Shared Repository without NWDI / DTR

Hello!
We use Visual Composer 7.1.
Is it possible to transfer Visual Composer models to the Shared Repository without DTR or NWDI?
Thanks, Thomas

Hi Thomas,
The way to transfer components from the Local Repository to the Shared Repository is the same as the way to work with DTR.
(right click on the model/DC in the Local Repository --> add to source control)
Just to avoid confusion in terminology, "source control" is the general definition. Both DTR and Shared Repository can be source control, depends on system's configuration.
In your case, Shared Repository serves as source control.

  • E-commerce using NWDS without NWDI

    Good day!
I must develop (in fact, just custom) an e-commerce application using NWDS. Unfortunately, there is no NWDI available to this project. Is it possible to deploy the application under such condition? In afirmative case, what would be the major drawbacks of such approach?
    Thanks in advance,
    Diego

    Hi Diego,
Yes can create and deploy your project or DC without NWDI. YOu can just create projects or in case you are creating DCs you can do so in "LocalDevelopment" Development Configuration.
Drawback is that you cannot do shared development. With NWDI you get a repository (DTR)  where you can create your DCs and your teammate can also modify that. Also NWDI provides CBS and CMS for Component Build Service and Change Management Service. YOu will not be able use these.
CBS builds components and their dependants on demand and provides ready-to-use libraries
and deployables for developers and runtime systems.
CMS is responsible for the transport of software within the landscape,
    including source code and libraries.
In case you still want to do shared development you can download open source plugins like subclipse(sub version repository). Install the plugin and you can share the code for modification.
    Hope this answers your question.
    Regards
    Pankaj

  • Delete development components from shared repository

We have some test models in the shared repository that need to be cleaned up.  In visual composer, how can you delete development components from the shared repository?

    Hi,
it is possible to delete a whole DC from DTR by commands:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/43/cf7e3f15e60a98e10000000a1553f6/frameset.htm
Deletion of single models falls out of official support.

  • Migration of Shared Repository

    Hey,
    one more....
My current setup is just a temporary solution.
I will get new (more powerfull) hardware for my ovm cluster.
But the machines and templates created so far in the shared repository (Netapp LUN) need to be saved !!
Can you point me to a document or explain to me how to register "old repository" to the new servers ?
Which steps need to be done on oracle vm server ?
    Christian

    Hi Christian,
oh I did not know how you want to "move" the servers, I was under the impression you are changing all the hardware (including the storage)l. In your case:
    Oracle VM Server:
If you stay on the same storage system adding new servers and removing the old ones is perfect. This would even allow you to "Live Migrate" the guest systems to the new hardware without any downtime.
Since the server pool per se is not changed (just the server members) no import is needed.
    Oracle VM Manager:
First of, if you change the manager or power the manager off, there is no need to shut down the VM Servers. Just let them running.
Moving the VM Manager repository can be done in different steps. While a full image and putting it on a new computer will work, you could also use the backup mechanism to backup "just" the repository (which is more or less an export of the OVS schema), install your new manager computer fresh and reimport the OVS backup/OVS export. This might be especially usefull, if you think your image won't be 100% accurate because of hardware changes.

  • NWDI DTR issue

    Hello Expert,
I have configured NWDS and can connect to NWDI. We have created seperate track for ISA project.
I can see below items in repository browser of DTR.
    1. sap.com_CUSTRMPRJ
    2. sap.com_SAP-CRMAPP
    3. sap.com_SAP-CRMWEB
    4. sap.com_SAP-SHRWEB
    5. sap.com_SAP-SHRAPP
Could you please explain me above structure and which one should i user to sync files for development. I can see my project related files in the 5th one.
I would highly appreciate your help.
    Thanks,
    Shubhangi

    Hi Shubhangi,
If you want to develop something at your track from the NWDS you must move to the Development Configuration Perspective and from it select the Inactive Tab.
In there you will see the DCs of the SC and you can develop over this subtracks.
If you have any concern please let me know. Regards,

  • How to search a folder or a repository without using index service

    Hi,
I want to get a count of all feedbacks (stored under /collaboration/feedback) created on a particular date. Since there are many sub folders, I am not able to use ICollection.
How can I read a folder or a repository without using IndexService.
    Thanks in advance
    Vidya

    Hi SRIVIDHYA RAGHUNATH
I dont understand how can't use ICollection. What you want can be do it coding. The TREX and the Index search it works just to search on content.
I think what you have to do if Iterate on a IResource Object  and the see if it is a file or a folder and keepp iterating, then when is a file, convert to an objects where you can get the feedback and count it.
    Hope its help
    Bye.

