Share to Vimeo?

I have selected a project, and procede through all required steps to share on Vimeo (where I have a paid account) in the final window, I click "publish" and nothing happens -no progress bar. I know it can take time to upload to Vimeo, but after 12 hrs the video is stil not "published". When I return to the "share" pull down menu to try the entire process again, the first window (vimeo) that pops up is the "publish" window. (using iMovie 9.0.4)

No. All of my FCPX contens -- all Events and Projects -- are kept on external RAID drives, so only the mast FCP X program is on the MacBook Pro Retina resident drive. FYI, the Share to Vimeo function was a little buggy, but appears to have been solved in the latest FCP X update. Previously, there was a size limit that FCP X placed on any Share to Vimeo where there is no size limit on our Vimeo Pro account.

  • Cannot share w Vimeo

Using QT 10.1: cannot share w Vimeo since prompt says incorrect name altho I know info is correct (email + pass).

getting less problems through and action inside fcpx (cannot say is a scientific test).
I don't know what this means.
But overall, compressor is always buggy and slow.
It can be slow. I have not found it to be buggy in pretty extensive testing.
If you're exporting a master file for use in Compressor, do not export a heavily compressed file like H.264 MPEG-4. Export a master file in ProRes in the same specs as the original.
The other option you can use is to create a custom preset in Compressor and then from inside FCP export using Compressor settings.
In my testing a two and a half minute project with titles and dissolves between each shot going to SD using Compressor settings took about real-time, slightly longer than two and a half minutes. If you're getting results substantially different from this it's either because you have very complex effects that need to be processed or you have a hardware problem in your system or drives.

  • FCPX 10.1.4 can't share to Vimeo

Finished making a video in FCPX and shared it to YouTube. All was well. Then I decided to share to Vimeo too. When it was done processing and uploading, the notification popped up and I clicked the "Visit" button. When it opened in my browser, I was on YouTube, not Vimeo. When I logged into Vimeo, the video was nowhere to be found. On YouTube, no additional videos had been added, just the originally uploaded one.
Tried this about 5 times with the same result, making sure I wasn't an idiot who accidentally clicked YouTube instead of Vimeo.
I'm stumped. I also tried duplicating the project as a snapshot and re-sharing to Vimeo. Same result. I tried adding a "New Destination" and re-entered everything for Vimeo. Same result. ***? I've been able to share to Vimeo in the past, countless times, with this very same version of FCPX. The only thing that has changed recently is that I installed iTune 12.1 today, and also recently installed Security Update 2015-001 and upgraded Logic Pro X to 10.1 (probably not relevant, but thought I'd mention it.). Could these have affected things?
    System: FCPX 10.1.4, Mac OS X 10.9.5, Mac Pro Early 2008, 2 x 2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon with 16 GB RAM

So I'm back with more information. Share to Vimeo still doesn't work. However, it seems that the "Visit" button takes me (unexpectedly) to the last location I shared to, not necessarily YouTube. My last share was to a flat file at 1080p. I tried uploading to Vimeo at 720p. FCPX processed it, and said it was done, but when I clicked the "Visit" button, it opened finder and took me to the 1080p file (still 1080p, so nothing was overwritten). Not sure why things are disappearing into the void, but I'm choosing instead to share to a master file (fit for Vimeo) to disk, and then uploading from there.

  • Share to Vimeo Stops with OS 10.8.2 Update from Oct. 4th

The Share to Vimeo compression/upload function has mysteriously stopped working on my FCP X. Select an edited Project, click Share, click Vimeo, enter a valid account and password, select publish, and the Share Monitor pops up, but the track does not appear, compression does not initialize and ergo there's nothing to upload. It just sits. The Vimeo Share function has been used hundreds of times successfully for our Vimeo account. The only thing software change this week has been the Apple OS 10.8.2 supplemental update from October 4th. Could that have caused this bug? Should I re-install FCP X? The work around, of course, is to manually send to compressor.
MacBook Pro with Retina, 16G ram, on OS 10.8.2 running FCP 10.0.5

  • Share with Vimeo is timing out

I recently upgraded to Yosemite OSX and Final Cut Pro X will not Share with Vimeo. I get a "Vimeo timed out" error. I have been using that for a year now flawlessly and now it won't upload large files. I am a Vimeo Pro user. Size is not a problem.
Any help? I have tried resigning in on Vimeo inside FCPX but it still won't upload.

Sorry  not to be clearer. I meant the library bundle. When you share>Vimeo, FCP first compresses the movie as an H.264 MOV. That file is saved in the Share Items folder in the library until the upload is complete an the session has been closed out. I've never run into a timed out message with Vimeo – although I don't upload files as large as yours and I usually use the Vimeo uploader after exporting a master file.

  • Sharing to vimeo impossible.  when I try to share to vimeo and begin my sign in, when I type "i" i get "inspector" instead of being able to type the "i" which is part of my online name.  HELP!

imovie 11 with Mountain Lion  trying to share a video to Vimeo...sign in impossible.  Try to type my sign in name and password for Vimeo.  When I type and "i" which is part of my user name it brings up "inspector" which is a feature of imovie....tried several times, same result.

Apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
    Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Select the options identified in the screenshot.
    Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download IPhoto Library Manager 4 for OS XC 10.6.8 and iPhoto  8.1.2 and later  or iPhoto Library Manager 3 (for OS X 10.5.8 and iPhoto 7.1.5 and earlier) and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu (iPLM 3) or Library ➙ Rebuild Library menu (iPLM 4) option.
In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
    Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

    Hi,
I have raised this on Adobe's feed back site - please log in to there and add to the count by clicking on the +1. The more people that add to the count, the more Adobe will take notice of it.

  • VIMEO share has inexplicable "black holes" (missing video)

    Anyone else have this problem:
I just finished a simple project. The project had no abnormal video (no funky formats, I've used this type of footage before, and it was all optimized) and there were no hitches during editing or playback. (And it's not a large project--just under 2 mins.)
Then, I shared a project (to my desktop) following some Vimeo specs that I created.
Just before posting to Vimeo, I did a quality check and  layed back the compressed file and... a (:04) black hole randomly appeared at one point in the piece. One entire shot. I went back to the video in the timeline and isolated it. Nothing seemed strange as I played it, nor in the inspector. (And it was not unlike ANY other shot in the timeline, same codec, etc...
I shared the project again. (Again to my Vimeo specs.)
THIS TIME... the original "hole" was gone, but another appeared toward the end of the piece. Again, I went back to my timeline to look at the missing shot... and, once again, it was fine.
I shared the project a THIRD time via my "Vimeo specs," and... that SECOND hole had healed itself, but  a black hole appeard in the original location of my first attempt at sharing.
    Agh!
So, I just did a full-rez (Master file-defalut) share of the project... and IT'S FINE! No holes. So, I completed a two-stage proces to compress THAT file for Vimeo. And all is well.
So, it seems, the hitches (black holes) appear when I go to share straight from my timeline to a compressed file.
Has anyone else had this phenonmenon?
    Has anyone found an answer?

how about if you just export to quicktime movie locally? Do you see the black frame then? You can also export to quicktime and select h264 as the output format, then you should be able to upload that file to vimeo. Extra step but the share to vimeo might be buggy.
Another thing to try is to delete all your render files (both event and project). Let things re-render and try the share to vimeo again.

  • Problem when exporting to Vimeo I get message "The share operation has failed. Quicktime error: -50" The file only gets to 8% before this happens any idea how to fix I have a movie deadline to meet!

    Hi all,
    Finished editing a short movie.
Then went to share on vimeo but got this message - see also screenshot when I tried to export to desktop.
Problem when exporting to Vimeo I get message "The share operation has failed. Quicktime error: -50" The file only gets to 8%.
Have tried deleting my render files for the project and also another fix mentioned of deleting any black space files on the edit itself but neither work?
Just upgraded to OS Mavericks could this be causing it? If so how to downgrade?
    thanks
    Louis B

Thanks for your help both, I called Apple tech support and spoke to a really helpful chap called Andrea who helped me out. Now got my Master file sorted and am trying Vimeo upload again.
Just to clarify points for people out there with the same issue:
    First steps
    - Ensure background rendering is turned off in preferences
    - Delete project and events render files
    - If upgraded to Mavericks then go to FCPX in finder under applications hit buttons 'CMD' and 'I' together and tick the 'prevent App Nap' box.
    Next Steps
I had already done all of this when Apple Tech spoke to me so we discussed the message 'Quicktime -50' and what it meant. It wasnt a purely generic error message but was not detailed enough to point to one specific issue. This problem had occurred in previous years (so Mavericks not wholly to blame) and patches were issued over the years by Apple to help resolve some of the problems.
The message essentially is indicating that there is a problem somewhere with the media in some way shape or form.
My export went to 8% then failed. Apple's answer was that the project settings were corrupted in some way.
So what they suggested (so simple I could kick myself) was to select all the media files by 'CMD + A' then copy them 'CMD + C' then create and open a new project timeline, and then paste in 'CMD + V'.
Then we tried export again this time to a master file with some settings detailed by Apple.
The difference now was it got to 40% then failed but due to a different reason 'error -1 frame 10124 error'
At last we get past the project issues and into the event media issues, it seems that when I loaded the compact flash last night, the iMac kept ejecting the reader so had to copy files over quickly and seems that some of the file clip I used although showed on the viewer, didn't seem to have loaded all the correct media, so selecting this clip frame 10124 on the viewer I found that it showed as red on the frame row which implied an issue. So I simply bladed it off and deleted it.
Then I reran the export to Master file and it worked, though jumping from 40% to 100% complete was a shock to me!
Now am trying the export to Vimeo - hope this helps some of you out there. Worst case pick up the phone to Apple and speak to the Final Cut Pro guys they can help.
    best wishes,
    Louis B

  • Possible to share as both DVD as well as online with Vimeo?

