Sharing a Presentation with animations, but no audio

How do I get a presentation I created without audio but with
animations to display in a Connect meeting so the presenter can
click through it like a Powerpoint? Currently the presentation just
clicks from slide to slide with no animations, so the items that
I've animated are skipped.
Help!! We go live tomorrow!

Casper,
Okay I want to sing the friendly ghost from the show when I see your name.
I burn avi all the time in Toast 7.1.2 Toast and I usually convert them to divx to fit 10-11 hours of video on there, but I've done it with DVD video. A friend lent me a movie once with no sound and here is the problem that will work everytime. You need to download the VLC player to get it to work right. Here is the link: http://www.videolan.org/
Didn't even know they had an intel one as I have the other version on my Powerbook and just transferred it to my intel one. Once it is downloaded you click on the orange striped cone and then you will see a little VLC box come up. The most effective way to view any file is to go to File up top and then scroll to open file (I've down the quick open file too and then you see a open box and a button that says browse next to it. Click the browse and find the movie or divx you want to watch and click open and then okay, then click the play arrow that is on your desktop and viola. You can go up top too and go to video and click full size screen etc.
If this was helpful or solved your problem please click the helpful or solved button up top. If this doesn't work let me know too.

  • Just want to replace some video with photos, but LEAVE AUDIO THERE. No way?

Is there no simple way to just replace some video with other video or photos, but not affect audio? I have an interview, and they're talking about places, and I want to put in photos of the places. Pretty basic stuff.
    Thanks for whatever help...

OK, yeah, CUTAWAY. But, I have the audio "purpled". Should it be? And my photo is sitting ABOVE the place where I want it. How do I get it to go down where it's supposed to? I really need a step-by-step here. I see how to manage the duration of the cutaway, but I don't see how to actually get it INTO the track, and how to "un-purple" the audio track.
    Thank you!

  • G711 movie file work with QT6, but no audio with QT7

G711 (PCM) QuickTime mov files played fine for us on QuickTime 6 and 6.5. But since we upgraded to QuickTime 7, the audio playback does not work anymore.
You can download an example file from here:
    ftp://ftp.gatherworks.com/private/g711.mov (285K)
When I downgrade to QT6.5 it works again.
Is there anything wrong with these QuickTime movie files?

  • Presentation with animation, can somebody help me with that, please?

    Hi,
I'm looking for a software wich contains some nice animations and allows me to create different presentations. Does anybody has any suggestion? Final Cut maybe? Or Adobe After Effects? And is really truth that the student version of Final Cut doesn't allow you to upgrade? A lot of questions, but hopefully I'll get some help.
    Thanks!

What kind of animations? Are you taking about animated motion backgrounds? Text animations? Or animations as in "cartoons"? Please be more specific.

  • Help: Making a DVD with Toast, but No Audio

I have searched on here and other places, found some helpful information and hints, but still nothing has worked out completely right.
I have some .avi files I want to put on a DVD and I'm using the burning program Toast 7 in the DVD-Video tab to do it. I have been able to successfully burn video DVDs when the audio is mpga format, but when the audio is in either A52 or AC3 format, the video loses the audio.
I was told I might need to get the A52Codec.comonent and the AC3 Codec.component files for QuickTime. I did that and installed them in the proper folders. I got the audio to work when the video when it is played in QuickTime (it didn't before). That's great and all, but when I burned with Toast 7, there was still no audio, only video came out again.
I don't know what I need to do. Do I need to convert the .avi to an audio Toast 7 can read and burn (like mpga)? Or is there some .component file I can download and drop it in my Components folder, which will allow the audio to burn correctly to the DVD?
Thank you to anyone who can assist me. I have been at this for 2 days now and have throw out a handful of DVDs trying to get this to work.

  • Sharing printer/HD with Windows + Mac?

    If I have the following:
    - Windows and Mac machines
    - Time Capsule
    - External USB HD
    - Brother DCP 7020 laser printer
Can all of this be made to communicate via Time Capsule since it include an Airport Extreme?
I currently have two Windows machines. The printer connects to machineA via USB, which is networked with machineB. I've tried sharing the printer with machineB but that doesn't work. Does Time Capsule (ie, Airport Extreme) have something special that allows this?
I was thinking of getting a 500GB Time Capsule (and MacBook) plus probably a 750GB/1TB USB HD for the Windows PC. Would it be better to focus on putting the Ext USB HD as an extended Mac drive and use MacDrive 7 on the Windows PC? This would allow me to use the Ext USB HD when Time Capsule fills up. Or, if that is the case, should I just start with the 1TB Time Capsule instead of two Ext HDs and use MacDrive on the WinPC? Thanks.

