SharePoint Send To Function

I am trying to use the "Send To" function in SharePoint 2007 to make copies of documents from the source document library to the destination document library, but the copied documents in the destination document library lost all the list-lookup type metadata information. Both document libraries have the same content type, same set of metadata and are in the same site collection.
Any help on the above issue is much appreciated.

Are the source library and the destination library in the same site?
1) If both of libraries are in the same site, I think the “send to” can help you to copy lookup type metadata into the destination document library.
2) If the destination library is in the different site, then the metadata of lookup column will not be copied as the destination library is unavailable to the column the lookup column refer to in the source library.

As I understand from
this MSDN page it does the following:
"An ActiveX control that enables a user of Microsoft SharePoint Foundation 2010 to copy a document in a list to one or more locations."
When we disable the control the Send To functionality does work, but we just disabled the control that is responsible for this!
Question:
After disabling the mentioned Add-On what functionality IS responsible for the Send To action?

According to your description, my understanding is that you want to know what is responsible for the Send To action.
There is a feature called Content Organizer at site level. If you don’t enable this feature, when you use Send To connection, you will get an error, and the function doesn’t work. So it seems that the Content Organizar feature is responsible for the Send
To action in SharePoint 2010 Standard and Enterprise.

I would hope there would be no way to disable Save AS that would reduce the applicationss capability. What are you trying to prevent happening?

Send link function no longer works after last update (7.0.1). Has always worked till now. Outlook is set as default email (as before).

You can try running the combo updater over your install but you might need to re-install Lion. Both options should not erase your data but if you do the re-install of Lion it's recommended that you backup first as a precaution.

Attach GOS attachments with a standard send mail functionality

Hi Folks,
I am here after long time and need your help.
I have a requirement where I need to attach document with a standard send mail functionality.
Below is the details:
From Quality notification 'Action Box', if the user select a perticular action (it is similar to web link), the system is sending a mail to an external mail id provided by the user (In a popup). This mail send is happening through a SAP standard functionality.
Now the requirement is, I need to attach selected file from GOS (generic Object Services) and attach them to the mail. Sending mail should happen through standard functionality.
I want to know below two points:
1) How to get selected files from GOS attachment?
2) How to attach them to mail? (only attach, sending will be done by standard functionality)
Hope I am clear with the requirement.
Please help me to get it resolved.

Sharepoint send to button not working with document mode 9

Hi All,
We are using document mode 9 for HTML 5 in the master page but the SharePoint send to button is not working with ie 9.
Can anyone help me to resolve this issue.

SharePoint 2010 doesn't use HTML 5, so its possible that the browser is running in quirks mode. Try the default compatibility mode and see if that works for you.

"Send Again" Function doesn't work. Apple Mail Mac OS 10.8.4

Hello there! I have an Apple Mail running under Mac OS 10.8.4. I often use the "Send Again" function, I just edit the date and added some notes on it and it works perfectly for my daily reports! However, these past few days it seems so odd. By using the said function I can no longer edit the message. And while I'm trying to close the new Mail window that I have open from the Send Again function it won't let me do so. So I forcibly quit the Mail and re-open it again. And upon re-opening application the mail was on the draft and that message area was blank already. I have to re-type the message again. I tried the Rebuild function but same problem persist. I ready reformatted my Mac and just returned the Mail folder inside the ~/Library to have a fresh preferences file, however same problem occured. I cannot find any solution on the web. Please help. Thanks in advance!

The same problem has appeared after upgrading from Snow Leopard to Mavericks. Opening the email allows me to use the Send Again function but it used to work after just highlighting the email in the list.

The servlet include a send mail function,and can not retrun immediately!

Not sure I understand your question, but I think you want to know how to handle a lengthly operation (send mail in your case) without making the client wait a long time for a response. If that is the question, you can kick off a new thread to handle the mail sending while replying to the browser client immediately. There's a good intro to threads and examples in the Jave tutorial (http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/essential/threads/index.html)

Did you try opening that file in any other browser ?If not ,please try doing that once and see if that works for you.
Try Repairing Acrobat once and see if that helps.
Launch Acrobat>Navigate to Help>Repair Acrobat Installation.

Send to Functionality

Hi,
We are running on NW7.0 SP14 portal and have configured KMC to it.
Currently we are facing an issue in using Send To option of KM (folder/ file) that is when i click on Send to context menu option of a KM folder everything works fine and on click of Send E-Mail button i get a message as Mail has been sent but intrestingly the i don' t receive the mail.
This is the same case for many of the users as well.
It used to work earlier in a fine way but it seems to have problems now. I have checked the Groupware transport setting & configuration and everything seems fine.
It would be of great help if you can provide some pointers on why even though i get the message as mail has been sent the mail never gets delievered using send to option.

Issue has been resolved now!
It was with the SMTP server which our portal was using created the problem, after i delinked the current smtp server from the portal and connected to another new smtp server, the send to functionaltiy started working.
And regarding the last 'Q' i asked, the send to functionality works only if the logged user has got a mail id with in the same domain as SMTP server, as in the case of Send To functionality the system pulls the logged in users mail id from the LDAP and sends the mail with the pulled mail id in to field as a result the logged in user should have a valid mail id present in LDAP within the same domain.

'Send to' function, like in windows?

does anyone know if there is a 'send to' function in windows, where you right-click on an item and then can quickly send a file to a memory stick, or some other location on the list it gives you?
that is a function in windows that i used to use a lot.

Personally, I like dragging and dropping to the sidebar. Can't do that with desktop items unless you open a desktop window, but then I don't keep anything on my desktop.

"send link" function - how do I change the email address used

When I use the "send link" function whilst using Safari on my iPad IOS 7.1.2, it now sends it from a secondary email address I have added in Mail.
This is not my main email address (and the one I have set as my default), which is the one it has always used until recently.
How do I change it back to my default please?

The email address you want to use must be on your card in Address Book. Where there are multiple addresses on your card you can change between them in an iCal alarm by clicking the arrow to the right of the current address.

Adding the send email function on a form.

This has been bugging me lately. I have tried lots of methods
to try and get this form to send to a specified email, yet I cannot
get my head around it. I tried integrating PHP, it worked...to some
extent. Problem was that the application was not defined as a form
and the email sent was all screwed up ( no titles and shizzles ).
Also, I had to add validators to the form, so I had to start from
scratch again.

I know I have to add some sort of HTTPService and then
connect it to a PHP form sender. But how? I have searched high and
low and have yet to find a solid answer with some good code that
will work with most forms.

Have you checked out the RIA Codes tutorial at http://www.riacodes.com/flex/create-an-email-form-in-flex-with-php/? They show how to do this, I'm pretty sure.

How to read data from a GPIB when sending a function generator command

I'm using Visual C++ with the ComponentWork ActiveX and I'm tring to plot a
CWGraph using the data coming from a GPIB device. When I write command such
as "*IDN?" to the GPIB device, everythings if fine and I can read what the
GPIB device return me. But when I send a command like "SOUR:FUNC SIN;SENS
DATA?", the writing seems to be okay, but when I try to read the data, I
alway get a "Timeout expired before operation completed" error message. I
have tried with the CWGPIB and with the CWVISA but the result are the same
with both.
My reading code looks like this:

I want to know how I must read the data for function generator commands.

It sounds like your device is not accepting that command string as valid. The string you listed above is probably missing a colon between SENS and DATA. "SOUR:FUNC SIN;SENSATA" Try sending this string in Measurement & Automation Explorer to the instrument first to make sure it is working.
