  • Help!!!! when i try to transfer my videos from phone to computer they upload as still images with sound!!!!

    hi all,
when i try and transfer my videos from phone to computer they are tranfering as still images with sound! I have tried going through i tunes! quick time and vlc player but they are all coming up the same!
I have bought several apps to aide with this but they all give the same results!
i find it hard to believe that i cannot transfer videos from iphone as i have a samsung monte too and that requires plugging in and selecting phone then selecting what i want transferring and then they are there to watch as i recorded them!!!!!
these are really important videos of my daughters first steps etc so really need to get this right! and as phone memory is low i cant do much on phone till i get rid of the vids!!!!
    thanks in advance

Plug your iPhone into your PC, when it is connected open my computer and you will see your iPhone under devices. Double click on your iPhone and a window will open and display a dics drive called "internal storage", double click on internal storage and a folder will appear (might be named DCIM), double click on that folder and another folder should appear. This folder(s) (their may be more then one) should contain all your pictures and videos taken on your iPhone. Simply select the video(s) you want to save to you computer by right clicking on the video, select copy and then paste it where you would like to save it on your pc (click and drag will also work). After you have transfered the videos to your pc see if they play properly.

  • ICloud pictures not syncing - Shared streams will; camera roll will not

    Hello
Ever since I got my new iPhone 5c my Camera Roll will not sync with my computer. The shared streams will sync, the pictures will sync with my other devices just not the computer.
I have tried untinstalling the icloud from the computer and reinstalling, I have signed out and back in on both the computer and iPhone, I just cant figure it out.
Has anyone else had this happen?
    PLEASE HELP!!

Similar issues, although maybe not quite as catastrophically bad. I've got a Mac Mini, an iMac, and an MBA, all running Yosemite, an iPhone 6, and an iPad 3 (both iOS devices are running iOS 8). The iOS devices seem to sync okay with changes made on the Mini, and vice versa, but the iMac doesn't seem to be syncing at all with the other devices, nor does the MBA. Based on the original post, I'm not going to bother calling Apple and spending an entire workday trying everything short of replacing the main logic board to try to figure out the problem.
What's particularly annoying is that Yosemite just went through an extended beta period. Unfortunately, there was no equivalent beta program for iOS 8, so there were probably plenty of areas where Apple simply did not do sufficient QC in an area where things need to work flawlessly: file management. Some of the files I keep on iCloud are hundreds of pages long, and the notion that they may become lost or corrupted gives me chills. Apple advertises iCloud Drive as a way to safely and reliably work on your files on multiple devices. So far, it is neither.

  • Why are pictures in my shared stream showing up blank?

I have used the shared stream feature multiple times and I absolutely love it, no complications or problems... Until now, that is.
When sharing the photos, about 1/3 of the pictures uploaded blank. They are either black, blue, grey or tan squares. And they turned my photos in my album like this as well. If anyone knows what is going on or has any suggestions on how to get my family vacation photos back I would really appreciate it!

    something is wrong
we need you to give us details to be able to help as we can not see yoru or your computer and only know wha tyou tell us
I could be anything from the wrong version of the OS or of iPhoto or not having auto import set or not having the PS turned on or photos being over 30 dats old or a thousand other reasons - with no information any thing is a wild guess

  • ICal invites show up on phone, not on computer

Even when I click "refresh" in the iCal menu, most invitations that have been sent to me do not show up. I know that I am getting them, as they all show up on my phone. Only about 1 in 8 show up in iCal, even after hitting refresh.

Wanted to post an update for anyone else with this issue. I was advised by someone else to call AT&T customer support and have them resend activation/provisioning to the phone. He said he had the issue and this worked for him. So I called and when I finally got someone I was told that there was nothing they could "resend" to the phone but she got in touch with an Apple iphone support person and after explaining the issue to her she connected me to the Apple rep. I explained everything again to her and she said there were two options - the "restore as new phone" which she did not recommend because of the hassle and length of time involved, or have the activation resent to the phone by AT&T. I told her that I had been told there was nothing to be resent. She told me that was incorrect and then she got back in touch with AT&T support then got back to me and said I would see a text message to power off the phone. When I saw that I was to power off and wait 5 minutes and then power the phone back on. At the time I was actually using the phone that had the issue so she called me back on my phone and after 5 minutes I powered the other phone back up and the number now shows up everywhere it's supposed to. Simple, no muss, no fuss and no restore!!
I thanked her profusely and we both wondered why the first AT&T service person I spoke to did not know that this could be done or did not want to. But she told me the AT&T guys are a little scared of the Apple guys and that they can get things done that we might not be able to. Anyway it is a simple process if you can get them to do it the first time, maybe it's best to go through the Apple people first. The Apple service rep was wonderful and I'm happy!