If you wish to use the MS-DOS filesystem on the drive then you must format the entire drive as a single partition with MS-DOS. You cannot partition the drive.

  • Unable to backward while synchonize audio with animation.

    Hi there,
Is anyone facing the problem which when you doing the audio synchonize with animation. I make mistake(animation appear wrong timing), with presenter 6, we just pause and move the slider backward to the newly appear animation willl disappear in order to redo it. But In presenter 7, backward of the slider nothing will happen.
This problem very waste of time when you trying to synchonize more than 20 animation with 5mins above of video for each slide.
Please aid me on this problem.

  • TS2289 Audio in iMovie 11 files but missing in sections when shared to iDVD. The movie and audio plays fine in iMovie but my burned iDVD  movie is missing some audio .

I imported a movie into iMovie 11 from a Canon Vixia HFR 300 SD card with no problem. I have a new iMac running OsX 18.8.4 I think. I added chapter markers and shared it with iDVD. And burned it to a DVD.  Towards the end of this 30 minute movie the sound just stops. I do remember some screen came up when I wanted to burn DVD that said something was wrong with files but I couldn't figure what do to fix it and allowed me to continue. Any ideas?

    Hi
Either the problem is in iMovie or in iDVD
    two notes
    No Audio in iMovie
Most common origin is use of audio from iTunes.
    Work around -
    • Select needed audio to one new playlist
    • Copy out this as an Audio-CD .aiff (not .mp3)
    • Use this in the movie-project
    Other origins are
    1. strange / alient file formats as -
    • .mp3, .avi, .wmv etc
    • Convert them into .aiff 48kHz 16-bit and use this
    2. the Mac is set wrongly in regard of midi -
    • Close iMovie and other programs
    • Start GarageBand
    • Make a new GB-project and play some notes
    • Close GB and Save
    • Now try iMovie again
    3. No audio when playback in iMovie 1 to HD 6.
    a. in iMovie pref. - deselect ” Playback via Camera”
    b. in System preferences - see that Audio out is not set to zero. Mine often does this
    without me knowing why.
    4. iMovie’08 & 09 & 11
    • Toggle audio-scimming by cmd-K
    Stuttering audio and video
    1. FileVault is ON - Turn it off
    2. More than 50 audio files in a movie-project
Mix down to one audio clip
    3. Project is stored on one (USB) external hard disk - should be a FireWire one
    4. the External hard disk is not Mac OS Extended formatted - but
UNIX/DOS/FAT32/Mac OS Exchange and this will not work for Video.
    5. To little free space on internal boot hard disk.
I go for a minimum of 25Gb free space when project is imported and edited and this goes for
4x3 SD Video. For 16x9 HD my guess would be about 5 times more at least.
Neither Mac OS, iMovie or iDVD can address any other hard disk than the boot drive for it’s
scratch files. (Unlike Final Cut Express/Pro where You select scratch disk/s)
    6. Network storage - DOESN’T WORK
    No audio on DVD disc.
    Most common origin.
    1. Imported audio from iTunes.
    • In iTunes copy out as an Audio-CD .aiff (Same as played on standard Stereo CD - no .mp3)
    • Use this in Your movie project
    2. Low - Free Space on Start-up/Boot/Internal/Mac OS Hard disk makes it hard for iMovie to work as intended.
Down to 1.3 GB and it doesn’t work - especially audio don’t migrate over to Media Browser
    (iM’08 & 09)
    3. Material in iMovie’08 & 09 - Shared to Media Browser and here selected as Large
large.m4v. It silenced out this project in iDVD. By making a slight alteration - provoking it to ask for a new Share/Publish to Media Browser and here selecting 640x480 - and audio was back when a new iDVD project was created including this movie.
    Minuscular - - 176x144
    Mobile - - - - - 480x360
    Medium - - - - 640x480
    Large - - - - - - 720x540    960x540
    HD - - - - - - - - 1280x720
    4. Strange audio formats like .mp3, .avi etc.
    • Change them to .aiff. Use an audio editor like Audacity (free)
    5. Main audio is set to off in System Preferences - Does this by it self - Don’t know why
    Cheque Audio-Out resp. Audio-In
    6. Ed Hanna
Had the same problem; some Googling around gave me a kludgy, but effective fix
Downgrade Perian from recent versions back to version 1.0.
That worked for me, and so far I haven't encountered any deficiencies — except it takes more advanced versions of Perian to enable QuickTime to handle subtitles in .srt format — that I have noticed.
    7. GarageBand fix.
In this set audio to 44.1 kHz (Klaus1 suggestion)
(if this don’t work try 48 kHz - me guessing)
    Before burning the DVD.
    • Do a DiskImage (File menu and down)
    • Double click on the .img file
    • Test it with Apple DVD-player
If it’s OK then make Your DVD.
Burn at x1 speed.... (or x4)
    • In iDVD 08 - or - 09
    • Burn from DiskImage with Apple’s Disk Utilities application
•OR burn with Roxio Toast™ if You got it

