Shared Calendar Invites Keep Repeating

Off the top, this is likely a rare situation, but with my setup, it happens often.  We have three iCloud accounts that regularly invite each other to events through Calendar, however, these calendars are also shared (read-only) to each other.  The sharing works perfectly, and all calendars are accessible as desired.  This is how they are set up:
User 1 sees User 2's calendar
User 2 sees User 1's calendars
User 3 sees User 2 and User 1's calendars
Neither User 1 or User 2 sees User 3's calendars
I hope that makes sense.  The issue comes when an event is created by User 3 that includes invites to Users 1 and 2.  For some reason, after accepting, all users receive notifications from Calendar at least 3-5 times per day of the event.  Nothing is changed on any system.  However, the notification seems to stem from the other read-only calendars on each computer.  Of course, nothing can be updated on a read-only calendar, so it just keeps happening.  All systems are fully updated on Mavericks.  Any suggestions on how to stop the redundant alerts?
tl;dr: If you share calendars with each other, then send an event invite to those same people, it gives you an invite notice over and over.

I have the same problem. To be precise: the accepted invites reappear whenever I open mail.app and they only stop reappearing when the date of the invitation is in the past.
Is there really still no solution for this, or is it just not posted here?

  • Invitations keep repeating

    Hi,
My partner and I each have an iCloud calendar, which we share with each other. However, if one invites the other for an event, then it all goes wrong:
    - events only appear in one of the two calendars and not in both
    - the invitations keep repeating: for the last invitation I already accepted 10 times!!!
    Why is this going wrong?
    What can I do?
    Thanks

Hello and Welcome to Apple Discussions.
Do you have repeat turned on? To find out, open a song and tap on the picture. On the top bar should be a repeat and shuffle options on the left and right. Turn off repeat.
If that doesn't work try resetting your iPod Touch, you can do this by holding down both the Home and Lock buttons for at least 10 seconds until the device restarts.

  • How do i stop getting shared calendar invitations?

How do i stop getting shared calendar invitations which require a deleting action.

Going to answer my own question after searching the web a bit more...
The setting is not in the Notification Center, where you'd expect...  it's in the Calendar app on OS X, and in the Mail, Contacts and Calendar settings in iOS 6 (don't know about 7 yet ).
In OS X, open your Calendar and from the menu bar choose Calendar > Preferences and then highlight the Alerts tab.  Second from the bottom is a checkbox labelled "Turn off shared calendar messages in Notification Center"... it's unchecked, and you need to put a check mark (aka tick) in that box.  To be honest, I think this is poorly designed, because putting a check mark in a box to disable a setting is rather like a double negative, and probably why I've seen so many people think they have this set correctly when in fact the opposite is true.
There's a similar setting on iPhones/iPads too, and again it's hidden away, but at least it's the right way round.  Go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars and scroll right to the bottom.  Where it says "Shared Calendar Alerts" change this setting to "OFF" (it's ON by default).

  • Shared calendar invitation

need some help understanding sharing calendars. my wife and I share our calendars with each other. when she creates an event or appointment on her calendar I get an invitation for it. I say ok to it and on my calendar I get a message that says I edit it. I don't need the message. why do I get this? is there a way to turn it off?

I talked with tech support. No fix but a work around. The invitation in question was from outside our organization received through email, I am guessing from Exchange. The work around was to not auto accept invites from Mail but rather save the *.ics invitation to the desktop and then drag it on top of my "Server Based" shared calendar.
    Hope this helps someone else.

  • HT4968 How can I take a shared calendar and recreate it using my personal ical rather than having to share?

Here's the deal.  I stepped into an administrative position last fall and began building an entire calender schedule for our summer 2014 program.  I put a lot of work into building two months, however I have only just realized that the apple ID is for the former person who had my job (she left herself logged in on the mac I am now using).  My fault for assuming the apple id and login would be the same as the email account I am responsible for.
I did manage to share one of the calendars I created using her apple ID, so I still have access, however, I'd feel better if I could somehow take this "shared" calendar and keep it as my own using the apple ID for the email account I'm responsible for.  In other words, is there a way to take a calendar that was shared with you by someone else and save it under my apple ID as MY primary calendar? I'm paranoid that this former employee will delete said shared calendar and I will have to start from scratch...