I've finished my first movie and would like to:
    1.  post it online to share on Vimeo
    2.  make copies on DVDs
Is this possible or am I limited to only one method of sharing the project?

I'm sorry....this is my first post.
I'm using APE 7 and don't want to mess up my "original file".

  • Upload problems with Facebook and Vimeo from Premiere Elements 10

I have created a project in HD and am trying to upload to Vimeo.  Premiere Elements 10 does not have a preset so I followed some instructions from the Vimeo website.  Project is "blurry" when viewed.  I checked with Vimeo and they said what they converted matches what I sent so the problem must be in the export - bit rate may be incorrect.  Can anyone give me the correct presets for Vimeo from Premiere Elements 10.  I can view other people's video in HD and they look fine so I don't think it's my computer monitor.   I'm sure you will need more information about my project so please give me a list of specific things you need to know.  Thank you.
My Facebook problem is as follows.  If I use the preset from Premiere Elements 10 to upload to Facebook it looks fine, HD quality as expected.  Problem is, I would like to upload to my business page.  Since the personal page and the business page (managed by my personal account) share a login, the preset always loads to my personal page.  Does anyone know the values of the preset so I can upload the video to my business page.  My business is event and wedding videography so I would like the posts to be as clear as possible.
If the problem with the Vimeo uploads is solved then I suppose I can just share the Vimeo file on Facebook.  Thank you.

    VDRAVES
I think that you are overlooking what you already have with regard to a Vimeo HD preset for export to file for upload of the saved file at the Vimeo website.
    Please see
Share/Computer/AVCHD with Presets = Vimeo HD
Under the Advanced Button/Video Tab, you can customize the preset further from 1280 x 720 to 1920 x 1080 and increase the bitrate, if necessary, to a level that does not give you a prohibitive file size. With Profile = Main and Level = 3.1, the bitrate range is 0.19 to 14 Mbps (megabits per second).
I would start with the default bitrates of Target = 8 Mbps and Maximium = 9 Mbps and explore and experiment from there.
If you customize the preset to 1920 x 1080 in the Export Settings customization area, then change the Profile to High and the Level to 5.1
When you do that the bitrate range will be 0.19 to 300 Mbps instead of 0.19 to 14 Mbps.
In all cases, watch for file size versus bitrate versus quality of end product.
Please give that a look and then let us know if the above resolves your Vimeo and Facebook question.
Please review and let us know the outcome.
    Thank you.

  • FCPX crashing when I try to share a project

When I try to export a project creating a new master file FCPX crashes. I can share to vimeo or youtube, or share a still image, but if I choose to share new master file then the program shuts down, and now it doesn´t even show me the report. I am using FCPX 10.1.3, but had the same problem with previous versions. Anyone has an idea about what can be causing this problem? Thanks!

Set up iMovie Theater and iCloud
In order to take full advantage of the capabilities of iMovie Theater, you must be signed in to iCloud. If you are signed in to iCloud, movies and trailers shared to iMovie Theater are automatically uploaded to iCloud. You can also turn off automatic uploading, and upload just the movies and trailers you want, or delete individual movies and trailers from iCloud. For more information about the Theater, see iMovie Theater overview.
If you sign out of your iCloud account on your Mac, all iCloud movies disappear from the Theater, but they are not deleted; the movies reappear when you sign in again. If you ever run out of space in iCloud, an alert icon appears in the top-right corner of your movie, indicating that you can’t upload new movies. For more information, click the icon. After you upgrade your iCloud storage or clear space, your movies automatically appear in iCloud again.

  • Bug report for erroneous Vimeo password error

If your Vimeo password contains a left parenthesis '(', when you attempt to share to Vimeo from Final Cut Pro X, it will tell you that your Vimeo password is invalid. If you change your password to remove the parenthesis, sharing will then be successful. I repro'd this issue with two different passwords containing parentheses.

FYI, Apple doesn't read these forums for bug reports. You need to use the "Send Feedback" option in the Final Cut Pro X menu to make sure they see this.

  • Output for Web (Vimeo)

I have a short 1 min. 15 sec. clip in HD I'm trying to output for web to share on Vimeo. Has anyone mess around with the compression setting for best output on the web? I've used the compression recommendations on Vimeo's web page, but FCE 4.0.1 is taking about 23 mins to Export. Is that normal for a 1 min and 15 second clip?

It's important to understand that hardware acceleration doesn't speed up encoding at all.  Not with CUDA, not with OpenCL.  Hardware acceleration speeds up the processing of certain effects, scaling, blending modes, and frame rate differences, but doesn't help at all with decoding and encoding of media.  So whether or not your export will speed up depends on whether or not you've got any of those hardware accelerated situations going on.  If you don't, then hardware acceleration won't make any difference in the export times.
Having said that, you don't necessarilly need CUDA to get hardware acceleration.  Premiere Pro CC now offers OpenCL on Windows machines with AMD cards.
