Share Web DVD and Menu Templates

I wonder if I can save and share a Web DVD through my automatic download sales.  I am saving all media in Amazon S3 so I can put the folders up there.  If it's possible which file would be the one a client would download?
This then leads to a 2nd question and that is about the menu templates.  Is there a place or way for me to develop my own templates with solid backgrounds, tailored to my business with the number of scenes I want to open on the front page?
THANKS again for your help!
Linda

If you have Photoshop, then you can do almost anything that you want.
The reason that I asked is that Photoshop can CREATE Layer Sets (basically the Buttons), where PS-Elements can ONLY edit those.
You might want to look at the link in this ARTICLE, for some tips for creating you own Menu Sets.
Good luck,

  • Encore web dvd and lightroom slideshow in muse?

I'm new to the whole process of creating a website but very curious about muse and business catalyst.
Can I bring a web-dvd (created in Encore) and/or a slideshow/web gallerie (created in Lightroom) into muse? Maybe someone can explain the process to me.
It woud help promote my work as a filmmaker and vfx compositor.

I haven't personally ever created a "web-dvd" from Encore, but created this sample website and explanation for how Lightroom and Muse can be used together to publish photo galleries from lightroom and a website from Muse to the same hosting. Perhaps it will be helpful.
Websites published to Business Catalyst via Muse are accessible via FTP so your Muse site can contain both the uploaded Muse content and uploaded galleries from Lightroom (or HTML/CSS/JavaScript uploaded from other tools).
If the site name is lightroomexample.businesscatalyst.com, then the FTP credentials for the site are:
    server: lightroomexample.businesscatalyst.com
    user: lightroomexample.businesscatalyst.com/<your Adobe ID>
    password: <your Adobe ID password>
The default FTP settings in Lightroom work fine. By default Lightroom places all the uploaded files in a "photos" subfolder on the site, so by default the root of the uploaded gallery would be at http://lightroomexample.businesscatalyst.com/photos/index.html. If you want to upload multiple separate galleries you could put each in its own subfolder.
URL hyperlinks can be used to establish links from Lightroom galleries to pages created by Muse and/or from Muse pages to Lightroom galleries.
I’ve create an example Muse site that contains two Lightroom galleries at http://lightroomexample.businesscatalyst.com.
IMPORTANT: One word of caution. When working with FTP (via an FTP client, Lightroom upload, etc.) you’ll want to take special care to limit your changes to only the files uploaded by Lightroom.  Overwriting, updating or deleting files uploaded by Muse or files that are part of the Business Catalyst platform would cause problems for the Muse content on your site (either immediately, or in the future as Muse adds support for Business Catalyst features). It could also cause problems for subsequent uploads of the Muse site.  If you’re working from Lightroom, you’re safe as long as the content uploaded by Lightroom is placed in a subdirectory of the main site and the subdirectory name doesn’t match one used by Muse or BC.  (At present Muse and BC use folders with names: css, image, scripts, stylesheets, Layouts and Templates. Avoid those names and all should be fine. If in doubt, use an FTP client or the Lightroom "Browse" button for "Server Path" in the FTP Server settings to see what folders already exist and make sure to use a new folder for your Lightroom gallery.)
This same approach can be used with an FTP client to upload other files you might want to make available from your site (i.e. PDFs). Use an FTP client to create a new folder within your site. Upload the files to the new folder.  Then link to the files from within Muse using URL links. In a future update we'll provide an easy way to manage the upload and linking to auxillary files directly within Muse, but until then it can be accomplished using FTP tools outside of Muse and URL hyperlinks.

  • WebCenter Sites : Consume Web Services and apply templates

    Hi,
What is the best approach to consume Web Services or REST Service with Sites?
The idea is to consume some eServices personalized for a connected user and apply different presentation templates for those services to add to Sites pages.
    Any Best practices here ?
    Regards
    Jo

For consuming SOAP services inside a delivery template, there used to be the webservices:invoke tag but it was deprecated in version 7.6, and was generally not recommended to use anyway. There are no new tags for consuming SOAP or REST webservices, customers asking to do that are generally advised to reuse the existing libraries and write their client code in java, for example directly in an element/template or custom tag that you use in elements/templates. For performing simple REST queries you could use ics.ReadPage or httpclient.
Sites (was CS) comes with jars for handling SOAP and REST services, such as saaj, xmlbeans, jaxrpc, and jersey. You can use these, but if you run into bugs or limitations with the provided versions be aware that upgrading these jars may break Sites. And similarly, upgrading Sites may change these jars and so break your client code.

