Hello,
Perhaps you could ask in Microsoft's ASP.Net C# forum:
http://forums.asp.net/37.aspx/1?C+
As Microsoft's ASP.Net forums are on a different platform, we cannot move the question for you.
Or, you could ask in the
SharePoint forums.

    I have Windows XP and Adobe 9 Reader and need to send a series of large documents to clients as a matter of urgency When I convert 10 pages a MS-Word file to Pdf this results in file of 6.7 MB which can't be emailed.  Do I combine them and then copy to JPEG 2000 or do I have to save each page separately which is very time consuming Please advise me how to reduce the size and send 10 pages plus quickly by Adobe without the huge hassles I am enduring

    What kind of software do you use for the conversion to pdf? Adobe Reader can't create pdf files.

  • New Pages, Save as Word File?

    In the new pages, that came with the mavericks update, how do you save as a word file?

    File > Export to > Word…

  • Pages hijacked my Word files

    I manage a few hundred MacBooks running 10.6.3. I'm not sure what happened, but whenever you double click a Word document, Pages opens it. I'm looking for a way to change that file association back to Word. Here's the kicker--I need it to be command line. GUI tools are not an option.
    I've tried rebuilding the LaunchServices database, but that didn't work. I imagine the issue can be fixed by tweaking the LaunchServices database or using lsregister, but documentation is hard to come by.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

    An invocation of "man -k plist" results in a mention of something called "PlistBuddy", which can "read and write values to plists". It has its own man page in section 8, evidently the "BSD System Manager's Manual". Unfortunately, it's not on the path on my system nor in the Developer hierarchy. Perhaps you can find a copy somewhere.
    Using the Property List Editor to open ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple/LaunchServices.plist shows a number if entries, each containing items "LSHandlerContentType" and "LSHanderRoleAll". The last one on my system has values of "com.microsoft.work.doc" and "com.microsoft.word". So one part of the exercise would be to identify exactly what values to put in that file for Word.

  • How to save a Pages document as a Word file

    I downloaded the new version of Pages hoping for better Word compatibility. To be honest I can't see any difference in the compatibility.
    Apple says on their page for Pages 5.0 that you can save Pages documents as Word files. "You can save Pages documents as Word files. Or import and edit Word documents right in Pages." Since they say "save" and not "export", I figured I could treat it like I would in Word. Do I still have to export the document or can I now just save it as a Word file without ending with duplicates?

    You have to Export.

  • Accessing linked Word files via Sharepoint

    Hi all,
    when using Sharepoint to host a RoboHelp project (via version control), is it possible to link to Word files that are hosted by sharepoint in the same library, perhaps even in other libraries? Maybe somebody can confirm whether this works.
    Robert

    Hi Robert
    Are you able to open the Word document using a standard URL in a browser? If so, and since RoboHelp doesn't appear to like it for whatever reason, perhaps you could use a trick I used to use back in my corporate days.
    Create a redirect page that opens the URL or the path. Basically you create an HTML page and modify the underlying code as follows:
    In the Head section somewhere (where doesn't matter) you insert a META tag that looks like this:
    <meta HTTP-EQUIV=refresh CONTENT="0;URL=First_Topic.htm">
    Just replace the part where it says First_Topic.htm with the actual path or URL that works.
    Cheers... Rick

    THis is safe for Mac's? Sorry, I have just never heard of this site before.
    And there are literally tens of thousands of sites of which I've not heard, too. Not this one.
    It's legit. There are lots of links in Apple Support Communities to the LibreOffice web site, as well as others that are legitimate open-source developers of options to buying MS Office, such as NeoOffice and OpenOffice. I have Open Office installed on one of my older Macs that can't run Office 2011 and it is rock-solid.
    I've been here too long to start posting bogus urls now.

  • How do I upload my resume when it's saved in Pages but needs to be send as a PDF or word file?

    How do I upload a document that has been created using pages as a PDF or Word file? When I attempt to upload it, the only choices I get are choices from my camera!!

    Tap on the wrench/spanner in the upper right of the document & then "Share & Print." You can then e-mail the document but I'm not sure how to upload to a web site from an iPad.

