Shared line/Transfer error
CCM 4.2; Shared line
A receptionist has told me there are times when handling a call on a shared line, and in process of transferring the call that a second call rings to the line and causes an error message "number is not valid" (or something to that affect)and to "please try again later". At that point the receptionist presses "end call" to disconnect from tranfer mode and she is able to reconnect with the call being transferred. The second call was answered and handled, but the first one wasn't able to be transferred due to ??
I'm told by the other receptionists this has also happened to them.
This shared line is an emergency line, and needs to work smoothly. It's set for maximum of 5 calls, with a busy trigger of 2.
Any thoughts on how to prevent the error message from occuring, and tranfer to be allowed to complete when new call is ringing through?
Thank you, Nat
Hey Nat,
Good stuff! Here is some info for "On Hook" transfer;
Onhook Call Transfer
Modifications to the Call Transfer feature add the onhook (hangup) action as a possible last step to complete a call transfer. The Transfer On-hook Enabled service parameter, which enables onhook call transfer, must be set to True for onhook call transfer to succeed. If the service parameter is set to False, the onhook action ends the secondary call to the third party.
In the existing implementation, if user B has an active call on a particular line (from user A) and user B has not reached the maximum number of calls on this line, the Cisco IP Phone provides a Transfer softkey to user B. If user B presses the Transfer softkey (or Transfer button, if available) once, user B receives dial tone and can make a secondary call: user B dials the number of a third party (user C). Cisco CallManager provides a Transfer softkey to user B again. If user B presses the Transfer softkey again (or Transfer button, if available), the transfer operation completes.
With the new onhook call transfer implementation, user B can hang up after dialing user C's number, and the transfer completes. Both the existing and new implementations work in both the case of a blind transfer (user B disconnects before user C answers) and also in the case of a consult transfer (user B waits for user C to answer and announces the call from user A).
The previous implementation remains unchanged: user B can press the Transfer softkey twice to complete the transfer

When you say "It's after dialing the extension line that they get the error of "not a valid number, please try again later"." Is this a visual message on the display (Probably) or an audible message?
Let me know

BAPI Error FF818 : Line-by-line taxes active and therefore line-by-line transfer mandatory
Hi,
Line-by-line taxes active and therefore line-by-line transfer mandatory - Error FF818.
Error FF-818 With BAPI - BAPI_ACC_DOCUMENT_POST or BAPI_ACC_INVOICE_RECEIPT_POST , when I was trying to post Incoming vendor invoice without PO (FB60 Transaction code).
I could able to post the document successfully, if I can populate the below three fields in DOCUMENTHEADER, but the BAPI return doesnt populate the generated document number as well as BKPF-AWKEY is populated with value '$'. Which is not acceptable in an IDoc scenario as we can see the document number in the return message as '$'.

Hi experts,
i have a PO with a single service position. The order was correctly transferred to backend system.
Before GR, i modify PO decrementing quantity (so also price), but i receive backend transfer error "price error will become negative - BBP_PD_PO_TRANSFER".
Does anyone know why?
Thanks a lot,
Valerio1- What is your SRM and ECC release and patch level ?
2-What is the price in the backend PO before you try to change SRM PO ?
3-Are you using inforecord or contract price conditions ?
Kind regards,
Yann
Hi Yann,
1 - Our SRM is SRM 4.00, we have SP9 release.
2 - initial PO qty 674, price 51.150,90
after mod. PO qty 565, price 41.286,20
3 - no inforecords, no contract price. The price was inserted into line position of service item.
Thanks,
Christian -

What are the "Shared Cursor (KKS) errors" = ORA-44201 - 44300
Hi,
Does anybody know what are the "Shared Cursor (KKS) errors" supposed to raise Oracle errors ORA-44201 till 44300?
I am currently facing an 'ORA-44201: cursor needs to be reparsed' using Oracle DB EE 10.2.0.3!

