Share Point 2010 opening pdf in adobe reader prompting credentials
Hi,
In our share point 2010 internet site whenever we try to open pdf , its trying to open in adobe reader and prompting user to enter credentials and finally getting " url provided couldnot be reached..." error message. This is happening with only certain versions of adobe like Adobe X, Adobe 11.
Do you have any update on this one. It is possible to open the document in New WIndow or New tab by right clickign the document. ALso we have enabled browser handling for the web application "permissive".
ITs working fine in other versions of adobe reader like 9..
Thanks

Hi DevSP2010,
We have different sharepoint server setup locally. we are not getting error on these server. If possible can you please share the fiddler logs so that we can look into the issue.
In order to take fiddler log install fiddler from : http://fiddler2.com/get-fiddler
Once you have installed fiddler, it can capture all web calls. Do following to save the logs
1. Open Fiddler
2. Do the workflow which result in error(Say, from Acrobat access sharepoint site via "Open from Online Account")
3. Fiddler will record all this activity, Save the logs as follow : Select all the logs in fiddler(Ctrl + A) -> Right Click ->Save -> Selected Session -> in Archive ZIP
You can send this log to me on my ID : [email protected]
Thanks,
Kriti

Not able to open pdf and adobe reader on windows xp sp3.
Hello,
I am not able to open pdf and adobe reader on my windows xp sp3 computer. I have reinstalled adobe reader 11.0.3 twice, but, no luck. I would appreciate if you could help me in resolving this issue. Thanks in advance.
Regards,
VenkataYou can try using this tool to first remove all traces of Reader from your computer:
http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html
Then, you can download the full offline Reader installer from
http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/
After downloading, restart your computer and run the installer before doing anything else. -
Can not open pdfs w/adobe reader for android on archos 10i tablet?
I can not open pdfs w/adobe reader for android on archos 10i tablet? How to fix it?
Hi Dennis, thank you for the reply. I have Adobe Reader installed and open. When I click on the pdf documents an error message box opens and says "Error. The document cannot be opened beacause it is not a valid pdf document". Perhaps the pdf's on the USB memory stick are corrupted. I can't open them on the laptop either. I'll reload them and try again.

Unable to open pdf thro adobe reader in my IMac

If it is a regular .pdf file, try asking on the Adobe Reader forum.
If it is an Adobe DRM .pdf file, try opening using a copy of Digital Editions authorized with the correct ID the book is licensed to. -
How to change outlook mail using Word to try and open PDF to Adobe Reader XI?
how to change outlook mail using Word to try and open PDF to Adobe Reader XI?
I've never found technology to make life easier. It mainly offers the promise (often unfulfilled) of making it cheaper or quicker. This didn't happen when the Girl Guides put a form in an envelope and posted it. But they probably laid off the person whose job that was with the promise of everything being easy on the internet.
PDF has, curiously, become a victim of its own success. A few years ago, you could say to people "You need Adobe Reader" and it was the only serious game in town. So they got it and it works. Now everyone is making their own PDF reader for whatever reason, fewer and fewer people can be sure of having Reader. (PDF readers come at least with every Mac, every Windows 8 system, Chrome and FireFox, which covers a LOT of ground).
This is coupled with a bizarre decision Adobe made a few years ago to have two kinds of form, one of which all the other software fails with (and, as I noted, even Adobe's own software on iPad and Android fails). This was a neat idea which was designed for big corporations. Then the really big mistake: giving everyone with Acrobat the tools to make these new kinds of form, and making it seem they were preferre or the only game in town. This is finished now (Acrobat 11 doesn't include this big boy's software) but the damage is done, oh how it is done.
Even regular forms tend to only work properly in real Adobe Reader. The fact is, if you make or distribute PDF forms you need to tell people to use Adobe Reader, and to know exactly how to help them do that. If people can't do that or their users won't be motivated to bother, then PDF forms are no longer a suitable choice. Sad but true. -
Problems opening PDF in Adobe Reader
When I try to open a PDF using Adobe Reader the Adobe Reader page opens but not my PDF. The computer freezes for a few seconds and then the Sdobe Reader page shuts down. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling with no sucess. If it makes any difference I am using Firefox but I tried Explorer as well with the same result. Please help if you are able.
Hi,
Welcome to Adobe forums.
Are you trying to open the PDF in web browser, or you are trying to open a PDF locally in Adobe Reader application ?
- please save a PDF file locally and then open Adobe Reader to view the PDF file.
Please share the result with me, so that I can help you accordingly.
If you are able to open the PDF file locally, please see the document (to open the PDF file in Web Browsers) : http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/using/display-pdf-browser-acrobat-xi.html

Cannot open PDF on Adobe Reader for iPhone
When I click on the file to open in the App it says, "The document has features that are not supported in this version of Adobe Reader". I have ensured that I have downloaded the latest version of Adobe Reader onto my phone. The PDF, "material is copyrighted and does have digital rights content protections on printing, copying and saving", there is no opportunity for me to enter a password or other verification. I can open this file on my computer, and I can also open other PDF's on my iPhone using the Adobe Reader App. Any help would be appreciated as I am trying to access study material for a rigorous upcoming exam, all materials were purchased legally.
Adobe Reader mobile products (Adobe Reader for iOS, Adobe Reader for Android, etc.) do not support DRM (Digital Rights Management) protected PDF documents even in the latest version.
Please use the desktop version of Adobe Reader XI for a Windows or Mac computer to open the PDF document instead. Sorry for the inconvenience. -

Can't open pdf with Adobe reader 11.0
2009 24" iMac G5 OSX 10.8.2
After downloading pdfs, even Apple's iPhone manual and saving it to my hard drive, I cannot reopen it. The Adobe Reader error message says that the file is damaged and cannot be opened. I tried reinstalling 11.0 but to to no avail. The adobe site offered this link to their forum:
http://forums.adobe.com/message/1781038
Anybody with a similar problem. I'd greatly appreciate any ideas on how to resolve this.
Thx,
Terriershep. It sounds like that you downloaded the PDF in Safari and tried to open it later. The fix is to delete the Adobe plugins from your Library's Internet-Plugins folder or to use another browser, not Safari, to download your PDFs.

My free Acrobat trial expired and now I can't open PDFs with Adobe Reader
I recently downloaded a free trial of Adobe Acrobat Pro before purchasing the software. I already have Adobe reader installed on my computer (Dell PC -- Windows 7). I attempted to purchase Adobe Acrobat as the parent of a student and I was told I had to wait for verification, which could take 1-2 days. In the mean time, EVERY time I try to open a PDF, it asks me to buy the software and reminds me my trial has expired. How can I revert back to using the free Adobe Reader I have always used? If I had known it would be this much trouble, I never would have tried the free trial! Can anyone help me out?
Thank you!!

Open pdf in adobe reader touch
How can i open tao documents at lhe same time in adobe reader touch?
Actually, Adobe Reader Touch opens one PDF document at a time.
When you tap/click the Back button in the top toolbar, Adobe Reader Touch will close the currently viewed document and take you back to the Home Screen. If you have any changes that you haven't saved, Adobe Reader Touch will prompt you to save the document before closing it.
You can use Ctrl+O to open a new PDF document and Ctrl+W to close the currently viewed PDF document.
