Is there any way i can use my roll overs in many pages (as a master page) in order to save time?

Use server side includes (SSI's). Google the subject for your server script.

Scroll bar on embedded blog on events page & rolls over header

I've just entered the embedded html code for the events page in the tutorial (part 4) & now have a vertical & horizantal scroll bar showing + the blog rolls over the header rather than under it. How can I fix this? I've just downloaded the latest update for Muse & think the recent changes in master positioning may have changed?

I found a fix, although I'm not sure it is the best way. In Muse CC it looks like layers have replaced the ability to arrange certain items on top of other items (the move to feature). When I added the HTML code, it comes in as it's own layer, but still seems to be within the default layer for that page. So what I did was create a new layer in the layers panel, then I dragged the HTML code layer to be inside of that layer instead. Then I made sure that my new layer was under the layer holding the header and everything else. Seems to do the trick.

Do you use iGoogle? This problem is often caused by the "My Scores" gadget on iGoogle.
Open the iGoogle page but press the escape key to stop the page loading. If you have the "My Scores" gadget delete it.

Does Pages roll over to being an App Store upgrade?

I have Pages on my Mac Pro from 2009.
Does this become an App Store supported program?
I see that there is an update out yesterday for "Pages 1.7" described as for both Mac and IOS, but my App Store doesn't detect it on my computer.

When I upgraded to Mountain Lion and used Software Update check it did "roll over" to the AppStore and downloaded the Pages 4.2 update. I haven't updated to 4.3 as I don't have any need for it so far.
@ Peter Inova1 Make sure yo ahve you iWork applications in its folder in the Application folder so the update program can find them.

The only limitation is the space on the server to hold the pages. 20 pages won't take much room.

1° How can i change the color of the text on a button in Roll Over or Click state (Cs5.5)
- I've many button in a doc im creating
- the color of the buttons is white with black stoke & black text
- in roll over state i want them to inverse the color coding (the text white & bottom black)
- currently the text becomes invisible as black on black cant be seen (ive stroked it white but that looks ugly)
- i would just like to know if there is a function made for this?
My other questions:
2° Ive a presentation on which Ive created buttons which tigger pop-up animations
- i have 5 buttons which trigger animations
- the viewer can chose to Click on any of the buttons randomly
- the problem is once the animation is open how can it be close... either:
a) by it self after "40" seconds
b) when ther viewer clicks another button
3° Ive created buttons linking pages..
- "go to page xxx"
- when i do a preview and click on the buttons the links dont take me to the right pages
- is that normal? (maybe in preview its suppose to be like that)
4° I would like to intergrate YouTube videos in the presentation so they play inside the docment.. when i tried.. it said the 'link isnt a flash video'
- what should i do?
5° Once i export it into Swf. how how can i visualize it? or put it online?

You should setup Object Styles - these can also include Paragarph Styles that can be triggered when the Style is selected.

InDesign won't link directly to youtube videos. I think your best bet would be to use Downloader to download the video and embed them directly in Indesign.
5° Once i export it into Swf. how how can i visualize it? or put it online?

You can look up how to embed a SWF file into your HTML - but it depends what you mean by "online" there's a dozen ways to get a file "online".

Creating an interactive CV: mouse over / roll over pop ups, embedded documents and videos

Hi everyone,
I am pretty new to Adobe Acrobat Pro and new to this forum (1st post here!). Greetings from Spain... and apologies for grammar mistakes and misleading explanations (in advance). I have been checking this forum and googling quite a bit, but I do not get to many conclusions (maybe I sleep few due to our baby!).
I want to create an interactive CV with the following characteristics:
1) CV in 1 page in a PDF document (no problem here!)
2) Hyperlinks in the text which open embedded files (pdf of others) hidden to the viewer but which are in the pdf document. Possible? (I want the recruiter to receive just one file). Even better if they could be open in another window (doubt it).
How could it be done? I try add documents and they are attached at the end, so the original pdf gets to have more pages, all viewable.
3) Furthermore, mouse over / roll over pop ups which show you a preview of the file you may open clicking the hyperlink, for a quick view of the content.
I think that this may be done, but using other programs, like InDesign. I just try to add a document, but it's sort of a link to a document in my computer. I may add pdf, pps files.
4) Even more, would it be possible to embed a video which would open in a new window? If not, I tried to add a link to youtube and there was a warning as "this program tries to open a window, if you trust the owner... " (similar safety message) and the very last thing I want the recruiter to have to decide whether to decide to watch it or not.
I know its a questions in its very first stages, but the big point is to know if/what it is possible to do, so that I search in the right direction.
If you have any idea or advice (even if not related to PDF pro, of course), just please let me know.

