z77MA-G45 motherboard with UEFI works perfectly under Arch. Initial installation was a little bit painful because I was installing from a USB drive that was not booted in UEFI mode. By following this guide and the installation guide, I managed to install refind, which got me into Arch, then I just repeated the GRUB2 installation steps to complete my install.
Systemd is a little weird and will definitely take some time to get used to, but I really like the new 100% manual installation method, along with the improved Arch bootstrapping and chroot'ing scripts. Very happy to see that this is still the same (but better!) distro that I used 6 years ago.

Using it along an AMD card is quite useless and therefor results maybe wrong. Try the 210 alone in the other slot. Also please list system specs: >>Posting Guide<<

    Does not display graphics.
I stick a HIS Radeon HD 5450 in the MB and its fine.  I stick the N210-512D2 in a old dell and it's fine.
Whats making the N210-512D2 Card incompatable with z77ma-g45 motherboard?

  • MSI Z77ma-g45 no powerup

my z77ma-g45 was working fine till i reseated the  heatsink now it does not seem to want to power up. I have done a full teardown and rebuild, swapped ram(8G|CRUCIAL BLS8G3D1609ES2LX0) , checked the cpu (I5 3570) in another mobo (another z77ma-g45). swapped psu. removed all addin cards and cables. no beeps no lights.... no signs of damage or burns  marks on the mobo, no bent pins (when swapped heat sinks nothing else was removed). any ideas?
    edit~~~~~~~
so after working on this for two days i post here, and while waiting i decide to try one more thing, i move the cpu fan to sysfan1, and the disconnected sysfan1 to the cpu header, boom powers up.... turn it back off swap them, works again....
I choose to believe the people in this forum are wizards, and from afar fixed what ever was stopping the power on... thank you

  • How to increase maximum buffer memory on MSI Z87-G45 Gaming,s1150?

    good day,
is there a way to increase the maximum buffer memory for PCI-E X16 ports? e.g. a bios setting that allows this?
    here are my specs:
    -   2 x XFX HD7950 Double Dissipation (FX-795A-TDFC)
    -   MSI Z87-G45 Gaming,s1150
    -   Intel Core i3-4130,s1150
    -   1 x TNAV6R00 Corsair RM1000 (Gold standard)
    -   ICIDU Value DDR3 1333 (2x4GB)
    -   Windows 7 Home Premium 64Bit

perhaps I can be a bit more specific regarding my problem
I am using above described rig for mining purposes. One of the related performance variables is 'thread concurrency' (CGMINER). it is currently set to value 8192, corresponding to about 512mb of buffer memory for the PCI-E ports. I can not increase it, as i get the error that the system is out of buffer memory. Thing is, the system should have a lot more. The PCI-E cards hav 3GB each and my system ram is 2x4GB.
one relate variable I am already using is the following command line
    setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
this usually solves above problem, but not in this case...
    anybody got any ideas?

  • MSI Z77MA-G45 Undervolting

Hello there! I just OC'd my 3570k to 4.00ghz with core voltage set to AUTO. I also using Xigmatek Gaia SD1283. Is there a option to undervolt the cpu? When i change the core voltage its only gives my the options between AUTO, +0.0000v, +0.0020v etc. I want to undervolt so my cpu temp get lower. I am about 38-46o calcius. Thanks in advance.

Is the Vdroop option available on the G45?
    (I don't think it is)
If it is however, just lower the vdroop % and the cpuv under load will be lower.

  • Graphics driver details for MSI Z77MA-G45 and other motherboards

This is request for MSI to put more details of the on-board graphics capabilities.
My goal is to have four monitors by adding an additional PCIe graphics card.
Recent versions of Windows can only support multiple graphics cards if the drivers are essentially the same.
I would like to see enough information on the spec sheets for the integrated graphics so that I can decide what models of graphics cards I can buy so that Windows will work with my new card as well as the on-board graphics.
The spec sheet says Radeon but I think that there are many options in the Radeon family.
    Thanks

  • Z77MA-G45 3570k OC

I have z77ma-g45 and 3570k to go with it.
I use Hwinfo and CPU-Z for voltage and temp info.
My maximum overclock is 4.3 Ghz with these BIOS settings:
The problem is, although I can even boot into windows 8 with +0.000 CPU Core voltage but after running Prime95 Blend with 6144MB memory usage for 3-4 hours I get Worker 2 stopped "hardware failure roundup 0.5, had to be 0.4" etc error and my Core 1 naturally stops the stress testing while others just continue.
I tried it with +0.0200 and I still got same error on same core and worker 2 stopped.
I tried it with +0.0000 and +0.02000 settings after putting RAM back to stock  full auto and no XMP but still this error surfaced after 3+ hours all the time.
Now I am trying with PLL Overvoltage enabled and +0.0200 and with my Memory overclocked as neither memtest nor windows memory diagnosis tool found errors in my RAM sticks with OC. Have been running for 2 hours with no errors yet.
BUT my max voltage is like 1.288 now @ 4.3 Ghz Prime95 blend test. After 2 hours my max core temp is 77 but the room temp is a bit warm like 25-26 degrees Celcius.
Here is the hwinfo screenshot I just took now
There is no Vdroop, voltage offset or LLC settings on this motherboard as far as I can see. I am on 1.9 version.
When I try 4.4 I can boot into windows but regardless of Turbo OC, Base OC and all voltage settings Prime95 bsods in maximum 1 minute, on most settings it BSODs like in first 5 seconds.
Question is, do I have the worst 3570k ever as I have seen 3570nonK chips reaching 4.1 and 4.3 is pretty miserable for the K version OR is this motherboard crippling the headroom OR am I doing something wrong?
Note: Putting bios back to stock my CPU passed Intel CPU diagnosis tool without any errors, so CPU is healthy I think.
CPU-Z validation while Prime95 has been running in the background for 2+ hours, so voltage is real voltage
    http://valid.canardpc.com/txdy4v
It happened, prime gave error with Worker 2, as can be seen in screenshot, it shows starting time too.

