Sharepoint 2010 package problem

I have a Sharepoint 2010 projet, when I click right the solution and select "Package All Sharepoint Projects (CKSDev)" it gives me the output message:
------ Build started: Project: ABCDE.Intranet, Configuration: Debug Any CPU ------
  ABCDE.Intranet -> C:\Workspace\BNP\ABCDE.Intranet\ABCDE.Intranet\bin\Debug\ABCDE.Intranet.dll
========== Build: 1 succeeded or up-to-date, 0 failed, 0 skipped ==========
When I go to the path "C:\Workspace\BNP\ABCDE.Intranet\ABCDE.Intranet\bin\Debug\" the files where not updated!
NOT UPDATED:
ABCDE.Intranet.wsp
ABCDE.Intranet.dll
Any ideas pls?
thanks

Please try to clean your solution and then click on "Package All SharePoint Projects".
Hope this helps.

    I have CRM 2011(online) and Sharepoint 2010(online) on Same domain of Office 365.
    I Integrated the CRM 2011(Online) with Sherepoint 2010(Online) but inside CRM it doesnot show normal view it shows only site.
    if I Use 2011 list Components it shows only sit inside of CRM as below...
    but if I Use the 2013 list Components it work fine for me.But there is also an issue
    problem is that it works only if Sahrepoint is sign-in if sharepoint sign-out it shows this error...
    this error is same for both case in 2011 list Components or
    2013 list Components.

    Hi Muhammad,
    According to your description, my understanding is that the SharePoint site showing in the CRM and the error occurred when SharePoint was signing out.
    For the first issue, I recommend to check if the corresponding document library is created in SharePoint site.
    Please go to SharePoint site, click Site Actions and View All Site Content, then check if the
    entities you selected to be managed by Document Management appear as document libraries.
    For test, I recommend to re-configure the CRM referring to the link below to see if the issue still occurs:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj863709.aspx
    For the second issue, I recommend to add *.microsoftonline.com to trusted site in Internet Explorer browser and
    make sure that the Enable Protected Mode check box isn't selected.

    Hello,
    I have tried to install Sharepoint and while installing sharepoint prerequisites i am getting the error for the IIS "The Tool was unable to install Application

    Thanks

    A developer install of SharePoint 2010 is not supported for Windows 8.1.  Changes in the underlying IIS server make it very difficult.  But I have a BLOG post on how to install it in Windows 7 here:

    And here's a BLOG post about what you need to do differently for Windows 8.  I'm pretty sure that should still work for Windows 8.1.

  • Problem rename sharepoint 2010 search service application admin database

    Hi all,
    i have a problem that hopefully someone has an answer to.  i am not too familiar with sharepoint so please excuse my ignorance.
    we have sharepoint 2010 on a windows 2008r2 server.  everything seems to work fine.  but as you know, the default database names are horrendous.  i have managed to rename all of them, except for the "search service application" admin
    database.
    the default is: Search_Service_Application_DB_<guid>
    the other 2 databases (crawl and property) were renamed without a problem.
    we are following the article from technet on how to rename the search service admin db (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-nz/library/ff851878%28en-us%29.aspx).  it says to enter the following command:
    $searchapp | Set-SPEnterpriseSearchServiceApplication -DatabaseName "new database name" -DatabaseServer "dbserver"
    however, i get an error about identity being null.  no big deal, i add the -Identity switch and the name of my search service application.  but the real problem comes the error it throws:
    Set-SPEnterpriseSearchServiceApplication : The requested database move was aborted as the associated search application is not paused.
    At line:1 char:54
    + $searchapp | Set-SPEnterpriseSearchServiceApplication <<<<  -Identity "Search Service Application" -DatabaseName "SharePoint2010_Search_Service_Application_DB" -DatabaseServer "dbserver"
        + CategoryInfo          : InvalidData: (Microsoft.Offic...viceApplication:

      nvalidOperationException
        + FullyQualifiedErrorId : Microsoft.Office.Server.Search.Cmdlet.SetSearchS
       erviceApplication
    when i look at the crawling content sources, i see "Local SharePoint Sites" and it's status is Idle.  i even looked at this article on how to pause the search to no avail.  (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee808864.aspx)
    does someone know how i can rename my Search Service Applcation Admin database properly?  or at least "pause" that service so i can rename it?
    thank you all in advanced

