Sharepoint Foundation 2013 and Outlook 2010 Reminders
Hello, I have recently been informed by one of my users that they are experiencing a peculiar issue in regards to their SharePoint calendar. A brief history is that we are currently using SharePoint
Foundation 2013 with Outlook 2010, all of our users have calendars for their departments in SharePoint, and those calendars have been added to Outlook for their convenience. This particular user has a SharePoint alert set up on their calendar for all changes,
and receives an alert immediately. After some troubleshooting, this is how my user is getting the issue they described:
User1 will create an appointment from Outlook on the SharePoint calendar that User2 has their alert set up for. User2 will receive the appropriate alert email that there has been a new event
added to the calendar. User1 then receives an Outlook reminder that their event is coming up. If User1 clicks "dismiss" on that reminder, User2 will have another alert email generated hours later which informs them that the calendar event for User1
has been modified. If you view the event from SharePoint it will show a new modified time with User1's name, even though there have been no changes made. The other interesting part about the modified time is that it will not reflect when User1 clicked “dismiss”
on the reminder, instead it will reflect the time that the SharePoint alert email was generated.
This is not a fluke issue; I've been able to recreate the scenario 100% of the time if I follow this pattern. I can also simulate it on any calendar I create or that is already existing in our
environment.
I have been researching and trying to find an answer to this problem for several days now, but the only thing I have found is a post from someone else experiencing the same issue with no solution.
So any feedback would be greatly appreciated. If there is more information that is needed to better assist me, please let me know.
Thank you for your time.
Hello, if I remember correctly the issue was that I created the form with InfoPath 2013 and was trying to test using InfoPath 2010. This does not work.
Did you create the form using InfoPath 2013?

SharePoint Foundation 2013 and InfoPath Filler 2010
Hello, I am having an issue in which when I click to add a new document created in InfoPatht, I am taken to a page that says the following:
The webpage cannot be displayed
Most likely cause:
•Some content or files on this webpage require a program that you don't have installed.
What you can try:
Search online for a program you can use to view this web content.
Retype the address.
Go back to the previous page.
I confirmed that Office SP2 is installed on the machine. If I click on new document, on a machine that has InfoPath Filler 2013, it works fine. However, the users have InfoPath Filler 2010. The site has been added to the Local intranet and the trust on the
form is set to Domain trust.
Any Ideas as to what might be causing this???Hello, if I remember correctly the issue was that I created the form with InfoPath 2013 and was trying to test using InfoPath 2010. This does not work.

Hi Sir/Madam,
I try to connect the sharepoint foundation 2013 server by remote desktop recently using domain account, but it show the error message that mentioned in the subject. I can login the server using local account. Do I need to disjoin
the domain then rejoin the domain? Will there be any risk if I do this?
My SharePoint environment as below:
Primary domain : abc.local (DC : windows server 2012 standard R2)
SharePoint : SharePoint foundation 2013 and SQL Standard 2012 installed on a single windows server 2012 standard (not R2, joined domain "abc.local)
I tried this on DC > active directory user and compouter >right click Sharepoint pc > click reset > reboot sharepoint server, reboot sharepoint server but still cannot login using AD account
I also tried netdom command and powershell command "Reset -ComputerMachinePassword" also failed to reset the password.
Please help to resolve my problem. Thanks
JeffreyGo to Control Panel -> System -> under Computer Name, Domain, click Change Settings. Click on the Change button, then re-type the domain in the NetBIOS or FQDN format, which ever it is currently not set to. This will force a soft-join to the domain.

Automating Sharepoint Foundation 2013 Installation and Deployment of Project
Hi all,
I'm a long time software developer with absolutely no experience in Sharepoint.
I have just joined a new company and I was asked by the team leader to create an installer for Sharepoint Foundation 2013 and a working Sharepoint solution made by the company, preferably using HTA.
I have experimented installing it manually and deploying the solution, however, what's the best method to automate these two steps?
I was thinking of something like AutoSPInstaller, and after the end of the installation, I would run Add-SPSolution and Install-SPSolution commands for deploying the solution.
What do you think? So the only problem with SharePoint Foundation is that you cannot script the provisioning of the Search Service, you must use the wizard via Central Admin UI to create it. There is an unsupported workaround, but again, unsupported so I don't use it.
I'd stay away from HTA and go just pure PowerShell prompts, myself though.