  • How to move photos and videos from phone to computer?

I want to take my videos and photos off my phone and move them on to my DELL computer but cannot figure out how to do it.

Connect iPhone to computer with USB cable. Then when Photo Wizard launches, use it to place the photos and videos onto the computer. Or connect iPhone to computer with USB cable, go to My Computer, click on iPhone icon and access photos and videos here and you place them onto the computer.

  • Storing Shows on Ipod and not computer

Due to the size of my library and all the tv shows/movies I have, its eating up a ton of HDD space on my system. Is there a way to 'load' these onto the ipod and store them there, then remove them from the latpop?

You can manually manage the iPod, but keep in mind if anything happens to the ipod (lost, broken, etc.) you risk losing your entire library...

  • Possible to stream from FMLE to another (desktop)computer?

This is some kind of a challenge: I'm trying to find a
sollution for streaming a video signal from one computer
(preferably with FMLE) and pick up the video stream on another
computer and show the video fullscreen.
So far it seem to me that FMLE is only able to deliver the
video stream to a Flash Media Server. Is this correct?
I'm hoping it is possible to stream the video from FMLE and
"pick up" that single stream from another computer with maybe a
program like VLC (or another application? - I just read that VLC
supports RTMP streams), and show the video fullscreen.
In theory, maybe I can use Flash Media Server for this, if it
is able to show the video it's picking up fullscreen.
Any suggestions or thoughts would be apreciated!
    regards

    carlnes
Windows Media Encoder and Player as a combination can do this "direct pull" from an encoder to a player without a server in the middle.  But in all the years of commercial live streaming I have done in 10 years, Flash Media Encoder can not be operated in the same way.  A Flash Server has to be in the middle.

  • Can this MacMini (2007) handle streaming HD video?

I'm looking at buying an used MacMini (2007) to act as a dedicated media server. I want to make sure the one I'm looking at can properly handle HD video streaming.
It's a 2007 model with the 1.83 ghz Core 2 Duo processor and 2gb ram upgrade.
I'm nervous because the 2.0 ghz macbook I've had for years has trouble streaming HD video. But that computer has been overheating and slowing down allot for the last year or so. Barely functions anymore.
    Thanks, Apple Community.

Thanks for the replies. You guys are great here.
I figured out what the problem was... or at least well enough to be able to fix it. A while ago, I had been converting the mkv files to m4v, like you do, but iTunes didn't seem to like them, even though it did accept them (sometimes it would corrupt the files). So, yesterday, I decided to convert one of the mkv files using Quicktime with the "Movie to AppleTV" option. I added the file, without copying it, to iTunes, and pointed it to the file on the TC. Voila, it plays on AppleTV beautifully.
So, for some reason, iTunes and ATV do not like the other converted files. Most of them I converted in Quicktime with the proper settings to convert it to mp4, so I don't know why there is an issue. I've used HandBrake, as well. Anyway, I'm glad the files will stream from TC if they are converted a certain way.
But while we are on the subject, does anyone know of a way to convert it for AppleTV like this but still have it be able to go on iPhone, too? iTunes always says that the file type is not supported on iPhone, even though it is a H.264. If I use HandBrake to convert for iPhone/iPod Touch, then that of course works, but I'd rather not have two types of each file.

  • HT1557 where do i find Universal Binary Component compatible with Intel-based Macintosh that allows quicktime to show video?

where do i find the link to the Universal Binary Component compatible with Intel-based Macintosh that allows quicktime to show video?

I think your question is too vague to get an answer.
You're asking for a 'Universal Binary component' for your 'Intel-based Macintosh'. Why universal binary?
universal binaries are designed to work on both PowerPC and Intel machines. If you're using an Intel machine why do you need PowerPC support?
Also, you want something that 'allows QuickTime to show video'. Well, not to be glib, but QuickTIme does video - that's it's raison d'etre. Therefore I think your question is more about how to get QuickTime to show a specific (non-standard?) video format. Without knowing what that format is, it's impossible to answer your question directly.
That said, maybe the place to start is Apple's QuickTime Components index.

