Sharing a calendar

I would like to share one calendar with my wife - we have a family Mobile Me account if that helps. It needs to be write access for both of us. I don't want to just publish it since I don't want everyone to be able to see what we're up to - i.e. on vacation for two weeks = guaranteed break in at home etc etc. Maybe I could use my public folder with a password but then it sort of defeats the general use purpose of that folder. Other ideas?

This is absurd. Using google calendar I get ten times more versatility than i do with mobile me and ical. This is ridiculous apple! I just bought a family plan hoping that my wife and I could then exchange calendar info, but oh no, I just paid an insane amount of money in todays free-of-charge-webtool-services for something that essentially does nothing the way it's supposed to :
Replace idisk with dropbox ten times faster : getdropbox.com
Replace MobileME ical with Gcal calboration : http://www.google.com/support/calendar/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=99358#ical
Both are free!

  • How can I allow multiple users to edit a single shared iCal calendar?

Is it possible to allow multiple users to edit a single shared iCal calendar? I also want to provide different permissions to those users. Is this possible through .MAC? Is it possible on Mac OSX Server?

I would like 2 agenda synced through .Mac but it does not work.
I have 2 computers and 2 laptops. A very simple agenda with 3 calenders. Myself my partner and the office calender. I want to publish my calender and that of my partner. The office calender I would like to sync so that we can change the office calender at any location.
I set up sync only for iCall and have a .Mac account. When I change anything on any of the calenders in iCall nothing happens on any of my other locations. Even though the locations are registered as synced. I can see the sync wheel turning but at the end of it the calenders are not synced.
At this moment I fully understand the publish and unpublished calenders but have no clue what so ever what syncing does for iCall. There seems to be no functionality to it. It does not transport any calender info over .Mac. There is no visable check to see what is happening and the process of syncing is not transperent. Lots of my friends go to me for advise on Apple issues but as far as sync wether iCall or Addressbook I always tell them sync does not work and I have no clue why others have it working. I haven't met any people here in Holland either that got in working. I suppose with iCall you have to get third party software to share calenders editable calenders. Really hopeless situation, wish Apple would just have a manual stating what sync can do and what it can not. Hours wasted on this issue trying to get it to work.
Hope anyone here can help out.

  • How do I get the shared Family calendar to show up with Family Sharing enabled?

    Hi,
I've enabled Family Sharing and added a couple of my kids, but none of us are seeing a new shared "Family' calendar. I'm just seeing my original calendar list, unchanged since enabling family sharing. I've tried signing out of iCloud and back in as the usual fix for these things There's no Family calendar anywhere: on my phone, on my laptop or on iCloud.com. Is there anything I have to do or can do to get to show up?
    Thanks
    Mark

You may have to update NIS and reenable the toolbar add-on via '''Tools''' ('''Alt''' + '''T''') > '''Add-ons''', click Extensions on the left. The disbaled add-ons are listed towards the bottom. • How can I add a SHARED Outlook Calendar to my iPhone?

I have Outlook for work. I have my personal calendar on there, along with my work calendar which is shared with my boss. When I sync my IPhone to Exchange, my personal calendar from Outlook syncs to my phone. The Shared calendar does not appear, however.
I don't want to use an app (I have OWA and hate it) and I want the shared cal to appear on my calendar in my phone. I also need to do so without adding my boss's email account to my phone. Help!

Depending on the version of Exchange in your environment you need to verify with your Exchange Admin that iCal publishing is enabled (Exchange 2010 or 2013) then you could send an email with a link to the shared calendar then subscribe to
it.  Below is a link on how send the link once it's enabled and one for your Exchange Admin on how to enable iCal.
    Send email to shared calendar:

    Enable iCal on Exchange 2010:

I do not know how to remove someone from sharing on of my calendars on my iphone 4.

