Share photos over iphone problem - possible improvement to iOS.

Hi,
I haver an ipad mini and usually Share photos to a friend iphone. I found out that the sync of shared photos over icloud uses 3G/data plans and it is not possible to disable this (or is it? How?).
This is a problem because when several friend shares photos the mobile data plan is heavily affected and it be a good idea to have this sync online by wifi, even of the iphone user acepts the Share on 3G. This would be a good option that the user could activate or not.

How do I share photos from iPhone to Mac over wifi?

I have a 2014 MacBook Air newly upgraded to Yosemite, and a 5S also from earlier this year. I would like to send files (photos) from my own phone so they are files -- rather than sending them to iPhoto. I have been trying to figure out how to do this via Airdrop or Photo Stream with no success.

..... Phone and computer are on same WiFi and right next to each other

Any help is appreciated! I had "No Wireless Updates" on my MacBook and I think all those legacy settings are tripping me up... maybe?

Download theiCloud Control Panel.
To enable iCloud on your Windows PC, first set up iCloud on your other devices, then install the iCloud Control Panel for Windows (Windows Vista with Service Pack 2 or Windows 7 required).Download now (you have to follow that link I cannot post the file here).
Turn on iCloud.
From the Windows Start menu, choose iCloud Control Panel.
Enter the Apple ID you used to create your iCloud account and select the iCloud services you’d like to enable.
For mail, contacts, and calendars, you can use iCloud.com or Outlook 2007 or later.
On your iPhone go to settings-iCloud and ensure you're signed in and that "photo stream" is enabled.

Wont Share Photos with Iphone or online service

that I havent installed PPE8. Which is wrong. I have installed, registered etc.

Share Aperture photos over network

Hallo every body,
iam searching for a solution, how to share photo over network for a long time, in our company we have 40 macs(imac, mac bookpro) and 3 xserve, vtrak and 30pc. and we have round about 30000 pic they are saved in iphoto library on one of the xserve.
My Boss wants from me to find a solution to share these photos over network. the mac users must use iphoto to access these photos.
which program shall i install on the server so that the client users can access the photos from there macs through iphoto.
at the beginning i used the share library option in iphoto, until iphoto 9.1.1. By iphoto 9.1.1 on the client when i click on the shared library my searching field disappears and i cant search in the shared photos.
I thought Aperture is the solution, so i shared the aperture library over the network (with afp protocoll) but in order to access the network aperture library, first i need to install aperture on the client and then i open iphoto and from iphoto option i can choose the option access aperture library.
how can i solve it without to install aperture on the client, is there any iphoto plugin so that i can access aperture library without installing aperture
or is there somebody uses another solution???

Neither iPhoto nor Aperture is the solution for this.
The idea of using iphoto on the client machines is wrong, it's just not designed for that use. Iphoto is designed for a family with a point and shoot camera, or even a phone. Aperture is a pro level photomanager. Installing Aperture on all the mchines means you will have to purchase the app for all the machine, you need a site licence.
Also, it won't work anyway. You can't share an Aperture Library like an iPhoto one an only one user can access the Library at a time. So, one of the users acesses the Library and all the others are locked out.
Neither are what you need: you need a media server application. A pro level media server. Tell your boss he's fooling himself if he thinks anything else will work reliably.

Best Approach to Share Photos in Client Server Environment

Ive been doing research on the best way to share scanned documents inside a client server application (PB11) but am not sure what's the quickest way to do it.
My brainstorm came up with:
1. Use MS SharePoint to share photos.
    Pros: Relatively quick to install
    Cons: Potentially difficult to maintain. No integration with PB application.
2. Use web server to share photos
    Pros: PB integration possible
    Cons: Difficult to maintain
3. Use Oracle database to store photos
    Pros: PB integration possible and easy to maintain
    Cons: Hardware resource demanding.
The idea is to be able to share scanned documents to different users which can be then associated with different business information such as journal entries, assets, customer application, and many others.
Of the three above which one would offer the quickest solution?

I have a Fujitsu software that can scan and store images to folders (may contain photos of assets, sorry for the mixup tween photo and image), sharepoint, but not to a web server - although now I suspect I can configure the webserver to just automap the file folders to the webserver's URL (I guess I had amnesia). However there's another feature which I haven't found out yet and that is whether the scanning software can store the metadata directly to the database. Most likely it doesn't thus the reason why sharePoint looks attractive. The other concerns you mentioned I believe I can handle at a later time.

What's the best way to share photos?

Now that MobileMe Gallery is gone, what's the best way to share photos over the internet?
Is there some simple method where I can upload an entire album from iPhoto and then send a link to others so they can view them?
I've tried both Flickr and Shutterfly and did not like either.

I don't know. Part of the issue has to be that iPhoto is not a HD browser. Another part is what you mean by " ... just pull the images".