    If you want to have no guids for your search admin db, i recommend you check out this script :)
    just delete your search service application (assuming you have just started)

  • Problem running SSRS report on SharePoint 2010 - report renders rendomly

    I have an SSRS master report that contains about 30 sub-reports. These reports are deployed to SharePoint 2010 server. Per my understanding these reports run independently of Reporting Server (execute directly from the cube/database).
    It appears that this master report executes for about 10 minutes and then returns a blank page for most requests. Seldom it returns the master report consisting 30 sub-reports. I have checked Report Server logs using the following query and it shows no trace.
    Use ReportServer
    select * from ExecutionLog3 order by TimeStart DESC
    I set SharePoint 2010 logging to the lowest level and reviewed the log for the run-time of the report. This log shows that the report and sub reports are being executed, however it does not provide any significant error information. Follows a sample of what
    SharePoint log contains for single sub-report execution.

    I have tried running reports on IE 8, IE 9, Chrome and on multiple systems. This random behavior does not change across browsers or machines. Report is rendered for one out of 10 requests (if at all).
    Has someone experienced this problem? I have been spending a lot of time just to see the report output of the master. Unfortunately my SharePoint reports use shared data-sets and it is not possible to run master from Visual Studio 2008 IDE as well.
    Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hi Kenny,
    Thank you for your question.
    From your description, you can to move the parameter pane from right to the top in the SharePoint site, right? I am afraid this cannot be done in SQL Server 2008R2 SSRS reports on SharePoint 2010 integrated mode. And this is a know issue which you can see:http://connect.microsoft.com/SQLServer/feedback/details/545893/allow-ssrs-parameter-panel-to-be-formatted
    Thank you for your understanding.

    It is not a bug, you might be using IE in Windows server 2012 and and browser might be restricting your site actions to respond properly.
    Check this in a different browser or access site in a differ OS.

  • SharePoint 2010, Visual Studio 2010, Packaging a solution - The specified path, file name, or both are too long. The fully qualified file name must be less than 260 characters, and the directory name must be less than 248 characters.

    Hi,
    I have a solution that used to contain one SharePoint 2010 project. The project is named along the following lines:
    <Company>.<Product>.SharePoint - let's call it Project1 for future reference. It contains a number of features which have been named according
    to their purpose, some are reasonably long and the paths fairly deep. As far as I am concerned we are using sensible namespaces and these reflect our company policy of "doing things properly".
    I first encountered the following error message when packaging the aforementioned SharePoint project into a wsp:
    "The specified path, file name, or both are too long. The fully qualified file name must be less than 260 characters, and the directory name must be less than 248 characters."
    I went through a great deal of pain in trying to rename the project, shorten feature names and namespaces etc... until I got it working. I then went about gradually
    renaming everything until eventually I had what I started with, and it all worked. So I was none the wiser...not ideal, but I needed to get on and had tight delivery timelines.
    Recently we wanted to add another SharePoint project so that we could move some of our core functinality out into a separate SharePoint solution - e.g. custom workflow
    error logging. So we created another project in Visual Studio called:
    <Company>.<Product>.SharePoint.<Subsystem> - let's call it Project2 for future reference
    And this is when the error has come back and bitten me! The scenario is now as follows:
    1. project1 packages and deploys successfully with long feature names and deep paths.
    2. project2 does not package and has no features in it at all. The project2 name is 13 characters longer than project1
    I am convinced this is a bug with Visual Studio and/or the Package MSBuild target. Why? Let me explain my findings so far:
    1. By doing the following I can get project2 to package
    In Visual Studio 2010 show all files of project2, delete the obj, bin, pkg, pkgobj folders.
    Clean the solution
    Shut down Visual Studio 2010
    Open Visual Studio 2010
    Rebuild the solution
    Package the project2
    et voila the package is generated!
    This demonstrates that the package error message is in fact inaccurate and that it can create the package, it just needs a little help, since Visual Studio seems to
    no longer be hanging onto something.
    Clearly this is fine for a small time project, but try doing this in an environment where we use Continuous Integration, Unit Testing and automatic deployment of SharePoint
    solutions on a Build Server using automated builds.
    2. I have created another project3 which has a ludicrously long name, this packages fine and also has no features contained within it.
    3. I have looked at the length of the path under the pkg folder for project1 and it is large in comparison to the one that is generated for project2, that is when it
    does successfully package using the method outlined in 1. above. This is strange since project1 packages and project2 does not.
    4. If I attempt to add project2 to my command line build using MSBuild then it fails to package and when I then open up Visual Studio and attempt to package project2
    from the Visual Studio UI then it fails with the path too long error message, until I go through the steps outlined in 1. above to get it to package.
    5. DebugView shows nothing useful during the build and packaging of the project.
    6. The error seems to occur in
    CreateSharePointProjectService target called at line 365 of
    Microsoft.VisualStudio.SharePoint.targetsCurrently I am at a loss to work out why this is happening? My next task is to delete
    project2 completely and recreate it and introduce it into my Visual Studio solution.
    Microsoft, can you confirm whether this is a known issue and whether others have encountered this issue? Is it resolved in a hotfix?
    Anybody else, can you confirm whether you have come up with a solution to this issue? When I mean a solution I mean one that does not mean that I have to rename my namespaces,
    project etc... and is actually workable in a meaningful Visual Studio solution.

