Shared Technologies have failed to install Photoshop Elements 12 on my Win 7
Hi,
Could you please share the logs from the location(s) mentioned below:
%temp%\PREInstall.log, PRE11.log,
PDApp.log,
amt.log,
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Installers\<*PRE11*>.log.gz
I'd be able to comment & suggest better once I have the logs but meanwhile, you might like to upgrade the Adobe Application Manager from the following location just to rule out any incompatibilities or upgrade failures of AAM:
Win: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4773
Mac: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4774
Thanks.

Installing Pre Elements 11 Error: Shared Technologies have failed to install
Hi,
having problems installing Pre Elements on my windows 7 laptop.
I'm trying to install the 64bit version as I'm running 64bit windows 7.
I've been working my way though this web page to find a solution to the error...
http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/kb/troubleshoot-installation-photoshop-elements- premiere.html
First up, I had the demo version of Elements (which installed and ran perfectly), which I uninstalled before installing the purchased product from Adobe, and re-downloaded the installs from the Adobe shop servers.
I have currently also have a CS6 installation on my laptop.
I ran the ASA tool and all it sees is my CS6 installation.
I went though the windows Program file directories and made sure all Elements stuff was deleted.
I've checked the MSCONFIG to see what Adobe services are running at startup, and I turned off everything that was associated with Adobe.
I've copied the downloaded installer exe and packaged file to a folder on the C: root.
I'm running the installer from there and when it unpacks the files I make sure it unpacks them to the same directory in the C:
The problem seems to be with the 'shared components. The install gets most of the way through installing the Organizer when it quits and rolls back the installation.
No extra info is given by the installer on why it has run into a problem.
I've tried to install Photoshop elements too and that stalls at the same point.

PSE 11 Install problems - Shared Technologies have failed to install
Hi All,
I am hopeful that someone will be able to provide me with a little advice regarding the installation of PSE11.
I have attempted to run the install via the BD media, Copeied BD media to HDD and download from Adobe site but I keep on getting the shared technologies error.
I have followed the advice laid out in;
http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/kb/troubleshoot-installation-photoshop-elements- premiere.html#main_Error__Below_mentioned_applications_have_failed_to_install__Shared_tech nologies_
and also attempted to recover the log file as explained in;
http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/kb/troubleshoot-install-using-logs-elements.html #main_main_log
The installation failure appears to be taking place following the organiser when it tries to install the shared technologies.
I have attempted to install with all non essential windows services switched off and I have also used the CS cleaner as well as ASA log reader but to no avail.
If anyone could point me in the direction of a solution it would be greatly appreciated.
Edit: The ASA log has thrown up the following;
"cpsid_82829s1: "A restart is pending," bootstrapper error has occurred.
Click here for details and corrective actions related to this issue."
I have gone in to the registry as per adobe advice;
http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-error-messages-bootstrapper-cs5.html
But I cannot find an InProgress key to delete.
Regards
Neil
ASA log output addedWhich download did you try? Was it the version from Adobe store. If so try a different source by using the free trial from the link below. Then validate the product with your serial number.
Before you begin uninstall the existing PSE11 application via the control panel.

I have downloaded and installed Photoshop Elements 11 on my new Macbook Pro. Why can't I see my scanner (Epson Perfection 3200 Photo) from the File>Import menu?
There was no driver update available (it said my driver was up to date), so I just deleted the scanner and restarted the computer. when it came up, the scanner had already been added again. With great anticipation I tried to import from Photoshop...but no luck (scanner was not visible). I finally ended up calling Epson (had great difficulty in locating a number for support) and they finally told me there is no driver update for OS X 10.10 and I should as a work around use "Image Capture" application. I tried it, and it works quite well.

ERROR: DW050: - Adobe Photoshop Elements 10: Failed due to Language Pack installation failure
ERROR: DW050: - Adobe Photoshop Elements 10_AdobePhotoshopElements10_en_US: Install failedI had pretty much the same error code, but a different font was named. Between the suggestion from Manish_1988 and the page linked by Vikrant Ral, I finally got my installation to work. Here's what I did:
1. Open a Terminal window and "cd /Library/Fonts"
2. Remove all of the fonts in the family that the error message is complaining about. In my case, the offending font in the error message was ACaslonPro-Regular.otf. I created a new subdir under /Library/Fonts, then moved all of the ACaslonPro* files to the new subdir. Commands were:
sudo mkdir old_fonts
sudo mv ACaslonPro* old_fonts
3. Ran the installation again and it completed without errors.
I think I was doing all of this in Safe Mode (based on the advice from http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/errors-exit-code-6-exit.html), but I'm not sure that was necessary. I did previously have Photoshop Elements 6 on this machine, which I believe is what put those fonts there in the first place.
Also, before I moved the fonts, I had a font called ACaslonPro-Semibold.otf.incompleteMigration, whose size was 0 bytes. Maybe this file was causing the problem, but I don't know. I think this file may have resulted from an error a couple years ago when I migrated an old MacBook to a new machine.
Hope this helps -
Failed to install Photoshop Elements on my iMac
I failed to install my old version Photoshop Elements 2.0, purchased with camera as package. Once I click the installer pop-up message say "You must be logged in as an Administrator to install this product...". I am actually the only user and adimin on this system. How to resolve it? I searched some cased in the community and tried but couldn't find a good solution. Any expert knows? Thanks!
What are the specs of your iMac?
What version of OS X are you running?
PS Elements 2.0 is very old. This version is for old Macs that used Motorola PowerPC processor chips. It will not work on your iMac without your iMac running OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard running a PowerPC emulator app called Rosetta.
If you ard running OS X 10.7 Lion or 10.8 Mt. Lion, this version of PS will no longer work.
You'll need to update it to a new, compatible version.
Also, any version of PS is CPU! GPU! RAM and HD hungry.
You may find you'll need to increase the amount of RAM memory in your iMac to run PS Elements. -
I downloaded Photoshop Elements 12 to work on my new platform Windows 7. It does not work properly. Specifically my problem is that I can only load one picture at a time onto the work area even if I have chosen two separate pictures. In other words I can not cut and paste not can I join pictures together.
If I load the program on my older computer with WindowsXP it works fine.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.You have probably forgotten. In recent versions of PSE you must go to the edit>preferences>general and turn on Allow Floating Documents.
