Shared Outlook Addressbook Contacts not displaying

We have a shared Exchange addressbook with distribution email groups.
When someone connects to the shared addressbook, composes an email to a group, the email distribution list is empty.
In troubleshooting, I noticed that when we expand the distribution list to view the recipients, most of the recipients are missing and only semicolons appear.
Further troubleshooting, I notice that when I open the distribution list with my Outlook client and click on the Update Now icon, and then go to create the email then when I expand the group the email addresses now appear.
Now, my Outlook profile is a cached profile.  The shared contact list that I pulled the distribution list from is an online/non-cached shared contact list.
What I also found is that if I switched my Outlook client to be online only(not cached) the share address book lists appear properly when expanded.
Is there any way to make this list appear correctly without having to click on update now for each and every distribution list in the shared contacts list we have on the server?
I would really prefer that every time one wants to use this shared contact list, they do not have o click the update not button or switch from cached mode to make this work.
T.I.A
Thanks in Advance!

Hi,
I noticed that the issue didn't happen when you were using Outlook in Online mode. Please also check whether the issue happens in OWA.
If OWA works well and the issue only happens in Outlook Cached mode for some users not all users, we can do the following steps in Outlook to download Offline Address Book to check whether the issue persists:
1. Delete the *.oab files in the following folders in local machine:
     \Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\Offline Address Books
2. Create a new Outlook profile that uses Cached Exchange Mode.
3. Start Outlook 2010 with this new profile.
4. In the ribbon click Send / Receive, click
Send/Receive Groups and then click Download Address Book.
Thanks,
Winnie Liang

  • Outlook 2007 Contact Notes not showing up on BlackBerry. HELP Please!

Using BB Desktop Manager 4.5. I have about 75 contacts with notes in the notes field in Outlook 2007 Contacts. I looked at the mapping fields in the Address Book and I do not see one for the NOTES field in Outlook 2007. I have checked the transfer all items and have set the Outlook for the Conflict decider. I see that the address and phone numbers get updated, but there are no notes...

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
From your message, I assume you are synching via USB tether rather than OWA (BES). As such, I think the core of your issue is that the Notes field is, as you found, not mapped. To synch to your BB, it must be mapped. This article, while for an older DM version, discusses the manual mapping process:
    http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/microsites/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=KB03938&slic...
I cannot say if those instructions, however, are accurate -- I am on BES and as such never have to sync via USB. You can also try searching that knowledgebase for some better information. Hopefully this will help or someone with better DM knowledge will chime in with better details for you.

  • Outlook 2010 contacts not showing phone number in Lync 2013 client

    Hi,
We have Lync 2013 with Exchange 2010. Recently we started upgrading Lync clients from 2010 to 2013.
A few users started reporting that their local Outlook contacts does not show phone numbers in Lync 2013 (working with 2010)
I have installed the august patch which should solve this issue
981751 - Lync 2013 does not display telephone number of an Outlook 2010 contact in the contact card
Any idea where to look next?

    Hi Tobias Borgen Nielsen,
Lync expects all the phone numbers to be in the E.164 format, meaning they should be +1-111-11111111 etc. If they’re not like this, you will have to normalize them if you want Lync
    to publish them.

  • Spouse, Children fields from Outlook - syncing, but not displayed

I discovered something rather curious, and am wondering if anyone has any more information about this.
I use the Children and Spouse fields in my Outlook records. When I sync to iPhone, these fields are not shown. However, if I choose to "share a contact", it sends a vCard, which does include these fields! So the iPhone is clearly copying it over, but not displaying it? What's the point of that? I can understand a reluctance to make some fields uneditable, but storing them without displaying them?
Also of note: the vCard does not include the Anniversary field, even though it does sync this and includes other fields in the vCard like Birthday. That looks like a bug to me. Anyone care to confirm?
    Thanks,
    Keith

