SharePoint Page loading slowness

After our company went through some acquisition process windows team established a two-way trust relationship between our DC and theirs. But, I suspect due to greater distance between the location of two data-centers users from both side experiencing a significant
page load slowness. There is a plan to merge two data-centers in near future but I'm just wondering if someone has any idea how we can overcome this while waiting?
Thanks,

Hi,
I don't think so DC distance is going to be the issue. Enable Developer dashboard to see the queries running on the page which could help you to identify the issue better

  • Web pages load SLOW on IPad: how to disable DNS prefetching; other ideas?

Brand new IPad 16 GB WiFi + brand new Airport Extreme in bridge mode. Comparing IPad web page load speeds with side-by-side WinXP computer running IE8. Any web site will do: take www.apple.com if you want.
Problem: IPad web pages generally load much too slowly compared to IE8 on a computer 6 inches away on the same Airport Extreme network. Maybe twice as slow at worst, occasionally not much slower, but generally pathetic and annoying. WiFi signal strength is "excellent". Airport Extreme network is working great with all my (Windows) computers and devices except the IPad.
I already switched to OpenDNS on my Airport Extreme; didn't help noticeably. I would like to try disabling DNS prefetching in Safari, but don't know how to do it on the IPad. Question #1: How do I disable DNS prefetching? Question #2: Any other suggestions for this embarrassing (to Apple) problem?

I'm experiencing a similar problem with a new iPad 2 using iOS 4.3.3 connected to the Internet via Time Machine to a DSL line.  The Speedtest X HD App shows the connection speed to be fine (about .6 Mb / s).  The problem is only with accessing web pages.  I frequently get a "server not responding" msg.  There is no problem when I connect the device via USB to an iMac, only through wifi.  The iMac itself (Intel with OSX 10.6.7) periodically experiences problems (both Firefox and Safari):  I have learned to solve it by cleaning out cache and fixing disk permissions periodically.  I've tried cleaning out cache on the iPad, deleting cookies and erasing web history, but that doesn't seem to make any difference.  The problem reminds me of an old VNC problem:  you had to allocate a large amount of cache or streaming would stall.  This is also happening with the iPad 2.  Maybe the problem is a DNS channel issue but my impression is that it is somehow related to a memory or cache issue with the iOS device or to Airport.  I've occassionally experienced similar slow page loading problems with other Airport connected devices--it varies from device to device.  It seems to be a client-side software or caching problem.

  • EM Composite Pages Loading Slow

After months of using the EM with reasonable response times, our EM has just started to load extremely slow when you click on Composite Applications to view their details.
If I click on anything under Application Deployments, or Right-Click on soa-infra and select menu items, those pages load quickly. It seems to be only related to Composite Applications under Farm_base_domain -> SOA -> soa-infra.
In addition, the Console seems to be working just fine. Our MDS tablespaces are not full and our Oracle/Middleware disk is not full. We are using 11.1.1.1.0
I do not see anything out of the ordinary in the log files.
    Does anybody have any ideas?
    Thanks in advance,
    Jeremy

    Hi Jeremy,
We do have same problem as you have, we do uses the SOA 11g 11.1.1.2.0 from Dec 2009 (we moved from 10g to 11g).
By any means do you have resolution for these probelms?.
Otherwise; can anybody help us on the below?
    We are having the belows:
    1. SOA Server 11g startup takes around 15 to 20 minutes.
    2. Page loading of em console takes around 5 to 10 minites.
    3. Accessing Deployments section in WEB Logic server console takes aroung 5 to 10 minutes to show the list of components under it.
Please provide us with some tips to overcome these problems.

  • WRT54GS - Web page loads slow or not at all

My parents have two wireless laptops accessing their WRT54GS.  Both receive excellent signal strength.  Web pages load at normal speed for the first unit to access the internet on their network.  However, the web pages will take forever or not load at all for the second computer, despite the fact that the signal strength to the second computer remains excellent.  It does not matter which connects first and which is second; the problem still occurs.
I might mention that the computers and the router were purchased on Dec. 23, so everything should be current, with the exception of the 12/28/06 firmware release for the router.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated!

hi...you can try different wireless settings on the router...
    channel -- 1,9 or 11
    under advanced wireless settings ,
    beacon interval  - 75
    frag threshold    -  2304
    RTS                   -  2304
if this does not make any difference then upgrading the firmware could help you....

  • Is there any advanced feature of Adobe Flash released to lower the page loading slow down rate...?