  • IPhoto not showing videos in Photo Stream

Does anyone know why I can't see my videos which have transferred from my iPhone to my computer via Photo Stream?

WTH is the difference between "my photo stream" and "iCloud Photo Sharing"?
"With iCloud Photo Sharing, you can share photos and videos with just the people you choose, and you can let them add their own photos, videos, and comments.
iCloud Photo Sharing adds new features to shared photo streams, including the ability to share videos and allow subscribers to contribute to your shared streams. These new features work with the following devices and software:
iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch using iOS 7
Mac using OS X v10.9 or later and either iPhoto 9.5 or Aperture 3.5
Apple TV with Apple TV software 6.0
Windows PC using Windows 7 or later and iCloud Control Panel 3.0 or later
If you are using earlier versions of iOS, iCloud Control Panel, iPhoto, or Aperture, you can still create and view shared photo streams. Learn more."
    The above is from
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5902
Sadly I AM HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM as the OP.
I can share my iphone 4S videos with others via the Share option to icloud (it sends them an invite and they approve and then can view the videos) but I can't figure out how to use photo stream to get them to my Macbook Pro (yes, I can probably connect via itunes but thats not the point).
A little postscript, does anyone have the faintest idea how to read these support pages on the iphone without a magnifying glass?

  • My Photo Stream not going to my computer -but shared streams do.

I think this started when I updated to the newest version of iCloud panel for windows -version 4.0.2- because I had pictures from less than 2 weeks ago in the stream folder on my computer before I did the update.  What I'm seeing is, on my computer (windows 8.1) I have all the photo streams with pictures that have been shared with me, including one I created today to test it out.  Nothing is in the 'My Photo Stream" folder.  The folder exists, it's just empty.
    empty on my computer-
    on my phone:
Here is what I have tried-
Signed in and out of iCloud panel on my computer and restarted computer
Turned on and off Photos in the iCloud panel and restarted computer
Turned on and off My Photo Stream in settings and rebooted the phone
Photo Stream has been spotty at best for the last year or more- but was working not that long ago.
I realize that a 'work around' would be to create a shared stream with myself and copy the pictures I want to get to my computer into it.  However, I shouldn't have to.  It is supposed to work automatically...
I don't see any answers to this anywhere, so if someone can point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it!  Thank you!

  • Shared Stream not showing all shared photos on all devices

So, we have setup a shared stream in Photos to share family moments.  The main issue we are experiencing is that on my iPhone I am not able to see contributions from one family member, but on my iPad they show up.  Both are iOS 7, and have been through all the troubleshooting steps though have not done the "turn off sharing, and delte all photos" step.  Any ideas on why or how that would be happeing?  Thanks!

You can apparently force ios6 devices to receive the subscriber contributed photos by turning off shared photo streaming and turning it back on again. It is under General Troubleshooting in the following link:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4379
A similar workaround did not work with iPhoto 11.
To get around this, I've been re-sharing the subscriber contributed content and deleting the original from the stream. They show up, but not a very elegant solution.

  • Why are my photo stream photos not showing up in on my computer?

Only some of the pictures I take with my iPhone 4 are loading in iCloud and only some of those are showing up on my computer with iCloud operating.  Please help.

I've got the same problem.  Photos taken on my iPhone and iPad all used to appear virtually immediately on my laptop Photo Stream (so long as phone/ipad were connected to wifi) .  Since updating to ios8 ... nothing.  It's really annoying because I take loads of photos for work, and it was so easy to be able to upload them direct from the PhotoStream, now I either have to connect iPhone by USB or email them to myself.
I must say, I've never found PhotoStream the most reliable thing ever, it did used to stop working every couple of months, but nothing that logging out of my iCloud control panel and back in didn't solve.  However I've done this numerous times and even resorted to removing and reinstalling it, nothing works and I really don't know what else I can do.   Photos I take on iPhone appear on the "Recently added" photos on iPad and vice versa, but nothing on the laptop.
I did hear a "rumour" that Apple are going to reinstate the good old Camera Roll and PhotoSteam on the next update, due October 20th ... hoping this will alleviate the problem otherwise I guess I'll have to start using DropBox.
