Sharing a Keynote Presentation through iChat Theater

I was successful in displaying a keynote file through the 'Share a file with iChat Theater' menu selection. I was surprised that the image of the slide was only a partial, where you could see only a portion of the slide at a time. This seems bogus. Am I missing something?

Nope.
The format for Keynote is based on the Paper size you have, and then displayed as Landscape.
This is note the same aspect ratio as the iChat window.
Rather than use the left to right and letter box it it seem to pick the height and then give you scroll features.
The iChat 4 window is a 4:3 aspect.
PowerPoint has a Preferences in Page Set up for the On Screen size of 25.3 cm X 19.05 CM which seems to be the same as USLetter according to other options.
I would guess Keynote is the same. (About 16:12.2 hence the "overhang")

I believe you need to go into System Preferences > Displays > Arrangement so the image you want appears on the projector.

  • Keynote presentation through 'infocus in24' projector via iPad3

    Hey all,
Am looking for some advice really, I'm pretty new to presentations etc!
Firstly, the idea is to do a slideshow as part of my brothers best man wedding speech!
    I've contacted the place where the dinner is and they've offered to make available an infocus in24 with the following specs;
    Make:               infocus in24
    Model:              /W240
    I have some questions though (as a noob);
    - Will I be able to play the presentation through keynote on my iPad3 ?
    - I've created some movies/intros (exported out from after effects) and was told to export as .mp4 but already they're around 600mb.
What Rez do I need to make the presentation at? And will I have sound?
Finally, is this a pipe dream and should I just run this from a mac book instead? ;)
Here's hoping I can get some advice please! Thanks in advance.
    Tony. (worried best man) ;)

that won't work. Can't you just go to your local computer store and pick up a USB wireless remote?

  • Sharing a keynote presentation?

A group of us at work are preparing a presentation amd will be using keynote for the first time.. However we will be preparing our parts of the presentation seperately. Can we somehow use icloud (even if i have to give them my password etc) so they can access the presentation to work on using their ipad, or will i have to give them my ipad so they can do their parts. They are both work ipads, so i have no bother giving them accessing my icloud as it is only work things on the ipad.

If you use the same icloud - you should have no problem to do that. As long as you are connected to wifi, your and their ipad keynotes will be updated.

  • Play a keynote presentation through windows

    I have a MacBook Air with OS X 10.9.4 with Keynote 6.2.2 (1878).
This Sunday (Sep 28) I'm gonna do a presentation that I'll make on this macbook. The classroom I'll do the presentation in is set up for only Windows. I'm thinking to plug my mac into the monitor in the classroom.
Think the graphics, fonts, and everything will come out okay? I don't know what kind of monitor is in the classroom.

Think the graphics, fonts, and everything will come out okay?
That will be down to the size colour and placement of text and images, the resolution will be no worse than using a Windows computer.
I don't know what kind of monitor is in the classroom.
Find out what connection the display has available so you can take the correct cable adapter ( you will need to provide one if the input is VGA or DVI) to connect to the display. Take a long HDMI cable.
Also take a PowerPoint file of the presentation (File > Export > PowerPoint) in case you can use that instead.

  • IChat AV 4 - Leopard - Where is the side-by-side iChat theater?

It's shown in the Leopard preview (http://images.apple.com/macosx/features/ichat.html) under "Showing off without showing up".
But, how do you start this mode? I can share files, keynotes, iPhoto, etc. But, I can't find how to show the video feed side-by-side.
    Any ideas?

This appears to work only when both clients are running iChat AV 4. Trying to share a file with my girlfriend's MacBook running Tiger, it simply sent the shared file in place of my video stream.
Testing this on my Power Mac G5 and my MacBook Pro, both of which are on Leopard, starting sharing resulted in the nifty iChat Theater view shown in your link. And it is displayed in that side-by-side view on both parties' iChat sessions, not just the receiving end.
To start an iChat Theater session, you can either share a file or photo (or album, which runs as a slideshow) using the File menu, or drag a file onto your video session window and drop it on the "Share with iChat Theater" zone that appears.

  • Problems putting a keynote presentation on 30 ipads for sales team

I need to put the Keynote App along with a keynote presentation on 30 separate iPads from sales people around the country. They are all synced to their personal accounts. When I sync to my computer, their apps get deleted, and then when they re-sync to their computer, Keynote and the presentation is deleted. Is there a workaround?
Also, most don't have email set up on their ipads, so I have to install the keynote presentation through the iTunes App window. All are PC people too.
Ugh! Got to be a way?

Why didn't you do it properly from the start and have them pay for the Keynote app via their own iTunes account (which you could have reimbursed them for) and then just email them the presentation/place it on a website for them to download so they could sync it to their iPads via iTunes?

  • Can I toggle the video image on and off in iChat Theater with Keynote?

It seems to me that in the Leopard presentation in the Apple booth at MWSF when exhibiting iChat Theater with a Keynote presentation they were able to switch between two views. One was just a simple head-on view of the Keynote file. The other had the Keynote screen angled away slightly and there was a typical video chat display in the lower left of the screen. Now that I am trying to use iCT I only see the view with the angled screen with the video in lower left. I asked at the local Apple store but we were not able to find any information about this. Do I have faulty memory? Is this really a feature and if so how do I toggle the two views?
    Thanks.