Any advanced feature of Adobe Flash to embed in my site
Hi! My site is basically based on providing share market tips covering finance market. The site was recently migrated from the old look to a new look for a professional view. To make the home page wear a professional look, I am displaying a video like screen for news headlines organising images into jquery effect. But what I experienced so far this jquery effect is slowing down the home page at the time of loading (plz refer the screen shot below). You can check it  at Puntercalls Homepage .  I'm sure if I embed the normal flash feature in palce of this jquery, it must slow down than the former.
So what I exactly want to know is if there is any advanced feature of Adobe Flash by which the homepage won't slow down while loading.
Kind suggestions are greatly appreciated in advance!
The screenshot of slower loading as the result of jquery effect:

If you just want to change the way that the photo section works, then, it is most likely that a Flash version of the photo display might be smoother and faster to play than the jquery version that you are now using. Its difficult to guarantee a result. You have 10 css libraries and 8 js libraries that are called along with a good bit of inline js that is running on this site. So it will be difficult to say how quickly or smoothly a Flash .swf file will download and play.
I'm guessing that Flash will be faster, but then I also think that going door to door and handing people a print of the photo would be faster than the jquery file that is running. You may want to look at the possible interference that you have on the current site between the various js and css files that are trying to display the content.

  • Blog page loads slow and scrolls wierd on windows operating systems

I have 2 sites in my iweb with 2 different domains, I started a blog page as a new site and pulished it but when I go to a PC to read it loads really slow and when you scroll down it takes forever even after explorer shows the site as done loading. I tried a couple different PC's from different places and I get the same result. My other page , the 1st site I created, loads just fine and you can scroll through it just fine. what I am doing wrong on the second site?

Blog pages tend to have a lot of content and this can prove too much for poor old IE. Either reduce your content or optimize your files before uploading.

  • Safari 6.0.1 page loading slow or not at all

    Friends,
I have scoured the message boards of many self help communities and cannot find a great deal to resolve my question and that of many others -  Safari taking ages to load a page or not at all - having to hit reload several times to get the page to load. I have tried Firefox and Chrome with no problems on the same web pages. This has only started in the last week or so. I am on OS 10.8.2. I have treid the following solutions which do not work for me:
    Resetting Safari
Manually and with software dumping of Safari and Java caches
    Disabling all Extensions
    Removing all Website Data
Removing Safari's folder to create a complete new one in ~Library
    Changing DNS
    Turning off Prefetch DNS
    Checkiing for virii
    Turning off virus software
    Starting up in Safe Mode
    Repairing Permissions
    Repairing Prefs
Starting up in a Test Guest account
    Unsyncing Safari from iCloud
Making sure of my router having the latest firmware
All to no avail. Anything I am missing here in an attempt to solve this issue?
Thanks for reading this and cheers for now,
    sam

Select  ▹ System Preferences ▹ Network. If the Network preference pane is locked, click the lock icon in the lower left corner and enter your password to unlock it. Then click the Advanced button and select the Hardware tab. Select  Configure: Manually and MTU: Custom. Enter an MTU value of 1280. Click OK and then Apply. Test.
You must apply the change before it takes effect.
If the issue is resolved, experiment with higher MTU values until you find the highest one that works. The higher the MTU, the better the network interface will perform.
If changing the MTU has no effect, restore the Configure setting to Automatically.

  • Pages loading slowly

I've had issues off and on with my Mac and the internet. I recently installed a new router(Monday) and all seamed great for the first day or so. On Wed I was having internet access problems AGAIN, ugh! I re-set the router and cable modem and it worked OK for a few hours and then Wed night it wouldn't connect to the internet again. The Mac was telling me I was connected to the network but Safari would not load internet pages. So I disconnected the router and went straight from the Modem to the Mac. Now it works, but its very slow. When I click the Safari icon, it takes 5-10 seconds to load my home page and typically 5-10 seconds to go from site to site. This sort of activity used to only take like a second, moving from page to page was almost instant. I'm trying to figure out if this is my cable modem or my Mac or my router or what? I've tried to re-set the modem a couple times and Safari is still acting this way.
So, how do I diagnose this problem? Is there somewhere I can look in the Mac system to let me know if connections are all working and what strength signals its receiving and all that?
When I go into "system preferences" and look at network it says "ethernet connected" and shows an IP. Beyond that, I'm not sure what I can look for.
I know "PC's" need to be "defragmented" and "cleaned" from time to time, do Macs have a similar function that needs to be done to maximize its operating ability?
    Any ideas would be great.
    Thanks!