(3) Right, I could not find either a way using just Acrobat Pro (I'm using XI). Sad thing that you confirm it... But it looks like you may do it using other programs on the PDF, but I don't know to use them. You may take a look at this:

Few Questions About Migrating Site & Editing Many Pages at Once

OK. First things first. My manager doesn't want me listing
our company name in this post since we are currently trying to get
out of our hosting contract and she doesn't want to jeapordize
anything in case someone stumbled across the post by a search or
anything. FYI: I have Dreamweaver CS3.
So here's the deal. My company would like to move our site
away from this proprietary WYSIWYG online editor we have. The
current setup locks us into to this silly online editor for our
site and doesn't allow access to our files on their server. This
means that if I want to simply change the file name of a picture on
our site, I have to log in to their editor and go through about ten
stupid steps. The problem is, the site is dynamically generated.
Every page on the site looks something like this at the end:
default.aspx?pageid=9. Those links are permanently attached to
specific pages and the content on the individual pages rarely
changes. I tried using some offline downloaders to grab every page
of our site in case we move it elsewhere. When these pages are
downloaded, though, the file names change and it breaks all of the
links.
If I go into the code and change every individual link to
other pages and style sheets I can get it to look good.
So my first question is: is there a way to easily allow
Dreamweaver to import a couple hundred dynamically generated pages
and make them into static pages so that they just look like
"xyz.com/products.html"? Fortunately, our site is not extremely
large (maybe 250+ pages) so in an absolute worst case scenario I
could post a lot of the pages by hand.
My second question regards changing specific items across many
pages. Our current site contains the ability to place little
widgets into pages. This means that if we want a navigation bar on
a hundred different pages, we just edit the one entry for the
widget and every page changes. I'm sure this is possible in DW, but
I spent an hour trying to search online yesterday trying to find
info and didn't answer my question. Is this what templates are for?
I saw people mentioning Find All, but this didn't seem like a
perfect solution. I apologize if this is a very stupid question. No
one needs to take the time to explain the exact process to me, but
if someone could just tell me the name of the functionality and if
they know a specific resource to learn more about it, that would be
wonderful.
Whatever this functionality is, would I have to start over from
scratch with the pages? Or could I implement it with the current
site that's already put together? I'd be happy to convert the
site to static HTML if there's an easy way to change multiple pages
at once other than Find All and Replace.

I think I could answer your questions with just one answer so
here it goes.
What you need to do when making this type of mass move from
an online editor to DW would be to first download a copy of
everything you have just so you have a backup in case any mistakes
are made.
Next with the downloading of the files. You will need to log
in via FTP in Dreamweaver or via your file manager on the control
panel of your website. If you are unsure of where this is or how to
log in via FTP, you may need to contact your host for the login
information. Even though the files appear to be dynamic I do
believe that most editors would just store the pages separately and
just uses includes to make that work. However, if this is not how
it appears, post back with the name of the editor that you were
using.
Next, take one of the files you have. Based on the
description you are giving me it sounds as if they all look the
same just with different content (nav bar aside). If this is the
case you can create a template file in Dreamweaver. Within that
template you should place the content that is the same for all of
your pages. Then make one editable region for your content to go
into. These links can be found from the main toolbar for creating
editable regions and other template functions (which I believe
includes the navbar).
Also one thing to note with templates is that they will
automatically fix links on the pages when you save the template to
include new files via links. So you don't have to worry about
updating all of the pages all of the time. The only thing you would
need to update the individual pages for would be for the content on
those pages.
Hopefully this will get you started in the right direction.
But as I said in the beginning if you have trouble getting the
files off of the site post a bit more information about what you
have and hopefully someone here will be able to point you in the
right direction.

