Shared photostream disappeared

Hi all!
I have a serious problem with a shared photo stream. I have 9 shared photo streams in total, all have been working well except one for the last week.
This particular stream is shared with about 8 people, and everyone is able to add pictures to the stream. All of a sudden, without any changes that I know of from my part, pictures that I upload are not visible to others. In fact, the stream has disappeared from their devices! This goes for all subscribers. I tried to re-invite, no success. I turned shared photo streams off in iPhoto in my Mac, and when I turned it on again, this particular stream is gone.
On my iPhone it it still there, and I'm able to upload pictures to it, but no on else can see them. I'm a bit worried to fiddle with it as it contains pictures dating from mid 2013 that are precious to me.
Any ideas to solution would be most appreciated!
Thanks
Magnus

  • How long do shared PhotoStreams stay published?

I realize that PhotoStream saves up to 1,000 photos and 30 days worth of images. What about Shared PhotoStreams? Will they just disappear after 30 days? And, do shared photos count against the 1,000 photo limit?

I actually found the FAQ for Shared Photo Streams and the answer is:
    Do shared streams ever expire?
No. Shared streams are removed from iCloud only if you delete the photo stream.

  • Shared Photostream Sync Problems - HELP!

    Hi - I have an iphone 4 with ios6.
I have set up several shared photostreams and added photos to these and invited subscribers. All that seemed fine, but here's the problems I've experienced and would be interested to know if this is a common/known issue:
    1) On one photostream, I have added 187 photos and on the device I added the photos from, I can see all 187 photos. However subscribers can only see 99 of the photos. I looked on my iPad, and I too can only see 99 photos on that device. So...... I deleted the photos and re-added. This time I can see the 187 photos on the source device, and subscribers can only see 129! Is there a known issue with syncing of photos through to a shared photostream.
    2) On a second photostream, I added 35 photos. Subscribers could see all photos, as could I on all devices. One hour later, the photostream is empty on my source device and for all subscribers.
    3) A friend added me as a subscriber to a photostream of his. I cannot see of the photos despite other subscribers seeing them.
    4) Lastly, I deleted one shared stream and started again, but yet again, subscribers can only see a portion of what I have added.
    Any advice?
    Thanks

okay, i went to take a band off my itouch, when you do that you click the box where the check is and it will disappear that way when you sync it will take that particular artist off your itouch. but when i do that it still stays on my itouch.
That will only remove the song(s) if you have the *Sync all checked songs and videos* option enabled from under the iPod's Summary tab.

    CREATE A NEW USER
Go to System Preferences --> Create a New User in Users & Groups
Decide on whether to setup as Admin or Standard User.
Switch to the New User by logging out under the Apple in the Menu Bar or use Fast User Switching
Fast User Switching allows other users to leave current applications and windows open. Depending on RAM, you might need to log out rather than use FUS.

  • Can I create a shared photostream from my pc?

I know I can upload photos from my PC to My Photostream, but I want to create a Shared Photostream (album) with photos from my PC.  It seems I cannot create an individual Shared Photostream album on my PC, and upload pictures to it.  I can only create a Shared Photostream from my iPhone, and upload photos to it from my iPhone.  Am I doing something wrong?
The problem with My Photostream is the photos there will get bumped in time, with pictures taken by my iPhone.  I want to keep the photos in a Shared Photostream (album) so as to play them on my Apple TV.
    What can I do?
    Thanks!!!

Thanks so much.  I clicked the New photo stream link at the top and was able to make an album of photos to display on my Apple TV, just as desired.  Only problem now is that the Random Theme selection in Apple TV does not rotate amongst the various themes, it just sticks on one, unlike the Random Theme selection in Ken Burns or Classic selection choices at the bottom of the list which does rotate.  If you know anything about this, please let me know.  Meanwhile thanks again to set me straight on the first tip!

  • With ios 7 how can I add videos from a shared photostream to my camera roll?

When I am viewing a shared photostream that I subscribe to I am able to select photos and add them to my camera roll (essentially saving someone's shared photos to my device).  Now that you can add videos to shared photostreams with ios 7 I was hoping to be able to do the same with videos.  However, when I view a shared vieo and attempt to save it to my camera roll it is not an option.  Any ideas on how to do this?

  • HT201077 As of recently any photos I add to a shared photostream will not update for others. Only I can see them. How come others sharing this photo stream are not getting the new photos?

As of recently any photos I add to a shared photostream will not update for others and I don't see the updated photos on my other devices. Only I can see them from the device that i've posted from. How come others sharing this photostream are no longer getting the new photos? My iphone (the device i'm adding from) shows 20 pictures in this shared photostream and yet 4 other people that I share this photostream album with and my ipad only show 12 photos. For the past week I keep adding photos thinking people will see them but it just won't update the new ones. Any ideas how to fix this?

You can stop new photos being automatically added to Photostream in iPhoto from iPhoto preferences > Photostream.

  • Sharing Photostreams in iPhoto 9.4 not working

iPhoto used to be so simple. Now, with Albums, Events, Photos, Journals, Photostreams etc it's all becoming a bit of a dog's breakfast. All I want to do is to share some photos with my family.
So I use the new Photostream sharing facility in iPhoto 9.4. I follow the instructions to the letter: Select Photos>Click Share> Choose Photstream from the pop-up>then New Photostream>then email addresses>then click Share. But the new shared Photostream is empty and I end up sending an email to my family inviting them to subscribe to an empty Photostream. What's going on? Is anyone else getting this problem? Should I be doing something clever that Apple hasn't yet told me about?
    Grateful for any help.