    Previous suggestion did not help.
I have tried to run "verify permissions" and "repair permissions", doesn't seam to help. I have re0set Safari several times to get rid of "cookies" and "cache". I tried calling Comcast to see if there were internet issues and by all their checks I have a great signal.
Still having issues with pages loading slow and big problems when I try to use a wireless router.
Comcast tech mentioned since my system is about 6-7 yrs old and only has 2GB "memory" or "SDRAM" it may be slow because my system and all my "programs" or "applications" may be using too much RAM now causing the internet pages to load slow. Does this even seam logical or possible?
The only new things I have done since I installed the router on Monday were I connected my new Wii to the router and I upgraded FCE. I have since disconnected the Wii (thinking maybe that was slowing it down). So the only big program I have even added in the last couple weeks since my problems have been getting really bad is FCE. Could this really be slowing it down this much? Plus I didn't notice a slow down until Thursday and FCE had been on the computer for a week?!
Do I need to just take the computer to the Apple store and have them go through it? Would that help? Is it worth it?
I have no idea why all of a sudden I get slow internet and have all these problems when trying to connect through a wireless router?
    Any thoughts?

  • Pages VERY slow to load since downloading Firefox 6.0. How do I fix or reinstall old version please!

Since I downloaded the latest version - 6.0 of Firefox, I am having serious slowness of page loads. Nothing has changed in my PC or Network configuration and in the past have had very fast loading of everything - even streaming of videos, etc. The only thing I found in your help about all pages loading slowly was something about a proxy add ons issue - but I don't have that enabled. It seems to be even worst when I am submitting a form -

Is that the answer to everything. How about a real fix. Pages refuse to load. If you hit the stop loading page button and then hit refresh, the page will load. If you don't the page will try to load forever. I left a page for over a hour and it never did load. If Firefox releases one more update like this I'm done. I tried to go back to Firefox 5.0, but now whatever they did to screw up 6.0 is doing the same to 5.0. I tried deleting Firefox and starting over with a fresh install for both, but still just garbage. Also, the whole time I've been typing this another page in another tab as been trying to load. Is Firefox updating without testing this stuff because there is a security problem? Rats!

  • Pages are slow to load or stop loading

Once I'm connected to wi-fi, my pages are slow to load or stop loading and tell me 'I'm not connected".

If you are having the problem on more than one computer it would appear not to be a computer fault or your browser that is the problem.
The first thing I would do is a factory reset of the homehub by pressing a pin into the recess button on the rear for about 20 seconds. This can often sort out problems and will also give you a "clean sheet" to start some diagnostics from.
If this doesn't help please post what Infinity package you are on, I assume with 18Mbps it's Infinity 1 but please confirm, and do you have an Openreach modem and what homehub you have.
Also run this checker and post back a screen shot of the results
    http://www.dslchecker.bt.com/adsl/adslchecker.welcome
and use this speed tester then carry out the further diagnostics and post back a screen shot of all the results including your IP profile for up and down. This test must be done with a wired connection.

  • Guest Portal web page load is slow and timesout on occasions

    Hi All,
I'm hitting a rather unusual issue with our Guest WLAN users.  Firstly let me describe the topology:-
2 x 5508 WLC controllers one Foreign and one Anchor.  Mobility tunnel between the two WLC's as the Guest WLAN is on the WLC sitting in the DMZ.
30+ 2702i AP's running in FlexConnect mode for Dot1X WLAN and Central Switching for Guest WLAN.
Cisco ISE 1.3 acting as Radius server and providing Authentication and Authorisation policies.
Dot1x Authentication and Authorisation works fine with Dynamic VLAN assignment based on AD memberships.
The issue is with the Guest WLAN is that from a security perspective we weren't allowed to use the Central Web Authentication using L2 MAC filtering with the L3 Security of None as described in Cisco Document: 115732.
So the Guest WLAN has been set up with no L2 security and the L3 Security of Web Policy with Web Authentication to External Server i.e. Cisco ISE and RADIUS override on the Advanced tab of the Guest WLAN.
So a client connects to the Guest WLAN SSID > receives the DHCP IP address hosted by the Anchor WLC and then one opens a  browser types in the URL and the Security message is presented > Continue to this website (not recommended) selected and the process of receiving the Web Redirect Sign On Web page begins and hangs around forever.
Depending on the Client i.e. Apple IPAD the sign on page loads correctly although can be slow to start with but a successful login is completed, but with windows clients and MAC Air books there is an issue with the browser either timing out the page and a retry is necessary or we can't move beyond the following page -  https://x.x.x.x:8443/portal /PortalSetup.action?portal=194a5780-5e4e-11e4-b905-005056bf2f0a?switch_url=https://1.1.1.1/login.html&client mac=00:23:4e:86:98:3c&wlan=GUEST&redirect=www.cisco.com/
Any suggestions would be really appreciated with this as it's creating a lot of frustration.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Mark

