Shared technology elements 12

I have been trying for last 3 days to install elements 12, onto a laptop, windows 7, 64bit. everytime it gets to shared technology it starts to uninstall.  It seems that this is a common problem, so far I have tried most of the sugested solutions apart from reformatting the harddrive, although I am not very tech minded and some of the apparent solutions are beyond me. Im really not happy with spending so much time trying to load a piece of software that should have been done in 5min, so if anyones got any easy solutions i would be grateful otherwise it will be back to shop tomorrow.

Hi,
Since you have tried most of the suggested workarounds ,I need to look into the logs to see the specific problem on your machine.
Can you please share following logs with me @ [email protected]
Go to %temp% folder and share

  • Premiere elements 11 failed to install with the error about shared technologies

PRE 11 failed to install with the error "The installation process has encountered an error while installing shared technologies. Please restart your system and try again" all that does is uninstall everything and I have to restart agin with the same error and we go on. So far the only way it is working is at the point of the "error message" I run task manager and stop the installer, I know it's leaving files that should be removed by the installer, but it worked. This information was gained on one of the forums and seems to work. Yesterday was the first time I really used it fully and although I was able to create a project I cannot output it as a file (mpg), it starts to output ok then throws up an error and fails. As PRE 10 was still installed I imported the project (which amazed me) into PRE 10 and outputted as required with no error. All this may be due to something being wrongly installed or not being installed in PRE 11, I don't know. Can anybody help

  • Premiere Elements 11 "installing Shared Technologies" error during install

How do I fix the "The installation process has encountered an error whil installing Shared Technologies.  Please restart your system and try again." error while installing Premiere Elements 11?  Photoshop Elements 11 installed fine, but I keep receiving this error while trying to install Premier Elements 11.
    I have already tried:
    Install from CD
    Install from C: drive root
Install from Adobe website trial version
Install from CD, after clean boot
In each case it installs at the same place with the same error.
From searching these forums and doing a web search it seems like a common problem with no clear solution.

I do not know if what I am about to report will help or confuse the Premiere Elements users further on this Shared Technology error encountered during Premiere Elements installation, but here is hoping that something in the following experience might be of help to someone....
I entered your thread with the Shared Technology error (targeting Elements Organizer/Data 7) when trying to install Photoshop Elements 10 and Premiere Elements 10 on a new Windows 8 64 bit computer. Unlike the others I had no problems installing Premiere Elements 11 and Photoshop Elements 11 from the Adobe installation disc a week earlier on this brand new Windows 8 64 bit computer. Short of re-formatting the hard drive, I did everything plus with no luck in getting versions 10 installed on this Windows 8 64 bit computer. So, I decided to focus on working with the already installed version 11 programs.
I headed for Premiere Elements 11 to create a DVD-VIDEO format on DVD disc and to my horror found that the program's burn dialog had no burner(s) in the burner location (either the build in one or an external burner (USB). But, Premiere Elements 11 burn to folder did work. On the other hand, I found that Photoshop Elements 11 Organizer File Menu feature to burn (datadisc) to CD or DVD did recognize these burners and that burn to feature worked. I went through the typical drill for those in this type of situation and nothing remedied the problem. So, I decided to go for the deactivate/uninstall/reinstall route. Well,  now Premiere Elements 11 reinstallation ran into the same fate as Premiere Elements 10, that is, it ran into the Shared Technologies error related to installation of the Elements Organizer and Premiere Elements 11 would not install after going through everything decribed in this thread, excluding re-formatting the hard drive.
    1. Deactivated/uninstalled Photoshop Elements 11 and Premiere Elements 11.
    2. Apply the cclearer: cleaner and registry cleaner. And, then went into the Registry and deleted all related to Photoshop Elements 10/Premiere Elements 10 as well as Photoshop Elements 11/Premiere Elements 11.
    3. Disabled firewall, antivirus, spyware...
    4. Tried to reinstall Premiere Elements 11, using the installation files (setup.exe in 64 bit folder) copied to hard drive. No go. Same Shared Technology error.
    5. Started deleting programs that I had installed after the initial successful installs of Photoshop Elements 11 and Premiere Elements 11 (these programs included iTunes, VLC player, and ImgBurn). Still no go for the Premiee Elements 11 install, and same Shared Technologies error.
FINALLY, Photoshop Elements 11 and Premiere Elements 11 got successfully installed on this Windows 8 64 bit computer according to the following scenario (iTunes, VLC player, and ImgBurn still removed from system...firewall, antivirus, spyware protection re-enabled)
    1. Attached a USB burner to computer via one of its USB 3.0 ports.
    2. Inserted the Adobe installation disc into the burner tray of this burner in order to install the program(s) via the installation disc.
    3. Selected install for Photoshop Elements 11. It went to completion without problem.
    4. Selected install for Premiere Elements 11. It went to completion without problem. And, now the burn dialog/burner location did recognize the computer's built in burner and my USB external burner.
None of the above may have had anything to do with what finally triggerd the version 11 installation processes to go to completion. But, I add this to the mix of how Photoshop Elements 11/Premiere Elements 11 finally got installed in Windows 8 for the user.
And, I would offer this suggestion to those who have already installed Premiere Elements 11 on their Windows 8 64 bit. As soon as possible make sure you have burners listed in the burner location of the program's burn dialog.

