I have seen some reports about crashing during uploads to Flickr.  I am seeing this while uploading to Facebook via the built-in Share to FB.  I have allowed the reports to be sent to Apple.
In my case some photos will be successfully completed, while others not.  Usually I can retry one or two times and finish.  The crashing of Aperture has the side-effect that inconsistencies may develop in your Library and need to be Repaired.
The separate plug-in for uploading from Aperture to SmugMug is working just fine.
I have seen some suggestions that Airport may be at fault, but since this is happening from my Mac Pro directly cabled, and not WiFi this suggestion does not seem applicable to my situation.
Lot's of things are happening in this Share activity, not the least perhaps being the resizing on my giant originals to the size permitted by FB.
Not pleased to be struggling with this, but not at all sure where the issue may lie.  But if both Facebook users and Flickr users are having this problem, it would seem to be in Aperture or its module for such uploading.
Ernie

Posting the enormous log only down thru the thread that crashed, which references Facebook Publisher -- what I did not get to observe is the space utililzation at the time -- I suspect Free memory vs Inactive Memory stats:

  • What happened to the share to facebook, flickr in PSE 12 organizer?

I just installed PSE 12 (full version).  In the organizer, there is no longer a share for services like Facebook and Flickr.  What happened?  I saw that I can upload a single photo via PSE 12 Editor, but there is no longer an ability to bulk upload.  I only have four options on the "Share dropdown" - E-Mail attachments, Photo mail, Burn Video and PDF Slide Show.

That's very odd. Here's what I have in the organizer share pane:
Have you changed your country location? I would try going to the organizer prefs>Adobe Partner services and clicking Refresh.

    Hi Frank,
there are others discussions regarding this issue:
    In English:
    http://discussions.nokia.com/t5/Nseries-and-Symbian-Smartphones/share-to-facebook-on-808/td-p/189480...
    And in Italiano:

Is a common problem, we hope in a fix as soon as possible.

  • Echoing photo modifications to Facebook/Flickr albums

OK, so I've uploaded an album to Facebook & Flickr.
Then I decide I want to adjust the cropping or exposure of some of the photo's. I do this, and hit "check now" but it doesn't seem to consider my changes worthy of updating.
    Any way around this?

  • PSE 10 & "Share to Facebook"

    Hi there,
I've recently upgraded from PSE6.0 to PSE 10 and am having an issue with the Share to Facebook feature.
I'm getting the error "There was a problem with your Internet connection.  Please check that a firewall is not blocking Eleents Organizer from accessing the Internet and that you have an Internet Connection".  The strange thing is that the Share to Flickr service works perfectly.  I've also checked that I can access Facebook from this PC via a standard web connection all OK.
As suggested on another thread, I have also tried resetting the providers under edit - preferences.
Any help really appreciated as this is one of my primary reasons for upgrading to PSE10.
    Gavin

    Hi All,
Once I too had the same problem. It took me long to figure out the reason for it but ultimately i solved the mystery.
Some services like share to Facebook/share to Youtube may not work from PSE 10 if ANY PROXY IS SET ON YOUR MACHINE. In such case your PC allows you to connect to intenet and share your stuff with Facebook or youtube without any problem but PSE will not allow you to do the same.
To determine whether you have any proxy set or not - In Internet explorer follow the following steps.
    1. In 'Tools-> Internet Options' navigate to 'Connections' tab.
    2. click on 'LAN Settings'. under proxy server pane uncheck the tick box for Use a proxy server..'
In some cases you may not have a proxy server but some other program may be acting as filter. In my case I installed 'Windows Live essentially'. In this suite there is an application called 'Windows live family safety'. It consist of a feature called 'Family safety filter'. By default it was turn ON. Hence it was blocking the OLS (OnLine Services) services from PSE to connect to internet. When I TURN OFF this filter OLS worked for me.
A popular program called 'Fiddler' also act as proxy and it hinders the OLS services of PSE to connect to internet. If this program is ON while sharing then it wil give same error.
Hence i suggest that please check such programs which may have some kind of filter (e.g. Windows live essential or Fiddler) please turn that filter/Application off and then try PSE to share your stuff.
Please let me know if your problem persist.

  • Facebook & Flickr Export Problems

One of the new features of Aperture 3 I was excited about was the Facebook & Flickr integration. I had previously been using a free Flickr plug-in and exporting my Aperture images to iPhoto to make use of the Facebook integration.
After preparing a project with 26 adjusted/edited "keeper" images, I tried the Flickr upload button. It worked away and after a few minutes said that the process had completed. When I checked Flickr, only a portion (18 out of 26) of the images were displayed. I then clicked the "Publish" icon beside the album in Aperture, and instead of trying to re-add the missing photos to Flickr, it synced the album to Flickr and gave the Flickr images preference, thereby deleting the images that were not loaded on the initial upload. I have tried this several times and get various behaviours including a case where I got duplicate images in the Flickr set.
I tried the same thing with Facebook and had very similar problems. It does not load all of the selected images onto Facebook and a second sync then deletes the non-uploaded ones from Aperture. On another try, it loaded most (23 out of 26) of the images to Facebook, but instead of showing the images, just had empty "image not found" symbols.
Is anyone else having problems with Facebook and Flickr integration in Aperture 3?