Shared line appearance service scenario
I have two 962 phones with version 6.1.3(a) for SLA test. Each has number 3000 and 5000.
configuration summary below:

As a result of setup using Setup Wizard program verion 2.1
At 3000 phones

At the phone's screen, it displays like that a first line has folded phone icon, second has normal phone icon, the third and the forth line has 3 by 4 keypad icon.
At 5000 phones
Same with above but changed the number 3000 to 5000 and visa versa.
The configuration show above is the results of setup wizard, not manually configured.
The "System Configuration Using the SPA9000 setup Wizard, verion 2.1, Installation and Configuration Guide" says that
"In this example, a station is configured with the name Sales2. Line 2 is
configured with a Shared Line Appearance for a station named Sales1. After
these settings are submitted, the button will display the name of the selected
station, Sales1. When an incoming call is directed to Sales1, both phones will
ring, and Line 2 on Sales2 will flash red. The user at Sales1 can answer the
call normally, or the user at Sales2 can answer the call by pressing the Line 2
button. If the call is answered and put on hold, it can be resumed from either
Sales1 or Sales2."
<Question 1>
The underlined sentence does not working.
2000 make a call to 3000, both 3000 and 5000 ring, 3000 answered and put this call on hold, and try to retrieve at 5000 by push the line displayed "sip3000". but It make a ring on 3000 with new line !!!!!!!!!!!
<Question 2>
The difference what was written in this potsed threads is that the Line key3's extension is not "Disabled" but another EXT number. (for example EXT1, or )
For example, At station 3000 -> phone -> like key 3, when I changed the Extension "Disabled" to ext "1", If I make a call to 5000,this phone 3000 does not ring simultaneously.
<Question 3>
I added EXT 2 for each phone's subscriber information.
At Phone 5000,
EXT2
Shared Ext:"shared" Shared User ID: 3000

Subscriber Information: Display Name: sip3000, User ID: 3000
3000 5000

EXT2 5000 3000
Phone
Line1 ext 1, shared, 3000 ext 1, shared, 5000
Line 2 ext 1, private, 3000 ext 1, private, 5000
Line 3 ext Disabled, shared, sip5000 ext Disabled, shared, sip3000
fnc=blf+sd+cp;sub=sip5000@$PROXY;ext=5000@$PROXY
fnc=blf+sd+cp;sub=sip3000@$PROXY;ext=3000@$PROXY
Line 3 ext Disabled, shared, sip5000 ext Disabled, shared, sip3000
fnc=blf+sd+cp;sub=sip5000@$PROXY;ext=5000@$PROXY
fnc=blf+sd+cp;sub=sip3000@$PROXY;ext=3000@$PROXY
The shared line icons are changed as "folded phone" icon.
PBX Status shown below:
Registration Station User ID IP Address Reg Expires(s) User-Agent
sip3000 3000 192.168.10.2 37 Linksys/SPA962-6.1.3(a)
sip3000 5000 192.168.10.2 59 Linksys/SPA962-6.1.3(a)

then, "If the call is answered and put on hold, it can be resumed from either
Sales1 or Sales2." ==> It works !!!!!!!
Does a phone should register with not only its own number but also shared line phone's number ?
Does it correct configuration for Shared line appearance ???
<Question 4>
2000 call to 3000, 3000 answer, 2000 and 3000 is connected.
3000's line 1's LED is red and icon is "3000 <-->".
5000's shared line 3 's LED is red and blink intermittently and icon is "sip3000 <-->".
If I push the shared line 3(sip3000) at 5000. call was picked up, thus 2000 and 5000 was connected.
BUT, At 3000 there is no lines are turn RED (it means that the shared line is not monitored).
I think the shared line "sip5000" at 3000 should be turn RED.
Is it normal operation ?
<Question 5>
and finally, what scenarios does spa9000 supports with related to SLA?
A --> B(C), C(B) ring simultaneously.
hold, resume by each other.
transfer or conference
pickup established user by push shared line.
what else ? If is there any service scenario document please let me know.
what about intercom?
When sceretary answer a call, how to let boss know? just seize a new line, make a call and transfer after answer ?
or, assign new line with func like intercom and push that line to notice a new call to boss and then
transfer or hold by sceretary resume by boss etc.,
Message Edited by nature21 on 03-18-2009 11:09 PMas of now its hard to tell the exact problem with your setup. i suggest that you try to reconfigure the device again. you may also try to check the admin guide for the device.

