"SharePoint Designer cannot display the item" error when edit workflow

Hi
I create workflow for sharepoint list in version 2007. Then upgrade sharepoint form version 2007 to 2010. Now when I want to edit this workflow, get this error:
“SharePoint Designer cannot display the item.
What you can try:
Click the Refresh button or press F5 to refresh the content from your site.
Go back to the previous page
Most likely causes:
The file has been deleted from the site.
The site is encountering problems.”

Hi,
Have you used custom activity in your workflow? We may come across this issue when we use custom activity. A workaournd is to modify the Workflows XOML file, and remove custom activity reference from it. And restart your SharePoint designer. See below blog.

Or a quick workaround is recreate the workflow in SharePoint Designer 2010.

That error often indicates a hardware failure.Try restoring a few more times. If it consistently gives you that error, make an appointment at the genius bar to have it looked at.

We are working on ECC 6, EHP 3, MSS Reports using LaunchPad.
When we try to see the report results, it gives us following error at below URL:

Most likely causes:
You are not connected to the Internet.
The website is encountering problems.
There might be a typing error in the address.
- I am connected to Net very well.
- Not sure abt website problems
- address shown in the address bar is mentioned above
Any idea what is wrong? We were earlier getting IAC exception, and added the permissions to overcome it.

Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage error urgent!

Hi,
I have created a OAF page. am displaying some report data in the page. The VO query is executing more thatn 20 min to get the records after tuning.
Now my problem is, am getting the error "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" in 10 mins after the VO query execution started. However, the DB session for this query is still executing at the backend and I am unable to get the same OAF page until the DB session completes.
Could you please help me in this?

There are two options here :
1) The correct one is to go via concurrent program , because as per web standards a web page should not take max of 3-4 minutes to render.
2) If you still wanna go via your present approach, you need to set profile ICX:Session Timeout which specifies Maximum idle time for the Oracle Applications user session(specified in minutes).

This page normally dont have back button ,
if u use browser back button some times it throws error,
Create a link on this page using personailization and call some function to navigate to the page which u want,
u can navigate u another page using the link instaed of using broeser back buton.

Win 7 upgrade causes intermittent IE 8 "Cannot display the webpage" errors

I upgraded my Touchsmart IQ846t from Vista Home Prem 64-bit to Win 7 Home prem 64-bit last week, 9/20/10.
After the upgrade there were about 40 - 50 Windows Updates that I also installed. About 2 days later I began having my problem. When I first bootup I have full access to the Internet. After 20 - 30 minutes, however, if I try to open, or reopen, IE8 I get the subject error. My internet connection, using a wireless broadband MiFi card, is still connected to the internet but IE8 won't open (Firefox and AOL won't either). The usual Microsoft diagnostics, FixIts, etc are no help. The only way to get IE back is to reboot.
Also, I have an HP laptop that was upgraded to Win 7 Home Prem 64-bit at the same time. It uses the wireless card to connect to the internet and has had none of the IE issues I am experiencing with the Touchsmart.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Lizzyb,
First, make sure you have the updated Win7 drivers for your wireless LAN. If you update the drivers and find that there are still issues, I would try a System Restore and go back to 9/20 (before installing all the updates) and verify that the hardware works with Win7.

I cannot display the block diagram when the VI is running

It is not possible to show the block diagram while the VI is runs. The frontpannel remains on the screen. When the VI is started from the block diagram, the frontpannel pops up and stays on the screen

Are the VI Properties >> Window Appearance... set to dialog or modal? That could keep the front panel on top.

Periodic Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage

while navigating in Apex users occasionally (and more frequently now) are getting "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" errors. if they click on refresh or back then click again it works.
i cannot find any errors in any log files that give me any indication why this is happening.
any help is appreciated.

Have not heard of this one. Would consider setting IE "Delete browser history on exit" if you have not already. And setting "Check for newer versions of stored pages" to every time I visit the webpage.

Close iTunes. Click the icon to start it, then press and hold down the left shift key. Keep holding until asked to choose or create a library. Choose the iTunes folder on your external drive. That should bring back all your playlists, ratings, play counts etc. You may have to settle for removing and reloading the media onto the device again. That's not too bad, but what you don't want to have happen is your apps being removed and reloaded as then you can lose settings and data. If that looks likely backup and then restore the device rather than sync it.
If for some reason rebuilding the library the way you did has moved files around then the restored library may have trouble finding things. If so post back and I'll explain what to do...

