What version are you on?
Have you externalised your users successfully?
If this is a new install could you maybe try and create a new Essbase.sec file?

I am trying to install hyperion financial management and for this i already installed the following on windows 2003 server:
1. Installed Oracle application server
2. Oracle Database
3. IIS Web Server
4. Installed Hyperion shared services
5. Configured shared services without errors
After that i launched shared services page by http://orixacc:7777/shared
i got the page with the following errors
SEVERE ERROR: The Hyperion Shared Services database is not configured correctly. Please contact your system administrator
If anybody can help me to solve this problem, i will be thankful.
During confguration there was no error at all.

I am having trouble after install hyperion 9.3 and configure Shared service i am not able to get into user directories. its look like hanged , i check the log and css.xml files they look fine, here are the detail.

I have been trying to configure Hyperion Shared Services 9.3.1 with Weblogic Ver 9.2
During configuration of the Database and the Application Server, I select Manual Configuration option on Weblogic 9
However, it returns a configuration failure everytime of the Database.
In my case, the DB used is SQL 2005.
Can someone, please advise me.

Shared Services Configuration error msg

Hi,
I'm trying to set up HFM (9.3) on a Windows 2003 Enterprise server (SP2), when trying to configure shared services with SQL 2005 I get an error message that it was unable to connect to the database.
In SQL I set up a database called SSHARE and a user HFMAdmin as DBO to the database. I can link to the database using a UDL file and get a successful connection, yet not so in the config utility......SQL is set in both windows and SQL authentication.
I'm pretty new to the SQL world, if anyone has a dummies guide to setting up databases for HFM or can help out it would be greatly appreciated.

ok this how to trouble shoot your problem.
First create a database on sql server with sql server account. Try to login using ung sql server account and when you see your database then there is no problem.
After that open the sql server configuration manager. then browse each category make sure you
ENABLE YOUR TCP IP connections. so that sql server will allow you to connect from other application.
user your username and password in the hyperion configuration and the database name that you create in sql server

Shared Services JDBC error ORA-01722 after restart

I have this configuration:
- Red Hat EL5.0
- Oracle DB 10.2.0.1
- WebLogic 9.2 MP3
- Hyperion 9.3.1
Hyperion Shared Services install and configured - properly (without any exceptions and errors). Than I setup and config Essbase and Administration Services, externalize users and all this worked properly. I have projects and users in Shared Services and I can do anything with Essbase applications and cubes.
When restart Shared Services and other services I have error when Shared Services started:
org.apache.slide.store.impl.rdbms.StandardRDBMSAdapter - ERROR - SQL error 1722 on /1238771509551.56: [Hyperion][Oracle JDBC Driver][Oracle]ORA-01722: invalid number
and after that Shared Services - worked but I didn't find any users and projects in Shared Services.

I finally got it working!
I added the weblogic libraries located under EPM/Middleware/wlserver_10.3/server/lib, and now it works fine.
It was a pain to find it out, because the error message did not specify that it was a missing library..

Shared Services Installation Error

Hi all
im very new to Essbase and have little experience in the installation process.
I followed the documentation and managed to install Shared Services (SS) and the BI products.
I encountered and error when trying to install some essbase analysis products and could no longer start shared services. I proceeded to un-install and re-install the packages again thinking it would be simpler.
When i re-installed SS a fresh i received an error on the command line when attempting to start the configuration utility despite receiving non errors in the actual installation.
This is as follows:

There is no JRE Folder within the \Hyperion\common folder containing the jvm.dll that im told by a colleague usually exists.
Im running Vista Buisness, and have the JRE 5.0 Update 11 installed if thats any help.

The path was "C:\Hyperion\deployments\Tomcat5\bin\HyS9SharedServices.exe" Im guessing this is a consequence of the install proceedure not being done correctly by msyelf? Also found this in the conifgtool lo:

Shared Services Configuration Error

Hi,
I have installed Shared Services and also configured it. Then register AAS and Essbase with SS successfully.
Also externized AAS users. But when I am externizing Essbase users it is giving me following error: -
Error: 1051549: Can not convert Analytic Services to Shared Services mode when Analytic Services is not configured with Shared Services or the initialization process has failed
Please help me on it.

I have Essbase 11.1.1.2 installed on OEL 4 and am trying to migrate to shared services security mode. But i faced this
Error 1051549 : Can not convert Analytic Services to Shared Services mode when Analytic Services is not configured with Shared Services or the initialization process has failed
Do I need run the configuration utility again ? will this remove all the existing cubes from the analytic server ?

Shared Services Config

On server one I have EPM 11.1.2.1, except Essbase
On server two I have EPM 11.1.2.1 Foundation, with Essbase
How does Shared Services get configured so that I can connect from Server One to Server two?
I have a native user and I can connect via EAS from either server.
The problem is I can't deploy via EPMA, it gives me this error...
Essbase error occured: Failed to deploy Essbase cube.
Caused by: Cannot connect to olap service. Cannot connect to Essbase Server. Error:Essbase Error(1051293): Login fails due to invalid login credentials
Does EPMA require MSAD or LDAP?

What products are on server one? is foundation on server 1 as usually that is the first server to be configured.
EPMA can be used with native security.

I am trying to configure the SS in windows environment,the version is 9.3.1,
while configuring the EAS, it is throughing the below error,

Hi Bhavani,
Just see the contents of error log located at "Hyperion_Home\logs\config" generated during configuration of EAS. Hyperion_Home = Common location where common files stored when multiple hyperion products installed on same PC. Also posted error log contenets here.
Please verify following also: -
1- SS is installed and configured properly.
2- SS and OpenLdap services running fine.
3- Repository services (Whatever you confiured like SQL Server, DB2) is running fine.

ColdFusion Service config error

Hi all,
I've attached an access database in my ColdFusion Administrator, I am able to browse in RDS Viewer in Cf Bulder. When I try to launch the Connect to Data/Service wizard in Flash Builder, generate sample a sample I receive an RDS Error. Driver does not support that function. any help on using the wizard would be greatly appreciated.

I have installed 11.1.2 on Windows 2008 (64bit) in stand-alone mode. I also have Excel 2007 installed on the same machine. I took all of the default ports when setting up the server instance. I installed SmartView(32bit) on the same machine with no errors. When I try to connect to "Shared Connctions" through the SmartView home window, I keep receiveing an error message: "Connection to Shared Services failed Error Message: 'Cannot connect to provider. The server name could not be resolved.' I have tried replacing the server name with it's physical IP address,; I have tried all of the typical ports; but cannot seem to resolve the problem. My URL reads as follows: "http://testsys:13080/workspace/SmartViewProviders' I have a 11.1.1.3 instance on another server works fine, but the URL is a bit different (http://server:13080/aps/SmartView). Any help would be appreciated.

Did you assign your Hyperion Provider Services URL?
I am guessing that 11.1.2 hasn't changed that much from 11.1.1.3.
In 11.1.1.3, it's under Options and is in the lower right hand side of the Options form.
When you have that set, and then click the Connect button in the Data Source Manager, and then Connect to Provider Services, what happens?
You should see: Oracle BI Server, Oracle Essbase, and Oracle Planning. Do you get that far?

Have you installed and APS (Analytic Provider Server) on your system..??
As I know, to connecting to Essbase using Smartview, we need to install the APS on our system.