Transfer Error, when saving Java Objects to database
I'am getting this error "Transfer Error" when I try to save a java object (an image) to a database (jDatastore 6). Iam using a jdbc to conect to the database here is the code I am using.
PreparedStatement pstmt = con.prepareStatement(
"INSERT INTO MAP (IMAGE) VALUES (?);");
pstmt.setObject(1, orginal_map);
System.out.println("1");
pstmt.executeUpdate();
Can and one help me with this ????Hey smhumayum,
Ya it's a bit of weard one. No no the image is now in an array when you need to creat a new imge you generate an image from the array.
// orginal_map // this is an image object
//map_org_pixels// this is an array
// this line takes each pixel from the pic and puts it in to the array//
grabber = new PixelGrabber(orginal_map, 0, 0, w, h, map_org_pixels, 0, w);
// this line takes an array and converts it in to an image //
map_on_screen = createImage(new MemoryImageSource(w, h, map_org_pixels, 0, w));

836: Cannot create data store shared-memory segment, error 22
Hi,
I am hoping that there is an active TimesTen user community out there who could help with this, or the TimesTen support team who hopefully monitor this forum.
I am currently evaluating TimesTen for a global investment organisation. We currently have a large Datawarehouse, where we utilise summary views and query rewrite, but have isolated some data that we would like to store in memory, and then be able to
report on it through a J2EE website.
We are evaluating TimesTen versus developing our own custom cache. Obviously, we would like to go with a packaged solution but we need to ensure that there are no limits in relation to maximum size. Looking through the documentation, it appears that the
only limit on a 64bit system is the actual physical memory on the box. Sounds good, but we want to prove it since we would like to see how the application scales when we store about 30gb (the limit on our UAT environment is 32gb). The ultimate goal is to
see if we can store about 50-60gb in memory.
Is this correct? Or are there any caveats in relation to this?
We have been able to get our Data Store store 8gb of data, but want to increase this. I am assuming that the following error message is due to us not changing the /etc/system on the box:
836: Cannot create data store shared-memory segment, error 22
703: Subdaemon connect to data store failed with error TT836
Can somebody from the User community, or an Oracle Times Ten support person recommend what should be changed above to fully utilise the 32gb of memory, and the 12 processors on the box.
Its quite a big deal for us to bounce the UAT unix box, so l want to be sure that l have factored in all changes that would ensure the following:
* Existing Oracle Database instances are not adversely impacted
* We are able to create a Data Store which is able fully utilise the physical memory on the box
* We don't need to change these settings for quite some time, and still be able to complete our evaluation
We are currently in discussion with our in-house Oracle team, but need to complete this process before contacting Oracle directly, but help with the above request would help speed this process up.
The current /etc/system settings are below, and l have put in the current machines settings as comments at the end of each line.
Can you please provide the recommended settings to fully utilise the existing 32gb on the box?

I work for Oracle in the UK and I manage the TimesTen pre-sales support team for EMEA.
Your main problem here is that the value for shmsys:shminfo_shmmax in /etc/system is currently set to 8 Gb therby limiting the maximum size of a single shared memory segment (and hence Timesten datastore) to 8 Gb. You need to increase this to a suitable value (maybe 32 Gb in your case). While you are doing that it would be advisable to increase ny of the other kernel parameters that are currently lower than recommended up to the recommended values. There is no harm in increasing them other possibly than a tiny increase in kernel resources, but with 32 GB of RAM I don't think you need be concerned about that...
You should also be sure that the system has enough swap space configured to supprt a shared memory segment of this size. I would recommend that you have at least 48 GB of swap configured.
TimesTen should detect that you have a multi-CPU machine and adjust its behaviour accordingly but if you want to be absolutely sure you can set SMPOptLevel=1 in the ODBC settings for the datastore.
If you want more direct assistance with your evaluation going forward then please let me know and I will contact you directly. Of course, you are free to continue using this forum if you would prefer.

Messages Button and Shared Lines
CallManager 4.1(3)sr1 and Unity 4.0(5).
Many of the phones deployed in small offices have all of the extensions showing (shared lines) so that the user can tell if another user is on the phone before attempting to transfer a call.
Now, and it has been only one remote site, when a user that does not have new VoiceMail waiting, presses the message key, they get the VoiceMail attendant from Unity asking for a password. That is normal. What is not normal is that when they enter the password, they are told it is wrong. What we have found is that instead of the messages button trying to connect as the primary extension of the phone (line 1) it has picked up different extension such as the third number (one of the shared).
If there is a new message on the phone, the system appears to work alright.
Any ideas on what might be happening or of a way to resolve? Right now the work around we use is to have the user press the Star key and then enter the extension they want to check.Hi Gene,
I think you would need to change the following so that the Message Button is only associated with the Prime Line;
Service Parameters Configuration
Clusterwide Parameters (Device - Phone)
Always Use Prime Line for Voice Message - **Change from False to True**
Hope this helps!