    I'll second the "stacks" issue...
I had the same issue as the OP, but once I removed stacks from the event that I was uploading from, all of my images made it into Facebook.....
HOWEVER.....a new issue turned up....for whatever reason, now my people/face tags don't make it into Facebook, even though it worked before removing the stacks. To make matters worse, if I manually tag the images in Facebook and re-synchronize A3, the people/face tags are removed on the Facebook size....I can't f-ing win.
So it looks like I have to select from the lesser of two evils:
    1. If I want to preserve face-tagging, I have to be prepared for A3 to omit certain images
    2. If I want all of my images to be exported to Facebook, I have to live with no face/people tags
    ....fanfuckingtastic.

  • Contextual Share to Facebook Album - Limited Albums Listed

Using 10.8.2, I am attempting to share several photos to existing albums in Facebook. When I select the photos and pick the Share to Facebook via option-click, I only see a few of my Facebook albums. Why are only a few (not all) listed? How can I make all of them appear?

I dislike that Aperture creates its own album on Facebook, where it posts your "Wall" photos. Ordinarily wall photos on Facebook are not part of a particular album, and if you uploaded several in a short period of time, they would appear as separate posts, and not as an album update. But if you do it from Aperture, they are grouped together as an album update, which  can ruin the effect. I haven't found a workaround except to export to your desktop (or other folder) and manually upload to the FB wall.

  • Creating space in Aperture Library & Deleting unwanted Facebook/Flickr...

After updating Aperture via the most recent update, Aperture synced ALL my photo libraries from Facebook and Flickr... I didn't want this. Now I keep getting the message "insufficient space in Aperture library" I want to delete the Facebook & Flickr albums that have been added to my Aperture WITHOUT deleting them online. Am I able to do so just by deleting the albums that were synced to my library OR will deleting them from my Aperture will cause them to also be deleted online?
I have deselected the "sync" option from preferences, but whenever I select an album, Aperture proceeds to go into "sync" mode.
HELP please, I have pictures I need to import, edit and get out...
    Thank you

I called Apple and first I was told that if I delete a Facebook or Flickr album from my library that the album would remain on Facebook or Flickr so I proceeded to delete them. As soon as I did a message came up that said something to the effect of "Deleting this album will delete the album on Facebook" I went into my Aperture, file, web accounts and disabled all of them to be sure...
Regarding the other question... I just needed more space on my internal hard drive.

  • Am unable to share photos to Flickr using the Share function in Elements 12?

I can't share photos on Flickr using the share fundtion in Elements

Check your Outlook version, if it is sandboxed and compliant with the new Mac OS X security features.  See this thread, i.e. the post by Rishi Garrod:
Re: since update I can not send pitures via outlook or apple mail please help
This seems to be a problem with the sandboxing in Mt. Lion. I do not know of any work-around so far, sorry, until a compatible Outlook version will be available.

  • Share photos on Flickr

Wasn't there a selection in iPhoto 08' under the "Share" pulldown for Flickr? Is it gone or did I imagine it? Need setup someone without a .mac account.
    Thanks,
    Andrew

No, there's no built-in, out-of-the-box exporting to Flickr, but you can use a 3rd party plug-in like FlickrExport.

  • Choose a picture to share with Facebook widget

It is possible to choose a personal picture to share with Facebook when i use the dedicated widget on my published site ?
I've only 3 or 4 pictures that i can choose and they are wrong... Somebody can help me to find a solution ? Thanks

    Hi,
Facebook has a set of open-graph meta tags that it looks at to decide which image to show.
    <meta property="og:image" content="http://ia.media-imdb.com/rock.jpg"/>
    <meta property="og:image:secure_url" content="https://secure.example.com/ogp.jpg" />
and should be present inside the <head></head> tag of your page.
If these tags are missing, it will use their older method of specifying an image: <link rel="image_src" href="/image.jpg"/>. If neither are present, Facebook will look at the content of your page and choose images from your page that meet its share image criteria: Image must be at least 50px by 50px, have a maximum aspect ratio of 3:1, and in PNG, JPEG or GIF format.
Please let me know if you have any other query.

I wante to tag my files with "Share on facebook". I followed facebooks instruction and used the web widgets function in iweb. But when my content is "shared" on facebook, it only links back to the name of the iweb widget - not the content.

    <script>function fbs_click() {u=location.href;t=document.title;window.open('http://www.facebook.com/sharer.php?u='encodeURIComponent(u)+'&t='encodeURIComponent(t),'sharer','toolbar=0,status=0,width=626,height=436');return false;}</script>
You need to modify the <script> part, copy + paste the following, it's the modified code:
    <script>function fbs_click() {u=parent.location.href;t=parent.document.title;window.open('http://www.faceboo k.com/sharer.php?u='encodeURIComponent(u)+'&t='encodeURIComponent(t),'sharer','toolbar=0,status=0,width=626,height=436');return false;}</script><style> html .fbsharelink { padding:2px 0 0 20px; height:16px; background:url(http://static.ak.facebook.com/images/share/facebookshareicon.gif?48:26981) no-repeat top left; }</style><a href="http://www.facebook.com/share.php?u=<http://web.mac.com/morten.durr1/MortenDurr_/Bøger/Entries/2007/6/18_Albraxa_2053:_Klanernes_byfiles/albraxakapitel1.jpg>" onclick="return fbs_click()" target="_blank" class="fbsharelink">Share on Facebook</a>

Hi everyone, I just installed PSE9, only to find that the Shares to Facebook features is missing as you can see from the screenshots.