I had a reply from iPhoto Support which said the following:
Under the Apple menu [], select System Preferences and click on the iCloud icon.
    Turn off Photo Stream.
Go to iPhoto, click Photo Stream on the sidebar and click "Turn on Photo Stream".
This was supposed to clear the problem. Sadly, for me at least, it hasn't. Now, I can create a shared Photostream and share it with myself, but it's empty and, now, it doesn't even share itself with me. :-(

  • TS3989 How do you  add more people to a shared photostream in iCloud

I have set up a shared photostream and a couple of people have access . I want to expand the access to more people - how do I do this without deleting the photostream and starting again?

    Dear Tildeline,
The above answer was for the iPad.
To add/delete people or delete the stream on your iPhone, tap on the little blue arrow on the right side of your photostream, in the photostream overview tab within the Photos app (do not go inside the stream).

  • How do I save photo's from a shared photostream that I have subscribed to, to my PC?

I was invited to subscribe to a shared photostream, I can now access these pictures on my iPhone. I want to save all of these pictures on my PC, is there an easy way of doing this?
I expected to see these pictures in my 'Photo Stream' folder on my PC under the 'Shared' folder.
There are about 900 pictures, will it take some time for these to appear?
    Any pointers/help would be appreciated,
    Thanks.

Hey there, i made this mistake also what your doing is looking in the Photostream Viewer found in (Other Drives) section of Computer. If you look in the Photostream folder (Mine is located in the Pictures Library) you will find a folder labeled shared.
Photostream folder location is set in the iCloud Settings under Control Panel. Photostream options button.
    Hope this helps.

  • How to reorder a shared photostream?

I made an Aperture project and shared it via an iCloud photostream. Then I decided to edit the original of one of the pictures, and at the bottom of the window Aperture gratifyingly claimed to be updating my shared photostream. Only thing is, it didn't. So I deleted the photo from the shared stream and reimported the edited version. Now  in the shared photostream it is out of order (has come in at the end) and I can find no way to edit the order of the photos on the shared stream in order to put the order back as it was.

You cannot reorder the photos in the stream. They will always show in the order they have been added to the stream.
You can only copy the photos out of the stream to an event, delete the photos from the stream, then add them again in the sequence you want. I would not do that, however, if I am sharing the stream with other parties, because it will create a lot of network traffic, and your friends may not want to have to download all photos again.

  • Image quality in shared photostream

    Hello,
I started to use iCloud photo library which works fine and I have all the photos in iCloud in original quality (at least at seems like so to me).
But when I start a shared photostream and put the photos there and I open it on my Mac in new app Photo, what quality do have these images?
The reason I am asking it is because I take many pictures and chosen one I store to shared photostream. And time from time I would like to save them to my HDD and store them in original quality.
Thank you for clearing this question.

    Really nobody?

  • Home sharing icon disappears on PC and Mac

In my house, we've been using home sharing between a PC (Windows 7), a Mac (OS X 10.8.2), and two iPad 2s with no issues for several months.  It was working as recently as 23 Dec 12. Now, two days later, it is not working on the PC or the Mac, but it is still working on the iPads.  When we turn home sharing on, the home sharing icon shows in the sidebar, but as soon as we put in the login and password and click "Done," the home sharing icon disappears.  The Mac and PC are linked up, as we can see the shared library in the "Finder" on the Mac, but it is inaccessible from iTunes.
We've tried all the trouble-shooting we can find online, including disabling the IPv6 on the PC, but still nothing.  Any suggestions  to get this working again would be appreciated!

How do you access the HD from both Mac and PC?
I do this but only by network not direct hookup.
If you are plugging the HD into one or the other I may have a solution for you.
I have all my photos in folders organized the way I want them.
Then I set iPhoto to NOT import the files when I add them.
Preferences > Advanced > make sure the selection of "Importing: Copy items to the iPhoto Library" is not selected.
That way the photos (files) will stay where you put them and the data in iPhoto will still organize and do it's thing on them.
And if you modify a photo with say Photoshop the new file seems to automatically update in the preview of iPhoto.
    Works great for me.
Here is what I have been doing...
    1. When I got my MAC, I copied all of my pictures from my PC onto a portable HD (WD passport).
    2. Then I attached it to the MAC and used iPhoto.
    3. I added new photos only to the passport HD and edited them in iPhoto.
What I was _planning / hoping_ to do is move those photos back to the PC for use in other applcations. But apparently the editted photos aren't on the HD anyway, but on the MAC (in the iPhoto library.)
But I understand that using a referenced library is not a great idea.
(Also, initially I did copy some photos into iPhoto and apparently having a both managed AND a referenced set of files is DOUBLY bad!)
So what I need to do now is fix whatever I "broke" and get a plan to go forward!

  • Missing thumbnails in shared photostreams

On an iMac running latest Mavericks, this is the home of my photo library and this is where I create shared photostreams. When I go into those shared photostreams, most of the thumbnails are missing. Only the ones from after December 23 appear; that coincides with when I installed Yosemite and then reverted to Mavericks using a fresh Time Machine backup. I can double-click the empty box and get the image, and I can right-click and select "find in library" so it certainly knows what image is supposed to be there and actually has it.
None of the options in the repair menu (repair thumbnails, etc.) have had any effect whatsoever. The images all show on our devices so it seems the cloud part is OK; the problem appears to be just within the Mac.
I'm pretty sure I could just recreate them all but that is a PITA in several ways, both for me to figure out which ones they are and also for the subscribers to get a whole new version of the same album(s). Clearly this is broken somehow. Any idea how I can fix it?

    Try the following:
Disable Photo Stream in the System/iCloud preference pane
and Photo Sharing in iPhoto's iCloud preference pane.
Reboot and reenable both respectively. See if that will jump start Photo Sharing and Shared Photo Streams..
