SharePoint Security Bulletin same downloads......

This SharePoint Security Bulletin has 4 same download available on below site....which we should download?
https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/security/ms14-050.aspx

There are versions for SharePoint Foundation, SharePoint Server, SharePoint Foundation SP1 and SharePoint Server Sp1. Pick the option that best describes your environment.
You shouldn't need to install the Foundation and Server patch for MS14, just the Server package should suffice.

    Hello,
I donc think that the security are cumulative but ,according to this post from stefan gobner
http://blogs.technet.com/b/stefan_gossner/archive/2014/07/10/common-question-on-hotfixes-security-updates-and-non-security-related-public-updates.aspx , it seems that the cumulative SharePoint contains the security updates, so if you keep you have the ltest
CU, you should have all the security fix released before
    Best regards, Christopher.

  • SharePOint Security Updates/Bulletins?

By installing SharePoint 2013 Security Bulletins mean no need to install previous updates or do we need to install all old security bulletins as well?
    Tariq Younas

Assumes by Security Bulletins you mean Service Pack or Cumulative update. In both the case no need to install previous ones.
In both the  case you need to test it in non production to verify it wont affect any of your SharePoint systems.

  • Adobe AIR 13 Runtime Security Bulletin for Windows or Mac

According to 5/13/2014 - Release - AIR 13 Runtime and SDK, the update for Adobe AIR 13 on 5/13/2014 includes fixes and security updates "Security update details can be found here: Security Bulletin (APSB14-14)", we have two questions:
    1. Why the Adobe Air 13 runtime for Windows and Mac is not listed in the security bulletin APSB14-14, like APSB14-02?
    2. Was the version released before Adobe AIR 13.0.0.111 for Windows Adobe AIR 4.0.0.1390 or Adobe AIR 13.0.0.83?
    Thanks!

MacWorld did a comparative evaluation of the October 2008 MBA with 1.86 GHz processor and the Mid-2009 MBA with 2.13 GHz chip. Their conclusion was that that 1.86 CPU was actually FASTER than the 2.13 in most applications.
    http://www.macworld.com/article/141296/2009/06/macbookairmid09.html
They speculated that the 2.13 chip was being throttled by Apple to control heat issues and that's why it tested SLOWER than the (supposedly) slower 1.86 part.
Have to wait for testing of these new MBA units to know if the same thing occurs. But, for the Rev. B and C MBAs, the 1.86 part was actually faster in real world use!

Help me in the issue, Asp dot net exe which run from server in IE 8 window 7 32 bit client machine show security file save download message. This app was running fine if we don't apply any window 7 or IE8 patches. same issue when running in
IE9. I already run the caspol, add the server link to trusted site with low security. I wonder why it was working fine without any patches.
I just found that client machine win 7 32 bit has dot net 4.5.1 installed when updated all the patches. after uninstall the dot net 4.5.1. the application worked fine. now I wonder what are the settings need to change to run the application with dot net 4.5.1

    Hi Gparhar,
In case you are posting on .NET setup forum, I suspect it is not the right forum for your issue, we talks about "setup and deployment of .NET Framework.", if you have problem on installing and uninstalling .NET 4.5.1, we can share you some advice.

  • Parsing Microsoft Security Bulletin Web Pages

I have been tasked with determining which bulletings are pertintent starting in 2013 to the present.  I am placing a link to the bulletin and other information on a spreadsheet.  I have a reference to the Internet Controls in my project.
I need to determine which operating systems for each bulletin.
I have been able to parse the security bulletins page by year (https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/security/dn631924.aspx) to get the next level of the bulletin
    (https://technet.microsoft.com/library/security/ms13-106).
My problem has come in parsing the affected software table.  Not all the bulletins have the same formatting from year to year or even within the same year.
I have been useing the DOM explorer in IE to help me find all the parts, but I have found many of the tags (table name) are empty so I am having to check each and every line and element to find the information I am looking for.
My code is ending up with a number of if/elseif type of checks and is getting very complicated.  Does anyone have a solution for this already or am I missing something?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Shu Hu,
I am able to parse the table and find all the tr tags.
The problem I am having is the different layouts used on the web pages.
The pages for the security bulletin's for 2013 (https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/security/ms13-106.aspx)
are a different format from the bulletin's for 2014 (https://technet.microsoft.com/library/security/ms14-085).
Initally I thought I could find just tables but the table I am looking to parse is not the same index from page to page.  I thought I could use the table name attribute but that was not populated.  I started looking at each elelement on the HTML
page until I found the text "Affected Software." Once I found the tag in the innerText field I looked for the next table to process the rows.
I was hoping that the formatting would be the same from year to year but it is not so I was looking to see if there was a solution already but it does not look that way.
I will take a closer look at the article you provided to see if that will help.