    Stop sharing a calendar
Click the Share button to the right of the calendar’s name.
Do one or both of the following:
Deselect the checkbox to the left of Private Calendar.
Deselect the checkbox to the left of Public Calendar.
Click OK, then click Stop Sharing in the dialog that appears.
A private calendar becomes unavailable to all participants. A public calendar is removed from its URL and becomes unavailable.

How do I stop sharing my Calendar?
I have been sharing my Calendar with someone but I no longer wish to, how do I stop sharing it with them? I've looked through the application's menus but nothing jumps out at me directing me to a way to stop sharing.

    Link ( http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2695 ) only loads a blank page.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2691?viewlocale=en_US ]
I found this iCloud: Add or remove participants from a shared calendar but what happens on my Calendar when I follow the instructions is not the same as the KB article shows. My Calendar version is 7.0 (1841.1) on Mavericks 10.9.5
    What Apple support page says:
This is what I get. From my only iCloud Calendar 'Me' (step 1) to 'Name of Shared with Party' to remove (step 2) which is grayed out, and not selectable, in the next step (step 3). Nowhere  does it say Remove Person.

  • My wife and I have separate have separate user accounts on our IMac.  We have separate Apple IDs for iTunes.  How can we use iCloud on our separate iPhones without sharing contacts, calendars, etc.

My wife and I have separate have separate user accounts on our IMac.  We have separate Apple IDs for iTunes.  How can we use iCloud on our separate iPhones without sharing contacts, calendars, etc.

If have separate iCloud accounts and want to keep your all your iCloud data separate, you can create separate user accounts for each of you, then sign into your individual iCloud account within your user account.
If you want to just add both iCloud calendars on your Mac, you can sign into one iCloud account in System Preferences>iCloud, then add the second account in System Preferences>Internet Accounts>iCloud and only check Calendars with this second account.

  • ICal Shared Exchange Calendar Stopped Working

I have been successfully accessing the Johns Hopkins Exchange servers for mail, address book, and calendar services on my Mac for months. In iCal I had also been accessing a shared Exchange calendar for many months. About 1-2 months ago, I lost access to this shared calendar in iCal only. Since I can still access it from Outlook on a PC, it seems something must have changed on my Mac. I still have access to my own exchange calendar in iCal, but when I go to re-setup the shared calendar in the account set up window, it shows that the shard calendar exists in the list of available calendars, but the indicator spins and spins without ever revealing my delegate privileges. Did Apple change something that is blocking access to my delegate privileges in iCal?
    Thanks for any help,
    Bill Convey

I would suggest to go into the options for that exchange server on your Pre and reset the calendar preference (that is: change it to not sync the calendar, save those settings, then switch it to 'on' again).
After doing this, perform the following action:
    -Open your Contacts App
-Select Preferences & Accounts from the dropdown menu
-Scroll to the bottom of that page and select "Sync Now".
This should resync all data on all Accounts on your phone.
Please note: It may take up to 10 minutes to sync all data from all Accounts. If you do not see all synced information after 10 minutes, perform a soft reset (shutdown your phone and restart it).

  • Shared Exchange Calendar in iPad

Hello, I am dealing this issue pretty long time but with no result. I was able to add shared calendars of my colleagues in Macbook Calendar. But now I need to add it also to iPad (or iPhone). Like it or not but for example our CEO uses just iPad, no PC.
So I need to figure our how to open shared exchange calendar in iPad.
    Thank you for your tips.

I'm not sure if it's possible to open the full OWA from an iPad...perhaps somebody else knows, but in the version which shows on my iPad, that functionality is not allowed.
There is no way to add a shared calendar/mailbox to an iDevice.

  • How can I remove "invitations" from a shared iCloud calendar when I am not actually invited to the event?

How can I remove invitations from a shared iCloud calendar when I am not actually invited to the event?
My wife and I share our calendars and she uses it very frequently. Every time she enters a new event on her calendar I get a notice (invitation?) in the Calendar app, even though I am not invited to the event she created.
I would like to continue being able to share our calendars but I do not want the hassle of an Invitation popping up every time she enters an event.
    Thanks!

