"Share to Flickr" stopped transferring tags and descriptions from PSE10.
The "Share to Flickr" function suddenly stopped transferring tags and descriptions when uploading photos from PSE10. The only event that preceded this error was a prompt to "authorize" my Flickr account (when this prompt happens on occasion, I simply re-authorize my Flickr account and everything usually returns to normal).
Here is what I've tried so far, with various ordering of steps:
Preferences-Adobe Partner Services-Reset Accounts
Preferences-Adobe Partner Services-Clear Online Service Data
Preferences-Adobe Partner Services- Refresh
Deleting the cache folder found at: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Online Services\Photoshop Elements 10.0.0\cache
Any other suggestions? My photos continue to upload and appear on Flickr, but the hours of time consuming effort I put into tagging and captioning my photos is no longer displayed on my Flickr page.

Hi,
I have tried using PSE 9 & PSE 10 - they both omit the tags when uploading the images to Flickr.
If I upload the same image directly to the Flickr page then the tags are copied.
I am beginning to think that the problem may lie in the Adobe uploader service. When you use PSE to share to Flickr, the images are sent to the Adobe uploader service which then passes them to Flickr. The same Adobe service is used by Lightroom and I believe that has an option to minimize the metadata. I'm wondering if the service has been changed to minimize the metadata by default but we don't have a way of changing the default.
I would be interested to hear if Jon can get it to work correctly on PSE - then I know whether to carry on looking or not. I'm sure that it will work on Lightroom.
I have downloaded the Flickr uploader tool and use drag & drop from PSE to the uploader. If you write the tags to the photos first, they are copied to Flickr.

Since 2003 I have managed all of my photos with Picasa on my PC, I have added keywords and descriptions to the photos. This is stored in the photos and is recognized without any problem by, for an example, Flickr.
I transferred all of my photos to my mac and imported them into iPhoto. The import itself went by without any problem at all. I was happy until I discovered that all å, ä and ö had been changed into other letters. I really wouldn't want to manually edit the tags and descriptions of more than 5000 photos just because iPhoto isn't able to read data that already is there (other services can read it without any problem at all).
How can I get iPhoto to recognize the tags in a correct way?Usually I'm using English, but the behavior is the same no matter what language I use on my Mac.

Change your settings in Sharing preferences, for one, and remove the server out of the Finder's sidebar. Obviously, this is the result of transfering all your other computer's preferences to your new computer.

I share my Apple ID with my son on his Ipad and I phone. how do I stop my photos and messages from automatically going to his devices.
It should be iMessages which are going from device to device, you can turn this off in recipient device. The same sort of thing for Photos, however on your phone/ipad you can turn off 'Photo Stream" which will stop the sending to other devices. You can do this under Settings>Photos & Camera.

When in iPhoto for iOS you can share your photo to iTunes and then connect your iPad to your computer and use the file sharing window to move the photo to any connected hard disk. Sharing to iTunes is the only way to maintain original file size when sharing a photo in iPhoto for iOS.

Getting Tag and value from the selected Xml element value
Hi All,
I have an xml file which i import to the Indesign CS3 .From the structure view , i drag and drop the root node on to the page. Now i select an xml value from the page. Now i need to get the element tag and value from the selected value.
For example
File Name : sample1.xml
<Root>
<employeeName> A</employeeName>
<employeeEmail>[email protected]</employeeEmail>
</Root>
Now i import this sample.xml in my indesign CS3 and from the structure view i drag the Root tag and drop it on the page.Now the values of the element tag are displayed.
Now i select "[email protected]" from the page and i have a menu "Get Selected XML" on clicking which i should get element tag with value.(i.e <employeeEmail>[email protected]</employeeEmail>)
How to go about it.?

Get all tags and attributes from schema
Mapping question
I have a mapping requirement where the customer needs all the tags and attributes from the schema whether it has a value or not. The schema has almost 1500 tags and each of them has a attribute. We are mapping only about 50 of them, so the rest of them has to be blank. Actually about 700 of the attributes has fixed values like CHAR. Normally I would create a second mapping and use exists otherwise map a empty tag, but in this case the number of tags is high. Is there a easy way to create all the blank tags during runtime similar to using generate instance in test mode or generate sample file in xmlspy.
The scenario is IDOC to SOAP with BPM customer is using a custom schema

I transferred files and photos from MacBook to iMac via ethernet cable and using migration assistant. However every time I transferred, it created a separate user and it transferred all files and photos again and again. So now I have 3 users accounts with all files and photos saved 3 times on same iMac !! Any idea how to avoid this ?
Yes, you ran into a very understandable problem.
When you use Migration Assistant, it cannot over-write the account that you happen to be using at the time. Upon migrating accounts, it will tell you that it is going to create a new one, but that message is easy to miss.
If you have three identical accounts, log in to the account you want to keep, and delete the redundant ones in System Preferences > Users & Groups.
Now that you know, the easiest way to migrate accounts is to use Setup Assistant when you first get a new Mac. That eliminates any possibility for this to occur, but most people are so eager to use their new Mac that they elect to migrate later.
That's OK too, but in that case you would want to create a temporary account whose sole purpose is to run Migration Assistant so that you may migrate your old one with an identical name. Be sure to give the new account Administrator privileges. When that finishes you would log in to the newly migrated account, and delete the temporary account. -
Nokia Share Online - Flickr account has gone and w...
I tried to set up my Flickr account using the Share Online service on my Nokia N97. It kept failing to set up the account giving me Error 404. I deleted the service in the hope that it would reinstall correctly but now I can't retrieve the Flickr service at all and I don't want to use the Ovi site as it's rubbish.
Any ideas?
ThanksMe too -- no Flickr... I tried to 'update services' with the 'Share online' app, but only 'Ovi by Nokia' came up. When I tried to config Ovi, it errored with a blank web page (http://www.)... I wonder if this will be fixed?

My photos stopped transferring to my PC from my Iphone and Ipad
I went on Itunes and removed my Iphone from the list of devices on Itunes in the Cloud. Now I cant figure out how to add it back.
I'm trying to get my photos to transfer to my PC from my Iphone and Ipad, but they suddenly stopped transferring.For the benefit of the other 3 people with this issue I've found my own answer.
I have read that both devices need to have at least 20% charge and both need to be connected to wifi.
Somehow it is only after retreading this several times over the course of a week that I actually check that "both" devices
are in fact on wifi. The iPhone was not on wifi but still connected to 3G. Simple as that. It's all working again. -
Recovery of tags and albums from previous catalog
I recently transferred my photos and catalog to a new computer, but was not able to get PSE9 to recognize the original catalog. Adobe tech support advised me to rebuild the catalog, which was mostly succesful. However, all of the tags, albums and star ratings were lost. Is there any way to recover those from the old catalog? I have already uninstalled PSE from the old computer, but still have all of the old data files.
When I did the transfer of files from my old computer to the new one, I used Windows Easy Transfer, which moved all of My Documents folder, including My Pictures, which contains all of my photos and all of the Adobe support files, including the catalog (catalog.pse9db). I then installed PSE9 on the new computer and used the Catalog Manager to point to the catalog. Part of the problem with the catalog appeared to be that the path to the My Pictures folder was different on the new computer than it was on the old computer. I tried to Reconnect All Missing Files, but PSE was never able to find them. That's when Adobe Tech Support recommended I just rebuild the catalog.
I was pleased that the captions on the files were restored with the building of the new catalog, but the tags and albums were lost. Are they stored in the catalog or in another file? When I rebuilt the catalog, it looks like it used the existing one, since the old catalog is no longer in the Adobe My Catalog folder.