  • Premiere Elements 11 Shared Technologies error DW020 Adobe Flash Player 10 plug in missing.

I am unable to complete the install of Adobe Premiere Elements 11 on my Windows7 Pro 64 bit system.  When the installation process gets to installing Shared Technologies I get an error message "The installation process has encountered an error while installing Shared Technologies.  Please restart your system and try again."  Restarting the system gives the same result again.  The download assistant program identifies two errors: DW050--Adobe Flash Player 10 ActiveX: Install failed, and DW020: Adobe Flash CS5.5 depends on Adobe Flash Player 10 plugin to be installed.
My system currently has Adobe Flash player 11.7.700.224 installed.  I can find a download of Adobe Flash Player 10 but where do I put it?  Do I need to uninstall Adobe Flash Player 11.7... ?  Is there another solution?

This install problem seems to be solved.  I uninstalled every Adobe program, but still couldn't get past the Shared Technologies issue.  Then I went to C://Program Files (x86)/Common Files/Adobe/ and deleted all recent folders & files.  This seemed to do it.  Both Premiere Elements 11 and Photoshop Elements completed installation.  Now on to figuring out how to force Windows7 64 bit to run these programs in 32 bit simulation mode.

  • Premiere Elements 11 gives error "encountered a problem installing shared technologies" and does not install.

I have Photoshop Elements 11 installed but Premiere Elements will not install due to the problem installing shared technologies. I would appreciate any suggestions as to how to fix the issue. I tried the installation several times.

On what computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 11 running on? For now I will assume Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit. Are you installing the program from
an installation disc or from installation files?
The Shared Technologies error is an old story that afflicts several versions of Premiere Elements on several different computer operating systems. My encounters with this error
have been using installation disc for the program involved.
There are numerous home remedies. The one that has been working for me lately and consistently has been the disabling of the OOBE Folder which is found
    Local Disk C
    Program Files (x86)
    Common Files
    Adobe
and in the Adobe Folder is the OOBE which you disable by changing the folder name from OOBE to OLDOOBE.
Please let us know if that worked for you.
    Do not give up.

  • Can't install Elements 12 due to error in installing "shared technologies."

Is there a definitive solution to installation problem of Elements 12, which toward the end returns an error message of "failure to install shared technologies?" I tried the suggested solutions such such deleted the .PPA files in the "Common Files" folder and restarting the computer just before the installation rolls back. None of them works. I am left with a piece of lemon worth USD 135.62 dollars.
    Thanks.

