SharePort news and announcement web part cuts off news item.

I am not sure where to turn to, but I have a web part on a SharePoint 2013 page where it displays news and announcement items. 4 lines of text are displayed, but words are cut off. For example:

Is there a way to not have SharePoint cut off words and display the whole word before it adds the ... and the end of text?
Is there a third party web part that does a better job at displaying news?

This feature is not available out of the box, make sure that if there is any JavaScript code added to wrap the text and display read more link. Refer to the following post for more information

Announcements Web Part -- Able To Show More Than One At a Time?

I am currently using SharePoint Online and loving it, but I have come across one item that is giving me a problem. I am working on creating a corporate intranet site and when I add the "Announcements" web part it only allows me to display one announcement
at a time -- I'd like to be able to show two or three rows of two or three announcements per row -- but I am only able to click an arrow to go to the next one so there is ALOT of wasted space on the page. One of the things that I really like about the announcements
web part is that it is clean and having the ability to put a picture behind the next and then see more of the information after hovering over it is just awesome in my opinion.
Could someone please assist or suggest another alternative?

If you have the list filtered, so that the web part only shows those entries that are declared as "Announcements" (assuming you have utilized an announcement type), ensure that the list item has the correct attributes.
Other than this, I can only think that the web part may be formatted such that only one announcement can be shown. Ensure that the web part does not have a fixed height/width.
Again, hope this helps, or at least takes you one step closer to a resolution.

* [[Remove recent browsing, search and download history]]
Also, I strongly suggest updating to Windows 8.1 update 1 as plain old windows 8 is no longer secure or stable.

SharePoint 2013 and IE 11 issue - While creating a Web Part Page and Editing Web Part Properties

I tried to edit a Web Part in SharePoint 2013 using IE 11 but I did not see the Edit Eeb Part dropdown menu at the top-right corner of the web part. Then I tried to create a Web Part page and I get the following error.
Cannot create a Web Part Page with the current browser. Browsers that support the creation of Web Part Pages include Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0 or later, Mozilla Firefox 3.0 or later, and Apple Safari 3.0 or later
Strange !!! My web browser is IE 11.
I tried the above two tasks in Google Chrome and worked fine.
Solution:
I added the site url to local intranet zone in IE 11 and I am now able to add Web Part Page and Edit Web Part in IE 11.

Items to display in list view web part not showing the items setup

Hi, I have the following issue. I have a list view web part, but the web part is showing more items that the ones setup in the: Number of items to display in list view web part for this view.
It is because that works when using datasheet view and not a normal view? Is there any technical documentation from Microsoft supporting this?

Opened a .ai file, found that left and right side are cut off (landscape vs. regular the issue?)

Information all in the title. I open a .ai file and the left and right sides of the image are cut-off based on the "page" box

Did you open it in a lower version?
It looks like you opened the PDF part of the file instead of the AI part.

Custom Page Layout and strange web part behaviour

Hi.
I've added some additional web part zones to a new table in a custom page layout but when I deploy the page layout and apply it to an existing page, if I add a CEWP to the new zones the ribbon doesn't respond and I can only modify the CEWP if I move it to
one of the other OOTB zones on the page.
I can move the CEWP back and forth between the zones but the ribbon only reacts and allows me to really customize the web part once it's been moved to one of those original zones.
I can add any web part to the new zones but the CEWP, when initially added to the page, just shows the "Click here to add new content" text/link and clicking it does nothing.
The strange thing is that if I select and then copy that text/link, the text disappears and I can type in the CEWP.
Adding a CEWP to one of the original zones just works. I click the link, the text disappears and I can start editing.
Have I missed something in the code on the customized page layout or is this just a bug or some other quirk?

This depends on the IView properties, so open IView properties in property editor and play around with
Height properties like Height Type, MaxAutoHeight, MinAutoHeight.

Web page cutting off

When using Safari on the iPad, some web pages seem to be cut off at the bottom of the screen. I can't scroll down to see the rest of the page. I have tried clearing cache, history etc and restarting but this doesn't help. Does anyone have any ideas pls?

What pages do you mean? Can you give an example? It could be a page that require a two finger scroll if there is text that you cannot get to on the page, but that's just a guess.

I had a virus on the pc I have itunes on. I had to reload itunes and tell it to find my music. After gettingh the itunes going again, I reloaded both my ipods and now, purchased music cuts off after 10 seconds. Not all music but some.

I had a virus on the pc I have itunes on. The person who fixed it, put all files in 1 file and put it on the desktop. I could not access the itunes at all so finally, I reloaded Itunes and got all my music back. When I synched both my ipods, it had to erase the ipod and load the current page...no problem. Today I had my ipod on shuffle and the songs started to play. Then a song came on and it played part of the song and went to the next one. It started doing this on about every 3 songs. I got home and tried to play the song off my itunes page and the samething happened. This is music I bought from itunes.
I am not a pc person and this is totally frustrating me.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Save and Cancel are being cut off below the screen

Hi,
I'm trying to download a pdf that has opened in the Safari browser. Cmd Shft S for 'Save As.'
The "Save" and the "Cancel" buttons are cut off below the screen. This has happened in iTunes and I simply go to Window > Zoom and it's fixed. In Safari, I can't access the Zoom, it doesn't do anything. I end up having to hit "Return" just to get control of the screen back.
Here's how it looks...

Bottom and righ of frame cut off in IE but not in Chrome?

Hello, this is just happing on my computer and I do not know how to fix. When I run one of my captvate projects in Internet explorere 9,10 or 11 the bottom and right side of the frame is cut off. I have the shell set to 1024x768 and I also set it to 800x600 and the same thing is happing. I ran the course in chrome using the HTML link in the folder and it ran fine. I have IE11 on my test computer and it is working there too. Any Ideas or updates that Microsoft may have done that I could be missing or need to change.

Sounds like you just need to clear the cache in Chrome.

Screen appears shaky and margins are slightly cut off!

Suddenly the screen appears shaky and everything seems to move slightly...edges are cut off...I have tried rebooting and syncing....nothing has helped thus far....any help will be appreciated.

Webparts missing borders and edit web part menu

I have a web part page, and added 7 apps (document libraries) into the page. They are all set to minimized for the chrome state and toolbar type is "Full Toolbar". The web parts do not display any border, and the edit web part menu
is not available, it is only available when in editing mode.
When I look at my site in SharePoint 2007 with the same settings, I can see that they have borders on the web parts and the edit web part menu is available on the right hand side (even when you are not in edit mode).

Am I missing a setting? I've tried in IE 11, FireFox and Chrome, all are the same.
Any help would be most appreciated.

I've done some fiddling after reading your post.. This seems like a bug, and there is hardly any information on it.
I'm experiencing the exact same thing in my environment; I can minimize a web part, and it is not restorable unless I edit the page. Furthermore, when I set the chrome to Title and Border, I get no border.
Also, it's cleared stated by MS that this should be possible: "You can configure a Web Part to be minimized by default on a page. You might do this if a page seems crowded.
The readers of the page can restore the Web Part while they are reading the page. If they close and then reopen the page, the Web Part will be minimized again."