You can sync photos and itunes content with one and only one computer at a time.  When you sync to another, it will erase the current content and  replace with content from the new computer.

  • HT203521 In iOS8 I can't turn off shared iCloud calendar alerts. I share iCloud calendars with 3 others and am constantly getting their alarms for upcoming appointments. Settings- Notifications- Calendar- Shared Calendar Changes turns off changes only.

Have had new iPhone 6 for 2 months, using iOS 8.  I share iCloud calendars with 3 others and I am getting bombarded with their upcoming appointment alerts.  There seems no way to turn this off.  I went to Settings->Notifications->INCLUDE(Calendar)->Shared Calendar Changes and turned everything off, but this only blocks alerts about new events or changes to events being added to the calendars, it does not block the 5-minute/10-minute/etc. alarms that go off immediately in advance of the appointment.  There used to be a setting in iOS7 in "Mail, Contacts, and Calendars" way at the bottom to turn off alarms from shared calendars, but I don't see that in iOS8.  Any ideas?

Finally figured this out when I read jodiemcneill 's post about Google calendars.  Thanks!
Reposting the basic idea: to turn off event alerts from shared ICloud calendars, select the Calendar App, then click the "info" (i.e., the circled red 'i') icon next to the shared iCloud calendar to be silenced. Go down to "Notifications" and turn the slider off for "Event Alerts: (Allow events on this calendar to display alerts.)"
For good measure, you can also turn off the slider for "Show Changes" to prevent the calendar from displaying messages when shared events are added/modified/deleted, although this can be done "globally" for all shared iCloud Calendars in Settings->Notifications->Calendar->Invitations (turn off all sliders, click "none" for Alert Style).
This has been a major pain in the ... neck ... for the past 3 months.  So glad to start the new year with a suddnely-much-quieter iPhone 6.

  • KB2687455 (SP2 for Office 2010) Breaks Outlook Searches of Shared Contacts/Calendars

Hello, everyone! I would love to know if anyone else is experiencing these issues.
I am an IT Network Technician for several clients that have had issues searching in shared contacts and/or calendars in Outlook 2010. These users are using Office 2010 in Citrix/Remote Desktop Services environments. When these servers automatically
download and install KB2687455, the users can no longer perform searches in shared contacts/calendars. They receive an error stating, "The requested Upon removing this update, and having the user close and re-open Outlook, the search functionality is
restored. Surprisingly, a reboot is not required to restore searching.
Is Microsoft aware of this issue? If so, what is being done to correct it? If not, is anyone else experiencing similar symptoms?
Our firm has already observed similar failure of the search functionality in Outlook 2010 due to the installation of another Windows Update, KB2956128. The issues with that update are already well-documented, based on a preliminary Google search,
and we have blocked the installation of that update, where possible, until we are informed of a fix for it from Microsoft. Any information on the repair of that update would also be much appreciated.

    Hi,
Both KB2956128 and KB2956203 seem to cause this issue to some of our users, as you mentioned KB2956128, have you checked KB2956203? If you have installed this KB, uninstall it to check the result.
If it is KB2956203, we have been aware of some issues caused by the recent updates, and would like to collect more information for further investigation.
Can you guys share your detailed system info? Also, if you have any log files about the issue, kindly share with us by sending them to this email account:
[email protected] (please use the link of this thread as the subject).
We appreciate your assistance with this.