  • Web Gallery and iWeb

There is a template in iWeb for albums, but not one for iPhoto Web Galleries. You can use the insert .mac web gallery option to get a web gallery onto a page, but is there a way to use the cool album template instead?
It seems so odd that there isn't better integration between Web Galleries and iWeb templates.

Yeah, I'm noticing this, too. Seems a bit of crap work, if you ask me.
I'm kind of unimpressed with the new iWeb. A few "widgets" isn't really all that neat, and I'm shocked they didn't include some sort of iphone theme (like a theme best viewed on an iphone.)
But this gallery thing is the most irritating.

  • DvD Menu Templates

Hi. Just wondering why Premiere Elements 11.0 did not include DvD Menu Templates. Instead, after you choose one, they ask you to download it from the web. Does anyone have a link for these menus? All my work computers are not on line for internet connection and all of them have elements 11.0. Thanks.

Your download choices from within the program are for the particular Content choice or ALL. But, the wait for one can be very long, although some claim they can accomplish that task in seconds. So, the wait for ALL can seem endless. There is an option for having the download take place in the background if that is any help.
Patience is a good part of the answer.

Unfortunately discussing this subject is not permitted on Apple's forums as the recently updated Apple Discussions User Agreement now clearly states.
Under item 2, para 8.2 it says "Do not submit software or descriptions of processes that break or otherwise ‘work around’ digital rights management software or hardware. This includes conversations about ‘ripping’ DVDs or working around FairPlay software used on the iTunes Store."

  • Exporting a custom menu template from DVD Studio Pro

So I recently developed a custom template in DVDSP that my company wants to use on all our DVDs.  Is there any way to export or share this template with my coworkers, or am I stuck with DVD duty?

Ah, after posting this, I found a solution here: https://discussions.apple.com/message/12420982#12420982
The instructions are slightly off: you look in User>Library>Application Support>Final Cut Studio>DVD Studio Pro>Templates and there you go.

  • Premiere Elements 13 problem with DVD menu templates

I recently purchased Premiere Elements 13 for my iMac.  It crashes every time I attempt to add a DVD menu template to my project.  Does anyone have a solution for this problem?

I just uninstalled and then re-installed Premiere Elements.  When I opened the program, I clicked on Movie Menus from the Tools menu.  There were blue bands on the menu thumbnails and I right-clicked on one and selected "download all."  P.E. let me know that the files would need 2.5 GB of space and I told it to go ahead and download the files.  The download was going fine and it downloaded all 2.5 GB of data.  I could see the blue bands disappear from the thumbnails as the download progressed.  When the downloading process was over the progress window disappeared.  I saw the rainbow colored pinwheel spin around for several seconds and then the program crashed.  The next thing I saw was a "Crash Report" with several lines of "computerese" and the message that it would be sent to Apple.  I clicked OK and in a second or two a window from Adobe appeared asking me if I wanted to restart the program and send the crash report to Adobe.  There was also an option for me to ask Adobe to send me feedback or tips for a workaround or solution to the problem and what came back was the message that Adobe had no workaround or solution to my problem.  For each of the previous times the program crashed, I have seen all of these windows that I just described.
One other thing:  when I re-opened Premiere Elements after the crash, I looked at the movie menu thumbnails and the blue bands were not there any more.  So it seems as though Premiere Elements "thinks" they have been downloaded.  If so, where are they and how do I use them?  And how do I prevent the program from crashing?
Feel free to ask me any questions you want to, especially if they will help solve this problem.  One reason I bought this program is that I want to make DVDs with menus and chapter selection buttons.  I have been using iDVD, but Apple no longer supports it, and it does have a few bugs I have had to work around.  I also have DVD Studio Pro, which came with Final Cut Studio a few years ago (before Final Cut Pro X) but it is not very user friendly.  I also have Final Cut Pro X, which has the option of authoring DVDs, but doesn't have the DVD menu template options that are in iDVD and DVD Studio Pro.
Thanks for your attention and help.

