Sharing Addressbook with two accounts on one machine

Hi All,
somehow I cannot find out how to share my addessbook entries with my girlfriends account on the same mac.
I already did the same with iphoto where I created an alias of the iphoto data folder and which replaced her iphoto data folder. Now she has full access rights and can also edit the pictures.
I would like to the same with addressbook but when replacing the folder "User/Library/Application Support/Adress Book" address book does not start anymore.
Can someone please give me a hint!

How to handle sessions with two severs on one machine?

All,
I am having a problem with session cookies being overwritten when I host two apps on one machine running WebLogic 8.1 The apps are http://myserver:7300/app1 and http://myserver:7400/app2, and each runs in its own server.
Users will often access both apps at once, in two browser windows. If the windows are different threads in the same process, the sessions collide. For Internet Explorer, this isn't usually a problem since clicking on the shortcut multiple times launches different processes by default. Some browsers (Firefox, etc.) won't let you have two windows under different processes. Attempts to launch a second window 'detect' the existing process and appear to spawn a new thread. When this happens there appears to be no way for the users to use both apps at once.
I know this is happening because of the way session cookies are stored in the browser process' memory. The session cookies appear to me to be 'keyed' by the host name or ip address of the server. Does anyone know of a setting in WebLogic so that this 'key' includes the port or context root? Is this even something which can be controlled on the server side?

Not quite sure what your intent is, but if you want to avoid a clash how
about giving each application a different default session cookie name.

Itunes can't find music with two accounts on one compu ter

Hello,
My wife has the Ipod but we both want access to the main/master music library. I have the library in a shared folder which both accounts and read/write to. Now, if I add the Music folder on her account and sync the Ipod, everything is good. If I login and open itunes (the preferences have been changed to the same music folder) I get the dreaded "!".... After reading some of the help and support topics, I don't know why I can't play music from my account even though Itunes knows where the music is.

File Vault (FV) acces to partitions with two OS on one machine

I am still on 10.6 but just ordered a new MBP, so I can not check myself at present.
For technical reasons I would like to have 3 partitions on the MBP, two of which will be a Mac OS 10.8 systems. The HD has thus 3 partitions. lets call them OS1 and OS2 and D3.
If I turn FV on for OS1 seperately in the control pannel of OS1 and OS2 again in the control pannel of OS2, will both be able to read D3? I assume yes. correct?
Now if I turn FV on for OS1 and D3 in the control pannel of OS1 FV. I assume that when I boot from OS 2 I will not be able to access D3? or?
If this is indeed the case, is there a way around it? Like would it work to have both the users on OS1 and OS2 be identical? Or?

Not sure I understand your answer, let me recap to see if I understood.
So any internal partition that is on the MBP will only mount if I tell it to, it will not mount automatically when the machine has started up? At that point I enter the password for the disk.

Sharing music across accounts on one machine without moving files to Shared

I have read other posts about sharing iTunes among different accounts on one Mac, but so far I haven't solved my particular problem. Up until a couple of weeks ago - without reading any background material - I was just treating the two accounts as two different machines. I would open iTunes on one "source" account (which had music sharing enabled), switch to the second account, and be able to see the source account's music as a playlist, just as if it were being shared from a remote machine. I didn't have to worry at all about physically moving the files anywhere. As long as iTunes was open at the source account, I could play the source's music.
I've begun having a problem, though, recently, with the source account "cutting out," as if there were some kind of interference over a network. Which seems strange, given everything's all on the same machine.
I began reading the forums for answers, and did see the idea of moving the iTunes Music folder to users/Shared. The problem is that when I try to choose the the folder at the second account, the folder is blocked from access. I don't understand why this is so for the Shared folder.
If anyone has any ideas about A) the interference, and B) the blocked iTunes Music folder in users/Shared, I'll be very grateful.

Sorry,I don't have any idea about the interference.
Your Shared folder might have the wrong owner. It should be 'system'.

