Shared services login problem

Hello,
I installed and configured the shared services everthing was successful, when i started shared services using user management console , first page is opening with launch application, when i click lauch application it is not opening
url is http localhost:58080/interop/index.jsp,
it is not giving any error but showin something is loading
pls can any one help

I got solved my problem, I enabled custome level options settings in internet explorer Security secutity. now it is working fine.

I am having trouble after install hyperion 9.3 and configure Shared service i am not able to get into user directories. its look like hanged , i check the log and css.xml files they look fine, here are the detail.

The error suggest the file is read only.
Have you simply tried rebooting the server?

Shared services installation problem

Hi,
i have installed and configured shared services, configuration was also successfull, when i am trying to luanch through user management or internet explorer, it is getting page is not displayed.
when we install shared services java runtime environment should get install. which is not there in internet explorer advanced settings and add& remove programs.
when i try to stop the shared services in services list it is giveing error message 1033 and server is not responding.
webserver = iis 6.0
application server =apache
i am trying since very long for this installation.
pls can any one could suggest what more i should do for above installation

in services when i am trying to stop ldap and shared services it is not getting stopped
error message is it is not getting respond to the action
error is 1033
i am using computer name as server name
one more thing is when we run hyperion we need to do some setting in internet explore for security and advanced option.
in advanced options setting a java icon will get created which is not getting in internet explorer advanced option
first time when i installed it was running perfectly i formatted and trying to re install

Essbase - Shared Services security problem

In a Shared services enabled Essbase server,
For a user/group can we define different access levels (say Read on one & Write on the other) to different databases belonging to the same application (BSO)?
If not, Is there any alternative?

Of course you can.
If you're on v11, the steps are as follows:
1) Create a group (I am going to assume groups and usernames).
2) Provision the group Essbase server access and Read access to My Very Favorite Essbase Database In The Whole Wide World (MVFEDITWWW) -- Sample.Basic. You could get fancy and create a two level group hierachy with the upper level group provisioned ot Essbase server access and the second group Read access to Sample.Basic if you wanted to.
3) Expand the application groups and drill into Sample. Right click on Sample and pick Assign Access Control.
4) An Application tab will open up with a Database drop down. Select Basic and check off the box that relates to your group. It will have the role of Read.
You have just assigned access to Sample.Basic.
Follow the same steps for Sample.Intl, etc., etc.

ACS 4.1 Shared Services Components problem

I'm not able to edit the Shared Profiles Components for CiscoWorks in ACS. Error:
Failed to edit Ciscoworks Campus Manager.
Reason: You have insufficient privilege to Add/Edit Ciscoworks Campus Manager.
I logged in with admin account in ACS with all permissions. When opening the properties of my admin account, all the CiscoWorks rights are deselected. I can select all the rights, apply the changes, but the rights are not applied !

Seems like it is a windows AD-problem. every 30 min the server gets an gpoupdate (depending on who is logged in to the server) and if i have unchecked the box "use proxyserver" (IE - Options - connections - Lan settings) this update changes everything back to default, ie checks that box back. So next step: talk to some windows-people.

Hyperion Shared services configuration problem. 11.1.2.2

Installed 11.1.2.2 HSS and EAS on middle tier linux server and using a 2 brand new SQL Server 2008 database(s) as the repository on Windows 2003 machine. These servers were used in 11.1.2.0 environment so should not have any tcp errors but configtool is throwing the "EPMCFG-10368 cannot connect to database error". Configtool.log only has the "INFO:Start Configuration" message in it. I can ping/telnet from Linux server to SQL Server using 1433 port. As i mentioned, the 11.1.2.0 version was used with these 2 servers and this version was un-installed completely from the Linux server and we are using a brand new SQL database that is setup with a new ID that looks to have all the proper security credentials per the start up instuctions. I do notice that the OraInventory folder and some files still remain from the 11.1.2.0 version in the home directory of the Linux server so maybe that is an issue? Any thoughts on why configtool not finding my new SQL database? Oracle ticket is open but we still in the TCP, Pipe checking phase with them...