Before you start see if you can export the calendar to a .ics file via the File ➙ Export menu option.  In your own account import the .ics file and that, hopefully, will bring in all the work you've done so far.

  • User has no connection on shared calendar.

I've checked the countless threads on here that are related to this, but to no avail. Here's the issue.
I've got a user who accepts a shared calendar invite. When viewing the calendar, it shows up as "No connection." The user is otherwise able to view other calendars, send/receive mail, and other users can view the No connection calendar.
    No problem updates are installed.

    Hi,
Is the user able to view the shared calendar on OWA?
If the user is still not able to view the calendar on OWA, please check if the permission has been removed.
Let the owner right click on the calendar, Properties, Permissions, check if the user's name is listed. If not, re-gain the permission to the user.
If the user is able to view the calendar on OWA, try the following steps:
    1. While Outlook 2010 is running, hold down the CTRL key, right-click the Outlook icon in the notification area, and then select Test E-mail AutoConfiguration.
    2. Verify that the correct e-mail address is in the box next to E-mail Address.
    3. Clear the check boxes next to Use Guessmart and Secure Guessmart Authentication.
    4. On the Test E-mail AutoConfiguration page, verify that the check box next to Use AutoDiscover is selected, and then click the Test button.
    Any error?
We may fix it by reset autodiscover, refer to the link in which there's a user who had the same issue, you may find useful information:

    Hope it helps.

  • Every time I accept an invitation, it tries to add it to a shared calendar

My partner and I both have icloud accounts. We both use Mac Mail and iCal and have the latest updates and OS.
We have shared our iCloud calendars with each other. If I receive a calendar invitation to anyone except her, for some reason iCal tries to put it on her calendar which I only have read access to. Then I get the following error:
Then this error keeps happening every time I open iÇal. If I accept the invite on my phone or iPad... it works fine. But if I accept it on my laptop or iMac using iCal... I get this error. She doesn't have the same problem... she accepts invites and they go directly into her personal calendar like it's suppose to.
Since we both have iCloud... it shouldn't be a compatibility issue. I've read several threads on this particular error, but none with this particular scenario. I'm getting really frustrated, especially since it happens on two different computers but not on my devices. I should also mention this is a new issue since things moved to "iCloud".
Any help or points to solution URLs would be much appreciated.
    Thanks!
    Jack

First, for Stop Motion Animation, there are better tools. These include iStopMotion and QuickTIme Pro Version 7.
If you want to do it in iMovie, it is possible, but slow.
First, go into iMovie Preferences, and make sure you check "Display Time as hh:mm:ss:frames". This will let you edit to the frame lever rather than to the nearest 10th of a second.
Second, see this Tutorial by Jon Walker on how to edit down to a single frame in a still image sequence.
You can modify his technique to get 2 or three frames.

  • Why do I keep getting alerts for shared calendars?

I have a calendar set up in Calendar, it syncs with iCloud.
My wife has a clanedar set up in Calendar, it syncs with iCloud.
Both calendars are shared, so we can see what the others availability is on a given day at a given time.
But why do I keep getting alerts on my iPhone (and only on my iPhone) for my WIFE's events?  I've turned off the "show shared calendar events" button in the calendar preferences on my iPhone, but I'm *still* getting alerts for all her events.  I don't need this, I don't want this, I turned it off... why is it still happening?
My iCloud calendar is defaulted to my calendar.  I do not get alerts on my iMac for her events, only on the iphone.  Can anyone help?  I never want to see her events unless I manually go and look at them on my calendars or in iCloud calendar.

That is not the current release.
The current release is Firefox 34.0.5.
If there are problems with updating or with the permissions then best is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.

  • How do I only have invited people receive the calendar notification for a shared calendar?

I work backstage for my school and me and the other techies set up a shared calendar (all of us can see, edit, and add events). But not everyone needs to go to each event. How can I make it so only the people that got invited revieve an alert (the in calendar thing to alert me say 15 minutes before the event)? as opposed to everyone the calendar is shared to.