    Hi Mark,
Yes Guest Cert will need to be external. Because Guest Users if they have a non-corporate laptop for example will not have your Internal Company Certs installed in their browser (that you loaded onto ISE), so they cannot trust your internal Cert.
If your open Firefox or IE under Options/Security View Certificates you will see a list, if its a Guest you will see well known public Certs like Geotrust, Verisign etc.
For my setup I brought a GeoTrust cert and loaded this into ISE, this way Guests will always Trust the Geostrust ISE cert like https://guest.com for example and the login will appear and be trusted.

  • Slow web page loads on Mac, but not for PC

I use a D-Link wireless router (DI-524) for my PowerBook G4 15" and my roommate's Dell PC. Very recently I seem to get very slow web page loads with some pages not even loading at all.
Airport is consistently connected with no drops at all and when I'm downloading something it never gets interrupted the whole way through.
My roommate's PC has no problem whatsoever and all of the web pages that he visits load instantly. It seems that my main problem is with web pages.
I've tried doing a clean install on my Powerbook, I've tried resetting the router (I've tried upgrading the firmware but the router decided it didn't want to work with the new version). And surprisingly, I get the same slow speeds when I hook up my Powerbook to my router via ethernet cable. The only time my speeds are perfectly fine is when I hook up my Powerbook directly to the wall (I dorm in a university so we have a T3 line).
Can someone please give me some advice on this very frustrating issue?

In addition to Neds suggestions, empty the Safari cache (which should be empty after a clean install).
Goto the Safari Get Info screen (in Finder or in Dock if you have Safari there), click the triangle on languages, and disable those you don't use.
My Safari response time was significantly slowed after the 10.4.5 update, and using the combo updater took care of that. The 10.4.6 combo update is located here.

  • Web pages loading EXTREMELY slow

It takes FOREVER for any web page to load (we're talking like several minutes even to load Google search), but it shows I have full signal strength. However, my husband's MacBook is functioning fine as well as his PC which all use the same network. I have an AirPort and AirPort extreme. I've even tried directly connecting to the AirPort extreme to see if that would help the speed problem, and it did--but only for a few minutes. After that, it displayed the same problems as before--MIND-BENDINGLY SLOW page load. I've cleared the cache, history, renew DHCP, reset the router... everything I can think of and still to no avail.
This all started happening after I was using my MacBook to connect my XBox360 to the internet and had to change some of the MacBook settings. I have since restored all the settings and turned off Internet Sharing.
I took it to the Genius Bar, twice, and they said it has to be my network, because it connects and loads pages at lightning speeds when I'm on the Apple Store network. Ugh. This is sooo frustrating and has basically rendered my mac useless.
    Ideas?

Here are a couple things you can try:
    1) If possible, bypass your router, and connect directly to your cable/dsl modem.
    2) Try a different DNS (domain name server). This can resolve the problem if the slowness stems from looking up (i.e. "contacting") the web server. You are probably currently using the DNS of your ISP. Since your husband is not experiencing the problem, this might be a stretch, but still worth a shot. You can try OpenDNS (https://www.opendns.com/start/)

My page loading speed has slowed to a crawl with OS6.  Anybody else having this problem?  I feel like I have a dial up connection.

could be hardware, could be software.

  • Web pages loading unusually slow. Load fine in alt browser

Web pages on numerous sites very slow to load. Even coming to Firefox to report. Including some pages coming up error as if there is no connection. I tried alternative browser and the pages load fine. I could have stayed on that browser but ff has always been my goto.
    I have a nexus 7 (suppose I should say 1st gen now) running 4.3.

There are some problems with the new Android version (4.3), they should be fixed very soon (12-24 weeks), there is a solution, use firefox nightly, the superbeta version of firefox 26.

    Does the nightly work better?