Alter database <yourdbname> set allow_snapshot_isolation on
and -
Launched SQL Server Configuration Manager, Under SQL Server Network configuration selected "Protocols for <InstanceName>" ensured that the "TCP/IP" protocol is enabled and "Named pipes" is also enabled.
If not, these changes need to be made and the DB services restarted.

FDM 11.1.2.1 Login problem

Hi All,
We migrated a FDM app from 9.3.1 to 11.1.2.1 ,......in 11.1.2.1 we configured CSS for authentication.....now when i try to log in to FDM app in V11.1.2.1....we can login with a MSAD ID which was present in V9.3.1
.we are not able to login with admin ID(after giving access to FDM app in SS) or we gave access to a new MSAD ID in V11.1.2.1...........but not able to login with it............
What can be the issue..how can we solve it

The problem is that I cant even start shared services
if OpenLDAP is not running properly.
When I try to start OpenLDAP (startservice.exe) then it just ends up with hundreds
of "service is starting...........................................................
or sometimes it comes up very quickly with
"A service specific error occurred:21."
I also tried the db restore with:
E:\Hyperion\SharedServices\9.3\openLDAP\bdb\bin\db_recover -v -h E:\Hyperion\SharedServices\9.3\openLDAP\var\openldap-data -t 04101200
There is nothing wrong with my configuation. All tasks are green.

Shared services problem

Problem Registering with Shared Services

Hi all.
I have this problem:
I'm installing Hyperion 11.1.1.3. I installed and configured Shared Services in server "sa02". I installed Essbase in "bd01" and registered fine to Shared Services. But, when I'm trying configure EAS (in "sa02"), it can't registered to Shared Services.
I have this error in $HYPERION_HOME/logs/config/configtool_err.log
com.hyperion.cis.config.wizard.RunAllTasksWizardAction, ERROR, Error:
java.lang.Exception: Unable to connect to Shared Services, make sure the Shared Services server is running and try again.
Shared services is deployed into OAS and I can login good. Ldap is running.
Any suggestion?

Shared Services / WebLogic Installation Problem

Hi,
I'm starting an install of 11.1.1.3 on a Windows 2003 EE R2 and have run into problems with the automatic deployment of the HSS application server. It appears that the config tool cannnot "reach" or start the WebLogic admin console.
Details:
WebLogic 9.2 MP3
hyperion has been created as a WL Admin
Node Manager is running on port 5556
Any thoughts or suggestions would be welcome.

Are you just trying to do a standard automatic deployment? If so, the node manager doesn't really have much to do with that -- has anything been deployed on this box already?
The first thing the config tool is going to do is deploy the admin server, then Shared Services; has the admin server itself been deployed at this point?
Check your Hyperion Home directory and see if there's a .\deployments\Weblogic9 directory; if there is, go to .\bin under there, and look for 'startWebLogic.cmd'.
Before running that file, open a command prompt and type:
netstat -an | findstr 7001
7001 is the admin server port; if it's already running, you'll see a LISTEN entry there. If you don't see a LISTEN, run startWebLogic.cmd, wait for it to start, then run the above netstat command in another command prompt. If you now see a LISTEN command, try logging into the admin server:
http://<wlhost>:7001/console
Login is just 'hyperion'.
If that works, great! Try your Shared Services deployment again.
If there is no HYPHOME\deployments directory (this is created when the admin server is deployed), clear out the config tool log (HYPHOME\logs\config\configtool.log), try the deployment again, and then copy the pertinent sections here.
Remember also, the config tool -- in an automatic deployment scenario -- is going to create its own weblogic profile, called hyslProfile. If you already have existing weblogic domains running on this box, Hyperion isn't going to use them -- if you do, and they aren't in use by anything, it would probably be best to just remove them. It's possible that if there's another non-hyslProfile admin server running on :7001 on that machine, the config tool could be getting confused.