  • Shared iCloud calendar colour keeps changing

I haven't had this problem for a while, but this week my the calendar my wife shares with me in iCloud keeps changing colour.
I am running iOS 6.1.3 and we have had the shared calendars set up for ages. Now no matter what i do her calander displays as blue, even though it is yellow when i log into iCloud on the web.
When I change to colour to purple on either my iPad or iPhone the colour changes on the web iCloud calendar but displays as blue in iCal on my mac, and in iCal on both my iPad and iPhone.
I haven't added any other new calendars or accounts recently, so I have no idea why this is happening (again)
Anyone else having this problem and/or found a solution?

I started having this problem in late June. Both the names and colours for some of my shared calendars suddenly changed to the names and colours used by the calendar owners (instead of the names and colours that I have assigned to them). This had worked just fine ever since shared calendars became available until June, 2013. My Mom and my sister are having the same problem.
I reported the problem to Apple support on July 3, and they ran through some troubleshooting with me. The names and colours are correct on the calendar app in Mountain Lion as well as iCloud.com through Safari on my Mac. However, when the calendar syncs to any iOS device, the namea and colours on SOME of the shared calendars change. This even occurs when setting up a brand new iPad for the first time.
If I change the name and colour on either my iPhone or iPad, the change seems to sync back to iCloud, but, just a few seconds later, the calendar app on iOS begins syncing again and the names and colours change back.
I spoke to two levels of support at Apple who were not able to resolve the problem. The second rep said the problem needed to be forwarded to an Apple engineer for investigation. It's now been over a month, and there has still been no response from their engineers. I've contacted Apple twice for an update, and they said the engineers still have not replied.

  • How to assign invitation to Shared Calendar

I have ICal Server running and my personal calendar is on the server for our workgroup to view, schedule etc. I receive an invitation via email but it is assigned to a "local calendar" and it will not let me move it to my shared calendar. Any Ideas?

  • Stop getting invites for shared calendar

Someone in my team is incorrectly getting meeting invites for each new meeting that is created on a shared calendar for which he is a delegate, but not the owner. The shared calendar is a Google Calendar that is part of a Google Apps business account, and is being synced to Mac Calendar as a CalDAV account. Furthermore, there are other individuals that are also setup as delegates for the same calendar, who are not receiving meeting invites for this calendar. Does anyone know why this would be happening, and how to fix it so that this person no longer receieves invites for the shared calendar?

    Kenneth,
What happens if you check option at the bottom of that window?
✓ Turn off invitation messages in Notification Center
You won’t receive event invitation notices in Notification Center. You still receive notices in Calendar or by email.

  • Not receiving icloud calendar invites or calendar sharing

I am so sorry to bring this up but I have gone through discussion after discussion and nothing seems to be working for me! This is the first time I have ever posted so any help would be greatly appreciated.
My apple ID is a hotmail.com account and it is no longer receiving calendar invites or invites to share a calendar. They worked perfectly up until around the end of January 2013 as far as I can see so this appears to be a problem that has appeared in the last couple of weeks
I have tested it with some friends and it appears that some of my invitations are working when I send them out but it appears to be hit & miss (Last night I invited someone to share my calendar and they received the invite- when they invited me I did not receive anything)
I have changed my password on appleid so it meets the new security guidelines,
I have checked my appleid to ensure that there are no other unverified e-mail addresses linked to my account,
Both my iphone and ipad have had the latest updates (iOS 6.1.2)
I have changed my appleid to a different hotmail address and then changed it back to the original one and the invites did not work.
I have logged into icloud.com on my PC but no new invites have appeared on there.
Syncing of my calendar, reminders, safari and contacts etc is still working fine between my iphone and my ipad.
Please let me know if any more detail is needed. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you.

Are you still experiencing the issue?? Have you called Applecare?

  • Shared calendars repeating

I share 4 calendars with 3 other people,  and even though I do not have alerts set for them, some will alert and some will not. Some will even duplicate in ical on my laptop and on some idevices I share the calendars with. I have checked some but not all of the other devices I share with and the ones I have checked do not have alerts set up for them, not even automatic alerts set up. This has become a real annoyance to myself and the other people. Even if there is no duplicate events listed on the laptop ical, it will show multiple notifications. Any ideas anyone?

I forgot to mention that others do not have write access to my shared calendars, they can only view them.