    Hi,
It depends what you require...suppose in the multiprovider you want the filed from the ODS then you should select the fiel from the ODS but if you want the filed to get the value from the navigational attribute then you should go fro the navigation attribute in the options.
Navigation attribute will show up in the left if you have made them navigation in the cube as well.
identification gives you an option to map the the multiprovoder fileds with the fields of the underlying infoproviders.....if you go for create recoomendations then it will chose the optimal mapping that is one to one mapping.....A to A etc...but in certain case you want A to map to B such as in sone cases shipt-to-party can take data from sold-to-party....depends upon the requirement.
The options in the left gives you the char which will show up in the query and by selecting the char from the right from different inforproviders you actually defeine which filed from the infoproviders it should take data from.
So just make sure that all the fields in the right which are going to show up in the query should get have the identiication from the different infoproviders and there respective char....a navigation mapped to a navigation....and a direct char to a direct char from the infoprovider.
    Hope it explains.
    Thanks

  • Ipad contacts not displaying all fields from mac address book, ipad contacts not displaying all fields from mac address book

After syncing mac address book to ipad contacts, the ipad does not display all the fields that were in Mac address book (in my case all the email addresses).  Anyone have a fix?

I have a problem similar to DeeRun's.. I would like the IM fields to be synced.. I use them to send e-mails to when the e-mail field is empty or when i just want to use that specific address.. Very annoying, would take hours if not days to transfer all those IM adresses to e-mail fields in addressbook..
EDIT: not to mention the mess it would make in my address book!

  • Floating fields and fragment subforms in Outlook 2007 do not display correctly

I'm using LCES Forms 8.0 Update 1 to render a non-interactive HTML forms using dynamic content (customer info). The email appears ok in clients except in Outlook 2007.
The Floating text and Text Fields appear multiple times on the form (scattered around their placement point on the form) and the subform fragments are appearing with borders surrounding them.
I have heard that there are issues with Outlook 2007 not displaying HTML correctly. Is there a way to setup the Text Fields/Subforms in Designer so they display correctly in Outlook 2007?
    Thanks!

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
See "Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile":
There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.
If the new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

  • Contacts not displaying properly in video iPod, need help

My contacts do not display properly on my video iPod. The phone numbers sometimes have dashes and sometimes do not in the iPod but the phone numbers always have the dashes in my address book on my G4 desktop. Example: iPod 555 555 1212 or 5555551212 or 555-555-1212
address book 555-555-1212 (always has the dashes)
I want the Ipod to display the way it looks in the address book, always using the dashes. I am total type A and it drives me crazy when they are not all the same!
    I have iTunes 7 on a MDD G4 running 10.4
    Thanks!

    hi,
By default Messages should grab info from the Address Card in the Contacts app even if the iCloud option is not checked (and then syncing with other computers and iOS devices that are also set to sync this way).
However the Contacts App does need to be opened and have the Preferences > Accounts checked to see it is using a Valid Account.
The Address Cards need to list iMessages and possibly AIM and Jabber ID info as well.
Next you need to check the View Menu in Messages.
The Buddy Name option only used to work in Buddy List but now seems to also effect the main Messages window.  (So you can change it here to Handle, which is ID or Screen Name).
Lower down is the option to display Names, Pictures or Name and Pictures next to people in the Chats.

  • IPad Apps File Sharing in iTunes - files not displaying

Are you not supposed to be able to copy files to and from your computer/iPad for apps that support File Sharing in iTunes? When I open iTunes, connect iPad, click on the Apps, scroll below to File Sharing, the files on my iPad for the apps listed do not display; ie: Pages documents, Numbers documents, etc. I am running a Windows XP computer. I'm quite certain they were showing up there a few weeks ago.

You have to tell the iPad to send it to iTunes.
Open the document you want. Tap the spanner icon. Click Send to iTunes.
Now go to iTunes, find the iPad in the left hand pane, click Apps at the top, go to the bottom of the page, select pages in the box under 'File Sharing', and you will see that document there.
Pointless feature but there you go.

