Sharepoint vs SCOM

hi all,
sorry for my bad englisch . I have in the scom 2 warnings:
Drives are at risk of running out of free space
Accounts used by application pools or service identities are in the local machine Administrators group.
can I disable ONLY this warning , not whole monitor ?
thank you
marek g.
Falcon

Hi,
Based on your description, it seems like that you want to override this monitor to remove "warning" setting. As we know, if this monitor is under sealed management pack, and under override settings there is no way to rewrite or remove the warning setting,
then I have to say that this cannot be changed with operation manager console.
If possible, we may need to open the XML file with VSAE and re-write the "warning" part.

Welcome to Windows Server General Forum !
This is an English TechNet forum, Please post your queries in English !
    Scope:
The name "General" has a very broad significance and sometimes that might lead to some ambiguities.
The scope of this forum is to answer General "Server Administration" related queries pertaining
to Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008 / R2 and 2012  operating systems.
Again, "Server Administration" has innumerous aspects and at times it becomes bit difficult to categorize
    them.
We try to answer your questions in General or provide troubleshooting support in depth as and when necessary
based on the context of the query.
Questions could be related to AD, GP, Server OS related Queries/issues/errors, general troubleshooting etc…
list is too huge and it's highly difficult to elaborate them here :-)

  • SharePoint 2010 SP2 hosted on Windows 2012 R2 NOT discovered by SCOM 2012 R2 + 2 SP MP's

What is the process to get SharePoint 2010 Management Packs loaded in System Center 2012 R2 to discover/monitor SharePoint 2010 SP2 (14.0.7121.5000) loaded on Windows 2012 R2?
    View of installed system:
System Center 2012 R2 loaded on Windows 2012 R2 (supported separately by SQL 2012 SP1 loaded on Windows 2012 R2)
-Microsoft SharePoint 2010 Products Management Pack for System Center Operations Manager 2007
-System Center 2012 Monitoring Pack for SharePoint 2010
     SharePoint 2010 SP2 (14.0.7121.5000) loaded on Windows 2012 R2 (supported separately by SQL 2012 SP1 loaded on Windows 2012 R2)
The SharePoint 2010 Management Shell works fine!
    Result
Event 0, Operations Manager - Cannot identify which SharePoint farm server is associated with. Check the management pack guide for troubleshooting information.
    Looked at these already:

    Peter,
I recommend to remove the Windows 2012 R2 server out of the farm and redeploy on W2008 R2.
This issue does not have an easy fix.
Summarizing, this appears to be the issue:
    1. Windows Management Framework 3.0 is integrated with Windows 2012 R2, which installs .NET 4 and Powershell 4.0. Not uninstallable.
    2. The Add-PSSnapin Microsoft.SharePoint.PowerShell is not supported with Powershell 4.0.
    3. The SCOM SP2010 MP puts a package on the defined farm server and when the agent launches the package, it calls Powershell (v4 in theis case) and errors out. The target W2012 server will have an Error 0 in the Operations Manager Event log. See below.
    Options:
    1. Work around maybe - Develop method for manual discovery (I'm working on that now).
    2. Rebuild SP2010 farm on Windows 2008 R2
    3. System Center Team - Write a new MP to down version Powershell (Powershell.exe -Version 2)
    4. Powershell Team - Write a SharePoint Snapin for Powershell 4

  • Report for specific Windows Sharepoint 2013 process OWSTIMER, (SCOM 2012R2)

    Hi,
I just want to check in case I'm looking in the wrong place in SCOM.
A customer has asked for a report on Memory/Private Bytes for the OWSTIMER.exe process on a Sharepoint server.
Is this data available by default, or is it a matter of writing a rule first to collect the data, then reporting on that after a period has elapsed?
(I could not find the Instance for owtimer from the std install...but maybe I'm doing the wrong thing in the Report).
    Thx,
    John Bradshaw

    Hi,
With the Sharepoint management pack, we have many defined reports, if there is no report for the OWSTIMER.exe process, then we need to create a collection rule for this process.
We can use process monitoring template wizard to create monitoring for the OWSTIMER.exe process.

  • SCOM and SharePoint 2010 Add-In for Dashboards (Issue)

I have an environment with SCOM 2007 R2, all working fine. I have installed ans new test server to integrate SCOM and SahrePoint 2010. On this server I have installed Visio 2010 (Yes, I know, never install Visio in a server, but this ins juts for test).
    I have installed Visio Add-In and SharePoint 2010 Add-In.
All my dashboards created in Visio to reflect health state are working fine on Visio, in fullscreen. But, When I import this Visio file, (in . VWD), to SharePoint, I can see normally the Visio in my Webpart, all showing fine (I have used the step by step
to configure SCOM and SharePoint integration). But, after my first Refresh for the diagram all Health State Icons becomes a FAIL Icon (like image below). This sounds like some permission problem, because on Visio all Health State Icons works fine.
    Someone can help me?

I have used this step by step before, but I think the problem is a parte, because I dont understand better, the part is:
To configure Visio Services for Read-Only Operator permissions on the RMS
In order for Visio Services to refresh the diagrams that are published and connected to Operations Manager data, the Visio Services service application must be configured with credentials that have access to the RMS. This is because
the Visio Services service application is executing the data provider which is responsible for returning the updated dataset from the RMS.
The easiest way to configure this is to make the account that Visio Services is running as a Read-Only Operator on the RMS.
    To do this…
    Create domain account
    Run the Operations Manager console.
From the Administration tab click on User Roles.
In the User Roles list double-click on the Read-Only Operators role.
Add the account that is configured for Service Application Pool.
Can anyone help me about where configure this account on SharePoint??