When you click the play button again the audio and animations are out of aliment. Is there any way to make the PPT animations pause in the player?

  • Self-running presentation with transitions & animations on web?

I want to create a self-running presentation with transitions and animations that I can post on a web site, ideally as a Flash file.  Is this possible with Keynote?  What are my options?

    Thanks, Edward.
I did some research on the web and the most recent information I can find is for 2009, showing Quicktime with an installation rate of 65% or so.  In my target audience, my guess is the installation rate will be somewhat higher.  So I will switch to Keynote, recreate the presentation (or import it, if I can), and export it to Quicktime as an interim solution.  At less than 100%, I can be reasonably certain that some people who do not have QT installed will simply leave my site rather than download QT to watch my video.
I'm no programmer so I have no idea how hard it would be, but, as a big-time Apple fan and a long time marketing person, I would say that if Keynote users want to post their presentations (with transitions and animations) on the web, then Apple should support exporting to Flash.  (Of course, I would say the same thing to MS about PP, but w/o the "big-time fan" comment.)
Thanks again.  You've helped me make progress.

  • Audio CD not recognized with Mini but reads with Macbook?

Error message saying Audio CD not recognized with Mini but reads with Macbook pro. Both machines are using the same Samsung external usb dvd/cd player.
I've tried rebooting the mini, cleaning the disk, unplugging the drive and the Mini still won't recognize the CD's (it's a 3 cd set and all 3 disks aren't working on the Mini.
When I use the same disks and drive with my Macbook Pro everything works fine.

    Certainly a strange one!?
Are these commercial or self made Discs?
Have you tried CD/DVD sharing on the MBP & see if the Mini can read them in the MBP?

  • Saving a powerpoint presentation with audio as a movie

    Hi there
I'm stumped. have a powerpoint presentation with embedded audio and would like to save it as a movie for upload.
any recommendations on how to do this?
I tried the powerpoint 'save as movie' command but it didn't preserve the timings or audio.
    Thanks!

    Hi,
If the PowerPoint presentation is self-running (you've set the presentation to use the timings you rehearsed), the only way I know of is to use video capture software. PowerPoint's export movie command seems more or less useless. One recommended by MacWorld is Snapz Pro X2 w/video capture. I've used it successfully to capture a 30 minute presentation complete with 44.1 hz/16 bit CD quality audio narration/score at 1200 x 900 resolution. This is on a Unibody MacBook Pro, which is rather impressive, given the computer is both playing the presentation and capturing both video and audio and saving to disk. However, there are other video capture apps that might also work, such as iShowU HD. I've only used Snapz Pro so far.

  • Delete audio after saving presentation "with" audio

After saving a presention with the option to save audio "with" the presentation, I can no longer delete audio from any slide. Is there a way to delete audio in this scenario?

Hello and welcome to the forum,
Seth answered about the choice when importing the PPT. You can add a click box to each slide, it will pause the slide at the end of the click box timeline, so be sure to adapt that timeline.
Do you want to add audio in Captivate? You have to know that every PPT-slide will be converted to sort of a video slide in Captivate, which makes synchronizing with audio not that easy.
Adobe Presenter would be easier to use (and be sure, I am a Captivate freak myself, but will rarely use PPT, but directly Captivate)