How to access a shared disk with two users account on same Mac

I am seeking how to share / access at same time with two accounts on a same Mac a disk that is shared with a TC or an AEBS. When a user account is connected to the shared drive and when I switch to the 2nd user this 2nd user cannot access / see the content of the shared drive and it receives an error message. I want to use this shared drive to store some GB of movies I do not want to have on my MacBook Pro SSD but still bring able to access them from the two accounts that are set on my Mac. Just like for an internal drive. I have tried all I could but it does not want to work. How do I do that ? Thanks.

If you were running this software, the Mac's Bonjour would automatically "discover" The Linux machine.

You have no idea how happy i would be to be proved wrong on this .. there are loads of posts in the discussion forums saying its impossible. If you can point me to where we are going wrong it would be very much appreciated. This is what we have tried ...
1. Create a 2 iTunes libraries on a single computer login (switching with the ALT key when starting itunes)
2. Create a new user account on the computer, create an iTunes library on each individual login.
In each scenario, the same thing happens. We can
- Start iTunes in the right library
- Log in to the iTunes store etc with each account.
The problem comes as soon as you try to download a purchased item, ie if I buy a song on my iPhone then try to down load it from the "purchased items" of iTunes account it was purchased under. iTunes gives a message saying that if i download something bought under iTunes Account 2, iTunes account 1 will be disabled from downloading or auto-download for 90 days as "this computer is already associated with an Apple ID"
Should probably have put this into the origianl post for clarity, apologies. i didnt really mean "logged in", we can log in to each iTunes account from the different libraries, but we can use the purchasing or download functionality - hopefully this makes more sense.
If you know how to set this up properly, it would be amazing if you could share it here?

Let's say two people share one computer and person A likes what he hears about iTunes 9 and wants to down it, but person B hates it and wants to keep iTunes 8 on the computer. I know it can't be done with one account but can it be done with two accounts if there is only one computer?

Good question. I'd say +back up your computer+ and give it a try. Put the copies of iTunes in Applications folders in each account, not in the common Applications folder at the main level of the directory.
Some of this may depend upon how you currently have it arranged with music files and libraries. I'm assuming you have it all sorted out as to accessing music files, unless you each have your own collection.
I don't know the full workings of itunes9 but as long as you don't share a common library (which is version-specific) or preferences files then I don't see why different versions won't work. Again, I'd make a backup in case anything funny happens, then try.

Invoice Posting with two accounting documents for Service PO

We have created one service (GR based Invoice verification) PO for which we have assigned a costcenter which has been created for different company code(rather than what company code we have mentioned in PO).
Now during Invoice creation out of 6 invoice entries only one Invoice has been created with two accounting documents for two different company codes, when we found this and canceled the same only basic entries has been reversed.
I just wanted to know how this single invoice has been created with two different accounting documents for two different company codes.
Please guide me in this regard.

Thanks for your reply, if that would have been case then each Invoice created for that PO should have two accounting documents but out of 6 invoice created only one invoice has been created with two accounting documents.
I am completely agree with you that it has posted as inter-company transfer but why only one invoice has been created with two accounting documents.
In addition to the above I just wanted to know if for GR-based invoice verified PO if we create a Invoice before creating service entry sheet whether two accounting documents will be created as we have mentioned different company code costcenter.
Please guide me in this regard.

Two FQDN on one machine.

I am trying to consolidate services on to as few machines as possible. Since you can setup multiple IP addresses, is it possible to have two FQDNs on one machine? I want to use a server to host files on my private network but also provide a public website. I already have the entries in DNS. I just don’t know if I can have two FQDNs on the same machine. It is as simple as just adding the new address?

If you are just talking about web hosting for two fqdn, then add another site in ServerAdmin:Web
Apache suppport virtual hosts. You could have hundreds of FQDN running under a single IP address.
In your case, you don't even need two IPs, but you could use them- or at least use them transitionally until you modify DNS and then just use on public IP.
If you want to add a second IP to the machine, you duplicate the port in SystemPrefs:Network. Show Network Port Configurations, then duplicate the ethernet interface and give that interface it's new settings.