  • Outlook 2010 ThumbnailPhoto not displayed for local contacts

    Hello,
I'm running Exchange 2010 SP2 with Outlook 2010 clients.  We are running Lync 2010 and have been using the thumbnail photos for some time now.  However, we've found an issue with images showing consistently in Outlook 2010 and are hoping there
is an easy fix for this.
    1. The user has a smartphone and decides to search the GAL for a user from the smartphone and then "add to contacts" from there.  This adds the contact to the users Outlook contacts WITHOUT the image.  From this point on the user won't see that
    contact's thumbnail photo in emails.
    2. Lync automatically adds "frequent contacts" into the users contact folder WITHOUT the thumpnail photo. From this point on the user won't see that contact's image in emails.
    3. A user who is working offline decides to copy a contact from the OAB to their local contacts.  From this point on the user won't see that contact's thumbnail photo in emails.
The fix for this is to have the user delete the contacts without thumbnails from their contacts folder and then re-add them from the GAL while connected to AD (i.e. NOT from their smartphone).  This isn't a great solution and I'm hoping there is an
    easier way to manage this.
    Thanks for your help!
    --Shaun

    Hi  ,
In fact, we upload pictures to Active Directory using the
Import-RecipientDataProperty cmdlet. By default, thumbnailPhoto is included in the OAB as an Indicator attribute. This means the value of the attribute isn't copied to the OAB— instead, it simply
indicates the client should get the value from Active Directory. If an Outlook client (including Outlook Anywhere clients connected to Exchange using HTTPS) can access Active Directory, the thumbnail will be downloaded and displayed. When offline, no thumbnail
    downloads.
And please check the if lync client chosen Default corporate picture .

  • Some contacts not displaying but are in call history and on Whats App

I think this happened after upgrading to iOS 6, but some contacts which were on my phone are no longer displaying in 'My Contacts' however when I type the number in manually they appear. They are also listed in my Whatsapp contacts so I know they are no my phone.
I have also tried checking for them on iCloud.com however they are not there either. I have also gone to contacts Groups to make sure it says display all contacts which it does.
The biggest question here is I had this problem on my 3Gs and have just got the iPhone 5 and the same issue has happened here?!?!
    REALLY STUCK HERE, HELP PLEASE!!!!

Problem solved.  When a contact is added on your iPhone, it doesn't necessarily go into iCloud contacts.  They can go under contacts for any email you have on your phone if you have "contacts" toggled "on" under settings.  Backup your phone. Then restore your phone to an old backup from prior to having problems.  After that, turn off iCloud contacts on your phone, and delete them from your phone when asked.  Look to see what contacts remain on your phone and add those to your iCloud.  If you have a Mac computer, just email them to yourself when you go under each one and hit "share contact."  Then, on your Mac, open the email and click on the ".vcf" attachment and it should put it right into your iCloud contacts.  Then you can restore your iPhone back to your original backup.  Go under your "Mail, Contacts and Calendars" settings and turn off your contacts for any other emails if you want to (not sure if you will have duplicate contacts if you don't).
Don't forget to make sure iCloud contacts are "on" when you are done- it may take a while for all the contacts to get back on your phone- I shut my phone off and restarted it also.
    Good Luck!

  • 6680 Firmware update: Contacts not displayed on ph...

Hi, I upgraded my 6680 withe Nokia Software Updater. Before updating my phone I successfully carried out a full back up of the phone and the 64Mb memory card installed in the phone. I used PC Suite 6.8.13.0 to carry out the backup (it used Content Copier v3.0 that is part of PC Suite). The software update completed successfully. I then Restored the phone from my full backup. This appeared to complete successfully. When I attempted to verify the information on the phone I noticed the following: 1. All data, including custom settings (but not 3rd party applications that I had installed) and all messages were restored to the phone. 2. The Contacts are empty on the phone. I then tried the following on the phone: Contacts / Options / Copy - From memory card. This results in no data being copied from the memory card (I do not belive that the contact dats is on the memory card anyway). 3. I have noticed that using the Nokia Phone Browser in Windows Explorer (Windows XP SP2) that I can see all my contacts in the Contacts section. This indicates to me that the contact data is on the phone. I repeated the restore from full back up process and it had exactly the same results. I then tried backup my Phone memory to the 64Mb card with the following thought - if the contact data is on the Phone in Phone memory, and I back it up to the memory card, then I may be able to try restoring the Phone memory from the card and see the contacts again. I was able to successfully back up the Phone memory to the card. I restored the phone from the backup on the card and it completed with a reboot. There is still no contact data visible in the Contact on the phone BUT they are still visible through Windows Explorer/Nokia Phone Browser. I then tried to go to Contacts on the Phone and choose Copy / From memory card. Again there were no contacts to restore (despite the allegedly successful Phone memory backup) and the Contacts on my phone is still empty. Additional information: I do NOT syncronise my Contacts with any application such as Outlook/Lotus Notes etc. This is becomming the straw that will break the camel's back - unless I can get my phone to function the way it should I will NEVER go near another Nokia product again - and ensure that none of may family do either. Any help is greatly appreciated. Regards, Martin