MasterPages and SharePoint foundation 2013
Hi
I have created a web application in SharePoint Foundation 2013. I also have created multiple subsite.
I want to change the visual (branding) of the website (and all subsites).
I have created a custom masterpage and wanted to set it as the default master page. But when I do that, everything is now set with that custom masterpage (even the site setting pages, the viewlsts.aspx, settings.aspx).
Is there a way to bind masterpages only with the content pages of my website ?
Any links for info about that ?
Thanks
Richard Martin Web Developer / BI DeveloperHi marric01,
All of the site setting pages, the viewlsts.aspx and settings.aspx is the application page. An application page is an ASP.NET Web page that is designed for
use in a SharePoint Web site. Application pages are stored on the file system of the front-end Web server in the %ProgramFiles%\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\14\TEMPLATE\LAYOUTS directory and exist for every site in a Web application.
This folder is mapped to an Internet Information Services (IIS) virtual directory called _layouts. Every site and subsite will have access to the application pages by using the _layouts virtual directory.
The scenario you have seen is what SharePoint will do when set the master page through Site Settings->Master page. All the pages on the site will apply this master page.
The settings.aspx, viewlsts.aspx and upload.aspx. etc. are application pages, the difference between application page and content page is that: application page store in server 15/Template/Layouts folder, all applications in the SharePoint farm use the same
application page, while content page store in content database, each site use a unique page of them, you can update the page content in different site as you like.
SharePoint by default doesn’t provide a method to set different master page for application pages, and this is not recommended, even if you can change this through update the page directly in the layouts folder, whenever you change it, it will affect the whole
SharePoint farm, on all web applications.
If you really need to this, I would suggest you to custom the ribbon button to direct to your custom specific application page like settings page. The concern by doing this is the default settings page is still available, and if users access the page by typing
the url directly, he will see the default settings page.

Hi,
Thanks for the information. While waiting for help with this forum, I was playing with SharePoint Foundation 2013 and SharePoint designer 2013. I saw that I can bind custom masterpage for each page that I create.
(Style => Attach => Custom masterpage)
I also managed to bind subsite pages to that same custom masterpage.
Is this a good way to customize the look and feel of my SharePoint foundation 2013 website (We are building a small intranet for about 100 person).
Users are only gona be able to modify content inside the pages. We are (IT dept) the only one that can modify structure, add new pages and modify the look for the website.
Thanks again !

SharePoint Foundation 2013 Web Analytics
Problem:
I am using SharePoint Foundations 2013 (no patches) and trying to get Web Analytics working but running into difficulty. The error I am getting is the dreaded, "A web analytics report
is not available for this site. Usage processing may be disabled on this server or the usage data for this site has not been processed yet.", when I click on Site Settings -> Site Web analytics reports
Items completed:
Enabled Site Usage and data collection in Central Admin.
Logs are full of data in the hive
I can see the data in dbo.requestusage in the WSS logging database.
Possible problem is that Web Analytics has been deprecated in SharePoint 2013 however why would Microsoft have Web analytics link if it was deprecated.
Question:
How can I get Web Analytics to show data or has it been completely removed from SharePoint Foundations 2013 and the link is just there for frustration?
JayWe’re having the same Problem.
According to the following links, “Usage Analytics” and “Usage Reporting and Logging” are
available in SharePoint Foundation 2013:

http://blog.blksthl.com/2013/01/14/sharepoint-2013-feature-comparison-chart-all-editions/
Are they wrong?
I don’t mean the search related Reports (Most Popular Items), I mean the very simple Reports like
Number of Page Views, Number of Unique Visitors, Number of Referrers, Top Pages/Visitors/Referrers/Browsers (URL: /_layouts/15/usageDetails.aspx)

Subsite permission issues in Sharepoint foundation 2013
Hi,
I'm using SharePoint foundation 2013 and i'm having issue with the permissions on sub sites. I am owner of the primary site and the sub site inherits permissions, but I cannot edit the theme or upload files on the sub sites.
Is there anything i need to change somewhere else?
Thanks for the help
DavidHi,
Thanks for the reply. I think i have resolved the issue with uploading files. The issue with the sub site and themes is that when i go to "change the look" no themes appear at all. There are no errors just no theme options. I have
checked permissions and i am site owner for both root and sub sites.
thanks for the help.