Display popup window on roll over on the cell in ADG

When i roll over my mouse to try the new personas, nothing happens?

I updated firefox and on the start-up page, it recommended me to try some new personas. When i rolled my mouse over the personas, nothing happens. On my laptop however, when i roll over, the persona does change.

Unfortunately, many less-technical users won't understand your reference "whitelisting" (which doesn't actually appear in FF's settings). Some may even assume they should turn off "Warn me when sites try to install add-ons"—and that's not a good idea.
So to avoid confusion, here's how to actually do what you described:
1. On Firefox's Tools menu, click Options. The Options window appears.
2. At the top of the window, click Security. Be sure the checkbox is selected that says "Warn me when sites try to install add-ons", then click the Exceptions button next to it.
3. A dialog box appears that says "Allowed Sites - Add-ons Installation". In the text box that says "Address of web site:", type:
www.getpersonas.com
5. Click the Close button to close the dialog box, then click OK to close the Options window.
You should now be able to preview Personas by pointing to them.

Roll over balloons in eBay searches not poping up w/ Safari 2.0.4

Is there a setting or a technique to once again allow roll over balloons to pop up on eBay search listings? I'm referring to the "Enlarge" roll over link in the Gallery picture of search results. This is a "paid for" option that some sellers use.
I do not have "Block Pop-up Windows" checked off in the Security Preference window.
Firefox still allows this, but on both a Powerbook G4 and a iMac Dual Core using Safari Version 2.0.4 (419.3) this feature is no longer working for me. (It had worked in Safari until three days ago...could I have inadvertaently changed something?)
For an example of a roll over balloon try searching eBay for an item of interest, and then scan down the resulting list. Typically a few items in large search results will have the "Enlarge" roll over below the gallery picture of an item being sold.

Is there a way to prevent roll-over ads from opening? Some sites are almost impossible to navigate because of this new nuisance.

For instance, www.roughstock.com is a country music website where you can see lyrics and chords for popular songs that contributors have sent in. From the main page you click on the "Cowpie" tab to enter the page where you can search for songs. If you do this I am quite sure you will experience one of the roll-over advertisements I am talking about. They are small ads which, if you touch any portion of their area, will TAKE OVER the screen and play until the advertisement is finished or until you are able to find a usually obscure 'close' button.
I've got 'pop-ups' disabled, but this new kind of ad is already resident on the page you wish to view so it is beating the system.
Also, I'm not spamming for that site, it's just the most recent site where I've experienced this problem.

It's going to get worse with crap like that as more web sites adopt HTML5 and HTML5 compatible browsers are released. There's all sorts of new tags in HTML5 that will probably be misused for displays like that.

After updating to 5.1, pages no longer lets me convert long, single page (up to 8 1/2 x 50) document to an 8 1/2 x 11 document with many pages.

I have been using pages to create a document that I always export in two ways. 1st, I export a single page document that contains all of the data (sometimes this can go as long as 8 1/2 x 50). I have to do this for web purposes. Next, I duplicate the document, and change the page setup to 8 1/2 x 11, turning it into a document with many pages. This is for printing purposes.
Before upgrading to Pages 5.1, this worked flawlessly. After the upgrade, when I change the document to 8 1/2 x 11, Pages just deletes all of the data after the 11'' mark.
I am trying to make it behave like it did before the upgrade: when I convert the document to 8 1/2 x 11, it just made as many new pages as necessary and didn't delete any of the data.
How can I do this?

Pages 5 is buggy and has had over 100 fetaures removed.
Pages '09 should still be in your Applications/iWork folder, use that.

Hi,
I have a roll over text/png to link on my home page that I would like to fade in.
I saw something on the net and tried it and it didn't work.
Any thoughts? I realize these won't CSS work on all browsers. Should I go to Java?

I want to create a Roll Over on part of an image.

Good day.
I would like to create a HTML page like this: Cherry Hill Mall | Directory for a Mall.
My plan is to create a image and then trace the specific store like a hotspot and then link a roll over to it. But I'm not sure if its possible. Is there perhaps a better way of doing this.