Hey, I can second this! Just upgraded the firmware to V4.04.07 on my 6680 and I have also lost visibility of all my contacts. They are however showing in Nokia PC Suite Contacts section when phone is connected. (PC Suite v6.81.130) I did a full back-up of the phone before upgrading fimware, and then tried to restore afterwards. Initially I had problems restoring and it would freeze after 'messages' but eventually after a couple of attempts it made it to 100percent restored. All data seems to have been restored to the phone ok and everything functions (including tomtom) apart from the contacts. I can even sync my 6680 with Lotus Notes for calendar, to-do etc. ok. The contacts were originally stored on the phone for the extra fucntionality as mentioned by martin above. I have tried copying from Memory Card SIM within the phone and it says there are 0 records, I have tried to sync (update button) the PC Suite with the phone and as mentioned previously this does nothing and returns the error ' The syncronisation has been terminated '. I checked the folder C:\Documents and Settings\user name\Phone Browser\Contacts and there were no VCF files in there at all. I also have the PCsync installed (auto-installed when using PC Suite to read messages on phone) and it made no difference before or after. I have tried adding a contact onto both phone and PC suite and neither will sync to the other, with same error as above. I have destoyed the log as described in C:\Documents and Settings\user name\Application Data\Nokia\PCSync\SynchData and this also made no difference. I am loathed to try the full reset (*#7370#) on the phone as described previously bearing in mind the problems this seems to cause! Did you get past the lock code martin? If I put in new contacts manually into the phone they are saved and work ok - don't fancy doing that over 160 times to re-populate the phone! This is all very dissapointing and not expected of Nokia...strange thing is one of my colleagues has updated several of these phones and never experienced a problem, but this is obviously not unique as a couple of us have raised the point now. Help would be greatly appreciated... Craig (PS format has gone to pot...i did remember to use ENTER!)

  • OVI truncated many of my Outlook 2007 Contacts not...

I normally use PC Suite, but had to use OVI find out which Maps have been loaded on my cell. It then inadvertently synced OVI with my E72.
Now ALL notes inside Contacts have been truncated to appr 128 characters. Everything just lost on both Outlook and my E72!
I see in previous posts that this problem has been reported as early as last year (2009).

    Hi to all,
may be, it helps to avoid deleting data in your smart phone and outlook:
please be aware: pc suite as well as ovi is cutting the notices of the outlook contacts.
they cannot handle the notices of the contacts, if they are greater than appr. 1024 bytes.
I was in contact with nokia last year. They gave me a copy&paste answer, that they are in contact with their developers. I found, they did nothing to fix this bug, to switch off or to show, what are going to be edited, and they interited this bug into ovi too.
May be, That's also the reason, why their shares falling and why I sold my nokia shares and buyed a windows mobile phone, because they can handle it. I still have my n95 and I do not touch (not edit, only access to the notices via searching function) notices of the contacts.
    good luck!

  • VZ Messages contacts not displaying

When I receive a message from one of my contacts the notification on the lock screen shows the message with the sender's number but does not show the name.  When I open the VZ Messages app the contact names show properly.  How do I get the lock screen VZ Messages notifications to display the name?

We want you to use the app that fits your needs best, DerekU. The native application Ada had suggested is what generally controls the notifications on your phone and will display any contact names you have on your phone. If you're using Verizon Messages, the contacts may only show the name if they were synced with Backup Assistant instead of iTunes/iCloud or another 3rd party option. If you go into www.vzw.com/verizonmessages, do you see the contact names or the numbers in your message list?