    It's either in local folders, as it seem you had been doing, or in icloud.  If you go into the mac's Pages and view the icloud files, you can drag on onto another to create a folder.  But you can only have folder one level deep, so you can't organize your files/folders like you can on a mac, using nested folder several levels deep.

  • Retrieve all items in a list by caml query then write it to a word file page by page

    Dears,
    Greetings
    I have some code which will retrieve all items of a list with caml query.
    Now i want to generate a word file with all these retrieved data. I am using foreach here to get all the items in a SPListItemCollection. Now my question is how i can write all the retrieved items inside the word file?
    see the below code which is writing only the last row item of the SPListItemCollection inside word file. I want to write all the retrieved rows inside this word file.
    SPQuery qry = new SPQuery();
    qry.Query = "<Where><Eq><FieldRef Name='Department' /><Value Type='Text'>HR DEPARTMENT</Value></Eq></Where>";
    SPListItemCollection listItems = KPILIst.GetItems(qry);
    foreach (SPListItem item in listItems)
    lblBadgeNo.Text = item["Badge No"].ToString();
    lblName.Text = item["Name"].ToString();
    lblPosition.Text = item["Position"].ToString();
    lblDept.Text = item["Department"].ToString();
    lblHireDate.Text = item["Hire Date"].ToString();
    lblGrade.Text = item["Grade"].ToString();
    lblCurStatus.Text = item["Status"].ToString();
    string FinalOut = "";
    FinalOut = "<table cellpadding=0 cellspacing=0><tr><td style='height:30px;'></td></tr><tr><td style='height:22px;'></td></tr>";

  • ID only imports the first word of a 233 page word file (a novel)

    Folks!
    I've tried the old FIle-Place  make a text box and shift+enter..... and I ONLY get the first word of a 60,000 document.  Why?
    I need help ASAP!

    There are a lot of possibilities causing the problem, probably it is caused by some formatting done in Word.
    What text styles are used in Word? Do they have some break options? Repair them in Word.
    Are text boxes/frames used in Word? Remove them in Word.
    Is in Word some kind of break inserted (section, page, column, …)? Remove them in Word.
    But also important:
    When you import the Word file, do you select the import options during import? Do it!
    In InDesign is a character style selected before importing, before choosing the text tool? Don't.
    Because we don't know the source of the Word file it is hard to tell you what it is. A huge problem are Word files which have been converted from PDF or other programs.
    I would try to get rid from any Word imported formatting. Imported styles from Word I would never use in InDesign, I import them often, but I have my own styles predefined in InDesign. After importing I delete step by step the Word formatting. I know, I could map the Word Styles to existing InDesign styles, but in my experience some unexpected things are happening when the Word file comes from someone else than me, because a lot of people have only limitted knowledge when it comes to Word styles and document structure.

  • Word insert object vi only inserts first page of multipage rtf file?

    Hi,
    I need to insert a multi-page rtf file into my report template.  In Microsoft Word, this is achieved by selecting 'Insert, Object, Text from File', which inserts all pages of the rtf file.  How is this achieved in the LabView Microsoft Report Generation Toolkit?  When I use the insert object vi, it only inserts the first page of the rtf file?  I've tried other insert methods but insert object is the only vi that keeps the formatting (i.e. rtf file contains tables).
    In summary, I can insert an rtf file as an object to a bookmark, but only the first page of the rtf file is inserted.  Does anyone know how to insert a multi-page  rtf file?
    Regards,
    Allan
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hello Allan,
    It looks like that functionality is not included within the Report Generation Toolkit.  It is possible to produce the desired behavior through ActiveX commands.  I was able to create some sample code that successfully inserted a multipage RTF file into a report.  I did this by using the Word._Document reference to generate a Word.Range reference.  The Range reference has an InsertFile method.  This seems to input the file at the proper location.
    Could you give this a try and let me know how it goes?
    Also, just so you know, you are using an unsupported configuration of MS Office and LabVIEW.  Most of the functionality should work, but there might be some glitches.
