Shared exchange folder fails in Mail after upgrade to Lion

Prior to the upgrade to Lion I was able to access a shared MS exchange mail folder (via exchange IMAP) within mail.
Now when when I try and connect it repeatedly asks for the account password for the folder. When I enter password it simply reasks for the account password.
Any ideas or suggestions welcomed.

Same issue!
no way to get access on delegated mailbox (Exchange).
I hate having to use "Microsoft Outlook 2011" instead of "Mail", but this is the only way I've found.

  • "Loading" problem viewing older mail after upgrading to Lion in mail.app

I have a client who just bought a new MBA. Previously he was running Leopard on an aluminum MBP. To upgrade his mail for the new machine, I copied the user/Library/Mail folder to the same place on the new machine. (Why did they make the user library folder invisible?) I then opened Mail, he set up his account, and Lion Mail proceeded to update and open up. However, he cannot view many of his emails. Mail reports in the view pane that it is "loading" and never fully loads that mail. What is the cure for this?
I do know that if you use the Import Mailboxes function, those mails are viewable but then there is the issue of having all of his old mail (and there is a lot of it) in an Import subfolder. (I know these can be moved to like-named folders in the current mailbox but what a PITA.
Also- is there a way to completely disable the "conversations" feature?
    Thanks.

Hi. I don't really did anything. As stated, I restarted and rebooted a few times and it started to work fine. Not sure what caused it or solved it other than that...
sorry that I can't be of more help, hope you'll get it sorted too.

  • Cannot send mail after upgrading to Lion

    Can anyone help.
I upgraded to OS X Lion, and since then I cannot send mail from any of my accounts.
Nothing wrong with them. I can access, receive and send with othe Mail programs, as well as from my iPhone and iPad.
I have deleted, and reconfigured my accounts, and no luck.

I am having the exact same problem as Steve Kennedy a few posts back.
"When I press send I watch the fan for a couple of minutes before seeing the error message that invites me to select another server or try later. The outgoing mail server that shows up as being unusable is MobileMe (MobileMe). When I select smtp.me.com, I can send. Sometimes I can even send a couple of messages before the problem returns.
I'm using Lion and Mail 5.0 (1244.2/1244.3) on my iMac (mid-2010) and Verizon FIOS. Never had this problem with Snow Leopard or earlier. Don't have it with my MacPro running Snow Leopard on the home wireless network. Don't have it when using MobileMe mail on the Web, but that's a slow alternative."
I am getting REAL tired of the Lion quirks. <y desktop rearranges itself when it feels like it. Nothing consistent or repeatable. The folders just all appear on the right side and disregard how I have them organized on the desktop. I have set all of the recommended settings to no avail. A mind of it's own.
Help us Apple. Mail is almost unusable.

  • Problems with Mail after Upgrading to Lion

I recently upgraded from Snow Leopard to Lion (which is the most updated OS my Mac can run)
Now Mail doesn't recognise my me.com password and I can't send or receive emails from my me.com account on the upgraded Mac - although the iCloud account emails work just fine.
On my other devices (iPad and a non-upgraded Mac running Snow Leopard) can send and receive from the me.com account just fine
Any help or thoughts would be much appreciated

  • Unable to receive Yahoo mail after upgrading to iOS 5.01

Need help resolve problem on receiving Yahoo mails after upgrading to iOS 5.01

After upgrading to 5.01, I also am having problems with receiving Yahoo emails. Some emails seems to get pushed and download fine from the server. Emails with attachments will show up one minute and then disappear off the screen again. I know they are not being deleted because I can check them on my laptop just fine. When I do get an email to stay on the screen, it says "this message has not been downloaded from the server." At random times, yahoo will try to check for mail and say connection failed to server or something like this. This only started happening since 5.01. I have also tried recreating the account on the phone, but that did not help. Any ideas?

After upgrading to Lion, I went to open Mail and received the message that it needed to upgrade my Mail database - this may take a few minutes. The bar shows it is about 1/5 along and has been there for over 10 hours.
I tried quitting and starting again but it just jumps back to the same spot.

It is quite large, but I have tried two of the fixes suggested and things now seem to be moving along.
(I was unable to seach properly before which is why I posted the question - it was a bit of a panic)

  • Time machine fails backing up with a "backup disk not found" error after upgrade to Lion 10.7.2

Time machine fails backing up with a "backup disk not found" error after upgrade to Lion 10.7.2. I've erased and reformatted the drive; reconnected Time Machine(it saw it) and began a new backup. The backup starts again but fails before completing with backup drive not found error. I used the 10.7.2 combo update. Any help on how to fix this problem would be appreciated.

    Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!
After waiting since October for a fix, I have now upgraded the firmware on the Time Capsule and installed the new Airport Utility, released yesterday, and the situation is even worse.
Up until now, the Airport Utility had an option to disconnect all drives manually and the Time Capsule would then work until the next reboot – a temporary (?) work-around.
Now that option does not exist in the new-look Airport Utility. And the Airport Utility installation can’t be rolled back and the old utility won’t restore.
The sparesbundle is still not accessible. Anyone worked out a work-around in the new environment yet?
I have another Time Machine backup working fine to a trusty old Lacie Drive so erased the one on my Time Capsule to see if that works. I have renamed the Capsule and the Time Capsule Drive.  But to build another full backup will take at least two days and I shall be away from tomorrow and am reluctant to leave the Capsule and computer up and running for a week. And I’ll bet the sparsbundle will still be nowhere to be found.
How can Apple screw up so badly when they are to become the richest company in the entire world and – soon – will have more cash in the bank than the entire United States? Can’t they afford someone who really can sort this out? Especially when a Firewire connected hard drive – my trusty and simple LaCie – works fine.
    Words, almost, fail me.

How can I access old Entourage emails to import them into Mac Mail after upgrading to OS Lion? I don't really want to go back to Snow Leopard in order to access the old Microsoft Applications, but they simply aren't supported in Lion.

In Mail you can select Import Mailboxes... from the File menu. There is an import from Entourage feature.

  • Apple Mail Search and Spotlight do not work for locating email messages after upgrading to Lion 10.8.3.

Apple Mail Search and Spotlight do not work for locating email messages after upgrading to Lion 10.8.3 on my 27" iMac.
When searching in Apple Mail, sometimes a get a few results (with many missing), and sometimes no results at all.
I had absolutely no problems before with Snow Loepard.
I have reindexed mail and my startup drive. I have followed discussions regarding this matter and tried everything - a waste of time.
This is VERY serious for me - I have many thousands of messages that I archive and need to reference for work and clients, and now I cannot find them.

I found out that I needed a $100 mini displayport to dual-link dvi adapter to make my $30" cinema display work with my macbook pro
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MB571Z/A/mini-displayport-to-dual-link-dvi-ada pter?fnode=51
When I found out that solved the problem, I took it back because that was too expensive for a stupid adapter, and it still didn't work perfectly.