  • Where are the DVD menu templates?

Purchased Compressor 4 today and am so far quite underwhelmed.
One of the features on the Apple product page is "Choose from a set of menu templates to create basic Blu-ray discs or DVDs".   All I see are two templates:  the basic "black" and "white" templates that also ship with FCPX - simple title, single video, optional streched/clipped background image, optional chapter menu.  No sound/etc.
Granted, a set can contain zero or more items, so the Apple statement is truthful that these two templates are a "set" ... but sure seems misleading, implying that we would have more than two choices.
Anyone know if there is any ability to create or add more DVD menu templates to Compressor 4 / FCPX?
[I'm one of many struggling with  iDVD as my only disk burning option, since I've moved from Final Cut Express, which did not include DVD Studio Pro and Apple has not unbundled that product ... so FCPX users have very limited options for standalone DVD authoring programs.]
    Thanks,
    Karl

Only 2 for SD DVD, there's several for Blu Ray.
There is a place to find them, but you'd be hard pressed to figure out how to decifer them.

  • Re: Elements 9..........Web DVD.....Disc menu problem...

I'm trying to create a disc menu that includes a still image on the title screen . I browse and select the required jpg and it duly appears as expected on the selected menu. I preview the webDVD and all is as I wish it to be....However, when I finish/save the webDVD and then view the result the still image does not appear...just the original default look . What am I doing wrong ?..........

I've just tested it and, yes, it is one of the problem ones. If you especially wanted to use that template you would need to edit the templates in Photoshop Elements. http://muvipix.com has instructions on how to do this (in the subscribers area). • When I "share" to DVD the file is transcoded.  When it reaches 66% it starts to "finishing", but the process stops and does not proceed beyond 66%.  When I stop the sharing process I receive the following message "the share operation dvd has failed".

When I "share: to DVD the file is transcoded.  When the sharing process gets to 66%, it changes to "finishing" "CreateDVD:waiting fro create disk to finish.  The sharing process does no go beyond 66%, and when I stop the sharing process, I receive the message "the share DVD operation has failed."
Is this a problem with FCPX or Create DVD?  How can this problem be resolved?

The handshake between FCP and a hidden app called Create Disk wasn't completed.
Try this. Select a short range and Share>DVD. In Output Settings. set it to Hard Drive to save as a disk image. (Save to your Desktop so you can find it.) For menu Background, click the Add button, then cancel. That is often enough to wake up the disk burning part of this process. If it makes a disk image, try a physical disk.

  • Menu Templates for DVD Pro

Does anyone know of a good source for additional menu templates for DVD Studio Pro?

I've been looking too-I've seen those, but they mostly look pretty cheesy. Any other options?
Also, I've recently upgrade from Final Cut HD Production Suite to Final Cut 5.1 Studio, and was surprised to find NO new templates in DVD Studio Pro 4. Is that correct, or did I not load everything properly?

Export the slideshow out of iMovie via the File  ➙  Share ➙ File menu option as a 480p Quicktime movie.
Open iDVD, select a theme and drag the exported QT movie file into the open iDVD window being careful to avoid any drop zones.
Follow this workflow to help assure the best quality video DVD:
Once you have the project as you want it save it as a disk image via the File ➙ Save as Disk Image  menu option. This will separate the encoding process from the burn process.
To check the encoding mount the disk image, launch DVD Player and play it.  If it plays OK with DVD Player the encoding is good.
Then burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality.  Always use top quality media:  Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.

  • Web DVD problem - no activeX menu

So i created my 1st web DVD from, and everything works fine.  The menu creation and file encoding all worked great.  I can click on the Play_webDVD.html on my local drive, and it works perfect.
I upload the files to my web site.  When I try to play, it loads  only the flash player bar at the bottom of the frame.  I can not get the video to play.  I've tried with I.E. 9, and Chrome .Below is what

    Any ideas?

    Steve,
Thanks so much for your help.
To try to help things out - I've created a much smaller test web dvd:
    http://www.sonoranconsultants.com/Pirates/test/play_webdvd.html
Here is the directory listing of the files:
I don't think it has anything to do with my web.config file - as it does see the html file and "sort of" load it.  I went ahead and enabled directory browsing - so you can see what is in that directory
    if that is any help
    thanks again