  • Errors with SharePoint Security Token Service: "The revocation function was unable to check revocation for the certificate"

I'm getting these errors in the eventlog and ULS, "An operation failed because the following certificate has validation errors:\n\nSubject Name: CN=SharePoint Security Token Service, OU=SharePoint, O=Microsoft, C=US\nIssuer Name: CN=SharePoint Root
Authority, OU=SharePoint, O=Microsoft, C=US\nThumbprint: <STS CERTIFICATE THUMBPRINT>\n\nErrors:\n\n RevocationStatusUnknown: The revocation function was unable to check revocation for the certificate."
The errors point to the SharePoint Security Token Service as the issue ("The revocation function was unable to check revocation for the certificate") reported back by the Topology service.  This is apparent when executing a search, accessing
the managed metadata service, issuing SPSite commands in Powershell, or anything that needs to run through the "SharePoint Web Services" site.  I've looked at the certificate assigned to that site and everything appears to be in order.
It would seem to me to be either an incorrect endpoint configuration (internally cached perhaps?) or related to security access for the configuration database (in order to validate the certificate root).
    What I’ve tried so far:
I’ve been all over the certificate settings, both in the server store, and within SharePoint Token Service config.  Both appear to be configured correctly such that the root CAs can be validated.
Re-entered the passwords for the application pool domain accounts to eliminate these as a potential cause.  I’ve also verified the service accounts reporting the error, do have access to the configuration database.
Re-provisioned the STS service to see if that might clear out any cached issues and validated everything else according to this
    MS Tech note.
So far nothing has worked.  Is there anything else I could be looking at that I've missed? (Full eventlog detail below)

    Hi Darren,
This problem seems to occur when an administrator deletes the local trust relationship of the farm from the Security section of the Central Administration website
In order to resolve this problem, the local trust relationship has to be created. This can be done by running the following PowerShell commands
    $rootCert = (Get-SPCertificateAuthority).RootCertificate
    New-SPTrustedRootAuthority -Name "localNew" -Certificate $rootCert
After running the above commands, perform an IISReset on all servers in the farm.

  • Downloaded mavericks for one mac can i use the same download to install on another mac

I have downloaded for 12 hours initial installation on one mac for mavericks, and all installed successfully. Rather than download again for another mac, can I use the same download and copy on to the other mac..and if yes, where will I find it?

All you need to do is go to System Preferences > App Store and uncheck the automatic install of updates box, then download the Mavericks installer, and copy to a flash drive.  You will need a flash drive of 8 G B or more since the installer is around 5.3 GB.  The installer will be in Finder > Applications.  You can then copy that flash drive installer to the Applications folders in all the Macs you have that are capable of running Mavericks, http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5842.
When the installer runs, the last step in the installtion is for the installer to erase itself.  So makng a copy before the installer runs is essential if you want to avoid redownloading.
Installing from the same installer does not cause problems for Macs on the same network.

  • How do i reset the security questions on downloads

anybody know how to reset the security questions on downloads im trying to download a new album and it wont let me get thru security questions

Click here for information. If you can't reset them through the method described in that article or by sending yourself a rescue email(the email may take a few hours to arrive), contact the iTunes Store staff via the link in the 'Additional Information' section.
It isn't possible to create a rescue email address without correctly answering two of the questions. Nobody on these boards can reset them for you.

  • Adobe Acrobat 7 Security Bulletin

    http://www.adobe.com/support/security/bulletins/apsb06-20.html
Critical vulnerabilities have been identified in Adobe Reader and Acrobat 7.0 through 7.0.8 that could although Adobe is not aware of any specific code exploits at this time allow an attacker who successfully exploits these vulnerabilities to take control of the affected system.
Adobe Reader 7.0 through 7.0.8 and Adobe Acrobat Standard and Professional 7.0 through 7.0.8 on the Windows platform when using Internet Explorer. Users of other browsers are not affected.
More information available at the above link.

If there are form fields, then whoever added them probably used the forms menu, not the Acrobat form fields. Thus the PDF was converted to Designer and you are out of luck. The FORMS button found in various places in Acrobat 7 and latter takes you to Designer, not the Acrobat form tools. The latter are located in the tools menu.

  • Domain Users AD group disappearing from SharePoint security

After applying SharePoint 2010 SP2 and the September 2014 cumulative update (KB 2883103) to our SP2010 farm, we've discovered the system is automatically removing the 'Domain Users' active
directory group from SharePoint security.  It's not affecting any other AD groups or users or when Domain Users is a member of a SharePoint group.  Only when Domain Users has been explicitly added to a site, library, list or document.
For example, we give Domain Users access to the root of most our site collections and then break inheritance for certain libraries or lists that need more security.  Now Domain Users has disappeared from every site.  I can say
with 100% confidence that this has not been done by anyone in the organization.  Nothing else changed besides SP2 and Sept2014 CU.
Yesterday we fixed a few sites by re-adding Domain Users.  This morning those were missing again, so it must be a timer job or other cleanup process that is causing this.  Again, this does not affect SharePoint groups/membership or any other
    AD object, only Domain Users.
Has anyone ran into this issue or have any suggestions on a resolution?  We have enabled audit logging but have not seen any related logs yet.

Sometime between noon and 1:00pm this afternoon we lost the Domain Users group again from all sites where we re-added it.  Audit logging is showing this for one particular site:
    {072c340a-42cb-4861-a182-38102b53bc52}

Does anyone know if any additional logging can be enabled to see WHY this is occurring?
So far our solution has been to setup another AD security group and nest the domain users security group inside.  Not exactly a solution but at least a work around.