  • Load repository without (TCP/IP) port binding?

    Hello all,
According to the MDM100 course, it is possible to load repositories without port binding (for port flip-over). But how do I do this?
When I try to erase the port number of the (unloaded) repository, a message informs me that a port number between 2000 and 9999 is required.
Is this option gone in SP05?
    Kind regards,
    Dennis klemann

    Hi Charan,
You're right for typical use, but I'm working on a high availability scenario. Basically, it should be possible to load a slave repository without port binding. In case the master repository fails, the slave can immediately take over (by assigning the port of the master), at least in read-only mode - but better than nothing and external applications don't have to be reconfigured.
When the master repository is up again, it can take over the port.
For bigger installations, a clustering system is probably better suited, though...
    Kind regards,
    Dennis

  • Add shared disks without shutdown vm

    Hi all,
we have a Pc with VMWare 2 and two VMS with
Oracle 10g on RAC and CentOS 4.7 . There are two nodes (or vms): rac1 and rac2.
Each VM has shared SCSI disks.
Is there any way to add shared disks without shutdown the VMs?
    thank you.

    Well,
    Look the link:
    http://www.vmware.com/support/ws5/doc/ws_disk_add_virtual.html
    You must shutdown the instance.
but in your case, I dont know, maybe shutdown one VM, add the disk, and restart.
So, shutdown other vm, add the same disk, and restart. After, you can add the disk to disk group
    if you are using ASM.
Please, correct me if I'm wrong.
    Cheers

  • Archieving Repository without data

    Hi Gurus,
Is there a way to achieve and unarchieve Repository without data .  I know we can export repository schema.
    Regards
    Bala Pochareddy

    Hi,
While archiving, in the "Archive MDM Repository" pop-up, click on "Options" button and select "Schema only".
When you unarchive this, you will get a repository with only schema - no data.

  • How to modify ESS/MSS iviews without NWDI

    Hi Everybody,
The last couple of day's I have been searching the forums to find an answer to the above mentioned question. Is there a way to modify the ess/mss iviews without NWDI?
I have tried allmost anything I could think off... Unzip the files and import the files manualy into nwds etc...
After while I saw a posting that SCA files could be imported in the latest version of NWDS, I was able to import the SCA files of SAP into NWDS 7.1, but I am not able to create a project out of them. Probably this will also lead to issues when uploading the newly build sca files into portal 7.0.
    Can anyone help me?
    Thanks in advance.
    Kind regards,
    Xander

    Hi Xander,
Some time ago I had the same question as you and as you I tried several things to load the SCA file to NWDS but after several tests it was loaded but without the screens.
I was able to create the project but it was missing many things when I tried to compile the project,  the reason for this is that the ESS Package has a dependency in other SC as specified in the SAP Note 872892 - JDI/NWDI Cookbook for ESS/XSS (NWDI.zip File).
When you have all the dependencies (SCA files) it is a bout 700 MB which is a lot to load locally and figuring out exactly what you need  will take a long time so at the end I could not use any trick to avoid the use NWDI as I only had to do 1 change to 1 DC ess/ca/padata so installing NWDI was an overhead for that only change, but at the end I have to do it.
I found the same posting as you and it seems NWDI 7.1 has the feature to do exactly what we needed.
But if you want to modify just the iviews as you are mentioning in your post you can do this straight in EP Content after copying your own content from the SAP standard content to do your modifications.
    Best regards,
    Juan Jose

  • NWDI DTR ( Design Time Repository ) for use with XI

I know many people use CMS to do their XI transports - but is anyone using DTR for version control of XI objects?  Any information would be much appreciated.

    hi,
I have done in installing CMS without DTR, CBS,  so maybe they are for managing of version of java sources.
if you are planning to manage java source like ejb, you may need to configure DTR, CBS during installing CMS.
    thanks