Here is some info on XTU
    http://hwbot.org/news/9556_intel%C2%AE_extreme_tuning_utility_intel%C2%AE_xtu_information
Best I get which is within my liking of temp range is 4.2 stable.
After achieving it and testing it as in the image below, I ran IBT 30 more times and Prime95 for few more hours. It was all clear and got no WHEA errors.
After playing BF4 for 50 minutes just now, the max CPU temp was 58C, which I think is fine on air.
I have C1E, EIST, Turbo, C-states, Spread Spectrum, HPET all disabled and memory is on stock voltage and clocks.
Internal PLL is disabled, CPU core voltage setting is at +0.000 V.
Yet the non-vdroop idle voltage is around 1.288 and drops to 1.246-1.258 with vdroop while using IBT or Prime95.
Is the voltage high because of the chip being crappy or because I cannot use any more effective settings like offset and other stuff?

  • Z77MA-G45 Bios Failure

I tried to update my bios to 7759v16 using the MSIHQ Tool 1.19R9 and failed with a message about the bios being in write only mode. I was able to enter the old bios and tried to enable write mode but could not find such a setting - I was stymied by the many options in  the EFI format and may have missed it. Then I realized that I might need a newer version of the MSIHQ Tool and subsequently found and setup version 1.24h on a usb flash drive.
But now my problem is that I cannot get into the bios or boot the flash drive at all. What I have done many times is - disconnect the power, remove the battery, short the JBAT1 jumper and wait several minutes. After  this procedure is reversed the board then boots to a simple screen (see attachment) that lists the Motherboard bios version , amount and type of memory, processor type and detected drives. It is interesting that the mouse or MSIHQ usb flash drive is not listed even though the led on the drive is lit.
This screen says that the bios has been set to its default values. Hitting either F1 or F2 as instructed  will trigger a reset and send the power supply and motherboard into a continuous "power-up for a moment-then shut off cycle" with nothing displayed on the monitor. This cycling will continue indefinitely.
I'm not sure what else to do.  Any ideas?

    MSI Z77a-G45 graphics driver issue.
Trying to install the graphics drivers for this board from the MSI site, I but every time I do so on loading windows 7 my monitor just goes to sleep and I have to roll back the driver in safe mode. This is the same for the driver found in the windows 7 updates.
Iv downloaded the files a few times over and reinstalled windows twice and the problem remains. Can anyone suggest anything? Is there something I’m missing or need to set in the UEFI bios for using the onboard graphics?
    MSI Z77A-G45, i5-3570K, 2x 8GB Corsair memory, Windows 7 64bit.
    Thanks.

    My BIOS is E7752IMS V2.10
    Iv already downloaded  V2.A
However  I have to say the guide at uk.msi.com/service/biosupdate/ , appears to be putting v2.2 on top of v2.2.
it also says "Download the BIOS that matches your motherboard and version number to your USB device."
I'm not entirely sure what is meant by 'version number' but it dose suggest i need to download V2.10 not V2.A ... call me picky but i want to be sure! lol.
Can anyone confirm ether way? It dose seam rather odd!
    Thanks.
    **edit
    Update on my graphics issue
With the default driver, just before the windows 7 log in screen appears. I was getting a portion of it appear first on the bottom 1/8 of the screen. Now its appears to be a snowstorm of bad graphics and its the same when I switched to using HDMI instead.
Not sure if that's a good sign!
For reff my screen is a HP LP2475w tho I'm rather sure there is nawt wrong with the screen.

  • Z77MA-G45 and Radeon 7850 Incompatibility?

    Hi Folks,
I helped a friend pick out components, and build, his first PC.
    Intel i3 3225
    16gb G.Skill Ripjawz CL9 DDR3 1600
    XFX Radeon 7850
    MSI Z77MA-G45
    Thermaltake TR2 500W
I have tried updating to the latest MSI official BIOS for the motherboard (1.9). I have installed a Radeon 4870 I had lying around (it draws 166W compared to the 105W of the 7850), the display works with the 4870 video card, onboard video also works. However the 7850 does not work. I have tried every bios setting related to video or PCI-Express; the PCI-Express 3.0 option to both Auto and Disabled. I have set the options for IGD and PEG, and tried both. Voltages coming from the power supply are within spec. No pins are bent, the CPU is installed correctly, and the HS is seated properly. Temps are in the 40Cs for the CPU and in the 30Cs for the Motherboard.
All signs at this point, suggest the video card being at fault, however, upon returning to the store it was purchased, the tech tested the card in their test bench, and proclaimed it worked fine. The question I have is: Is there some kind of incompatibility at work here? I know there is an "added more VGA compatibility" to the release notes on the BIOS updates, is it simply that I need to wait for a new BIOS revision for the motherboard to get this card to work?
Thanks in advance for any potential solutions anyone can throw my way.

well as there are 2 parts that have to work together it could be either! unless the video card can be updated as it may just be that it can't be excluded!
as the board works with another graphics card and that the graphics card works in a test bench then it will more then likely be the VBIOS being Incomparable on the HD7850 (thats quite common)! do you have someone you know that may be willing to let you try it in there machine thats possible something like a 1155socket or even a AMD socketed board (AM3, AM3+, FM1 or FM2) thats got PCI-E gen 2 compatible slots on it?
