SharePoint 2013 Foundation error when uploading Excel files

Hello
I have a specific problem. I have an xlsx file that I cannot upload in SharePoint. Normally our SharePoint can upload Excel files and other file formats normally but this one has data with nearly 5000 rows. The size of the file is less then 500 KB. The error
message is: "The URL is invalid. Perhaps it refers to a nonexistent file or folder, or it refers to a valid file or folder in the current Web." When I am uploading this file I am getting the same error message in every library. When I save
the file as a 97-2003 compatible xls then it works. Sometimes even Excel files with Macros won't upload.
Kind regards
ivicapro1987

Hi,
This issue occurs when the Version column is configured as an Indexed Column.
To work around this issue, remove the Version column from the list of Indexed Columns for the list that has this issue. To do this, follow these steps:
Browse to the list where the issue exists.
In the ribbon, click the Library tab, and then click
Library Settings.
In the fields list, click Indexed Columns.
In the Indexed Columns list, click Version.
Click Delete, and then click OK.
Upload any files that you previously experienced the issue with.

  • Sharepoint 2013: Problem / Error when creating Variation Hierarchy for French and German Languages from Variation root EN

    Hi,
I have a website with English and Arabic Language Packs installed. I have the corresponding Variation heirachies created and the whole site collection is published.
Recently the client asked for french and german languages to be accomodated as well. So I followed the same approach I did for English and arabic (installed the language packs) for foundation, ran ocnfiguration wizard, installed server language pack &
    ran configuration wizard.
But after creating the variation label, when i try to create the variation heirarchy, I am getting the following error.
"Unknown failure when creating a variation of page http://server:port/en/pages/default.aspx in label /fr/Pages/default.aspx.
The Variations Create Hierarchies job failed with the following error message&  Unknown failure when creating a variation of site
    http://server:port/en in label fr."
Am not sure what is going wrong. Appreciate a feedback.
    Thanks,

    Hi,
According to your description, my understanding is that the error occurred when you created the Variation Hierarchy for French and German Languages from Variation root EN.
I recommend to check the Resources folder located at C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\Web Server Extensions\15 to see if the file core.fr-FR.resx exists in the folder.

  • FTP Delivery error when uploading big file

    Hi,
I've setup a Schedule with Delivery through SFTP. Usually (when the output size is not very big) it works fine.
However, when my report (pdf) is too big, the job's status remains "Running" forever. When I go to my FTP directory the file's size is always 91.906.794 bytes. I checked BI Publisher's cache and the generated output is there but its size is always bigger than 91.906.794 bytes. That file works fine when I open it in Adobe Reader.
Somehow, it seems that BI Publisher can't upload files bigger than 91.906.794 bytes but I can't find any maximum size in the documentation. And besides, I guess that if there was any maximum size, it should throw an error instead of getting stuck in "Running" status.
I'm running Oracle BI Publisher version 11.1.1.6.0 in Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 5.5 (Tikanga). I've tested this feature in 2 different servers and the result is exactly the same.
    Anyone had this problem?
    Thank you,
    Tiago

  • Error when uploading par files - Exception

    Hi all,
I'm getting an error when I try to upload any par file of the MSS package through the administration console. The error thrown is:

The error is displayed in the administration console. The logs don't say anything useful. I'm getting a few exceptions about finding archives and this error message: get data source CVERS failed! Trying SAP/BC_UME...
I have checked the rights to all directories and the directory structure. We're running EP6.0 with SP 9.
    Thanks for your time.
    regards,
    Dion

    Hi Dion,
i would think that SAP tries to stop uploads of par files which should be installed with them SDM or import of a whole package.
    Try the following :
    - rename the par file name from com.sap.... to something else...
    or :
    -  import the par into Developer Studio and change the project name
       change/delete the META-INF files
Another question : why do you want to install only certain elements of the MSS package ?
    Regards,

  • Error when uploading  BAI File (EBS)

    hi,
When im uploding the BAI file through FF_5, it  is displaying error as "The difference is too large for clearing".
In Reocrd 16, the BAI code is "195" for Wires In.
My understanding is, it is not picking  the Customer Invoice for clearing.
I gave the Same Invoice Amount in the File with Invoice Reference number in Record 16.
I checked Tolerance limits, they r fine.
Please let me know the solution  as soon as posible.
    I will the add points.

Just test the WDR_TEST_UI_ELEMENTS component and try to upload a file using upload element in above component.
If you still get same error for all file types
Perhaps someone incorrectly set the maximum request size parameter: ( icm/HTTP/max_request_size_KB )

  • Get different format error when opening excel file

    Hi,
In 10g form, I use CLIENT_OLE2 to generate an excel file on the client machine. Every time, I open the excel file, I get the error message, 'The file you are trying to open, 'my1.xls', is in a different format than specified by the file extension....'. However, I still can open the excel file. I am using excel 2007.
Could somebody please explain what the problem is? How should I solve this problem?
    Thanks for your help.
    neemin

I don't know that off the top of my head. When I have developed OLE code in Forms I found it very useful to make a Excel macro that did what I wanted to accomplish and the translate that to OLE code in Forms.
I encourage you to create a new forum entry for this second issue. Maybe someone else has done it and can give you a quick answer.

  • Error when uploading; the file name is invalid, or the file is too big

Hi, I have posted this topic also in this thread, but we are not getting any answer to this problem. Also, the existing discussion in this thread gives us no idea what to do.
We get the a.m. message when using the "FILE-UPLOAD" UI element only for selected users and for these only in IE8 and not in Firefox.
So we believe that the cause for the error is likely on the client side, especially in some IE settings.
Is there any advice available what to look for and where to check?
    Thanks in advance,
    M. Büttner

If anyone could help me overcome this error it would greatly be appreciated. Java questions here concern programming, not product support.
Connection reset by peer: socket write errorThat says that the server, where the file comes from, closed the connection.
    The most likely possibilities
    1. The client software is not correctly communicating with the server. Solution: fix the client
    2. The server is not correctly handling this request. Solution: fix the server
    3. The server doesn't want to talk the the client. Solution: fix both the server and the client.
From the above unless you are in a position to fix something then you do not have an option.
If you yourself cannot fix either of those then this is a vendor problem and you must contact the vendor (creator) of the software client and/or server. You would do that somewhere besides this site.

  • Error when uploading 300Mb file to file sharing - when will it be working again?

I've been trying to upload a 300Mb zip to deliver via file sharing for the last couple of days but each try ends with an error.
I've tried to drag and drop into Firefox and also directly via the CC desktop file folder - neither has been an issue in the past.
I've now sent the file with the free DropBox service with no issue at all.... as I'd run out of time.
I spoke to tech support in UK yesterday via telephone after waiting over a hour to be replied to on "Live Chat" support..... I was told the system had a fault that others were experiancing and I would receive an email when it was fixed.  That was nearly 24 hours ago.
Can somebody please tell me when it will be working again?  Will I really receive an email when it's fixed?