No need. Web galleries are built into Aperture 3. Put the images you want to be in the gallery in one Album (Smart or otherwise). Select all the images. Click "New→Web Page". Select a theme. Change some of the text. Make some other changes. Click "Export Web Pages ... ". Make some more decisions. Give the folder a name. Save it somewhere with access to those whom you wish to see it. Select "Tell me when done". Check your email (have a coffee). Click "Show in Finder". Open the folder. Double-click the file "index.html". Brilliant! Enjoy.
The trick to sharing this is to make the folder available. The index file will always open the web site pages in a web browser.

Share videos along with photos over Bonjour?

I'm sharing my photos over Bonjour, and it all seems to work fine.
Only I noticed that the item count differs. It appears that iPhoto isn't sharing any of the short video clips taken with my camera that are in my library.
Is it possible to have iPhoto share these clips?

If he's on the same lan as you then yes but the performance is not great. I have my library on an external drive connected to my iMac. With sharing turned on both computers I can access the library from my Macbook Pro which also has Aperture on it but it is very slow because I'm using a wireless connection. However if I open iPhoto on the MBP the import feature is a little better if I import from the RAW file from the external HD.

Problem while syncing photo to iPhone and iPad. ITunes 10.3.1 mac

It never happened before but just happened today with iTune 10.3.1 mac. I am using it on 10.6.8.
Between last time and now, I did update some mac 10.6.8. and today some java for mac os. After syncing photo to iPad today, I noticed some photos are incomplete. Half of the photo is white. Some with complete photo but incomplete thumbnail. It happened to 30-40 photos out of 1200+. I deleted ipod photo cache and resync the photo but it happened mostly to the same photos that had problem with slight variations. I tried the same with my iPhone and had the same problem. I tried 3-4 times and the problems remained. So I can only suspect that something went wrong while iTune optimizes photos.
The only way to solve this for now is to remove the problematic photos and resync them one photo at a time. Anyone noticed similar problem please give me some advice.

I have the same issue and tried all of the following without success (hoping to save others the hassle):
Rebooted phone
Restored phone and imported backup
Restored phone with no backup and imported photos
Moved photo folder elsewhere on machine and tried to sync it
Tried variety of folders with different images from different devices
Restarted Mac
Repaired permissions on mac
Ran Disk Utility and repaired hard drive, found a few issues
Deleted iTunes Cache
Deleted iTunes related plists
Deleted iPod cache each time
Ran TouchCopy and deleted the photo plists forcing the phone to rebuild the database
Turned syncing of photos off and on again
Ran all weekly/monthly cron jobs
New iphone 4 at Apple Store still repro'd
And so on . . .
Other notes:
Synced to iPod Touch I have and the same photos synced just fine
Restored phone as new and synced on another computer the same folder of photos that I copied over to it and it worked, but it is my husbands computer that I don't keep my photos on/use for syncing normally
Imported the same folder to iPhoto without copying the photos and it works, but I don't want to use iPhoto so not an option for me. Or using a different computer also worked, but not an option.
I went to the genius bar as well after trying all of the above and they had no idea and had not seen this. It appears to be more of a computerissue than an iphone 4 issue though. I say this since putting the same files on another computer (my husbands) synced fine to the phone. They replaced my iphone 4 and the issue STILL repro'd with nothing else on the phone with my computer.
Config:
MacBook Pro purchased December 2010, 10.6.8, latest software updates installed, iPhone 4 latest updates installed

Have you found a solution to your problem? I, too, lost files during the upgrade to iOS 5.0. My files in Pages, Numbers and Keynote disappeared although the update said they'll be saved in iCloud. They simply vanished after the update.

Hello, I just upgrade my Iphone(4)and my Ipad (2) to IOS6. I shared Phot Stream with my Iphone and no problem but whrn i tried to do with Ipad, I discover than <Settings<Photo & Camera I have no the option: Share Photo Stream ON-OFF. So I can't no share Photo Stream with my Ipad. Anyone can help me?

Hi, I need to transfer photos from iphone to mac. My mac can 'see' my iphone with iphoto open, but the box says there are no photos to download. Could anyone help me please? This has never been a problem before (it was fine about 2 weeks ago). I've tried turning both devices off and have spent a couple of hours trying to search for this problem on the internet. I want to automatically share photos between my iPhone and iPad. I use iCloud and I setup Photo Stream but my photos are not moving from one device to the other. My goal is to have all my photos on both devices- automatically. How can I accomplish this?

Photos will Not go between iPad & iPhone..they have to go thro' iCloud as a provider or sync via your computer individually...you need Wireless on both or a direct USB connection..
On each iPad and iPhone you can initialize via the Summary/Photos when they are connected via iTunes..