Depending on the Specs of your Mac is the key to how iChat displays iChat Theatre.
I can find no setting for it.
Strangely when I tested my G4 split the view as did my MacBook Pro on receiving but when I tried to go from MacBook Pro to G4 I did not get split view

  • Ichat theater movie sharing

I'm having a problem with ichat when i go to ichat theater the movie I'm playing is cut off like the bottom so i can't see the complete screen can i adjust the screen?

    Hi,
I have just tested over Bonjour to OS 10.6.7 and iChat 5.0.3
The Lion picture changed to a Portrait shape distorting the pics and when playing movie from the Snow Leopard computer I had some green artifacts.
    It was only one test.
Otherwise the iChat Theatre worked in both directions without actually cutting anything off.
A Second test did keep the normal picture shape.
I do know that in some versions that Slides in Keynote and Power point that are not 4:3 in ratio can be cut off to the left and right.
Testing this does not seem to be effected as iChat seems to letterbox the "presentation"
As Adjustments used to be done in Keynote or PowerPoint I would think you may have to look to the Video/movie you are trying to watch.

  • Does the Apple Digital Av adapter Stream in 1080P so that my keynote presentations look better that streaming them through apple TV?

Does the Apple Digital Av adapter Stream in 1080P so that my keynote presentations look better that streaming them through apple TV? I use Keynote and Apple TV to stream my Keynote presentations at work and the Picture does not look great and does not put the presetation in widscreen mode. Would the Apple Digital Av adapter fix that?

The size on the screen should remain, but the quality should be better.

  • Keynote presentations when using wireless libratone zipp speaker there is a 2sec delay before any slide containing video/audio plays - tried connection through apple TV still the same. Any ideas?

Keynote presentations when using wireless libratone zipp speaker there is a 2sec delay before any slide containing video/audio plays - tried connection through apple TV still the same. Any ideas?

Thanks Gary, I think I should have mentioned that I have wired my other speakers and it works fine.
I just wanted to go wireless when presenting in front of class, simply to avoid trailing wires from the macbook which I position in front of me on a desk next to the projector and the speakers are behind me next to the screen.
I have struggled to find a solution, and reading through other discussions it is a problem that perhaps only Apple can solve.
I hope the new 'Yosemite' will resolve the problem.
Thank you once again for your reply.

  • On slide No. 13 of my Keynote presentation, I have varous pictures that go through automatically just as I programmed them, but if I I want to get by clicking to the next slide , it does not let me. How can I program so when I want goes to next slide?

On slide No. 13 of my Keynote presentation, I have varous pictures that go through automatically just as I programmed them, but if I I want to get by clicking to the next slide , it does not let me. How can I program so when I want goes to next slide?

Keynote is programmed to execute all of the effects in a build sequence before it will move to the next slide.
If you want tobe able to move to the next slide at any time in a sequence of builds, you will need to set all of the builds on that slide to:  "on click". You will then need to execute each build by pressing the space bar or click the left mouse button for each object.

  • My question is that if I am using Mac and another friend of mine is using Ipad mini and her skpe isnt working and we want to share screens how can we do it through Ichat? Since on facetime screens cant be shared!

My question is that if I am using Mac and another friend of mine is using Ipad mini and her skpe isnt working and we want to share screens how can we do it through Ichat? Since on facetime screens cant be shared!

    Hi,
    You can't.
Messages - the replacement for iChat in Mountain Lion and beyond will  do Screen Sharing  but only to the accounts it did in iChat 5 and 6  (actually it includes iChat 4 as well)
That is to say in earlier version of iChat you could login to AIM and Jabber servers as well as enabling the Bonjour option to chat on your LAN.
All these will do Video and Audio only chats which in turn means they will Screen Share.
At iChat 6 an Yahoo option was added but it can only Text chat (it can't even send Files or Pics)
This means only the Internet able accounts that login in to AIM or to a Jabber server  can Video and therefore Screen Share.
The iMessages account will Invoke FaceTime if you use the Video icon during text chat.  (I.e. it is not Video inside the app like the AIM or Jabber accounts can do)
    NOTE.
AIM includes Apple Issued Apple ID as Valid AIM Screen Names.
Google Mail ID s can be used and Google Talk IDs with Messages as they run a Jabber server.
Facebook allow you to create a Chat ID (Facebook Chat ID) which is also a Jabber server.

  • Sound through HDMI when playing a Keynote Presentation

When I link my 4th gen iPad to a TV with Apple's HDMI adapter I get really good sound and vision through the TV when looking at iTunes videos or Youtube. But when I try to play embedded video in a Keynote presentation sound is only available from the iPad's headphone socket. Any solutions?

Sorted, thanks to the iWork Team at Apple. I had the mute button on.
To be fair to me, I use the side button to lock/unlock rotation and it didn't affect those other apps. But still, highly embarassing.