First I made a 6.0.2 upgrade and later I followed the “solving troubles” procedure at NI home page, like empty the TEMP directory and so on.
Later I sent my VI to NI support and I received the confirmation that they were able to reproduce the error, but not able to isolate it. Also they wrote that “Maybe can be a problem with the charts” and “it could be a bug in LV 6.0.2 which is fixed in LV 6.1”.
They saved my VI as a 6
.1 version and there were no problems (any error).
The problem is:
“ LV 6.1 is the next release (newest version) of LV and it will be released this year (the date is not fixed). That's not an update like LV 6.0.2 but a new version of LV. It must be purchased”
So I have a trouble here. I have some VIs that contains some parts in common. Now they are crashing too. I’m not confident anymore to make tests and modifications, since LV will crash again. What I’m doing after run my VI is exiting LV and open the VI again. Only after I can realize (and save) the modifications. This way is really a pain in a neck....
Please, can someone tell me a good way to isolate this problem or to solve it? I really don’t want to wait LV 6.1 nether to buy it to solve this “bug”....
Thank you in advance
Rodolfo

LV 6.0.2Dear LV users
Sorry for not have included the VI.
"test time save format.vi" is a learning program that contains some ideas to be used in another one. The error (fpsane.cpp) that appears here also was detected in LV 6. On the first time after grouping/edit some controls.
This error occurs when you modify the VI and try to save it. Often you run it once and save it without problem. When you modify it again and try to save it, the error appears. This is the same problem that happened with 2 other VI, even with one LV original example (after grouping).
The same error happened in another computer (also running NT4). All libraries were rebuilt during the installation of LV 6.02 and the TEMP directory is empty.
I hope that this vi will help us.
Thanks ag
ain
Rodolfo

TS2972 can I use home sharing to transfer iTunes from old computer to new computer?
can I use home sharing to transfer iTunes from old computer to new computer?
You are trying to use home sharing, you are logged into the same account for sharing on both computers (and they are connected to the same wifi network), and what happens when you try to copy your library ? Can you update your iTunes so that they are the same on both ?

CME - Shared line status indicator
Ive seen several different installs of CCME at different retail stores that I visit. Both stores use CCME (which I am sure of). Both installs (seperate and unrelated to each other) have a key-system structure where there are 7960Gs that have their buttons mapped to a unique extension as well as 4 shared DNs that allow any phone to pickup any line. The interesting part, however is that at one store when a line is in use, all of the other phones show the line icon for the shared DN as a phone with the handset on-hook and a flashing "X". However, at another location, also Running CME, with a very similar setup, the shared lines show the remote-in-use icon (dual handsets) for lines in use. Is this just a matter of the version of CCME that they are running?
I was just curious as to whether this has something to do with the configuration or simply the version of CME that is used. Ive looked around the cisco site and have found very little information regarding line status icons and cisco CME. There is a brief mention in the guide for the 7914.
Just wondering
barskyYup, you were definitely correct with the firmware being the culprit! the systems vary quite a bit in age. One one the phones are running load 3.5 and on the other they are running 8.5.
Either way, thanks a lot for the suggestion and helping me deal with my curiosity!
best regards,

I just got a MacBook Pro and I used Home Sharing to transfer my library from my PC. However, my PC's battery died in the middle of the process so only half of my music was transferred. The sharing option no longer shows up on the left. Do I need to start completely over and delete the content in my new library to prevent duplicates or is there a way to continue the process?

Shared Lines and Line Group in 8.6.2.22900-9
We have some IP Communicator (SCCP) 8.6.14 and 7911 running SCCP11.9-2-3ES4S
We notice that sometimes when put this version of IP Communicator in a Line Group it does not ring. The desk phone will ring fine, and a IP Communicator running 7.0.3.3 will run fine.
Is this a known issue with CIPC 8.6.14 ?
Shared Lines and Line Group in 8.6.2.22900-9I neglected, this is a VMWare on UCS ... memory/HDD/CPU is all in spec.

My husband and I both have iPods but we don't want to same music on them. Really we would like to have two separate iTunes, so that I don't get his music and he doesn't get mine. Is that possible or do we just have to manually sync them?