    Hi
    Yes, I thought I had fixed this my moving my solution from the usual documents  to
    c:\v2010\projectsOverflow\DetailedProjectTimeline
    This builds ok, but when I come to package I get the lovely error:
    Error 2 The specified path, file name, or both are too long. The fully qualified file name must be less than 260 characters, and the directory name must be less than 248 characters. C:\VS2010\ProjectsOverflow\DetailedProjectTimeline\VisualDetailedProjectTimelineWebPart\Features\Feature1\Feature1.feature VisualDetailedProjectTimeline
    Now, the error seems to be related to
    Can anyone suggest what might be causing this. Probably some path in an XML file somewhere. Here is my prime suspect!
    <metaData>
    <type name="VisualDetailedProjectTimelineWebPart.VisualProjectTimelineWebPart.VisualProjectTimeline, $SharePoint.Project.AssemblyFullName$" />
    <importErrorMessage>$Resources:core,ImportErrorMessage;</importErrorMessage>
    </metaData>
    <data>
    <properties>
    <property name="Title" type="string">VisualProjectTimelineWebPart</property>
    <property name="Description" type="string">My Visual WebPart</property>
    </properties>
    </data>
    </webPart>
    </webParts>
    .... Unless I can solve this I will have to remove the project and recreate but with simple paths. Tho I will be none the wiser if I come across this again.

  • Problems opening PDFs from SharePoint 2010 with Acrobat X Pro

    Is anyone else having problems integrating pdf document support into Sharepoint 2010?
    I now have the icon showing for any pdf documents saved in a Document Lirary, However I don't get the options of Checking out - editing an checking in. There is also no revision control. I think that when I open a pdf document, the servers own copy of Adobe Reader opens, and not my local copy of Reader or Acrobat X pro.
    I've done what it says in the Administrators guide for Sharepoint integration and I'm still unable to get this functionality to work. As we use interactivve pdfs for a lot of our internal documentation the pdf integration features are very important.
    Any help from users who have already been through the pain of sharepoint integration would be really appreciated.
    Regards.

    Hi Bill,
    Looking at your initial problem of not being able to open the SharePoint hosted PDF document from the web browser.
    Could you please verify that as per the "Enterprise Administration Guide", the DocIcon.xml file of your server contains the following line:
    <Mapping Key="pdf" Value="AdobePDF.png" OpenControl="AdobeAcrobat.OpenDocuments"/>
    Please verify that the OpenControl attribute is also mentioned correctly. Without this the Acrobat Active X component would not be invoked.
    thanks,
    Shivani

  • Problem Saving Files to A Sharepoint 2010 Site from Office 2010: Saves locally by default rather than to the correct sharepoint site

    Hi we are starting to use sharepoint 2010 / word 2010 and have found an interesting bug/problem. Sometimes when a user tries to save a file (by clicking on the save button in the quick access toolbar for word 2010) the save dialog comes up with the
    users local "Documents" folder as the path (not the correct sharepoint path where the document should be saved).  (I should say that we are creating the file from sharepoint by using a toolbar on the document library, with the new button)
    We are using a content type and a template attached to the document library when we create the file.
    This is really annoying because the user might not notice that the document is saving locally and not to sharepoint.  I have found a strange workaround which involves clicking the [File] tab on the ribbon in word 2010, then clicking "Save and Send"
    and then clicking the save button again.  At this point word 2010 seems to "remember" that it is trying to save document to sharepoint and shows the sharepoint document library.
    This is a real nuisance which could lead to documents being lost/misfiled if people don't realize that this is happening.  Can anyone help me?
    Thanks
    Kevin