  • SCOM and Dashboards, SharePoint - Visio - PerformancePoint - suggestions

Looking for a suggestion on what is the best tool/platform for integration of dashboards for SCOM.  Need a replacement for our existing system that is being outdated. Need something very flexible giving insight into system infrastructure (CPU Memory
Disk etc), application (Web services, web requests, web site, etc), and network (speeds, latency, etc).  We have a good foundation with SCOM 2012 and the SCOM APM, so looking to pull that data source as the base.  Have looked at the built-in SCOM
dashboards, Visio, SharePoint (we have servers), and now I see something called PerformancePoint.  Getting overwhelmed at what is out there and just need some direction, we run in a OPS Team fashion, with monitors displaying running statistics and performance
metrics (graphs and gauges) that are reacted upon during escalations.

    Hi,

  • SCOM warning about impersonation setting in sharepoint

SharePoint 2010 SP1 using Integrated authentication (AD) - we are getting a warning from SCOM saying that
SharePoint web.config for "impersonation Mode" causes security hole.
    and referencing this kb article
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/306158 - which is a generic asp.net article - not specific to sharepoint.  The particular web.config that SCOM is complaining about is at path "C:\Program
    Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server
Extensions\14\TEMPLATE\IDENTITYMODEL\TRUST\web.config" which appears to be used for authentication with "Trusted authentication providers such as adfs" (according to this blog:
    http://sharepoint.muhrman.se/2012/06/14/the-users-are-impatient-help-them-if-you-can/)
I can't find anything official documentation-wise regarding this particular web.config file - but I'm assuming that that web.config needs to have impersonate="false" set to properly do that authentication method (which we don't use) - but I would
really like something official that I can point to when I tell our operations guys that I want to leave the setting as-is.
Can anyone point me to something official on the need for that setting?
    Thanks

    Hi,
SharePoint utilizes .NET impersonation and NET Impersonation allows an application to run under the context of the client accessing an application.
By default, the impersonate is set to false in web.config file.
With the default setting, the ASP.NET thread runs using the process token of the application worker process regardless of which combination of IIS and ASP.NET authentication is used.
If you need to access the all the resources on the local computer, then you can enable the impersonation to true which will run as the Local System account.
You can refer to the links below for more details:

  • SCOM 2007 - SharePoint 2007: Maximum connections counter

    Hello,
I am trying to locate the "Maximum connections counter" for SharePoint 2007 using SCOM 2007. I don't see it so far!!!
"Web Service - Maximum Connections" does not show anywhere any idea?
    Thanks,
    Dom
System Center Operations Manager 2007 / System Center Configuration Manager 2007 R2 / Forefront Client Security / Forefront Identity Manager

The object is Web Service, which then has several different counters, which then might have several instances.
If this performance object is something you want to monitor for, and it is not included in the mp, then you just need to create a performance monitor or collection rule, depending on what you want to do with the data.
The Exchange 2013 MP, for example, has no performance collection rules.  So it's very possible, while the product group wanted to include everything most people need, they could have forgotten or were just not able to do so before they had to release
the mp.  The MOSS 2007 MP has been around for years, was never updated, and isn't one of the better mps from MSFT.  So if you want to extend it with a custom management pack, or just add something via the console, then you should be fine.

  • SCOM 2012 Web part won't show up in SharePoint 2013

    Hi
I'm using SCOM 2012 en installed a test server with SharePoint 2013. I executed the command to install the operationsmanager dashboardviewer:
    .\INSTALL-OPERATIONSMANAGER-DASHBOARDVIEWER.PS1 "C:\TEMP " http://localhost:9000
    Everything went well.
I activated it under site collection features in sharepoint.
Under Site Contents > Operations Manager Web Console Environments > Edit i put the correct settings in.
After that I mad a new web application (since it was a new sharepoint server) and
affter that i created a site collection. (Collaboration > Team site)
When i surf to my newly created site, and i choose Add a page > Insert > Web Part, my SCOM plugin doesn't show up. According to several guides there should
be a categorie "Microsoft System Center" and a webpart "Operations Manager Dashboard", but it doesn't show up.
Does anyone have an idea how to fix this :s?

Disclaimer: I know nothing of SCOM's SP integration.
it sounds like the feature isn't activated at the site collection level... perhaps the powershell script was supposed to be run AFTER the site collection was created? You might be able to activate the feature afterwards, but it may not be very straight forward
    (they may be hidden).

  • Update rollup 2 for SCOM 2012 R2 broke sharepoint and visio 2010 SCOM integration

I just applied UR2 to my test environment and I find that it has broken my SharePoint webpart, webconsole, and visio integration? What's the fix?  I receive "Secure Store Service did not performed the operation."
from the dashboard web part, and "The server failed to process the request" from the VSW.
    B. Wright

    Hi,
Did you follow the article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2929891 to install the UR2?
    In the article:
We recommend that you install this update rollup package by following these steps in the given order:
Install the update rollup package on the following server infrastructure:
    Management server or servers
    Gateway servers
    Web console server role computers
    Operations console role computers
Apply SQL scripts (see installation information).
    Manually import the management packs.
Apply the agent update to manually installed agents, or push the installation from the Pending view in the Operations console.
Please check whether your operation manager server works well. Please check the event logs for more related information to help to troubleshoot this issue.

  • SCOM - Script to Undeclare IRM on SharePoint Online 2013

I have a library with many files that have been declared as Records. My client wants to delete the library. I can't delete the library until I have undeclared each file. I can do this manually, but it is a very tedious process.

    Hi Marcel,
According to your description, my understanding is that you want to undeclare the record using Client PowerShell Command in SharePoint.
As far as I know, SharePoint Online has no such PowerShell API to achieve this requirement.
Also, your environment is Office 365, I suggest you can create a post in Office 365 forum, you will get more detailed information from there :