I have two servers. One is Exchange 2010 and the other is Exchange 2013.
Three of our users had mailboxes on Exchange 2013 for the last few weeks with no problems. They used Outlook 2013 and Outlook 2010. After moving the rest of our ~25 users to Exchange 2013 the users with Outlook 2010 began to be prompted for their
password constantly.
They try entering it and it immediately reappears.
The odd thing is it shows connected and they are able to send and receive emails correctly.
I've tested our exchange connectivity using www.testexchangeconnectivity.com and all is well there.
I'm not really sure what's going on.
Any help is appreciated.
Luke
Thanks, Luke PickardThis can appear if Outlook clients are trying to connect to OAB virtual directory, and don't succeed for some reason. Mailbox and mailflow will work, but password prompt will appear when Outlook tries to contact OAB. Try to investigate in that direction.
Also, perform Outlook Configuration test (right click Outlook icon in task bar while holding CTRL and select Test email autoconfiguration.

SharePoint Foundation 2013 Feature Pack and Site Templates
I have created a site using a site subscription and a SharePoint Foundation 2013 Feature Pack ( used the SP Foundation Feature Pack Script here http://gallery.technet.microsoft.com/office/SharePoint-2013-Foundation-d3d1637f that
was created by Spencer Harbar)
When I go to create a sub-site, there are 3 site templates that are available that strictly speaking should not be for Foundation edition. When I try and create sites using those I get errors because the features needed from them are not part of the subscription.
The site templates available are:
Collaboration > Project Site
Enterprise > Document Center
Enterprise > Records Center
Does any one know why these would be displaying?Hello, if I remember correctly the issue was that I created the form with InfoPath 2013 and was trying to test using InfoPath 2010. This does not work.

SharePoint Foundation 2013 Prerequisite installer keeps installing and restarting the server
Hi,
I'm trying to install SharePoint foundation 2013 on Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard SP1.
I already install SQL Server 2012 SP1 and TFS 2013 on the server.
I don't have internet connection on the server so i install the next prerequisites manually:
SQL Server 2008 R2 SP1 Native Client
Microsoft WCF Data Services 5.0
Microsoft Information Protection and Control Client (MSIPC)
Microsoft Sync Framework Runtime v1.0 SP1 (x64)
Windows Identity Extensions
Windows Identity Foundation (KB974405)
Windows Management Framework 3.0
Then I ran the prerequisitiesInstaller.exe from command line -
prerequisiteInstaller.exe /appfabric:[Full AppFabric Installer path] /KB2671763:[AppFabric update path]
the prerequisiteInstaller start to run - after some steps it request for server restart, after the server upload the installer start again and after some steps it request for server restart.
This loop is never ending.
I tried to do some action to fix this issue:
http://spreza.blogspot.co.il/2013/05/sharepoint-2013-prerequisite-keeps.html
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/sharepoint/en-US/bccdb9f1-dd91-4db1-bd19-6bfa658727f5/sharepoint-server-2010-setup-keep-asking-for-reboot?forum=sharepointadminprevious
There is any reason or solution for this scenario?Have you checked the log to see at what point and what update is requiring the re-boot? I suspect one of your manually installed pre-requisites may be an older version and when it restarts it starts the regular automated installer, which is causing
the loop. Check the log for more specific errors. The installer creates the log in the following location %TEMP%\prerequisiteinstaller.<date>.<time>.log

SharePoint 2010 workflows randomly not firing in SharePoint Foundation 2013
Hi,
We recently upgraded a client from SharePoint Foundation 2010 to SharePoint Foundation 2013. They had several workflows on their 2010 site and would like to continue to use them on their 2013 site. In most cases the workflows are firing properly, but in
some cases the workflows don't fire at all and I see the following exceptions in the ULS logs when the list items get created (the workflow is set to fire on item created):
AutoStart Workflow: Microsoft.SharePoint.SPException: List does not exist. The page you selected contains a list that does not exist. It may have been deleted by another user. ---> System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException: List does not
exist. The page you selected contains a list that does not exist. It may have been deleted by another user.<nativehr>0x81020026</nativehr><nativestack></nativestack>
A few of the ULS log entries that correspond to the exception are listed below. It looks like when the workflow is about to get triggered then the timer service can't find the associated list for some reason and then the workflow fails. The really frustrating
part of this is that the probably occurs so randomly. It can happen for any user and sometimes it happens multiple times a day and sometimes is doesn't happen for weeks.
Anyone know why this might be happening?