    Saving files to SharePoint Document Library.
    For a test try this:
    Word 2010
    Disable all options in "Protected View"
    (-> Word Backstage -> Options -> Trust Center -> Protected View)
    Now you can create a new document in your document library. The
    save dialog comes up with the correct sharepoint path.
    Hope this helps

    What is the latency (measured via ping) between the App and SQL Server? SharePoint 2010 RTM hasn't been supported for quite some time. Upgrade to SP2 and see if it resolves the issue.

  • After SharePoint 2010 MOSS SP2 was applied problem with library preview

    Hi,
    I have recently applied SharePoint 2010 MOSS SP2 from here
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2687453/en-us
    After I have installed that service pack, one of my custom made library workflow for a department would not work when they Upload a document. It works if they create new documents from library menu, but not if they Upload a new documents.
    ULS Viewer gives following messages
    MetadataNavigationContext Page_InitComplete: No XsltListViewWebPart was found on this page[/_layouts/Upload.aspx?List=%.......Hiding key filters and downgrading tree functionality to legacy ListViewWebPart(v3) level for this list.
    MetadataNavigationContext Page_InitComplete: No XsltListViewWebPart was found on this page[/_layouts/UploadEx.aspx?List=%...... Hiding key filters and downgrading tree functionality to legacy ListViewWebPart(v3) level for this list.
    Some but not all taxonomy values were found, this can lead to the catch all being incorrect. Use TaxonomyField.SetFieldValue to update taxonomy values.
    Also, when I try to use Navigation in Site Settings, and if I want to add new navigation either link or folder, and if I use IE 8 or 9 (32 bit) in the pop up window Navigation Link - web dialog, there is no "OK" button.
    Thank you

    Hi Eric
    Thank you for helping me.
    I have already came accross this blog and it is now quite the same as my case.
    My navigation works without problem.
    Also, when I open the site in SP Designer, all views of my library show this library in XsltListViewWebPart.
    But this Upload.aspx, is a Form, not a view, and it shows the list in ListFormWebPart.
    Just to remind you, the workflow work fine if the use "New Document" menu from library ribbon. So, I assume something is wrong with Update form.
    This other form UploadEx.aspx, I do not see in SharePoint Designer for this Library.
    I am kind of suspicious that it maybe has something to do with
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2872441/en-us
    And am thinking of applying these

  • SharePoint 2010 Datasheet view problem - Office 2007 database engine download not fixing the issue

    We rolled out new laptops (Dell Latitude E7440)/desktops with 64-bit Windows 7 and 64-bit Office 2013 a couple of weeks ago. We installed the 2007 Access Database Engine to enable Datasheet views on our SharePoint 2010 site for our employees, and it worked
    before Thanksgiving. However, after the holiday, datasheet view is not working for anyone. I have my old 64-bit Dell laptop with 64-bit Office 2010/2007 Access Database Engine, and it still works there.
    I have tried the x86 2007 Access Database Engine, the 2010 Access Database Engine, the Office 2013 Access Runtime, with 32-bit and 64-bit IE (trying any combinations to see if I can get datasheet views to work).
    The one obvious difference is the new laptops have Office 2013. Has anyone run into this before, and is there a solution when the standard 2007 Access Database Engine download does not fix the datasheet view problem?

    Coworker figured it out. After the 2007 Access Database Engine is installed, go to Internet Explorer, Tools menu --> Compatibility View Settings, and add your SharePoint website to the list. Your SharePoint datasheet list views should start working
    after that. Might be something particular to Internet Explorer 11.

    Can anybody help me find a solution for this issue.
    Thanks

    After making sure that all services are up and running,  I had to deactive and activate the "SharePoint Server Site Search" web site collection feature.  Then the search started working for the time being.
    However, it throws the error again after 8 to 9 hours.  This has been happening for last couple of weeks.  I also came to know from my windows server team that they moved the AD from one place to another.  Since then I am having this issue.
    The log file has the following error:
