Sharing a screen shot taken on phone

my phone did a software update last Friday (14 Feb 2014) and before that, all screen shots I took using the Volume Up & Down buttons on the were saved onto the "Device - Personal" under the camera section. I could then share these via bbm, email etc. Now since the software update, these are saving themselves under the "Device-Work" section under the camera option there and it wont let me share these at all except via Bluetooth or NFC or through "Meeting participants". I want to be able to save these where they use to save themselves so I can still share these the normal way I use to. Suggestions please.....???

Yes, by itself. (thanks for reply) So it is supposed to happen when you push home button and power button simultaneously? Perhaps the case I have it in is putting pressure on power button. Does the power button home screen combo take/save a screen shot from any screen view or just from lock screen?

Occasional blank screen shot when unlocking phone

I have an iPhone 4 with IOS 7. After installing IOS 7, the phone occasionally takes a black "screen shot" photo when I swipe to unlock the phone. It is annoying. Is there a known glitch that causes this, or is there some other fix for this issue?

Thank you for providing the details of the issue you are experiencing with the blank screenshot being created when unlocking your iPhone.
The first thing I recommend is quitting and relaunching all the applications on your iPhone:
Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.

If you are still seeing the same issue after quitting all the apps, I recommend restarting your iPhone and then resetting if it's still not working:
Restarting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Note: Reset your device only if you are unable to restart it.

Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

Screen shot taken by home button?

My iPhone 4S snaps and saves a screen shot of the lock screen in photos when I press the home button from sleep mode. Does anyone know how to get it to stop doing this? It happens about 1 out 4 times.

I can tell you from personal copyright infringement experience. (I had a single pic on my site that I once had permission to use, no longer allowed. Getty images contacted me and sued me for $800)
So tread very lightly and research thoroughly.

Printing imported screen shots

I imported some Word documents into RH 7 which included some
general .jpg images and a screen shot taken in Snag It. When
printed output was created (doc & pdf formats), both the images
and the screen capture were a little distorted and did not print
out as clearly as in the original Word document. When I used the RH
Screen Capture utility to capture the images and the screen shot,
there was no distortion when printed. Is there a setting that can
be configured to prevent this distortion or idoes RH not play nice
when converting other file types?

The distortion was slightly visible in the JPG images in the
WYSIWYG but the SnagIt images looked fine. Both types were present
in the Word doc prior to importing and have always printed out fine
in Word. The images were not added after the import.
I know the original screen capture is fine. When I captured
the same screen in RoboScreenCapture, inserted it into my Word
document before importing - it printed out without any distortion.
SnagIt saves as a .png whereas the RH version saved it as a .gif. I
did resolve the JPG issue by saving those as GIFs. That's why I
thought maybe RH has a problem converting from one format to the
other.

Best practices for importing .png screen shots into FrameMaker 9?

I'm new to importing .png screen shots into FrameMaker, and also new to FrameMaker 9. To compound things, I have engineers giving me screen shots taken on Linux machines, using a client like NX to get to Linux. My screen shots are coming in fuzzy and instead of trying to troubleshoot what's going wrong here, I was wondering if someone could quickly tell me what normally works with FrameMaker 9 and .png on a Windows system so I can troubleshoot from there.
That is, let's say I'm capturing a screen shot on a Windows system and I use some tool (Paint Shop Pro X, SnagIt, Alt-PrintScreen, or whatever). I save the screen shot as .png and then import by reference into FrameMaker 9.
What dpi do I use in the capturing program?
What dpi do I use when I import by reference into FM?
What if that makes the screen shot too large/too small: Is it better to use the FrameMaker Graphics > Scale solution, to resize it in my capture program, or to retake the screen shot?

Bringing screenshots into Frame documents has four major considerations:
how to perform the original screen capture
how to post-process it in a graphics editor
what graphical object model (and file format) to store it in
making sure it isn't damaged by your workflow
1. Screen Cap, typically of dialog boxes ...
... used to be simple; isn't anymore.
Dialogs used to have identical pixel dimensions on all user screens. You hit Alt[PrntScrn] in Windows and you got a one pixel per pixel 24-bit color image on the clipboard.
More recent operating systems now have much more scalability in the GUI. So either capture at what the default user sees, or at the optimal presentation enlargement, which might be precisely 2x the default display.
2. Post
Before you even start this step, you need to know exactly how you will be presenting the final document out of Frame:
B&W? Color?
What dimensional size on the page?
If hardcopy, what are the optimal parameters of graphical images for your print process? If web or PDF, various other considerations arise. I'll presume print.
In our workflow, the print engine is 600 dpi bitmap. We normally present images at one column width, about 3.5in. Our PDF workflow passes 600 bitmap untouched, but resamples gray and color to 200 dpi. I tend to use 600 dithered bitmap, but always test if there's any doubt.
Chances are the screencap bitmap, at your native printing res, is too small. There is no "dpi" associated with clipboard images. Once pasted into an image editor, the editor should provide the ability to declare the dpi (Photoshop does, both at paste, and via "resize without rescale"). If your image editor doesn't, fire it. If you can't see and control dpi, you have no real control over this workflow.
Plan to save the final image in a format that at least supports linear dimensions (like EPS) if not explicit dpi (TIFF). Save out the image at the exact size you intend to use at import in Frame. Do you know how Frame scales objects? I don't. So do your scaling where you have control over how.
Play with the defined "dpi" until the linear dimensions match your planned import frame. If that dpi passes through your workflow unmolested, you may not need to perform any resizing.
If you need to convert from 24-bit color to bitmap (at your printing resolution), I'd suggest using error diffused dithering converting to your target res, as this tends to preserve the hard edges in dialog boxes and rasterized text.
If you need to re-scale, I'd suggest scaling up by an integer multiple, using "nearest neighbor", to the nearest size just higher than your target dpi. Then rescale bi-linear down to your target size.
3. File Format
The main consideration here is compression, followed by color depth and size encoding.
Screenshots tend to have expanses of flat colors, and hard edges. These objects compress reasonably well using repeat-count compressions (like ZIP or RLE). They tend to get damaged by curve-matching compression, like JPEG, because they typically contain no curves through color space. Hard edges get fuzzy or pick up ringing artifacts.
So don't use JPEG (and what compression will your workflow use?). I tend to use TIFF(ZIP) for screenshots.
Avoid indexed color (4-bit, 8-bit or 15/16-bit) color.
Don't use GIF. It has no size encoding. The usual presumption is that GIF is 72 dpi, which makes importing it a nuisance, and at least a minor math exercise. Plus, it's indexed color, and may scale poorly downstream.
Experiment. See what looks optimal in the final product.
4. Workflow
As you can see throughout the above, all your careful planning can be for nought it your save-as-PDF, distiller or print shop process resamples everything down to 90 dpi. You have to know what's happening, and how to optimize for it, or you probably won't like the result.
We once had graphics showing up at 10 (yes ten) dpi in print.
Turned out the print engine could handle JPEG 5 but not JPEG 2000.
We had to hastily back-port images until a software upgrade fixed it.

If this iPhone has had the screen replaced previously, possibly LCD Display connector has simply come loose from the Logic Board. Possibly the LCD Display is faulty and the front screen assembly needs to be replaced. If you have Warranty or AppleCare make Genius reservation or set up service and take or send to Apple. This is handled by Apple with Replacement iPhone 4S.

Hello just yesterday I was skyping with a friend and that person realized that a screen shot was being taken every 60 seconds of them, but I had no idea this was happening. Can this be an android issue? I didn't even know you can screen shot your skype video chat. Please Help.

I am trying to capture screen shots from various models of Cisco phones using Call Manager 6 & Call Manager 7, both with Active Directory integration. I have Verizon's iPhone 5 4G LTE 32GB Black. I purchased Apple's mini USB lighting charging adapter. Every mini USB charging accessory I own gives the error message. I want to send you a screen shot. It doesn't help you win over Android users when the products you make and say will be compatable, are are not. It's frustrating. Please help.

IPhoto won't export cropped iPad and iPhone screen shots

I started a thread for this thinking it was affecting my whole iPhoto library, when I export a cropped image I get the original. I thought I'd solved it by rebuilding my library, then realized the issue was only manifesting with iPad screen shots. I tested it on iPhone screen shots too, same issue. Photos taken with any camera, even the iPad camera are fine, I can crop and export those. Any iOS screen shot refuses to export a cropped version. I tried all the different choices for "kind" in "export."
Is this a new feature? You have to be sure to crop a screen shot on the iPad or iPhone before you sync to iPhoto?

What format is the external drive the Library sits on?
Rather than trying to move libraries try repair the existing one:
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

Camera will not "open", screen shot included

Its an iPhone 3G with the 3.0 software. I can't remember if I've taken pictures since I updated the software, and restarting did nothing. Here's a picture of what it's stuck on. http://i43.tinypic.com/2z80spg.jpg Clearly, screen shots do work, and there was no problems saving it.
Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Try to Reset (Reboot) your phone. Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

Thanks for the answer, but I guess I'm not coordinated enough. I've specifically got the RAZR HD and this is my first smartphone. Yes I know it has taken me a while to join the rest of the world. LOL Just trying to figure things out... All I end up doing is bringing up a 'phone option' menu that shows Silent mode, airplane mode, sleep, and power off...Any tips on how you press and hold the buttons at exactly the same time?