Error message "This program cannot display the webpage when uploading images to Cafe Press

I have had a Café Press shop for five years and except for sometimes being slow, no problems uploading images. Now, suddenly for 3 days I get the message "This program cannot display the webpage

I got the messsage about half way through the uploading of an image. People suggested using "firefox" instead of IE so I now get a similar error message from Firefox. I signed in, clicked on the image I wanted to upload and hit "upload" and get message as follows:
Server not found
Firefox can't find the server at members.cafepress.com.
* Check the address for typing errors such as
ww.example.com instead of
[url=http://www.example.com]www.example.com[/url]
* If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection.
* If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.
None of this makes sense because I WAS connected to the internet (obviously) or I wouldn't have been able to sign in, go to my media basket, browse for the image and click "upload" and watch as the progress bar showed percentage of upload such as 20%, etc. and even went to 100% at times before giving me the error message. Plus I couldn't make a typing error since I wasn't typing anything but uploading an image. Any suggestions?
Whatever your suggestion, I need step by step instructions as I am totally computer illiterate. I don't even know what a "proxy" is and don't know if I have a "firewall" as the message suggests. I have "Comodo" security and am using Windows XP.
I contacted CP which was no help at all. All they did was tell me to clear my cache which I do after every session. Thanks

Error while saving a workflow via sharepoint designer: Server-side activities have been updated. You need to restart SharePoint Designer to use the updated version of activities.

While saving a workflow using SharePoint designer on a SharePoint site, I get the following error:
Server-side activities have been updated. You need to restart SharePoint Designer to use the updated version of activities.
Steps to recreate error:
Login to the WFE server hosting IIS and workflow manager, open SharePoint Designer 2013 and login to a SharePoint site.
Access the list using SharePoint Designer 2013, in the workflow section, click new workflow.
In the new workflow dialog, enter workflow details, click save (see screenshot below).
Error message is displayed as below:
After restarting SharePoint Designer, the saved workflow is not seen in the site/workflows or list/workflow section.
Workaround
When the above steps are repeated while accessing the site via SPD from any other box besides the WFE/Workflow manager host server, the error is not encountered and its possible to save/publish workflows.
Notes
Workflow Manager 1.0 is installed.
The site has been registered with Workflow manager using Register-SPWorkflowService
cmdlet.

Please close your SharePoint Designer application, clear/delete the cached files and folders under the following directories from your server installed SharePoint Designer, then check results again.

"Outlook cannot perform search. Cannot display view." error coming up when searching shared calenders in Outlook 2010.

So I am having issues with the advanced find feature in Outlook 2010. When I goes to search a shared calender it gives me the "Outlook cannot perform search. Cannot display view." error. It is odd because it only does it with shared calenders
and only when a calender is selected. If I search my inbox it works fine. It also works fine when I first open Outlook and perform a search without selecting any calenders. If I select on it then gives me the error. I have tried resetting the views, I ran
cleanfinders and I went through this page (http://www.msoutlook.info/question/47) and rebuilt the index/scanned the pst/etc. Nothing seems to be working. I would appreciate some help if anyone knows why this would be happening.

Pst file size would not cause this and Outlook 2010 can have huge pst files as long as you use the new Unicode format.
If the problem is a corrupt view, cleanviews will clear it. I'm sure there are other causes besides corrupt views, but I can't think of any at the moment.
Does it work in Safe mode? To open Outlook in Safe mode: Close Outlook then hold Ctrl as you click on the Outlook icon. You'll get a message asking if you want to start in Safe mode. Click Ok.

I get an Error: "The system cannot find the file specified" when trying to print to PDF w/ Acrobat 9.5 using Windows 7. This just started happening after upgrading to MS 2013 suite and also installed Adobe Reader at that same time.
I had problems in the past when Reader was installed with Acrobat, so I uninstalled Reader, but the problem still seems to occur.

It goes something like this...
Put your new drive in the enclosure. Use Disk Utility to format it, etc. I'd give it a slightly different name than the original. Let's say you have Old Disk and New Disk as your drive names. Use Carbon Copy Cloner to copy Old Disk to New Disk. Now you should have an exact copy, which you can test by rebooting and holding down the Option key. Choose New Disk from the list and let it boot, make sure all is well.
Shut down and physically swap the drives. Take Old Disk and put it in the enclosure. Now your system has a new disk with a lot more space and you can reformat your old disk and just use it for large files or whatever.