I FOUND THE SOLUTION! Sorry to say, I did this after disregarding the absolutely useless advise from Adobe's "experts" that led me nowhere. For the sake of users out there experiencing the same problem, here's how I did it.
    1. Installed Elements 12 until it got to the point where it the error message says "The installation process has met some error installing Shared Technologies. Please restart your system and try again."
    2. Well, I did not restart my system or allow the process to roll back. If you look at the desktop, the Elements 12 icon and shortcut already appears - it seems the installation is 99.99% complete, except that you cannot open it.
    3. While clicking the short cut, a message said something like "some device is missing. Download the latest Adobe Application Manager to open (or start) your trial software" or words to that effect. I did download the latest Adobe Application Manger  8.0.
    4. After downloading the Adobe Application Manager, I clicked the Elements 12 shortcut again and lo and behold it opened and is running beautifully. However, the warning in No. 1 above is still displayed. Don't ever click it or else the installation will roll back and you are back to zero. I simply shut down the computer and restarted. Elements 12 is permanently installed. Thanks to some DIY tinkering.
I am not sure though if this will work on other's computers.  And by the way, thanks to Adobe's experts for being nice.

  • How to get Adobe Elements 11 to finish downloading with the "Shared Technologies Error"

    Hey everyone
I've tried many times to get my Adobe Elements 11 software to download, but every time more than half way through an error pops up saying Shared Technologies error, unable to install. Then it deletes everything and shuts down. It says for me to restart my computer and try again, I've done that many times..... if anyone has any information on how to finally get this software up and running that would be greatly appreciated!!
    Thanks guys!

  • Am trying to reinstall photoshop elements/premiere elements 9 back on my pc but when it gets to installing shared technologies it freezes and then rolls back.

I don't know what is going on with this. Photoshop worked but the premiere elements suddenly kept freezing so I un installed and am trying to reinstall but keep having the same issue. This is from a purchased dvd set. At one point when it got to this phase, the dvd started making an odd noise then roll back. I try again and again with no odd noise but still the same issue. It's not the pc I've had that remotely checked and other stuff installs. What gives? I NEED this fixed pronto

What computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 9.0/9.0.1 running on? For now, for the details below, I will assume Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit.
You are experiencing the known Shared Technology installation error syndrome which can hit any version of Premiere Elements on any computer operating system. There is no one fix. Lots of home remedies.
The fix that has worked for me consistently lately is this:
    Local Disc C
    Program Files (x86)
    Common Files
    Adobe
and in the Adobe Folder is the OOBE Folder. Rename the OOBE Folder from OOBE to OLDOOBE. Close out of there and try for the Premiere Elements 9 installation again. (Do not forget to do the Premiere Elements 9.0.1 Update after you have finished the Premiere Elements 9 installation.)
The following is a sampling of what some others have gone through with this particular error

  • When installing Premiere Elements I get an error with Shared Technologies

When installing Premiere Elements onto a Windows XP Service Pak 3, I get an error with Shared Technologies.

    Thx for the reply.

    Thank you.

  • Photoshop Elements 12 - can't get pass the install Shared Technologies

I've spent hours trying to install Photoshop Elements 12 on my Windows 8.1 64 bit computer. The install process chugs along merrily and then chokes with an unspecified error whilst installing the shared technologies and then rolls back the installation.
The installer leaves a load of files in the Photoshope Elements 12 directory; the installer then fails to uninstall the program throwing up an error about an empty path which requires registry editing to get around.
I've tried a wide variety of "fixes" (this seems a common problem) including deleting the OOBE directory, installing for the harddrive, turning of the virus checker/firewall, installing from tthe command line and even downloading the whole package from the Adobe website (I've bought it on CD) and all have failed and the "shared technologies" installation seems to be the problem.
I'm a very experience computer user but I've just about reached the point of packaging everything up and sending it back; I'm not very confident about the quality of the software when I can't even get past the installer.
Is there a way of installing Photoshop Elements 12 on a Windows 8.1 computer or perhaps a way of downloading and installing the shared technologies seperately?