  • Shared 2010 Calendar Color Categories not appearing in Outlook 2007

I have a SBS 2003 (exchange 2007) environment wih a mixed Outlook use between 2007 and 2010. One 2010 Outlook client has shared a calendar to several 2007 users and they swear that when they received the email invite to view this shared 2010 calendar, the
color categories list in their Outlook changed to match the shared calendar without any interaction from the users. A new hire was given the same invite to view this shared calendar, she accepted, the calendar is visible however, the color categories
    are not appearing.
I've tried setting an appointment in the 2010 Outlook shared calendar with all the color categories in the list, then going to the client's 2007 Outlook and updating the color categories in her mailbox but nothing changes.
I've read about 20-30 blogs, tech form and MS tech answers on this subject and I get conflicting solutions. One states that you can't transfer the master color category list, you have to change it on each Outlook client while others state the use of an appointment
and upgrading the categories from the properties in the client's mailbox (which didn't work) or using a third party add-in to manage a "Master Color Category list" (which costs money). I would like a straight answer to my question, which is,
"why can't the Outlook 2007 client see the color categories in the 2010 shared calendar?" and "How to I fix this?".
This questions has been asked in so many different ways that I'm not sure if someone will help me without having to call MS support and pay for it. This has got to have a simple solution that I don't need to pay for it, yes?
    Anyone, please help me.....

Hey mate i had the same issue and was dumb founded till i came up with a solution that worked for me, and possibly someone out there looking for the same solution. Half the info i looked up was all bullshit and took me months to come up with a fix as
    im busy with other priorities.
still busy so ill be quick...and not gonna get too technical just gonna lay it all out in steps
    1. create a mail account in exchange eg.
    [email protected]
    2. log into the account through outlook and share the calendars you set up.
    3. go to the exchange management console on the 'server ' right click the created
[email protected] mailbox > manage full access permissions> and start adding the users who need access. (only thing that worked for me)
    4. close and reopen outlook on the users computer and then you should see the colour co-ordinated catergories that you assigned for scheduling that they can all access and book appointments in a easy colour co-ordinated layout.
if it dosent show up try - *on the users computer* start >run>cmd>gpupdate/force
this will force the update on some computer that didnt show up with the effect. only had this problem with 1 user and this fixed it :)
hopefully this idea helps you! as it did me cause no geek out there never gave me this easy fix option, instead right properties and blah blah blah technical crap that dosent work, wankers!
    thanks :)
P.S this worked between 2010 and 2007 microsoft outlook

  • Shared MobileMe calendars - gone forever?

My team shares a couple of calendars in MobileMe.  They're pretty key to doing our jobs effectively.  I've migrated to iCloud, and lost those calendars.  And my team is unable to invite me back, because my iCloud ID is the same as my MobileMe ID, and emailed invitations include a completely unhelpful link directly to MobileMe (and attempting to log into MobileMe provokes the cheerful message that I don't need to do that anymore - my old MobileMe work and home calendars showed up just fine).  Even when the rest of the team migrates, how are we supposed to share anything between now & the retirement of MobileMe?  We need a fix immediately, even if it means going back to Google Calendar.  Do I have a choice?

Have your colleagues migrated to iCloud also?
Regardless, they should still be able to share calendars with you.
When they click the Share icon at http://www.me.com/calendars/ or https://www.icloud.com/#calendar they will get the option to have a "webcal:" URL which you can enter into iCal to subscribe to the calendar.
I've successfully shared iCloud calendars with Mac's running Leopard, Snow Leopard and Lion, with or without MobileMe or iCloud membership.

  • Shared calendars are working, but have suddenly started prompting for login info of user who shared the calendar

My boss started having this problem this morning. It may possibly be due to an update. The calendars appear to still be working fine (not 100% sure they're
getting new updates) and I've tried deleting them and re-adding them and the problem persists. Outlook will pop up the Security prompt asking for login credentials, with the username of the person whose calendar is shared pre-filled in the user name section.
If you click cancel everything continues to work but it prompts you again in a few minutes.
These calendars have previously worked perfectly with no issues.

    Hi,
Please confirm if there is any changes in Shared calendar account and your boss mailbox.
Since the issue occurs after the update in your Boss's computer, please reboot the local machine. And recreate the Outlook profile to have a try. About opening shared calendar in new profile, please open the shared calendar by the following steps:
    1. Switch to Calendar pane.
    2. Click Open Calendar > Open Shared Calendar.
    3. Click Name to select the user who shared the calendar to this user.
    4. Then click OK to open the Calendar.
Check whether there is any error when open it. If there is any permission error, please check the folder permission in shared user side.
