Shared Directory Brandy Lime Wire Tunes

Lately I've had a new directory show up on my Itunes called "Shared". Under it shows "Brandy's Lime Wire Tunes". Something is trying to contact my Itunes. I tried right clicking inside the blank directory and clicking on "disconnect" but it still persists. Anyone have this situation? Charlie

  • Issues with Lime Wire on Tiger?

Someone has recommended Lime Wire, though I know that it is used for some illegal file sharing (not the part that I am interested in). Anyone know if it causes any problems with Tiger?
    Thanks.

    Hello Mark.
I don't have any experience using LimeWire with Tiger since I don't have any need or desire to use a P2P client. There are potential security risks associated with it.
I'm sure there are other purposes for using a P2P client besides downloading free music but depending on the reason you need to want to use it, you should be careful since there is nothing preventing you from downloading a malicious script masquerading as something legit which can cause you harm.
There was a malicious script masqerading as a free download of Microsoft Office for OS X available via P2P networks that when launched on a Mac erased the user's entire Home directory.

  • Mozilla quits when I login to Yahoo Mail. I read on a forum that I need to delete npYstate.dll from Yahoo/Shared directory. This .dll is not available in that folder on my system. Strange???

I read in one of the forums that I need to delete the npYstate.dll file from the Yahoo/Shared directory but this file is not available in this directory on my system. Mozilla still continues to quit when I log in to Yahoo mail.......

Yup, it just copies all the information on that page to your Windows clipboard, for you to paste anywhere (email, text file, etc.).

  • Using Time Machine to backup a shared directory on Windows XP.

I have a shared directory on a Windows XP machine on my LAN that I would like to backup using Time Machine.  Apparently Time Machine will not automatically backup shared directories so I created a soft link to the mount point, /Volumes/WindowsXP, and put that link in my home directory.  It doesn't look to me like Time Machine is following the soft link and backing up my shared Windows XP directory.  Am I doing something wrong or will Time Machine simply refuse to backup a shared directory under any conditions?
    Thanks

I solved this problem by using rdiff-backup.  It accomplishes many of the same things that Time Machine does, but only saves differences so it consumes less space.

  • Mac Mini with OS X Tiger  can't connect to windows XP shared directory

I recently upgrade my mac mini from OS X panther to tiger, after i upgrade, i can't connect to the shared directory on my PC. The internet is working correctly on the MAC. and before the upgrading, it works fine as well.
the symptom is I click on finder menu -> go -> connect to server, type in smb://x.x.x.x, click on connect, nothing happens, it does not even try to connect.
I have another Powerbook connecting to the same sub net and it can connect to my PC with no problem.
    please help.
    thank you very much.

as for log out and back in, i tried restarting several times already, which didn't work yet.
Not the same thing actually... logging out and in will theoretically have all the Interfaces up & running already, whereas on Bootup, things may be trying to happen before other things are ready.

  • Is it possible to move the rsw.vba file to a shared directory?

As I create more global functions, contants, variables, subs etc., this file will get very important. So Important that I suspect if it were somehow to become corrupt, deleted or lost most or all of my scripts would be broken. Right now I don't have source control software so I would like to store this file on our fileserver. I have already moved my repositories, scripts and DataBank Files to this location.
    Thanks in advance,
    hagstal

i don't believe is possible to move the RSW.vba file to a shared directory, however you can just copy the file across different machines.
I would also strongly recommend that, (if this file is gonna become so important) to use a source control system, SVN and tortoise make a very good combination
    (http://tortoisesvn.tigris.org/).
Have a look at this thread, it has some other ideas on how to share your RSW.vba file

  • Getting a list of files from a shared directory

    Hi All,
I need to get a list of files from a shared directory on another server and put them in a HTMLB TableView element with links to the files.
I was not successful with CL_GUI_FRONTEND_SERVICES=>DIRECTORY_LIST_FILES. This method works in test mode, but gives me a gui_not_supported exception in BSP. I guess BSPs are not allowed to use this.
    Is there any other alternative?
I need to be able to upload the files as well.
    Thanks,
    Roman

    Hi again,
Not sure about the shared directory files list...
In my opinion, this cannot be done using BSP.
But, you can try using VBScript to access the file system with object of that sort :
    CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject")
it is only a thought and you can be sure to cross security problems by accessing files through a Web application...
    Best regards,

  • Download the Report content on to a shared directory

    Dear BI experts,
We do not have Open Hub with us. We are now broadcasting our reports to our users email ID. However the users wants the report data to be saved (or downloaded) regularly (no maual intervention) on to a shared directory so that they could access the data at their convenience.
Could you please tell me as to how this could be done.
    Thanks,
    Sai

    Hi,
Go for broadcasting to Portal option where you can broadcast the report to a particular folder like BEx Portfolio or My Portfolio.Later you can access it.

  • Shared Directory Help

I accidentally deleted the information in the shared directory pages that displays the directory listings and what is in them (just the default out of the box oracle codes).
I am a mid/expert portal user but a novice SQL user so I have NO clue how to get it back. Does anyone know if I can do a partial restore of this information or what snippet of code I deleted that caused the removal of the file indexing?
I believe the code was located in the navigation banner (it was the only thing I changed before I realized it was gone)
For now, I have the HTML code from the wireless devices hanging out there ( for A it is :
a... ( Where MODE =23 = wireless (I don't know what it is for NOT wireless or if it was more sophisticated than HTML before)
But obviously, if someone clicks on one of the above links, they get the wireless shared directories information instead of the correct share document information which is way no good.
Any help or insight you all could provide would be extremely helpful
    Thanks
    Em

    Hi,I have resolved.
In practical in Windows beyond assigning the permission for the user sidadm, SAP can operate on that one directory in share must add the SAPServiceSID user of the relative request that must write/read as an example (through a program ABAP).

  • How do I get my lime wire files onto my Z

I have lime wire, and recently downloadeda few songs i wanted to add to my Zen. I've saved the playlist in lime wire into dri've D under my downloads and also many other places i thought i could open the file. Im using the import wizard to transfer the files onto my windows media player.. but the file wont open and i cant find it. its like i never saved it.
what can i do to get the lime wire files onto my ZEN?
    thanks
    Jenny

    Jennifer,
Hmmm, when you download an audio clip off limewire, the file downloads to a certain location in the computer, assuming you have windows media player 0 and a Zen micro, Zen Sleek or Zen Vision you should be able to open up that folder where the audio clips are downloaded; go to the sync tab in WMP0 and simply drag the songs into the que list. After you have all your songs in the que list simply press "start sync" located on the upper left hand corner in WMP0. You can also use Creative Media Explorer and Creative Mediasource with the players listed above.

  • Lime Wire OSX installation problem

I downloaded the Lime Wire OSX but when I tried open the file to install it, a warning window pops up and it says, "The following disk images failed to mount" and the reason being "not recognized". Anyone knows what this means and what I can do to install the program?
    Thanks.

You might want to post your quetsion in the OS X discussions, as it really has nothing to do with "Windows Compatibility."

  • Adding music from Lime Wire

I used to be able to add my music from Lime Wire to my iPhone but it won't let me. Can someone tell me how to allow me to download my Lime Wire music to my iPhone? Thank you.

    Welcome to the forums.
It shouldn't make any difference where you get your music from -- just drag and drop it into iTunes and as long as it's in a format iTunes supports (like MP3) it will import properly.
If it's not in the right format you will need to convert it first.
